중학생의 성별과 양성평등의식 유형에 따른 기술·가정교과에 대한 태도 차이 (Influence of Middle School Students' Gender Type and Gender Equity Awareness on Attitudes toward Technology and Home Economics)

  • Technology and Home Economics are associated with gender-related roles. In this respect, students' attitude toward these subjects may be influenced by gender equity awareness with attitudes that may perpetuate gender-biased images of subjects. This study examined the influence of gender equity awareness of middle school students on attitudes toward Technology and Home Economics. Data were collected through a survey to 442 students from eight purposively sampled middle schools in Seoul. Three gender equity awareness groups were identified through a cluster analysis: Equity in house work group (n=163), Traditional gender role group (n=102), and Equity in all areas group (n=152). The analyses of variances enabled an examination of the effects of gender and gender equity awareness. Differences were found among gender and gender equity awareness groups on attitudes toward Home Economics, but not toward Technology. Girls showed higher preference, higher perceived usefulness than boys, but with a lower importance for career preparation for Home Economics. Traditional gender role group scored the lowest on usefulness and importance for everyday life, yet highest on importance for career preparation. Equity in all areas group perceived lowest importance of Home Economics for career preparation. The results show that Home Economics is more strongly gender-typed than Technology, and that effort is needed to change the gender-biased image of the subject.

자아존중감과 성역할태도가 심리적 복지감에 미치는 영향: 청년기 남녀를 중심으로 (The Effects of Self-Esteem and fender Role Attitudes on the Psychological Well-Being of Youth)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of self-esteem and gender role attitudes on youth's psychological well-being. The subjects of this research were 408 young men and women. All respondents answered by self-report questionnaire. The data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, t-tests, Pearson's correlations, and multiple regressions. The major results of this study were as follows: (a) Self-esteem and psychological well-being of young men and women were high. (b) There were changes toward the non-traditional direction in gender role attitudes of the youth. The young women exhibited more non-traditional gender role attitudes than the young men. (c) Self-esteem and family socioeconomic status showed positive influences on the psychological well-being of youth. However, gender role attitudes were not associated with youth psychological well-being.

색과 문양의 감성 이미지 효과 - 간호사 복을 대상으로- (Image Perception of Nurses' Uniforms according to Colors and Motifs)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of uniform's color and motif on nurse's impression formation. The experimental design was 5×3×2(uniform color×motif ×perceiver's gender) factorial design with a between-subjects design. The experimental materials developed for the study were a set of stimuli and a response scale. The subjects were 738 undergraduate students of Daejon and Chungnam province. The SPSS package was used for data analysis which includes factor analysis, two-way ANOVA, Duncan's multiple range test, and Cronbach's α to measure the reliability. Results were as follows; The image or the stimulus was consisted of the 4 different dimensions(evaluation, sociability, ability, potency). All the independent variables showed some significant impression effects on selected dimensions. The motif and perceiver's gender also showed significant main effects as well as some interaction effects with the color variable on some selected impression dimension and the impression effects of the three variables in relationship to perceiving nurses' images. On a conclusion, these results supported the Gestalt theory.

지각자 성별, 체크무늬의 간격과 색상이 의복이미지에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of the Interval and Color of a Checked Pattern, and of the Perceiver's Gender, on Clothing Image)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of perceiver's gender, interval and color of checked pattern on clothing image. The experimental materials developed for this study were a set of stimulus and response scales. The stimuli were 16 color pictures, in which the perceiver's gender, interval(0.5cm, 1.5cm, 3.5cm, 5.5cm), and color(red, yellow, blue, purple) were manipulated. The 7-point scale was used for evaluation of clothing image. Data were obtained from 192 male college students and 192 female college students living in Seoul, Gwangju, Jinju, and Masan on December 2009. For data analysis, ANOVA and Duncan-test were used by using SPSS program. Results of this study were as follows.; Clothing image according to interval and color of checked pattern consisted of five dimensions of attractiveness, appeal, warmness, modesty, and freshness. Perceiver's gender showed an independent effect on appeal, modesty, and freshness. Interval showed an independent effect on appeal, warmness, modesty, and freshness. Also, interaction effects of Perceiver's gender and interval on appeal and freshness were found. Interaction effects of Perceiver's gender and color on appeal were found.

