In this article, We explained the historical origin and significance of decimal fraction, and draw some educational implications based on that. In general, it is accepted that decimal fraction was first invented by a Belgian man, Simon Stevin(1548-1620). In short, the idea of infinite decimal fraction refers to the ratio of the whole quantity to a unit. Stevin's idea of decimal fraction is significant for the history of mathematics in that it broke through the limit of Greek mathematics which separated discrete quantity from continuous quantity, and number from magnitude, and it became the origin of modern number concept. H. Eves chose the invention of decimal fraction as one of the "Great moments of mathematics."The method of teaching decimal fraction in our school mathematics tends to emphasize the computational aspect of decimal fraction too much and ignore the conceptual aspect of it. In teaching decimal fraction, like all the other areas of mathematics, the conceptual aspect should be emphasized as much as the computational aspect.al aspect.

There are several treatises about architectural characteristics of Hyangkyo. But those treatises usually treat with the types of site plans or structural characteristics without the historic background. So there needs the approaching methods with the historic background to study about the architecture of Hyangky. This study aims at the sample research about the architecture of Hyangkyo in beginnig period. Kyodong hyangkyo is the first building in hyangkyo. There are some architectural characteristics in this building comparing with the Hyangkyo in ripening period. Such characteristics apper in the site plan of educational spaces and in the floor plans of Myongryundang, Dongjae, Seojae. And there appear some characteristecs in ritual spaces such as the architectural structure of Daesungjun, and the position of stone establishment (Kwansedae, Saengdan) The ritual form of Kyodong hyangkyo has no special characteristics compering with the Hyangkyo in ripening period. These rictual form has kept the general rule of ritura form through the history.

Chonggang Kim Younghoon is a person who cannot be dropped out in speaking of contemporary Korean history. "Susehyunsuh" is very meaningful since it's his early work. It was written in winter of 1904, and it was written to adjust all his medical knowledge so far, before he started lectures after appointment to a professor at Dongje medical school. In general, it's chaptersd are in form of poetry and a characteristic of the edition is that it's in the best use of searching the text for clinical practice. The content is basically sorted from "Euihakyipmun" and "Donguibogam", but prescriptions are mostly referred from Chosun medical books of those days.

This article is focusing on the importance, concepts, and theses of Military Thoughts. This article also tried to find the research trend on the Korean Military Thoughts History. In addition, this article makes a general overview of Yang Seong-ji in the mid 15th Century. The fundamental objects of Military Thoughts are Tactics of a person for Military Affairs and Military Tactical Manuals. The circumstances at that time, the Military System, and Weapon system are based on the preceding two essential elements on Military Thoughts. From now on, this article insist on the necessity of the Study on the History of Korean Military Thoughts focused on a military figure.

Sensors based bridge monitoring system (SBBMS) is designed to perform real-time monitoring and to store the performance history of in-service bridges. In general, visual inspections play a major role in maintenance of in-service bridges; however, they are not adequate to document the behavior of a bridge. Therefore, visual inspections and sensor based monitoring systems complement each other. Sensor based bridge monitoring systems consist of hardware and software systems. The hardware system contains the sensors and data-loggers to measure the behavior of a structure, the communicational equipment to transmit the measured data from the site to the monitoring center, and the computers to arrange and analyze the data. The software system controls data-loggers, arranges and analyzes the measured data, makes real-time display, stores the performance history.

In this study, a teaching unit for mathematically gifted students is designed, based on Lakatos's perspective. First, students appreciated the exceptions of Desargue theorem and introduced the point at infinity to remove the exceptions. Finally students were guided to realize that the exceptions and the general case of Desargue theorem have equal status. Exploring Desargue theorem with other viewpoints, gifted students experienced the growth of mathematical knowledge due to exceptions of the theorem.

Background: Dental injury as a result of oroendotracheal intubation during general anesthesia is very common. We report our experiences of using mouthguard to prevent dental injury during intubation based on our protocol. Methods: This retrospective study enrolled patients referred for preanesthetic evaluation, those patients with a history of any of the dental treatments to their anterior teeth listed on our fabrication protocol from January 1, 2009 to June 30, 2010. Results: No cases of dental trauma during oroendotracheal intubation were reported among the 202 patients who used a protective device. 66% of the patients had risk factors for hard tissue damage aged 10-40 years. At the ages of 40-70 years, the incidence of risk group for periodontal damage was higher. Conclusions: Preanesthetic consultation was effective for preventing dental injury, so preanesthetic questionnaire and proper dental consultation would be helpful.

This paper deals with historical changes in the market of Korean newsprint paper since 1945. Particularly, this paper does not examine only the structure of supply and demand in the newsprint paper market, but also general dynamics of the market from a perspective of Harold Innis's socioeconomic history. As a result, this paper concludes that the general dynamics of Korean newsprint paper market has persistently responded to a stimulus from external markets due to a scarcity of natural resources. To more concretely put it, until 1967 when the newsprint paper market was opened, Korean government had tried to control both newspaper industries and paper manufacture businesses by the matters of price and distribution of the newsprint paper. But since the market was opened, a general dynamics of the Korean newsprint paper market has been vulnerable to uncoordinated properties of external markets. Consequently, even though 'self-sufficiency' of newsprint papers was achieved in 1974, the price of newsprint papers has been often rising and falling.

Although the curator system of South Korea officially started in 2001, it has not taken root yet. Because most active curators do not have a certificate, concerned scholars are making efforts to complement and establish the curator system. Although there are currently numerous museums and art galleries that own a number of costumes and textiles in Korea, the number of curators who majored in the history of costume is very low. Despite the growing importance and the increase in costume-related exhibition than any other fields, this shortage of qualified curators resulted in the lack of specialty for the management and exhibition of past costumes. To solve this problem, there needs to be more hire for curators, in proportion to the possession and exhibition of costumes, who major in the history of costume. The history of costume must also be part of the curator test and be required even for the internship. And there must be education for curators who currently deal with costumes without having majored in the study of costume, history of costume students who want to become a costume-related curator in the future, and the general public. The contents for education must include the knowledge of artifacts, theories to enhance the management capacity, and practice in the museum.

This study is about King Kyung-jong's medical history written on "The Daily Records of Royal Secretariat of Chosun Dynasty". Kyung-jong, the 20th King of Chosun was born in 1688 as a prince and passed away in 1725. When he was prince, his main diseases were some infectious things; for example, smallpox, measles, a sort of malaria, a sort of mumps etc. But the time he was king, his main diseases were related unenergetic(虛證). According to "The Daily Records of Royal Secretariat of Chosun Dynasty" yak-bang(藥房) records, some informations about his health are different from general knowledges. At first, His father's dead is more related his health than his mother's dead. Second, he was fat, not thin(or desiccate). Third, his infertility was not caused his mother when she died. Fourth, he was regarded as one of psychological healthy person. And not exactly related Kyung-jong's health, in "The Daily Records of Royal Secretariat of Chosun Dynasty" at Kyung=jong's era, there are some meaningful informations at medical history. One is a doctor who was smallpox specialist. His name is Yoo-Sang, he treated three of Chosun's King very perfectly and his family worked for the royal family's health for 150 years, especially treating smallpox. the other is prescription Gamijojungtang(加味調中湯), Kyung-jong's favorite prescription. This prescription is considered royal special prescription at Chosun.
