부모의 방임과 아동의 학업성취의 관계 : 자기조절학습능력과 공동체의식의 매개효과 (The Relationship between Parents' Neglect and Children's Academic Achievement : Focusing on the Mediating Effects of Self-Regulated Learning Ability and Sense of Community)

  • The purpose of this study was to verify the mediating effects on self-regulated learning ability and sense of community in the relationship between parents' neglect and children's academic achievement. The subjects used in this study were 2,218 6th grade elementary school students from the third wave sample of the 2012 Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey (KCYPS). For data analysis, the three-step mediated regression analysis by Baron and Kenny (1986) was performed and the Sobel test was carried out in order to verify the effectiveness of mediation effects. The main results of the present study were as follows. First, the self-regulated learning ability and sub-component factors of achievement value, mastery goal orientation, behavioral control, academic time-management revealed to have a partial mediation effect in the relationship between parents' neglect and children's academic achievement. Second, the sense of community also showed to have a partial mediation effect on the relationship between parents' neglect and children's academic achievement. The findings of this study provide a viewpoint to deeply observe the problem of parents' neglect in connection with children's self-regulated learning ability and sense of community, and can be used as practical data to develop various programs for the benefit of improving children's academic achievement.

다양한 표상활동 중심 분수학습이 분수의 이해 및 수학적 태도에 미치는 효과 (The Effect of the Fraction Comprehension and Mathematical Attitude in Fraction Learning Centered on Various Representation Activities)

  • 본 연구는 다양한 표상활동을 중심으로 한 분수학습이 분수의 이해 및 수학적 태도에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위한 것으로서 서울 소재 B초등학교 4학년 33명 전체학생을 대상으로 실시하였다. 활동적, 영상적, 상징적 표상활동으로 이루어진 분수학습을 6주간 15차시에 걸쳐 진행한 결과 관계적 이해에 도달한 학생들의 비율이 증가하였으며, 분수 학업성취도 검사 I, II, III에서 평균 90점 가까이 또는 그 이상의 높은 성취도를 보였다. 수학적 태도 변화를 알아보기 위해서 두 종속표본 t검정을 실시한 결과, 유의수준 .01에서 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 결론적으로 다양한 표상활동 중심의 분수학습은 학생들의 관계적 이해도와 분수 이해력을 향상시키고, 학생들의 학습지향성, 자기통제, 흥미, 가치인식, 자신감을 높이며, 불안감을 감소시키는 등의 수학적 태도면에서도 긍정적 영향을 미쳤다고 할 수 있다.

한국과 미국 여대생의 가치관과 의복선택행동에 관한 비교연구 (A comparative study of general values and clothing behavior of college female students in Korea and America.)

  • It is generallybelieved that the values of female students are different depending on the cultural enviromment of society. The purpose of this paper is to discern the value orientation of female students in Korea and America, and how they are related to the clothing behavior. 300 female students were selected as sample from the Univ. of Minnesota and 158 students filled out the questionnair. 420 female students were selected from five unversities in Jinju, Taegy and Pusan. RESULTS : 1) Korean students had highly evaluated theaethetic, political, religious and social values, and American students had higher evaluation on the economic and American students had higher evaluation on the economic and theoretical values. 2) Korean students tended to regard modesty, conformity and management as important factors when they chose new clothes, and for American students, appearance and tool were important. 3) The impact of values on clothing vehavior was as follows. a) Korean students who emphasized theoretical values did not use clothes as an instrument of status symbol and modesty. b) American students who emphasized the economic values tended to have an interest in purchase and wearing of clothes on purpose. c) Korean students who had positive attitudes on the aethetic values tended to be conservative, but they wanted to use the clothes as a demonstration of self exaggeraton. d) Korean students who regarded social values important tended to have a higher interest in the management of clothes. e) Korean students who had highly evaluated the religious values tended to be conservative when the selected new clothes. American students did not want to conform to the group norm when they chose new clothes. On the whole, American students did not put on clothes to achieve a specific goal. In short, it can be concluded that Korean students and American students have different values and they have a great impact on their clothing behavior.

