NTP-ERSN is a package developed for solving the multigroup form of the discrete ordinates, characteristics and collision probability of the Boltzmann transport equation in one-dimensional cartesian geometry, by combining pin cells. In this work, C5G7 MOX benchmark is used to verify the accuracy and efficiency of NTP-ERSN package, by treating reactor core problems without spatial homogenization. This benchmark requires solutions in the form of normalized pin powers as well as the vectors and the eigenvalue. All NTP-ERSN simulations are carried out with appropriate spatial and angular approximations. A good agreement between NTP-ERSN results with those obtained with OpenMC calculation code for seven energy groups. In addition, our studies about angular and mesh refinements are carried out to produce better quality solution. Moreover, NTP-ERSN GUI has also been updated and adapted to python 3 programming language.

In this paper we deal with the problem of recovering 3-D motion and structure from a time-varying 2-D velocity vector field. A great deal has been done on this topic, most of which has concentrated on finding necessary and sufficient conditions for there to be a unique 3-D solution corresponding to a given 2-D motion. While previous work provides useful theoretical insight, in most situations the known algorithms have turned out to be too sensitive to be of much practical use. It appears that any robust algorithm must improve the 3-D solutions over time. As a step toward such algorithm, we present a method for recovering 3-D motion and structure from a given time-varying 2-D velocity vector field. The surface of the object in the scene is assumed to be locally planar. It is also assumed that 3-D velocity vectors are piecewise constant over three consecutive frames (or two snapshots of flow field). Our formulation relates 3-D motion and object geometry with the optical flow vector as well as its spatial and temporal derivatives. The linearization parameters, or equivalently, the first-order flow approximation (in space and time) is sufficient to recover rigid body motion and local surface structure from the local instantaneous flow field. We also demonstrate, through a sensitivity analysis carried out for synthetic and natural motions in space, that 3-D motion can be recovered reliably.
This paper is to raise several questions in teaching the Graph and Linear Transformation complied with the Mathematics Amended Curriculum announced in 2006 Aug. and then to formulate a plan accordingly. For this, we'll take a good look at the prior studies on the Graph and Linear Transformation after the announcement of the 7th School Curriculum along with the changes in their contents through the process of curriculum. Then we'll check over learning factors of the Graph and Linear Transformation in all 27 kinds of the authorized textbooks - 'Mathematics I', 'Applications of Mathematics', and 'Geometry and Vectors' - and 27 kinds of exercise books issued on 2009. By this, we put measures which improve understanding and apply correctly to the Graph and Linear Transformation in the Mathematics Amended Curriculum to high school teachers.
University teachers of linear algebra often feel annoyed and disarmed when faced with the inability of their students to cope with concepts that they consider to be very simple. Usually, they lay the blame on the impossibility for the students to use geometrical intuition or the lack of practice in basic logic and set theory. J.-L. Dorier [(2002): Teaching Linear Algebra at University. In: T. Li (Ed.), Proceedings of the International Congress of Mathematicians (Beijing: August 20-28, 2002), Vol. III: Invited Lectures (pp. 875-884). Beijing: Higher Education Press] mentioned that the situation could not be improved substantially with the teaching of Cartesian geometry or/and logic and set theory prior to the linear algebra. In East Asian countries, science-orientated mathematics curricula of the high schools consist of calculus with many other materials. To understand differential and integral calculus efficiently or for other reasons, students have to learn a lot of content (and concepts) in linear algebra, such as ordered pairs, n-tuple numbers, planar and spatial coordinates, vectors, polynomials, matrices, etc., from an early age. The content of linear algebra is spread out from grades 7 to 12. When the high school teachers teach the content of linear algebra, however, they do not concern much about the concepts of content. With small effort, teachers can help the students to build concepts of vocabularies and languages of linear algebra.
Analysis of Dynamic Characterisocs of Rectangular Plate by Finite Element Method. Dynamic characteristics of a rectangular plate with opening in it is studied by finite element method. To investigate these characteristics 12 degrees of freedom membrane finite element in used. The rectangular membrane finite elements are defined by specifying geometry, internal displacement functions and strain-displacement relations. Then, the governing equation for the finite element is derived by energy method. To derive the mass matrix and stiffness matrix of the element, expressions for strain and kineic energy in terms of the node displacement are generated. In constructing the overall structure matrix, the matrix of each elements are superposed and partitioned by applying the given boundary condition to obtain a nonslngular matrix. To find the natural freguencies and viration modes, the eigen values and the corresponding eigen vectors are computed by the computer using well known Jacobi power method. In order to verify the capability of the membrane finite element, a flat rectangular plate is analyzed first, and the result is compared with well known analytical results to show the good agreement. A rectangular plate with opening in It is analyzed with the same finite element. The results are presented in this paper. Unfortunately, the literature study could not provide with some results to compare, but the results reveal that the output of this research is phlslcally reasonable. And the results of this research are useful not only in practice but also for the future experimental research in comparison purpose.

