Purpose : Establishing multicultural acceptance is important to provide quality nursing care in various clinical settings and adapt to changing roles in different situations. The purpose of this study was to explore degree of intercultural sensitivity, cultural empathy, and multicultural acceptance, the factors influencing of multicultural acceptance of nursing students and to provide the basic data to increased multicultural acceptance. Methods : The study used a questionnaires that include general characteristics, multicultural acceptance, intercultural sensitivity, cultural empathy for nursing students. This research involved 173 nursing students in G city. The data collected from August 15, 2021 to August 30, 2021. The study was analyzed using the SPSS 23.0 program. The correlation among intercultural sensitivity, cultural empathy, and multicultural acceptance was analyzed by Pearson's correlation coefficients, and it was analyzed using multiple regression to figure out factors influencing multicultural acceptance. Results : The multicultural acceptance score was above the middle level and differed according to the academic grade (F=8.580, p<.001), major satisfaction (F=5.981, p=.003), interpersonal relations significantly (F=6.837, p=.001). Multicultural acceptance was a significant positive correlation with intercultural sensitivity (r=.544, p<.001), cultural empathy (r=.624, p<.001). As a result of regression analysis, it was confirmed that cultural empathy (β=.477, p<.001) and intercultural sensitivity (β=.212, p<.001) were factors that influence nursing students' multicultural acceptance ; this model could explain 40 %. Conclusion : Factors affecting multicultural acceptance of nursing students are cultural empathy and intercultural sensitivity. Nursing students are encouraged to have multicultural acceptance in terms of satisfaction of cultural empathy and intercultural sensitivity. Through this research requires the fellow study to determine the various factors affecting multicultural acceptance of nursing students. And it is necessary to development education and program that can enhance multicultural acceptance is required.

Purpose : Establishing competency in person-centered care is crucial for providing high-quality nursing care in diverse clinical settings and adapting to changing roles in different situations. This study aimed to explore the level of transcultural self-efficacy, cultural empathy, and person-centered care competency among nursing students, as well as identify the factors influencing their person-centered care competency. The findings will serve as fundamental data to enhance person-centered care competency. Methods : A questionnaire consisting of items on general characteristics, person-centered care competency, transcultural self-efficacy, and cultural empathy was administered to 175 nursing students in G city. Data were collected from March 5, 2023, to March 20, 2023. The collected data were analyzed using the SPSS 23.0 program. Pearson's correlation coefficients were used to examine the correlation among transcultural self-efficacy, cultural empathy, and person-centered care competency. Multiple regression analysis was employed to determine the factors influencing person-centered care competency. Results : The person-centered care competency scores were above the average level and varied according to department satisfaction (F=13.79, p<.001), subjective well-being (t=3.34, p=.015), and interpersonal relations (F=5.74, p=.001). Person-centered care competency exhibited a significant positive correlation with cultural empathy (r=.51, p<.001) and transcultural self-efficacy (r=.49, p<.001). Regression analysis confirmed that cultural empathy (β=.39, p<.001) and transcultural self-efficacy (β=.22, p<.001) were influential factors for nursing students' person-centered care competency, with the model explaining 37 % of the variance. Conclusion : Cultural empathy and transcultural self-efficacy are significant factors influencing the person-centered care competency of nursing students. It is crucial to encourage nursing students to develop person-centered care competency by fostering cultural empathy and transcultural self-efficacy. Further research is needed to identify additional factors affecting person-centered care competency among nursing students. Additionally, the development of education programs aimed at enhancing person-centered care competency is necessary.

