  • We have presented a comprehensive effective-mass Hamiltonian for strained Wurtzite semiconductors using k${\cdot}$p method and Kane's model. This theoretical groundwork provides a foundation for investigating the electrical and optical properties of wurtzite strained quantum-well lasers.

  • MRNS network is a general algebraic structure of Hypercube network which has recently drawn considerable attention to supercomputing and message-passing communication. In this paper, we investigate the routing of a message in an n- dimensional MRNS network that is a key to the performance of this network. On the n-dimensional MRNS network we would like to transmit packets from a source node to a destination node simultaneously along a fixed number of paths, where the superscript packet will traverse along the superscript path. In order for all packets to arrive at the destination node quickly and securely, the ith path must be node-disjoint from all other paths. By investigating the conditions of node-disjoint paths, we will employ the special matrices called as the Hamiltonian Circuit Latin Square(HCLS) described in 〔1〕to construct a set of node-disjoint paths and suggest a linear-time parallel routing algorithm for the MRNS network.

  • In this paper, nonlinear vibrations of the unsymmetrical laminated composite beam (LCB) on a nonlinear elastic foundation are studied. The governing equation of the problem is derived by using Galerkin method. Two different end conditions are considered: the simple-simple and the clamped-clamped one. The Hamiltonian Approach (HA) method is adopted and applied for solving of the equation of motion. The advantage of the suggested method is that it does not need any linearization of the problem and the obtained approximate solution has a high accuracy. The method is used for frequency calculation. The frequency of the nonlinear system is compared with the frequency of the linear system. The influence of the parameters of the foundation nonlinearity on the frequency of vibration is considered. The differential equation of vibration is solved also numerically. The analytical and numerical results are compared and is concluded that the difference is negligible. In the paper the new method for error estimation of the analytical solution in comparison to the exact one is developed. The method is based on comparison of the calculation energy and the exact energy of the system. For certain numerical data the accuracy of the approximate frequency of vibration is determined by applying of the suggested method of error estimation. Finally, it has been indicated that the proposed Hamiltonian Approach gives enough accurate result.

  • The uneven mass distribution of the Moon highly perturbs the lunar spacecrafts. This uneven mass distribution leads to peculiar dynamical features of the lunar orbiters. The critical inclination is the value of inclination which keeps the deviation of the argument of pericentre from the initial values to be zero. Considerable investigations have been performed for critical inclination when the gravity field is assumed to be symmetric around the equator, namely for oblate gravity field to which Earth's satellites are most likely to be subjected. But in the case of a lunar orbiter, the gravity field of mass distribution is rather asymmetric, that is, sectorial, and tesseral, harmonic coefficients are big enough so they can't be neglected. In the present work, the effects of the first sectorial and tesseral harmonic coefficients in addition to the first zonal harmonic coefficients on the critical inclination of a lunar artificial satellite are investigated. The study is carried out using the Hamiltonian framework. The Hamiltonian of the problem is cconstructed and the short periodic terms are eliminated using Delaunay canonical variables. Considering the above perturbations, numerical simulations for a hypothetical lunar orbiter are presented. Finally, this study reveals that the critical inclination is quite different from the critical inclination of traditional sense and/or even has multiple solutions. Consequently, different families of critical inclination are obtained and analyzed.

  • In this paper, we show that $ G(2^m, 4), m{\geq}3$with at most m-2 faulty elements has a fault-free cycle of length 1 for every ${\leq}1{\leq}2^m-f_v$ is the number of faulty vertices. To achieve our purpose, we define a graph G to be k-fault hypohamiltonian-connected if for any set F of faulty elements, G- F has a fault-free path joining every pair of fault-free vertices whose length is shorter than a hamiltonian path by one, and then show that$ G(2^m, 4), m{\geq}3$ is m-3-fault hypohamiltonian-connected.

  • In order to consider the reduced mass effects on the out-of-plane ring inversion vibration of 1,3-CHD, the vector-based computer program has been written and the kinetic energy expansion function for the large amplitude ring inversion vibration has been calculated using this program. The structural parameters for the calculations have been determined from the ab initio HF/6-31G** calculation. The potential energy function for the out-of-plane ring inversion vibration of 1,3-CHD has been determined from the kinetic energy expansion function and previously reported low-frequency Raman data. The vibrational Hamiltonian calculation including kinetic energy expansion function made it possible to determine the more reliable out-of-plane potential energy function for the ring inversion of 1,3-CHD.

  • An adaptive control algorithm for spacecraft rendezvous and docking in a Keplerian orbit is presented. The equations of relative motion of two spacecrafts expressed in a local-vertical-local-horizontal rectangular frame are converted to a general Hamiltonian form, then an adaptive control method developed for the uncertain Hamiltonian system is applied to the rendezvous and docking problem. A smooth projection algorithm is applied to keep the parameter estimates inside a singularity-free region, and a numerical example shows that the developed controller successfully deals with the unknown mass of the chaser spacecraft.

  • In this paper, we propose a problem, called one-to-one disjoint path cover problem, whether or not there exist k disjoint paths joining a pair of vertices which pass through all the vertices other than the two exactly once. A graph which for an arbitrary k, has a one-to-one disjoint path cover between an arbitrary pair of vertices has a hamiltonian property stronger than hamiltonian-connectedness. We investigate this problem on recursive circulants and prove that for an arbitrary k $k(1{\leq}k{\leq}m)$$ G(2^m,4)$,$m{\geq}3$, has a one-to-one disjoint path cover consisting of k paths between an arbitrary pair of vortices.