Recently, along with the improvements of geometry modeling methods using sketch-based interface, there have been a lot of developments in research about generating surface model from 3D curves. However, surfacing a 3D curve network remains an ambiguous problem due to the lack of geometric information. In this paper, we propose a new algorithm for estimating the normal vectors of the 3D curves which accord closely with user intent. Bending energy is defined by utilizing RMF(Rotation-Minimizing Frame) of 3D curve, and we estimated this minimal energy frame as the one that accords design intent. The proposed algorithm is demonstrated with surface model creation of various curve networks. The algorithm of estimating geometric information in 3D curves which is proposed in this paper can be utilized to extract new information in the sketch-based modeling process. Also, a new framework of 3D modeling can be expected through the fusion between curve network and surface creating algorithm.

3D FEM modeling based on 3D CAD data has been performed to evaluate the efficiency of CP system in a real operating nuclear power plant. The results of it successfully produced sophisticated profiles of electrolytic potential and current distributions in the soil of an interested area. This technology is expected to be a breakthrough for detection technology of damages on buried pipes when it comes into combining with a brand of area potential earth current (APEC) and ground penetrated radar (GPR) technologies. 2D current distribution and 2D current vectors on the earth surface from the APEC survey will be used as boundary conditions with exact 3D geometry data resulting in visualization of locations and extents of corrosion damages on the buried pipes in nuclear power plants.

The numerical analysis of sound radiation by vibrating structure is a well known and mature technology used in many industries. Accurate methods based on the boundary or finite element method have been successfully developed over the last two decades and are now available in standard CAE tools. These methods are however known to require significant computational resources which, furthermore, very quickly increase with the frequency of interest. The low speed of most current methods is a main obstacle for a systematic use of acoustic CAE in industrial design processes. In this paper we are going to present a set of innovative techniques that significantly speed-up the calculation of acoustic radiation indicators (acoustic pressure, velocity, intensity and power; contribution vectors). The modeling is based on the well known combination of finite elements and infinite elements but also combines the following ingredients to obtain a very high performance: o a multi-frontal massively parallel sparse direct solver; o a multi-frequency solver based on the Krylov method; o the use of pellicular acoustic modes as a vector basis for representing acoustic excitations; o the numerical evaluation of Green functions related to the specific geometry of the problem under investigation. All these ingredients are embedded in the ACTRAN/AR CAE tool which provides unprecedented performance for acoustic radiation analysis. The method will be demonstrated on several applications taken from various industries.
In this paper, a new rectification scheme to transform the uncalibrated stereo image pair into the calibrated one is suggested and its performance is analyzed by applying this scheme to the reconstruction of the intermediate views for multi-view stereoscopic display. In the proposed method, feature points are extracted from the stereo image pair by detecting the comers and similarities between each pixel of the stereo image pair. These detected feature points, are then used to extract moving vectors between the stereo image pair and the epipolar line. Finally, the input stereo image pair is rectified by matching the extracted epipolar line between the stereo image pair in the horizontal direction. Based on some experiments done on the synthesis of the intermediate views by using the calibrated stereo image pairs through the proposed rectification algorithm and the uncalibrated ones for three kinds of stereo image pairs; 'Man', 'Face' and 'Car', it is found that PSNRs of the intermediate views reconstructed from the calibrated images improved by about 2.5${\sim}$3.26 dB than those of the uncalibrated ones.
In the earlier application of the spline finite strip method(FSM), the uniform B3-spline functions were used in the longitudinal direction while the conventional interpolation functions were used in the transverse direction to construct the displacement filed in a strip. To overcome the shortcoming of the uniform B3-spline, non-periodic B-spline was developed as the displacement function. The use of non-periodic B3-spline function requires no tangential vectors at both ends to interpolate the geometry of shell and the Kronecker delta property is also satisfied at the end boundaries. Recently, non-periodic spline FSM which was modified to have a multiple knots at the boundary was developed for the shell analysis and applied to the analysis of bridges. In the formulation of a non-symmetric spline finite strip method, the concepts of non-periodic B3-spline and a stress-resultant finite strip with drilling degrees of freedom for a shell are used. The introduction of non-symmetrically spaced knots in the longitudinal direction allows the selective local refinement to improve the accuracy of solution at the connections or at the location of concentrated load. A number of numerical tests were performed to prove the accuracy and efficiency of the present study.