This study aimed to investigate the role of scientific empathy in influencing students' productive disciplinary engagement in scientific activities and analyze the key factors of scientific empathy that manifest during this process. Twelve fifth-grade students were divided into three subgroups based on their general empathic abilities. Lessons promoting productive disciplinary engagement, integrating design thinking processes, were conducted. Subgroup discourse analysis during idea generation and prototype stages, two of five problem-solving steps, enabled observation of scientific empathy and practice aspects. The results showed that applying scientific empathy effectively through design thinking facilitated students' productive disciplinary engagement in science. In the idea generation stage, we observed an initial increase followed by a decrease in scientific empathy and practice utterances, while during the prototyping stage, utterance frequency increased, particularly in the later part. However, subgroups with lower empathic abilities displayed decreased discourse frequency in scientific empathy and practice during the prototype stage due to a lack of collaborative communication. Across all empathic ability levels, the students articulated all five key factors of scientific empathy through their utterances in situations involving productive science engagement. In the high empathic ability subgroup, empathic understanding and concern were emphasized, whereas in the low empathic ability subgroup, sensitivity, scientific imagination, and situational interest, factors of empathizing with the research object, were prominent. These results indicate that experiences of scientific empathy with research objects, beyond general empathetic abilities, serve as a distinct and crucial factor in stimulating diverse participation and sustaining students' productive engagement in scientific activities during science classes. By suggesting the potential multidimensional impact of scientific empathy on productive disciplinary engagement, this study contributes to discussions on the theoretical structure and stability of scientific empathy in science education.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the level of biomedical ethics awareness, empathy among college students. The participants were 469 university students in South Korea. The average score for biomedical ethics awareness was $2.89{\pm}.21$ ; The average the scores of empathy was $2.41{\pm}.35$. Biomedical ethics awareness showed a positive correlation with empathy(r=.203, p<.001). Emotional empathy showed a significant effect on biomedical ethics awareness. And the empathic concern of emotional empathy showed a significant effect on right to life fetus, artificial abortion, artificial insemination, prenatal diagnosis of fetus, right to life of newborn, euthanasia, brain death of biomedical ethics awareness. The results of this study suggest that biomedical ethics education to the emotional empathy should need for general university students.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the activation strategies of the inclusive education by sharing information & communication and creating a social disability empathy culture through literature review so that students with disabilities who receive inclusive education in general schools can get along with good friends and participate actively in various school or class events. The results of this study were as follows. First, in terms of volunteer activities of students without disabilities, the meaning, role, and activation strategies of inclusive education support for fostering disability empathy culture are described. Second, in terms of classroom management of classroom teachers, the meaning, role, and activation strategies of inclusive education support for fostering disability empathy culture are described. Third, in terms of special education teachers' role, the meaning, role, and activation strategies of inclusive education support for fostering disability empathy culture are described. Fourth, in terms of school administrators and educational administration institutions, the meaning, role, and activation strategies of inclusive education support for fostering disability empathy culture are described. The results of this study would be used as basic data to spread the disability empathy culture and improve the quality of inclusive education for students with disabilities to have inclusive education in the information society and be integrated into the community successfully.
Recently, almost of the colleges are contrive measures to satisfy the needs of students. The purpose of this study is to find what are the impact factors to the needs of those. To evaluate the factors influencing to students behaviors, it was investigated how much did the 5 variety of Service quality-Tangibles, Assurance, Responsiveness, Empathy, Reliability-and 4 variety of attitude models to depending to the level of students influence the satisfaction of students for the students of W college. In the result, this study shows that 5 variety of Service quality did not impact for the general service quality, but only the Responsiveness and, Empathy have the positive relationship to the satisfaction of students. Also, general service quality and attitude willingness have the positive correlation with the satisfaction of students. And it is investigated that there are significance differences among the general service qualities by the level of students ability.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships between mothers' parental intelligence and children's abilities of self-control and empathy. 180 children aged 5 were selected from 4 kindergartens in G city. The gender breakdown for the sample group was as follows : boys comprised 60.0% (108) and girls comprised 40.0% (72) of the total sample. The Parental Intelligence Scales (PIS) was used to rate mothers' parental intelligence. Children's self-control and empathy were also measured. The SPSS 12.0 program was used for the purposes of analyzing the data. The results of the study were as follows. Firstly, mothers' parental intelligence was related in a general sense with children's self-control. However, such a relationship did not appear between rejection in the area of parental intelligence and self appraisal in self-control, nor did it appear between acceptance in intelligence and emotion in self-control. Secondly, the variable of encouragement was the only one in evidence in terms of mothers' parental intelligence and how it was related with children's empathy.

This study was conducted to investigate the relationships between job stress, stress coping strategies, empathy ability, and burnout in social workers at long-term care facilities. Data was collected from 201 social workers in three cities from March to May 2020 using structured questionnaires. Data was analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlations, and hierarchical multiple regression. Results showed that burnout significantly differed according to age, marital status, and career among the general characteristics. In the relationships between major variables, burnout showed a significant positive correlation with job stress and showed significant negative correlations with stress coping strategies and empathy ability. The major factors affecting burnout were job stress and empathy ability, which explained 72.3% of the variance. The results of this study suggest that job stress and empathy ability are important factors for burnout. Findings indicate a need to decrease job stress and increase empathy ability to prevent the burnout of social workers. Further studies are needed to examine burnout prevention strategies for social workers.

This study was conducted to identify the effect of nurses' empathy on their job stress. The subjects of this study were 192 nurses working at 5 general hospitals. The empathy and job stress were surveyed by using structured questionnaire from June 1 to August 31, 2014. The nurses' overall job stress was 3.86 out of 5 and among the domains of job stress, stress of relationship with patients and their carer was 4.22, stress of relationship with medical doctors was 4.21, and stress related to nursing tasks was 4.01. Factors influencing job stress were gender, pay satisfaction, perceived amount of workload, and fantasy from empathy. These findings suggest that in order to improve clinical nurses' job stress, there should be organizational efforts to regulate the pay level and workload and to develop programs for lowering perceived job stress among nurses by managing fantasy from empathy.
This study is intended to check the empathy and cultural competence of female college students majoring in aviation and tourism service. The number of study subjects was 274. And the descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe test, and pearson correlation coefficient of data was analyzed through SPSS 20.0. According to the results of study, an average mark of empathy was $3.72{\pm}0.35$, and an average mark of cultural competence was $3.48{\pm}0.47$. When the level of difference in empathy and cultural competence was examined according to the general characteristics, the level of empathy showed a significant difference in the purpose of visiting foreign countries and foreign language skills. And the level of cultural competence showed a significant difference in religion, foreign language skills, foreign friend, experience in international exchange, experience in cultural education abroad, a method of cultural education abroad, and a necessity for cultural education abroad. With regard to correlation, there was a positive correlation between empathy and cultural competence(r=.425, p<.001). And in case of sub-attribute, it was shown that the cognitive factor and emotional factor of empathy has a positive correlation with cultural competence. It was verified that an education plan making it possible to improve cultural competence is required by checking a mutual relationship between empathy and cultural competence through these study results.
