  • In this study, characteristics of the problem solving process of the balancing redox equations was ana-lyzed by mental capacity and problem solving methods, and the pertinent teaching and learning guidance for oxidation-reduction unit was suggested. Participants were 79 senior high school students and 57 science high school students. Tests were conducted to measure the mental capacity, the understanding of the oxidation-reduction concepts and the com-pletion of the balancing redox equations. The framework was made to find the patterns of failure and success. As the analysis of the influence on the performance of mental capacity, understanding of the oxidation-reduction concepts, and problem solving methods, students who had lower understanding of oxidation-reduction concepts selected the trial and error method, and their performance were influenced by mental capacity. The students that had higher understanding of the oxidation-reduction concepts had good performance by using oxidation number method regardless of their mental capacity. As the results of analysis for the patterns, the success patterns of solving the problems, those of mostly the sci-ence high school students, were the cases of using oxidation number method well and lessening problem solving steps. The patterns of failure in solving problems by using trial and error method showed that students had mistakes in cal-culating, errors in making unknown equations, no consideration for all variables, or stopped solving the complicated problems. The patterns of failure in solving problems by using oxidation number method showed that many students had wrong oxidation number or no consideration for mass and charge balance.

  • As a study on how the Neurofeedback training effects on young children's brain function and intelligence, first, this paper aims to verity the effect Neurofeedback training brings to the function of young children's brain. Second, through K-WPPSI IQ test, analyses how Neurofeedback training influences on the development of young children's intelligence. The subjects of this study were the 60 five-year children attenging J kindergarten in Cheon-an, experimnet treatment was performed according to Neurofeedback training guidance from Aprile 21 to December 12, 2008. It analyzes the states of brain waves before and after the Neurofeedback training, and performed the statistical analysis through t-test, using SPSS for Window(V.13.0) package. As a result of analysis, it was shown that firstly Neurofeedback training was very effective on the d!evelopment of infan's brain intelligence, since the quotient to evaluate the entire brain function appeared to have a meaningful influence. Secondly, it was proved that Neurofeedback training had much influence on the object assembly-area, the maze-area, and picture completion-area, and that it had the same influence on the performance intelligence quotient too. So, such results as these one make us realize that Neurofeedback training is a very effective method to the development of performance intelligence quotient. Thirdly, they indicate that Neurofeedback training hasn't a meaningful influence on verbal intelligence quotient, since it affects only on the similarities area among verbal intelligence quotient, the total evaluative quotient.

  • This survey was conducted to secure a basic data for the effective training programs that might be an essential part of any successful mechanization of agriculture in Korea. Chung Nam provincial training center and 17 guidance offices with farm machinery training centers which were thought to be a medium level on their scale in whole country were selected in the survey on its training accomplishments, stafts, facilities, schedule and number of trainees at one time or in a class. The results and recommendations from this survey were as follows; To enhance the effect of farm machinery training, it was absolutely necessary for city or county training center to complement its facilities and equipments. It might be desirable that instructors of each training center should be the one educated or highly trained in the institution of farm machinery, and that the number of technical assistants should be increased and their present part time working condition should be changed to full-time status. It was recommended that training for farmers should be scheduled during off-season so that farmers could participate in the training couses, and that the number of trainees in a class should be reduced to about 10 trainees, which was approximately a fourth of the present situation.

  • In this paper, we have studied the improvement of operational control for the enhancement of business continuity of information system becoming more important with the development of information technology such as big data, Iot, and artificial intelligence. The operational management and audit guidance of the current information system, which is coming in the fourth industrial age, where various services, data and industries are converged, is based on the existing general information system pattern and needs to be improved. The provision of services at fixed times is linked to the survival of enterprises and countries and serves as a key element. Therefore, it is necessary to study the application of optimized check items of the operation audits to minimize the service interruption damage of the information system and to provide the stable service in terms of business continuity management. To accomplish this, the check items presented in the operational control of the information system were derived by combining the PDCA step contents and 8 resource requirements provided in ISO 22301. From the point of view of increasing the business continuity according to the derivation criteria of the inspection items, the operational inspection check items were derived by exemplifying the improved check items and review items of the information system operation audit and the products to be checked during the operational audit. The check items were divided into management audit improvement check items for service continuity management, and operational audit improvement check items for performance and availability management. The average score of the IT professionals' survey on the suitability of the proposed checklist was 4.63, which was concluded to be appropriate.

