This study investigates on the improvement of inhalation effect of hood which attached new device named as "gas-guide-device" in local exhaust ventilation system for the effective elimination of harmful material and dust in manufacturing factory. The gas-guide-device having a diamond shape is composed of width (b) and two sides of a device (X, Y) and its size is selected the industrial hood under application in manufacturing factory after due consideration. In order to investigate the effect of gas-guide-device, numerical and experimental study is performed that the flow velocity is calculated and is measured by a commercial program "COMSOL $Multiphysics^{TM}$" and a hot wire type of anemometer, respectively. The numerical and experimental results are revealed is a similar pattern and flow velocity has improved to hood attached gas-guide-device. Also, the numerical method and result is also verified the dependance. Moreover, the optimum shape and size of gas-guide-device is revealed that the width (b) and the ratio of two sides of gas-guide-device (X, Y) has 125mm and 4 to 6.
The present study investigates on improvement of inhalation efficiency of hood in ventilation system for elimination of industrial dust. The hood, one of local exhaust ventilation system, has an important function to inhale a pollution source such as harmful dust and industrial waste. In this study, in order to improve the inhalation efficiency of the industrial hood, a new device named "gas-guide-device" was attached to inside of hood. The thermal fluid commercial code "Phoenics ver 3.1" was used to analyze the flow velocity distribution at the hood inlet and around the hood after gas-guide-device was installed. And the flow velocity on each position inside and around the hood was actually measured using the hot wire type anemometer under the same condition as that of numerical analysis. Also, in order to identify the optimum shape of gas-guide-device, numerical analysis and experiments are performed under various conditions and their results are presented. The results of this study revealed that the hood attached with gas-guide-device was higher the inhalation efficiency than that for without one and can be possible to improve the capture velocity of the industrial dust. And the optimum shape of gas-guide-device was identified that the ratio of two sizes of gas-guide-device, X to Y, has 4 to 6 on the basis of the hood size in use and the width (b) of gas-guide-device.
For the design of selective catalytic reactors of NOx by $NH_3$, engineering approach can be performed to determine the reactor shape, mixing device and $NH_3$ injection system. This study shows the optimization of guide vanes to improve the flow pattern near the catalyst layer of SCR in a untility boiler. By varying their spacings and shapes, flow performance of guide vanes was analyzed to achieve an uniform velocity distribution which increases the NOx convesion efficiency, and a flow direction normal to the layer which minimises the erosion by the dust in the flue gas. Including these results, experimental and numerical studies for the SCR design were discussed.

Numerical studies have been carried out on scrubbers, which are after-treatment devices to satisfy strengthened emission regulations for sulfur dioxide and particulate matter. We investigated the problems with existing scrubbers through numerical analysis and designed and analyzed a new swirl-type scrubber that could solve these problems. As a result, with the swirl-type scrubber, exhaust gas formed a vortex in the lower part of the device, and some of this gas was released along the guide vane through the bottom surface. In this case, the pressure gradient in the vertical direction was not large, but a pressure difference between the inside and outside of the baffle was generated. The shape of the exhaust gas stream was investigated, and when water was not sprayed, the exhaust gas flowed constantly to the outlet along the guide vane, in contrast to when water was sprayed. It was confirmed that the shape of the flow was influenced by the guide vane, nozzle arrangement and water pressure. In the case of the swirl-type scrubber, impact on engine back-pressure was minimal, because differential pressure at the inlet and outlet was less than half of that with a conventional scrubber.
A self-travelling sprayer was developed to avoid the exposure of an operator to agricultural chemicals and exhaust gas, to improve safety and to increase working efficiency during the application and transport work in the greenhouses. This system consists of self-travelling system and the control system for application and safety device. The auto-spray car is equipped with a liquid chemical tank of 80l capacity. The travelling system adopted mechanical steering system which link mechanism of front wheel is guided by guide rollers. The sprayer travels along the guiding pipe which is set on the furrow in the greenhouses. The sprayer stops automatically applying and traveling when the liquid chemical tank becomes empty or when the sprayer reach the turning point. The spray booms swings in a vertical plane. The control system of safety devices controls the automatic stop of the sprayer when there is an obstacle on the traveling path, or when the battery becomes discharged. The auto-spray car traveled smoothly and steadily along the guide pipe during traveling straightly and turning on the ground.
Liquid-liquid membrane contactor (LLMC), a device that exchanges dissolved gas molecules between the two sides of a hydrophobic membrane through membrane pores, can be employed to extract ammoniacal nitrogen from a feed solution, which is transported across the membrane and accumulated in a stripping solution. This LLMC process offers the promise of improving the sustainability of the global nitrogen cycle by cost-effectively recovering ammonia from wastewater. Despite recent technological advances in LLMC processes, a comprehensive review of their feasibility for ammonia recovery is rarely found in the literature. Our paper aims to close this knowledge gap, and in addition to analyze the challenges and provide potential solutions for improvement. We begin with discussions on the operational principles of the LLMC process for ammonia recovery and membrane types and membrane configurations commonly used in the process. We then assess the performance of the process by reviewing publications that demonstrate its practical application. Challenges involved in the implementation of the LLMC process, such as membrane fouling, membrane wetting, and chemical requirements, are presented, along with discussions on potential strategies to address each. These strategies, including membrane modification, hybrid process design, and process optimization based on cost-benefit analysis, guide the reader to identify key areas of future research and development.
The issue about the safety management of gas related work has been studied toward a direction to utilize IoT system recently. For this purpose, the matters of user's demand has been deduced through the literature survey, field survey, and professional consultation, by studying the characteristics of worker, work, and work site. In summary, these are the demands for mobile App, 1)a clear arrangement of contents, 2)a design with high readability, 3)a design with low death, 4) securing of user's accessibility, 5)an effective information transmission plan in the work section where it is impossible to operate the mobile device, 6)an activation of alarm function at the section of high working error, 7)a fast two-way transmission and receipt of safety inspection matter needed at work, 8)a selection of images and contents that can guide the situation to the worker in case of accident, 9)an alarm function for the degree of danger in an area of worker's location. Based on these, a basic design of safety application for gas related work has been proposed, that can secure the user accessibility.

