Bangah, one of the herbs grown in Korea, was investigated for its antioxidant activity. The ether extracts of bangah herb was separated into neutral, phenolic, acidic and basic fractions and further separated into subfractions. Antioxidative activities were measured by hydrogen donating activity (HDA), peroxide value (POV), thiobarbituric acid (TBA) value and inhibition activity against lipid peroxidation of rat liver microsomes, The subfraction components were identified by GC/MS and NMR. Phenolic, though being very small in quantity, showed higher antioxidant activity at all assay system by hydrogen donating activity. POV, TBA value and inhibition activity against lipid peroxidation of rat liver microsomes. Five subfractions(P-1, P-2, P-3, P-4 and P-5) were fractionated from phenolic fraction of bangah herbs, and subfraction P-2 among them showed strong antioxidant activity on a level with BHT or gallic acid at each assay system. Four compounds (peak I, peak II, peak III and peak IV) were isolated by gas chromatogram of TMS derivatives of subfraction P-2 and thes compounds were confirmed to be phenolic substance having -OH and COOH group. There subfractions (N-1, N-2 and N-3) were fractionated from neutral fraction of bangah herbs, and subfraction N-2 among them showed highest antioxidant activity and inhibition activity against lipid peroxidation of rat liver microsomes. Subfraction N-2 was indentified to be estragole by H-NMR spectroscopy.
In order to improve flame retardancy, the halogen free organic melamine phosphate(M-P) flame retardant was synthesized from melamine and phosphoric acid by the reaction of precipitation. The ignition test was carried out preparing hybrid flame retardant compound($H_bFRC$) consisting of organic M-P and inorganic Mg$(OH)_2$ as a flame retardant in the polyolefin resins. The flame retardancy and mechanical properties of flame retardant aluminum composite panel($H_bFRC$-ACP) were performed to investigate the possibility of the composite material, which was contained M-P, as a inner core for $H_bFRC$-ACP. For this study, the results of ignition test indicate that a char formation and drip suppressing effect, and combustion time reduced as the content of M-P increased. The limited oxygen index(LOI) values were measured 17.4vol% and 31.5vol% for LDPE only and $H_bFRC$-3(M-P content: 15wt%), respectively. And it was verified that the $H_bFRC$-3 was needed more oxygen quantity with the increase of M-P content when it combustion. Also, the results from thermogravimetric analysis were observed endothermic peak at $350^{\circ}C$ and $550^{\circ}C$, it was confirmed predominant thermal stability though the wide temperature range by the mixture of M-P and Mg$(OH)_2$. The LDPE-ACP (using only LDPE as a inner core), $35.13kW/m^2$ of heat release rate(HRR) and 13.43MJ/m2 of total heat release(THR) were measured while the $H_bFRC$-ACP, $10.44kW/m^2$ of HRR and 1.84MJ/m2 of THR were measured by results of cone calorimeter test. In case of $H_bFRC$-ACP, the average gas emission amount of CO and $CO_2$ could be decreased down to 25% and 20%, respectively, in comparison with LDPE-ACP. The mechanical properties such as tensile strength, bending strength and adhesion strength of $H_bFRC$-ACP were revealed slightly high values $54N/mm^2$, $152N/mm^2$ and 120N/25mm, respectively, compared with LDPE-ACP. It was confirmed that flame retardancy was improved with the synergy effect because of char formation by M-P and hydrolysis by Mg$(OH)_2$. The result of this study suggest that $H_bFRC$ can be applied for an adequate halogen free flame retardant composite material as a inner core for ACP.
The composition of the neutral lipids in the free and bound lipids from four varieties of experimentally cultivated potatoes were identified and quantified by thin layer- and gas-liquid chromatographies. The results were summarized as follows ; 1. The neutral lipids contained in the free and bound lipids were fractionated and identified as esterified sterol, triglyceride, diglyceride, free fatty acid, and free sterol, of which triglyceride and esterified sterol were most abundant. Meanwhile, the triglyceride and esterified sterol contents in the free lipid to the total lipid quantity were 10 and 2.7 % respectively, approximately 3 times higher than the 3.0 and 0.8 % contained in the bound lipid. 2. The fatty acid composition of the neutral lipids in the free and bound lipids was the same as that of the total free and bound lipids. The only difference was that content of saturated fatty acid was lower rate in the neutral lipid of the free lipid than in the total free lipid, whereas the unsaturated fatty acid was more abundant in the neutral lipid of the free lipid. Fatty acid composition of individual neutral lipid was of almost the same pattern as that of the total neutral lipid.
What is attempted here is to find out an optimum method for the design of physical environments that could save human energy expenditures and safely perform household duties. There are, if any, very little amount of research done in this area. This is particulary so when the work relates to the designing of household storage facilities in the light of the energy metabolism of human body. The first step to this study, therefore, is to find out the ways by which we can determine the energy metabolism of human body accurately. To measure the volume and the concentration of human respiration continuously and automatically, a new apparatus is selected here. This includes the recording system with the Wright Respirometer and the Expired Gas Analyzer as well as the computer system to multiply volume by concentration of human respiration and to integrate them for a given time. Then, the author experimented on the reliability of this apparatus and came to the conclusion that this apparatus satisfied our need to research the energy metabolism of human body. Next, the general plan and procedures to experiment with this apparatus have been determined as follows: 1) subjects are three young and sound females. Their physical characteristics are shown in Table 1 and most approximates the standard characteristics of Japanese females, 2) height of open shelves is selected in such away as to correspond to the respective height of each subject(see Table 2), 3) utensils to be stored are box shaped object, which weight is 0.5kg, 1.0kg, 2.0kg or 3.0kg, 4) working motions are given while one or two hands as to place utensil on each shelf from the standard working board, 85 cm in height and then to place back it on the board from the shelf and repeated in constant velocity as 10 times per a minute, 5) each posture of motion is chosen by each subject in free, 6) procedures of measurement of human energy metabolism ard shown at(6), 1, Section 3 as specific methods for using this apparatus. Findings of this study are as follows: 1. Human energy expenditures for storing utensils on shelves by each subject are shown in quantity more accurately than in any other studies, under varying conditions about height of shelves, load of utensils and working motion with one hand and two hands (see Fig. 8~13 and Table 3). 2. Experimental formulae of human energy expenditure for that work are shown as formula (8), (9) and (10), to generalize results of 1. and to apply those for working motion under given conditions. 3. As results of analysis on gained data, we are able to show the standard model of human energy expenditures for storing untensils on shelves by the standard Japanese female (see Table 7 and Fig. 14).