만 1세 첫째 자녀의 성별과 기질이 한 자녀 부모의 후속출산 계획 및 행동에 미치는 영향 (Effects of the Firstborn's Gender and Temperament on the Fertility Intention and Follow-up Childbirth)

  • Objective: This study investigated the effects of the firstborn's gender and temperament on the fertility intention and follow-up childbirth of parents. Methods: A total 120 firstborns and their mothers were selected from the sample of the Panel Study on Korean Children. Child temperament traits were measured by Early Childhood Behavior Questionnaire(ECBQ) and mothers stated their fertility intention in 2009 when their first child was under 2 years old. Follow-up childbirth of mothers was assessed from the data of PSKC in 2016. Results: The results indicated that there was a significant difference by gender in follow-up birth. Among aspects of temperament, fertility intention was affected by the firstborn's inhibitory control and follow-up birth was affected by the firstborn's gender and discomfort. For mothers with a boy, the firstborn's soothability affected mothers' follow-up childbirth. Conclusion/Implications: These results imply that gender and temperament of the first child are connected to mothers' fertility intention and follow-up childbirth. Extra studies are required to clarify how those factors affect mothers' parenting or psychological status. Meanwhile, the firstborn's gender and temperament should be considered when developing support programs for families with one child in order to increase follow-up birth rate.

기혼근로자의 성역할 태도와 일-가족 지향성이 일-가족 갈등/촉진 및 가족친화제도 이용에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Employees' Gender Role Attitudes, Job Involvement, and Family Involvement on Work-Family Balance)

  • This study examined the effects of employees' gender role attitudes, job involvement, and family involvement on their work-family conflicts, work-family facilitation, and utilization of family-friendly corporate policies. Data was collected from 377 full-time married workers from 262 large (more than 300 employees) and 100 small (fewer than 300 employees) private sector companies. The questionnaire's measurements were based on recommendations from the literature review. The questionnaire consisted of the gender role attitude scales, job and family involvement scales, work-family conflict and facilitation scales, and questions pertaining to the employee's utilization of family-friendly corporate policies. The SPSS 12.0 statistical package was used to analyze the collected data. The study found that employees showed more or less egalitarian gender role attitudes and that they were more involved in their family than their job. The employees' responses showed a low rate of utilizing family-friendly policies, but employees from large companies reported a higher utilization of family-friendly policies than those from small companies. There were also gender differences in employees' gender role attitudes, work and family involvement, and utilization of policies. Male workers held more traditional gender role attitudes, had higher levels of job involvement, and had higher rates of utilization of policies than female employees. Meanwhile, employees with children exhibited more traditional gender role attitudes and higher rates of utilization of policies than those without children. Finally, serial hierarchical regression analyses revealed that employees' more egalitarian gender role attitudes and higher job and family involvement predict higher work-family facilitation, while their gender role attitudes and job and family involvement have no significant influence on work-family conflicts. Also, employees from large companies with high job involvement will have significantly higher utilization rates of family-friendly corporate policies.

소셜커머스 이용의도에 영향을 미치는 요인에 대한 연구 : 성별의 조절효과를 중심으로 (Factors Influencing the Use Intention of Social Commerce : Focusing on the Moderating Effects of Gender)

  • Due to the recent development of SNS(Social Network Service) which is represented by Twitter and Facebook, social commerce market which combines on-line shopping mall and SNS is expanding. With increasing speed of its market, this study is to focus on detecting the crucial variables promoting the use intention, which results in the sustainable competitive advantage in social commerce market. This research empirically analyzed the use intention of social commerce. Also, this study explores the moderating effects of gender in explaining intention to use social commerce. A technology acceptance model is applied for pinpointing the antecedents of intention to use social commerce and for revealing cross-gender differences. The results from a survey of 452 participants reveal that the effects of perceived risk, perceived usefulness, ease for use and subjective norm on intentions to use social commerce differ across gender. Findings imply that the risk-free quality and portrayal of in-group or out-group situations of social commerce need to be communicated to female consumers, along with the social norms of using social commerce. When targeting male consumers, the technological features illustrating the usefulness of social commerce should be focused. This study will provide diverse implications companies providing social commerce services.