Four developed patents have applied for a new type of Composite Cyclone Scrubber followed by the previous research (Cho and Kim, 2017), including dust reducing fan with filters. Regarding target installation and maintenance cost, 64% reduction for investment costs (6.2 billion won vs. 17 billion won) compared to existing road pollution reduction system, while social benefit costs increase by 43% compared to existing road pollution reduction measures (72.6 billion won vs. 50.8 billion won). The composition of the device is an air blower type spiral guide vane, and an injection pressure collecting dust efficiency. A nozzle varies Injection angle and contact range, spray liquid species (waterworks, salty water). The proposed patent tests are circulation water Time-by-Time Spray and collected 41.4% more increased micro dust since the sprayed water meets contaminated gas due to the 45° degree colliding, which is 141% increased conventional dust collector. (Ratio of collection over 85%). As regards the source of collection liquid, circulated rainwater and well water, we expect a huge amount of energy and economically saved eco-friendly system in our patent. Finally, the guided vane and metal filter reduced over 90% micro-dust, while sprayed water cleans the vane and filters, resultantly minimizing the maintenance budget. The preliminary evaluations of the developed design make it possible to reduce not only cheaper maintenance budget due to the characteristic water spraying but the cost of water comes from mainly rain and underground.
Aeronautics engine cooling is one of the biggest problems that engineers have tried to solve since the beginning of human flight. Systems like radiators should solve this purpose and they have been studied extensively and various solutions have been found to aid the heat dissipation in the engine zone. Special interest has been given to air coolers in order to guide the air flow on engine and lower the high temperatures achieved by the engine in flow conditions. The aircraft companies need faster and faster tools to design their solutions so the development of tools that allow to quickly assess the effectiveness of an cooling system is appreciated. This paper tries to develop a methodology capable of providing such support to companies by means of some application examples. In this work the development of a new methodology for the analysis and the design of oil cooling systems for aerospace applications is presented. The aim is to speed up the simulation of the oil cooling devices in different operative conditions in order to establish the effectiveness and the critical aspects of these devices. Steady turbulent flow simulations are carried out considering the air as ideal-gas with a constant-averaged specific heat. The heat exchanger is simulated using porous media models. The numerical model is first tested on Piaggio P180 considering the pressure losses and temperature increases within the heat exchanger in the several operative data available for this device. In particular, thermal power transferred to cooling air is assumed equal to that nominal of real heat exchanger and the pressure losses are reproduced setting the viscous and internal resistance coefficients of the porous media numerical model. To account for turbulence, the k-${\omega}$ SST model is considered with Low- Re correction enabled. Some applications are then shown for this methodology while final results are shown in terms of pressure, temperature contours and streamlines.

Purpose: The patient's position and anatomy during the treatment course little bit varies to some extend due to setup uncertainties and organ motions. These factors could affected to not only the dose coverage of the gross tumor but over dosage of normal tissue. Setup uncertainties and organ motions can be minimized by precise patient positioning and rigid immobilization device but some anatomical site such as prostate, the internal organ motion due to physiological processes are challenge. In planning procedure, the clinical target volume is a little bit enlarged to create a planning target volume that accounts for setup uncertainties and organ motion as well. These uncertainties lead to differences between the calculated dose by treatment planning system and the actually delivered dose. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the differences of interfractional displacement of organ and GTV based on the tomoimages. Materials and Methods: Over the course of 3 months, 3 patients, those who has applied rectal balloon, treated for prostatic cancer patient's tomoimage were studied. During the treatment sessions 26 tomoimages per patient, Total 76 tomoimages were collected. Tomoimage had been taken everyday after initial setup with lead marker attached on the patient's skin center to comparing with C-T simulation images. Tomoimage was taken after rectal balloon inflated with 60 cc of air for prostate gland immobilization for daily treatment just before treatment and it was used routinely in each case. The intrarectal balloon was inserted to a depth of 6 cm from the anal verge. MVCT image was taken with 5 mm slice thickness after the intrarectal balloon in place and inflated. For this study, lead balls are used to guide the registration between the MVCT and CT simulation images. There are three image fusion methods in the tomotherapy, bone technique, bone/tissue technique, and full image technique. We used all this 3 methods to analysis the setup errors. Initially, image fusions were based on the visual alignment of lead ball, CT anatomy and CT simulation contours and then the radiation therapist registered the MVCT images with the CT simulation images based on the bone based, rectal balloon based and GTV based respectively and registered image was compared with each others. The average and standard deviation of each X, Y, Z and rotation from the initial planning center was calculated for each patient. The image fusions were based on the visual alignment of lead ball, CT anatomy and CT simulation contours. Results: There was a significant difference in the mean variations of the rectal balloon among the methods. Statistical results based on the bone fusion shows that maximum x-direction shift was 8 mm and 4.2 mm to the y-direction. It was statistically significant (P=<0.0001) in balloon based fusion, maximum X and Y shift was 6 mm, 16mm respectively. One patient's result was more than 16 mm shift and that was derived from the rectal expansions due to the bowl gas and stool. GTV based fusion results ranging from 2.7 to 6.6 mm to the x-direction and 4.3$\sim$7.8 mm to the y-direction respectively. We have checked rotational error in this study but there are no significant differences among fusion methods and the result was 0.37$\pm$0.36 in bone based fusion and 0.34$\pm$0.38 in GTV based fusion.