The effect of the precipitator (NaOH, $NH_4OH$) and the amount of the precipitator (150, 200, 250, 300 ml) on the formation of $Fe_3(PO_4)_2$, which is the precursor used for cathode material $LiFePO_4$ in Li-ion rechargeable batteries was investigated by the co-precipitation method. A pure precursor of olivine $LiFePO_4$ was successfully prepared with coprecipitation from an aqueous solution containing trivalent iron ions. The acid solution was prepared by mixing 150 ml $FeSO_4$(1M) and 100 ml $H_3PO_4$(1M). The concentration of the NaOH and $NH_4OH$ solution was 1 M. The reaction temperature (25$^{\circ}C$) and reaction time (30 min) were fixed. Nitrogen gas (500 ml/min) was flowed during the reaction to prevent oxidation of $Fe^{2+}$. Single phase $Fe_3(PO_4)_2$ was formed when 150, 200, 250 and 300 ml NaOH solutions were added and 150, 200 ml $NH_4OH$ solutions were added. However, $Fe_3(PO_4)_2$ and $NH_4FePO_4$ were formed when 250 and 300 ml $NH_4OH$ was added. The morphology of the $Fe_3(PO_4)_2$ changed according to the pH. Plate-like lenticular shaped $Fe_3(PO_4)_2$ formed in the acidic solution below pH 5 and plate-like rhombus shaped $Fe_3(PO_4)_2$ formed around pH 9. For the $NH_4OH$, the pH value after 30 min reaction was higher with the same amount of additions of NaOH and $NH_4OH$. It is believed that the formation mechanism of $Fe_3(PO_4)_2$ is quite different between NaOH and $NH_4OH$. Further investigation on this mechanism is needed. The prepared samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and the pH value was measured by pH-Meter.

