  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the types of violence and coping methods experienced by general hospital nurses. Methods: Data were collected from March 17 to 24, 2014, using self-report questionnaires. Responses from 449 nurses were analyzed. Results: The majority of the respondents experienced violence from patients, visitors, doctors, and other nurses. Verbal violence was more frequent than physical threats and physical violence. Most violence happened in ERs, followed by surgical units, and ICUs. The most frequent response by nurses after violence was an emotional response, especially 'anger' ($4.01{\pm}1.059$). Based on general characteristics, the responses were significant for professional experience (F=2.935, p=.013) and work areas (F=2.290, p=.021). The most frequent coping method for nurses after violence had occurred was to 'just complete their duties as if nothing happened'. Conclusion: Most nurses are exposed to frequent violence, but they feel defenseless. These results suggest that hospital should improve the respective organizational cultures and develop promotional programs and administrative policies to prevent violence. In addition, educational programs should be provided for nurses to improve their attitudes and abilities to cope with violence. Also, hospitals should offer sufficient support, stress reduction programs and counseling programs for nurses.

  • Background: A contamination screening process for the local population in radiation emergencies is discussed. Materials and Methods: We present an overview of the relevant Korean governmental regulations that underpin the development of an effective response system. Moreover, case studies of foreign countries responding to mass casualties are presented, and indicate that responses should be able to handle a large demand for contamination screening of the local public as well as screening of the immediate victims of the incident. Results and Discussion: We propose operating procedures for an off-site contamination screening post operated by the local government for members of the public who have not been directly harmed in the accident. In order to devise screening categories, sorting strategies assessing contamination and exposure are discussed, as well as a psychological response system. Conclusion: This study will lead to the effective operation of contamination screening clinics if an accident occurs. Furthermore, the role of contamination screening clinics in the overall context of the radiation emergency treatment system should be clearly established.

  • The purpose of this study is two-fold: first, to discuss the concept of health diplomacy and the Korean government's response to contain the COVID-19 pandemic; second, to assess and compare assumptions of variances about foreigners' perceptions of how Korea is leveraging digital technology in battling the coronavirus spread, and its vaccine campaign; through the lenses of Chinese, Filipino, and Pakistani foreign nationals who are currently living in Korea. A total of 219 foreigners responded to the survey. The collected data were analyzed as percentages, mean averages, t-test, and ANOVA for statistical analysis. Results show that Korea is utilizing its digital technology practices and vaccine campaign in battling the pandemic through efforts of health diplomacy. ANOVA indicated significant results and assumptions of variance across three ethnic groups showing the Pakistani population had higher mean scores than the Chinese and Filipino about Korea's health diplomacy during the pandemic. This study contributes to the literature on Korea's digital technology practices and vaccine campaigns amidst the COVID-19 pandemic by promoting its image through health diplomacy efforts. It projects the country's soft image on a global scale, to save the lives of locals and foreign nationals, by providing insights into health diplomacy in Korea.

  • To enable the government and local authorities to anticipate the public's response to emergency measures, it is crucial to formulate theories on residents' behavioral reactions and establish appropriate evaluation models that cater to local conditions. However, prior research has primarily relied on simple surveys to assess individual disaster preparedness progress, while in the United States, the National Household Survey explores the behavior, attitudes, and motivations of citizens. Nonetheless, relying on simple survey analyses presents limitations. Therefore, our study aims to develop a social science behavioral analysis model that includes risk perception and emergency preparedness evaluation items for drought. We will achieve this by examining both domestic and foreign behavioral models. The ultimate goal is to present an effective response strategy for managing drought risk that incorporates the developed model. The drought risk perception and behavioral model employed in this study involves evaluating individual risk perception of drought disasters, individual effectiveness, and motivation analysis for drought disasters, government satisfaction with drought disaster management, and individual acceptance of drought prevention policies.

  • Purpose: This pilot study aims to conceptualize a new green marketing mix for retail consumers based on Stimulus-Organism-Response (SOR) model. Moreover, it also aims to conceptualize a testable research model of new green marketing mix with consumers' green purchasing behavior, and to validate the measurement model with traditional as well as modern suggested validating techniques. Research design, data and methodology: A pilot test data from 75 respondents of retail buyers of energy-efficient electric appliances in Pakistan were tested for the confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) by examining a measurement model of the construct through different validation techniques (like Composite Reliability, McDonald's Omega (ω), rho (ρA), HTMT, etc.) as heretofore these scales were not validated through these modern methods. Results: The results revealed that the instrument has a certain degree of reliability and validity through different validating techniques. All the measurement items reach the suggested threshold values. Conclusions: Therefore, this study conceptualized an integrated framework of all the three stakeholders of the environment (government, companies, and public or consumers) to achieve environmental sustainability. Hence, future studies can extend these findings and conduct a full-scale study to establish an empirical relationship between the 5G's of green marketing for retailing businesses and consumers' green purchase behavior.

  • During the ancient times, there was no separative judicial system and administrative , legislative and judiciary functions were ultimately concentrated in the all-powerful monarch. And the three states developed state organization , adopting hieratical structures and placing at the pinnacle . State Codes were promulgated to initiate a legal system to rule the people, these codes instituted under influence of China codes. The people tradition sees crime control as the preservation of the authority of hereditary rulers. In the period of the Koryeo dynasty, government accepted a serious of detailed penal code from Tang dynasty . Legal response to crime stressed preservation of the dynasty rather than making citizen behave according to certain rules. • To narrow the educational gap and balance the development of education, the Chinese Ministry of Education and various regional education offices are actively promoting government-funded normal education policies. In this study, the background, purpose, and main contents of government-funded normal education policy were identified through a literature review. Furthermore we tried to make an in-depth understanding of the motivation behind government-funded normal students' admission. The results of the analysis were classified as "unexpected motivation" at the individual level, "interim motivation" at the home and school level, and "mirror motivation" at the national policy and social level. "Parents and teachers' opinions" topped the list, followed by securing teaching positions, double-sided dailies (excluding tuition and dormitory fees, paying living allowances), teacher dominance and social status. Parents and teachers had a strong involvement in the admission of government-funded students. Economic factors are relatively more influential than the ideal job as a teacher, and it seems contrary to the original intention of the policy. In response, efforts should be made such as regarding the guidance of state-funded education policies and vocational identity education.

  • The Korean Peninsula is put in a position to carry out a highly strategic game vis-a-vis nK, which is asserting itself as a nuclear power amongst Northeast Asia's complex dynamics. While the international community recognizes nK's possession of nuclear weapons as released secret based on nK's three nuclear tests, shrewd strategic thinking is needed by ROK to secure itself as a non-nuclear nation in order to assume a responsible role to the international community, while simultaneously being ready to respond at all times for nK's military provocations. ROK must continue with its twofold strategy, by firm response to military confrontation with nK and maintaining flexible policy of tolerance in the areas of economy and ethnicity. Various strategic options to overcome nK's nuclear threats have been presented to ROK, whose possession of nuclear weapons have been difficult, and nK's nuclear capability is a real threat to ROK's national security. We must be able to respond to nK's nuclear threats strictly from ROK's national security perspective. This thesis aims to propose a response policy for nK's nuclear capability and nK's nuclear attack based on analysis of such nuclear damage, ROK Government's response posture against nK's nuclear threats, centered around ROK Government's non-military response posture.