Emergy-Simulation Based Building Retrofit

  • This paper introduces emergy(spelled with "m") that is a new environmental indicator in architecture, aiming to clarify conflicting claims of building design components in the process of energy-retrofit. Much of design practitioners' attention on low energy use in operational phases, may simply shift the lowered environmental impact within the building boundary to large consumption of energy in another area. Specifically, building energy reduction strategies without a holistic view starting from natural formation, may lead to the depletion of non-renewable geobiological sources (e.g. minerals, fossil fuels, etc.), which leaves a building with an isolated energy-efficient object. Therefore, to overcome the narrow outlook, this research discusses the total ecological impact of a building which embraces all process energy as well as environmental cost represented by emergy. A case study has been conducted to explore emergy-driven design work. In comparison with operational energy-driven scenarios, the results elucidate how energy and emergy-oriented decision-making bring about different design results, and quantify building components' emergy contribution in the end. An average-size ($101.9m^2$) single family house located in South Korea was sampled as a benchmark case, and the analysis of energy and material use was conducted for establishment of the baseline. Adoption of the small building is effective for the goal of study since this research intends to measure environmental impact according to variation of passive design elements (windows size, building orientation, wall materials) with new metric (emergy) regardless of mechanical systems. Performance simulations of operational energy were developed and analyzed separately from the calculation of emergy magnitudes in building construction, and then the total emergy demand of each proposed design was evaluated. Emergy synthesis results verify that the least operational energy scenario requires greater investment in indirect energy in construction, which clearly reveals that efficiency gains are likely to be overwhelmed by increment of material flows. This result places importance on consideration of indirect energy use underscoring necessity of emergy evaluation towards the environment-friendly building in broader sense.

Fundamental framework toward optimal design of product platform for industrial three-axis linear-type robots

  • This paper discusses an optimization-based approach for the design of a product platform for industrial three-axis linear-type robots, which are widely used for handling objects in manufacturing lines. Since the operational specifications of these robots, such as operation speed, working distance and orientation, weight and shape of loads, etc., will vary for different applications, robotic system vendors must provide various types of robots efficiently and effectively to meet a range of market needs. A promising step toward this goal is the concept of a product platform, in which several key elements are commonly used across a series of products, which can then be customized for individual requirements. However the design of a product platform is more complicated than that of each product, due to the need to optimize the design across many products. This paper proposes an optimization-based fundamental framework toward the design of a product platform for industrial three-axis linear-type robots; this framework allows the solution of a complicated design problem and builds an optimal design method of fundamental features of robot frames that are commonly used for a wide range of robots. In this formulation, some key performance metrics of the robot are estimated by a reducedorder model which is configured with beam theory. A multi-objective optimization problem is formulated to represent the trade-offs among key design parameters using a weighted-sum form for a single product. This formulation is integrated into a mini-max type optimization problem across a series of robots as an optimal design formulation for the product platform. Some case studies of optimal platform design for industrial three-axis linear-type robots are presented to demonstrate the applications of a genetic algorithm to such mathematical models.

과학 영재의 역량 탐색 및 역량 사전의 개발 (A Study on Science-gifted Students' Competency and Development of Competency Dictionary)

  • 최근 과학 영재 교육 대상자의 선발 제도로 관찰 추천제가 도입되었으며, 이는 잠재적 역량이 높은 과학 영재를 파악할 수 있는 신뢰롭고 타당한 선발 기준의 마련을 요구하고 있다. 이에 이 연구에서는 과학 영재의 내적 속성에 대한 변별을 도울 수 있는 역량을 탐색하고, 이를 사전화하였다. 검증된 선행 역량 사전/모델로부터 역량을 추출하고, 구조화된 설문과 초점 집단 면접을 통해 과학 영재의 역량을 규명하였다. 연구 결과, '목표 제시', '계획 수립', '정보 수집 및 분석', '문제 해결', '고차원적 사고', '전문 지식 및 자기 개발'의 6개 역량으로 구성된 인지적 역량군과 '자신감', '성취 지향성', '호기심'의 3개 역량으로 구성된 정의적 역량군을 도출하였다. 그리고 도출된 역량을 바탕으로 역량명과 역량에 대한 정의, 핵심 요소, 행동지표와 수준으로 구성된 역량 사전을 개발하였다. 이 연구 결과는 관찰 추천을 통한 잠재적인 과학 영재의 선발 기준에 대한 시사점을 제공할 것으로 기대된다.

개선된 전처리 과정을 이용한 지문 인식 시스템 (Fingerprint Verification System Using Improved Preprocessing)

  • 지문에 기반을 둔 인식시스템은 오래 전부터 사용되었다. 지문은 이미 잘 알려진 바와 마찬가지로 개개인이 서로 다른 특징을 가지고 있기 때문에, 가장 널리 사용되는 생체계측적인 특징의 하나이다. 그러나 지문 인식 시스템은 입력 지문 영상의 상태가 나쁜 경우 인식 성능이 크게 저하되는 치명적인 약점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 이런 문제점을 해결하기 위해 향상된 방향과 향상된 이진화 및 세선화 영상을 이용한 영상 향상 알고리즘을 전처리 과정에서 사용한다. 영상 향상의 목적은 입력 지문 이미지의 품질을 정확히 측정하고, 지문 영상의 융선과 골의 구조를 개선시키는 것이다. 또한 인식 속도를 향상시키기 위하여 색인 테이블을 사용한 융선의 방향 정보 추출 방법을 제안하였다. 제안한 지문 인식 시스템이 특징점 추출과 인식 성능에서 향상되었음을 실험을 통해서 확인할 수 있었다.