  • Fibroblastic reticular cells (FRCs) form the structural backbone of the T zone provide a guidance path for immigrating T cells in the lymph node (LN). FRCs may contribute directly to developing T-cell biology in the LN and allow analyses of fundamental aspects of FRC biology related to T cells. FRCs inhibited T-cell apoptosis, and FRC culture supernatants strongly induced the expression of Bcl-xL in T cells against doxorubicin. Coculture of FRC and T cells resulted in rearrangements of the actin cytoskeleton, as well as global changes in the morphology of the FRCs. In addition, when cocultured, the T cells adhered to the FRC monolayer, and the membrane intercellular adhesion molecule (ICAM)-1 was slightly increased by day-dependent manner. In contrast, the expression of soluble ICAM-1 was dramatically increased in a day-dependent manner. Several chemokines, such as CCL5, CXCL1, CXCL5, CXCL16, CCL8, CXCL13, and ICAM-1, and MMPs were expressed in FRCs sensed by tumor necrosis factor (TNF) families. Nuclear factor kappa B ($NF{\kappa}B$)-RelA of the $NF{\kappa}B$ canonical pathway was translocated into FRC nuclear by $TNF{\alpha}$. In contrast, p52 proteolyzed from p100, a counterpart of RelB of the noncanonical $NF{\kappa}B$ pathway, accumulated in the peripheral FRC nucleus by agonistic anti-$LT{\beta}R$ antibody. In summary, we propose a model in which FRCs engage in bidirectional crosstalk to increase the efficiency of T-cell biology. This cooperative feedback loop may help to maintain tissue integrity and function during immune responses.

For the research, 8 pre-service mathematics teachers participated in a mathematics major course, consisting of 5 phases of design thinking formed by Stanford d.school. In the end of the course, qualitative data were collected through individual and focus group interviews and the course activities. By data analysis, the results of this study were as follows. Firstly, the participants' perspectives of design thinking activities were changed from the difficulty and ambiguity of its activity in the beginning of the process to positiveness with competence of solving authentic problem in terms of teaching practicum over time. Secondly, the participating pre-service teachers emphasized that design thinking activities helped them prepare well teaching practicum and raise understanding of students they met in the school fields. Thirdly, some research participants went through the difficulty in utilizing their products drawn from 4th phase (prototyping) of design thinking process depending on the acceptance of their guidance teachers. Fourthly, the research participants also pointed out that the design thinking was a significant activity in that they learned how to understand and communicate with their students and how to collaborate with team members and it gave an insight about the preparation for a class. Through these results, this study identified the possibility of using the design thinking process for pre-service mathematics teachers' teaching practicum. In addition, the research put forward some implications for better use of design thinking in teacher education.

  • This study examined Korean and the U.S.A..'s television anti-smoking advertisements that were coined to discourage adults and teens smoking. A content analysis of 71 television advertisements listed in the "Smoking Guidance Program" operated by Korea Health Promotion Foundation. This study evaluated to detect whether the advertising content reflected core health communication theories such as health belief model, theory of reasoned action, and social cognitive theory used in the designing of anti-smoking ad message to change behavior and attitudes toward smoking unfavorably. The results showed that Korean anti-smoking ads mostly relied on social norm messages, followed by smoking attitude. The message of modeling and self-efficacy was least used; while, the U.S.A. ads focused more on modeling and self efficacy. This difference comes from the cultural difference. Namely, Korea focused more on collectivism rather than individualism. The anti-smoking ads of Korea and the U.S.A. most frequently adopted horror and humor rather than sadness, no appeal, and angry. The ads targeted more on adults rather than teens. The research identifies the types of advertisements that are most likely to utilized and underutilize in the Korea and U.S.A. anti-smoking ads and contribute to further understandings of anti-smoking ads theoretically.

  • The user interfaces of electronic-book (e-book) readers in the e-book market are highly diverse, and this has led to major usability issues. In this paper, we analyze user preferences in terms of feature-setting options and the use of touchscreen actions in the six most commonly used e-book readers for smartphnoes. We identify alternatives for these features, which can enhance the usability of e-book readers, based on these user preferences. The survey results for the feature-setting options show that it is desirable to support at least eight background colors, as well as the ability to specify the color of the background icons. Adjusting the screen brightness using a setting bar with the support of an auto-brightness option is desirable, as in using +/- buttons to adjust the font size, as well as approximately 10 font faces. We find that it is desirable to support fade, slide, scroll and curl page-turing options, in addition to a simple non-animated page-turning effect, and that page movement should be accomplished using a scroll bar with the support of the page movement features by entering a page number, and by using the table of contents as well as bookmarks. The survey results on the use of touchscreen options indicated that it is useful to be able to configure the screen layout of an e-book reader by dividing it into three areas: left, right, and center. And then, when users briefly touch the left and right areas, it is ideal to move to the previous and subsequent pages, respectively; and when they briefly touch the center region, it is desirable to display a touch feature menu. We believe that the results of this study may provide guidance in the design of user interfaces for e-book readers.