Various Phellinus species (Hymenochaetaceae) including P. linteus, P. baumii, P. pini, and P. igniarius of domestic and foreign products, were examined by gas chromatography to validate their composition of crude polysaccharides. The crude polysaccharide fraction, which is known to be one of the physiologically active fractions, were prepared by a cold ethanol precipitation method and the yield of the crude polysaccharide fractions of P. linteus, P. baumii, P. pini, and P. igniarius were 15.0%, 5.1%, 6.3% and 5.7%, respectively. The total monosaccharide amount of the crude polysaccharide fraction of P. linteus was 148.713 mg/g (dry weight of mushroom) while those of P. baumii, P. pini and P. igniarius were 29.022 mg/g, 29.222 mg/g and 1.546 mg/g, respectively. Although the major monosaccharide of all Phellinus mushrooms was glucose, there were remarkable differences in the absolute quantity of each monosaccharide. P. linteus included plenty of monosaccharides except mannose and ribose in comparison with P. baumii and P. pini. The absolute quantities of monosaccharides of P. baumii and P. pini were nearly similar except arabinose. The total monosaccharides of P. igniarius were minimal, but the portions of galactose and mannose in P. igniarius were greater than in the other species.

In this study, experimental and numerical studies for the synthesis of carbon nanotube(CNT) in methane counterflow diffusion flame have been performed. Methane mixed with acetylene($C_2H_2$) was used as a fuel gas and ferrocene was used as a catalyst for synthesis of CNT. The major parameters was $C_2H_2$ mixing rate and mixing rates were 2 %, 6 %, and 10 %. Characteristics of CNT formation on grid were analyzed from SEM images. the chemical reaction mechanism adopted is GRI-MECH 3.0. Numerical results showed that flame temperature and CO mole fraction were increased with increasing acetylene mixing rate. Experimental results showed that the CNT synthesis in 2% acetylene mixture flame better than that of 6% and 10% acetylene mixture flames. It can be considered that 6% and 10% acetylene mixture flames generated the excessive carbon source and then it interrupted the supplement of the carbon source into ferrocene catalyst. It can be found that the supply of appropriate quantity of carbon source can make effect to synthesis of high purity of CNT.

OSC is a type of supply chain and value chain that spans the entire process of construction production (planning, design, construction, maintenance, etc.). It is a method of producing the final object by manufacturing it in a factory, transporting it to the site, installing and construction. This research as is the construction cost was compared for each case A, which applied the PC method, and case B, which applied the RC method. In the case of applying the PC method (excluding the PC design cost), compared to the case where only the RC method was applied, the frame construction cost per unit quantity (m3) increased by about 70% (50% based on the total RC construction type). Of the total frame construction cost of PC method application, PC accounted for 90.2%, 'PC manufacturing cost' 54.8%, 'PC assembly cost' 28.5%, and 'transportation cost' accounted for 6.89%. Also a decision-making framework that can consider both costs and benefits was established. In the case of benefits, the construction period, defect repair, disaster occurrence, energy efficiency, noise/dust/waste, and greenhouse gas emission indicators reflecting OSC technical advantages were presented. It can contribute to providing a basis for helping decision-making on the introduction of PC apartment houses using OSC.

The intensity of fishy odor in eggs, which differs depending on the poultry type and individual perception, can be due to many factors including trimethylamine (TMA) which has been identified as the main. Notably, riboflavin can increase the activity of flavin-containing monooxygenase 3, the enzyme responsible for converting TMA into odorless trimethylamine-N-oxide. This study aimed to analyze the TMA content in egg yolk, evaluate its contribution to fishy odor, and develop a method to prevent this undesired odor. Solid-phase microextraction-gas chromatography/mass spectrometry was used to detect and quantify volatile compounds in egg yolk from hens fed a standard TMA-rich diet and hens fed a riboflavin-supplemented diet. To compare the relative content of volatile substances between eggs, a correlation study was performed using an electronic nose. Higher concentration of TMA (1.06 ± 0.12 mg/kg) was detected in egg yolks obtained from hens fed a normal diet than those fed a riboflavin-supplemented diet. Overall, this study suggests that riboflavin affects the quantity and quality of volatile substances, including TMA, present in eggs and we expect these findings to improve the quality and reduce the fishy odor of eggs.
The aim of this study was to evaluate and establish of emission test method for liquid phase building materials such as paint, adhesive, sealant by emission cell. A small-scale emission chamber and emission cell were used to evaluate emission of TVOC from paint, adhesive, sealant. The quantity of TVOC emission were measured by a gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS). Background concentration of TVOC was below $10{\mu}g/m^3$ in the emission chamber and cell. Air tightness and recovery in chamber and cell showed good results. The recovery of thermal desorber for toluene and n-dodecane were about 120%. The repeatability of response factor and retention time in GC/MS below 30%. The method detection limit of VOCs ranged 0.04~8.82 ng. The concentration of TVOC emission using emission cell was 1.35~1.41 times higher than emission chamber. The correlation of TVOC emission using chamber and cell method was significantly high (r=0.91~0.97).