인공지능 대화형 에이전트의 지능적 속성에 대한 기대와 기대 격차 (Expectation and Expectation Gap towards intelligent properties of AI-based Conversational Agent)

  • 본 연구에서는 인공지능 대화형 에이전트인 스마트 스피커의 지능형 에이전트로서의 속성, 즉 자율성, 사회성, 반응성, 능동성, 시간연속성, 목표지향성에 대하여 이용자들이 일상적 상호작용을 통하여 어떤 기대를 가지는지, 또한 어떤 기대격차를 갖는지 살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 스마트 스피커 이용자들을 대상으로 반구조화 인터뷰(semi-structured interview)를 진행하고 그라운드 이론에 기반하여 분석하였다. 연구 결과 사람들은 기술수준의 한계로 인해 스마트 스피커의 사회성이나 인간다움에 대해 큰 기대격차를 갖고 있었다. 스마트 스피커의 반응성에 대해서는 긍정적인 기대격차를 갖는 것으로 드러났고, 시간연속적으로 정보를 기억하는 것에 대해서는 정보의 민감성 정도나 제시방식에 따라 양가적 기대격차가 나타났다. 자율적인 추천에 대해서는 낮은 기대수준이 나타났고 능동적인 말걸기에 대해서는 맥락에 맞는 경우에만 선호하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 스마트 스피커와 상호작용하는 방식을 설계하고 기대 수준을 관리하는데 있어서 함의점을 제시한다.

Branding and Advertising on Social Networks: Current Trends

  • The emergence of social networks has led to the flourishing of a new golden era of branding, which is a challenge for companies due to the need for creative positioning of companies with an emphasis on building trust and loyalty to the brand. Consumers are becoming more demanding and due to a wide range of products in different markets, make demands that are more stringent on companies. The goal of this article was to study the main trends of branding and advertising on social networks to develop a new approach to brand promotion. Methodology. The quantitative and qualitative research design was used to determine the main trends in branding and advertising on social networks. The methodology included the following methods: 1) analysis of the relationship between brand value and brand content strategy, 2) content analysis of the content of companies in social networks on the example of 10 world-famous brands with the highest value. The results allowed forming the criteria of effective content and communication: simplicity of content and simplicity of communication, lack of direct advertising of products, emphasis on global socio-economic problems and social orientation, unobtrusive communication, content creativity, indirect information about the product or work, the history of the company's development through various tools. The main content strategies of brands are defined: storytelling strategy; strategy of informing about the history of the company's development; entertainment and information strategy; strategy of joint interaction with the audience through the involvement of wellknown influencers or users of products. The theoretical and practical value of the results is confirmed by the conceptualization of the main content strategies of world-famous brands, which are pioneers in new ways to build relationships with users through social networks. The research proposes to use a customer-oriented approach to brand promotion. This means studying consumer behavior and predicting possible changes in behavior, which determines the level of interaction with the brand, the content strategy of the brand, and its effectiveness.

메시지 조절목표와 메시지 형식 간 적합성이 메시지 설득력에 미치는 영향 (The Persuasive Impact of Fit between Message Goals(Promotion vs. Prevention) and Modality of Message on Social Media)

  • 커뮤니케이션 수단으로서의 소셜미디어의 성장은 소비자가 영양학적 선택과 건강한 음식 소비를 하는 데 소셜미디어의 영향력 역시 증가시켰다. 이 연구는 소셜미디어 상에서 건강한 식습관과 관련한 메시지 목표(향상 vs. 예방)와 메시지 형식(텍스트 vs. 이미지)이 메시지 설득력에 미치는 영향력을 알아보는 데 그 목적이 있다. 연구 결과에 따르면, 향상메시지에 노출된 참가자들은 소셜미디어 메시지 형식에 따른 차이를 보이지 않았으나, 예방메시지에 노출된 참가자들은 텍스트 (vs. 이미지) 형식의 메시지에 노출되었을 때, 메시지에 대한 더 긍정적인 태도를 보였으며, 해당 메시지에 대해 더 높은 클릭 의도를 보였다. 본 연구의 결과는 소셜미디어 상 건강메시지의 형식과 메시지 목표의 적합성이 메시지 효과에 영향을 미침을 이론적으로 증명하였다. 더불어 효과적인 건강메시지 작성 및 전달 방식에 대한 실무적 지침 역시 제공하리라 예상한다.