청소년들의 소셜 네트워크 사이트 이용과 사회적 자본의 상관관계에 있어서의 성별 및 지역 차이 (Effects of Gender and Region on the Relationships between Teenagers' Use of Social Network Sites and Social Capital)

  • 본 연구는 소셜 네트워크 사이트 이용과 사회적 자본 사이의 관계가 성별과 지역에 따라 어떻게 차이가 나는가에 대해 조사해보고자 했다. 한국 청소년들로부터 수집된 자료를 분석함으로써 유의미한 성별과 지역별 차이를 발견할 수 있었다. 특히 도시에 거주하는 남자 청소년들의 경우, 소셜 네트워크 사이트의 이용은 결속적 그리고 교량적 사회자본에 부정적인 영향을 미쳤다. 이러한 연구결과는 청소년들의 소셜 네트워크 사이트 사용이 청소년들의 개인적인 인간관계에 미치는 영향을 이해하는데 도움을 줄 것이다.

세계화 속의 성의 격차 (Gender Gap in Globalization of Korea)

  • The Purpose or this research is to examine the trend or sender gap within a globalization context from 1993 to 2003 on the perspective of feminists who contend that globalization has negative effects on women on account of its masculine nature against neo-liberal viewpoint emphasizing economic efficiency and rationality. As the result of review of statistical and qualitative resources in workforce, it was found that the gender gap has trended toward increasing in some sectors such as flexible labor and high wage jobs, which shows that gender segregation by irrational culture exists in workforce. The evidence to support the neo-liberal viewpoint supposing that the gender discrimination will disappear was also found in sector of wage. The gender gap in wage has decreased during the period of globalization. The dispute of feminists was partly supported, so it was suggested that the policies for gender empowerment should be enforced to diminish gender gap that would be able to increase in the process of globalization.

성별과 운동참여 형태에 따른 노인의 우울증과 인지기능 (Depression and cognitive function according to gender and exercise participation types in the elderly)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 성별과 운동참여 형태에 따라 노인의 우울증과 인지기능 수준에 차이가 존재하는지 규명하는 것이다. 본 연구의 대상은 2017년에 보건복지부 한국보건사회연구원에서 진행한 노인실태조사에 참여한 만65세 이상의 노인 10,059명이다. 연구대상의 우울증은 SGDS를 활용하여 측정하였고 인지기능은 MMSE-DS를 활용하여 측정하였다. 수집된 데이터는 빈도분석, 신뢰도 분석, 이원분산분석을 활용하여 분석의 목적에 따라 분석하였다. 본 연구를 통하여 나타난 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 성별과 운동참여 여부에 따른 우울증 수준 차이를 분석한 결과, 성별 및 운동참여 여부에 따른 주효과 모두 통계적으로 유의한 것으로 나타났으나 상호작용 효과는 통계적으로 유의하지 않았다. 둘째, 성별과 운동참여 빈도에 따른 우울증 수준 차이를 분석한 결과, 성별에 따른 주효과는 통계적으로 유의한 것으로 나타났으나 운동참여 빈도에 따른 주효과와 상호작용 효과는 통계적으로 유의하지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 성별과 운동참여 시간에 따른 우울증 수준 차이를 분석한 결과, 성별 및 운동참여 시간에 따른 주효과는 통계적으로 유의한 것으로 나타났으나 상호작용 효과는 통계적으로 유의하지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 성별과 운동참여 여부에 따른 인지기능 수준 차이를 분석한 결과, 성별 및 운동참여 여부에 따른 주효과는 통계적으로 유의한 것으로 나타났으며 상호작용 효과도 통계적으로 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 다섯째, 성별과 운동참여 빈도에 따른 인지기능 수준 차이를 분석한 결과, 성별 및 운동참여 빈도에 따른 주효과는 통계적으로 유의한 것으로 나타났으나 상호작용 효과는 통계적으로 유의하지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 여섯째, 성별과 운동참여 시간에 따른 인지기능 수준 차이를 분석한 결과, 성별 및 운동참여 시간에 따른 주효과와 상호작용 효과 모두 통계적으로 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 결론적으로 본 연구를 통해 남성과 여성 모두 운동에 참여하는 것이 우울증 감소 및 인지기능 향상을 돕는다는 것을 알 수 있었고 운동 참여시 여성의 인지기능의 향상 폭이 남성에 비해 더 큰 것을 확인하였다.
