  • This Study analyzes dynamic of a puzzle game play by applying entropy law. Entropy is a concept that a quantitative measure of the amount of thermal energy not available to do work in a closed system. And amount of entropy can be measured only if we see the closed system as whole, the field. Puzzle game is also closed system. When player moves an object in game, it change a relationship among objects in play field. In , through an act of position change, player sustains a play field active. In respect of an entropy, this kind of play is considered as pursue of usability of the energy. In , player piles up objects without empty space. In respect of an entropy, this kind of play is considered as pursue of the order. Likewise, puzzle game play can be considered as simulation of a human's pursue of the order in an entropy increasing physical world. And this pursue is a driving force of puzzle game play.

  • This study has made an in-depth analysis of the 'Puzzle System' which is a characteristic structural unit of the Adventure Game, and concentrates on the mechanism where the experience arouses in the player a 'desire (quasi-need) to finish' that leads to one's immersion and engagement in the game. In the course of conducting this study, documentary records were consulted and also this writer personally played video games to learn the component elements and fundamental characteristics of the Adventure Games and to experience how the player was immersed in the game. Thus, the Puzzle System in the Adventure Game was defined and an analysis was made of the structure and course of play where the puzzle part and the narrative part within the system organically interacted between them in the system. In order to confirm the formation and effects of 'desire to finish' shown in the hypothetic assumptions, two experiment-purpose game units were produced, one with dramatic cut scenes and the other without them, so that differences between them could be found. I also conducted an experiment to learn the generation and effect of the 'desire to finish' of the Puzzle elements by using different games with a varying degree of difficulty.

  • In action games such as shooting games or platform games, dodging enemy objects is crucial since the player character dies or loses energy when it collides with any enemy object. In this paper, we investigates how the difficulty of these games changes according to the existence of salient objects. Since salient objects attract the player's attention, other non-salient objects may be unattended by the player, resulting in failing to dodge them. We experimented on the influence of salient objects on the difficulty of a game, and found out that the subjects who played the game without salient objects performed better than the subjects who played the game with salient objects. This paper investigates a human perceptual issue that could affect the game difficulty and suggest a potential guideline for game design and planning.

  • In the middle and late period of MMORPG, as more and more time and energies are repeatedly consumed due to Grinding, it is easy for the players to feel bored and quit the game. This paper mainly studies the differences in preferences of four types of players for MMORPG grinding types. Apart from that, SPSS software is used to make descriptive analysis, credibility analysis, and one-way analysis of variance on the 200 survey sample data. Based on the content of the experimental results, this study proposes an optimized design plan for MMORPG grinding from the perspective of player tendency.

  • Many game and financial apps have emulator detection functionality to defend against dynamic reverse engineering attacks. However, existing Android emulator detection methods have limitations in detecting the latest mobile game emulators that are similar to actual devices. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a method to effectively detect Android emulators for mobile games based on Houdini module and strings of a library. The proposed method detects the two emulators, Nox and LD Player through specific strings included in libc.so of bionic, and an analysis of the system call execution process and memory mapping associated with the Houdini module.

  • In this paper, the instrument for scientific education in elementary school is developed with the application of basic robot technology for coming IT future world. Particularly, a kind of robot game to fun a race with each other is planed to give a motive or interest in scientific education. This robot game is played with two robots per player, One robot is moved wirelessly with a remote controller and the other robot is moved automatically with intelligence given by computer program made by a player. This game system will be in spotlight as multi-objective educational system not only to teach basic technology of IT, but also to improve the ability for logical and creative thought in elementary school students.

  • In the Poolco model, the bidding game is executed periodically. The player participating to the bidding game accumulates the information of others' strategies and payoffs through the repeated process. Thereby, he is able to map out how he gets his maximum profit, and proceed to the optimal strategy region. This paper shows the algorithm for a player to determine his strategy in t period based the information of the game results of t-1, t-2 period. And this algorithm can be formulated by using Dynamic game theory.

  • Nash Equilibrium(NE) is essential to investigate a participant's bidding strategy in a competitive electricity market. Congestion on a transmission line makes it difficult to compute the NE due to causing a mixed strategy. In order to compute the NE of a multi-player game, some heuristics are proposed with concepts of a key player and power transfer distribution factor in other studies. However, generation capacity constraints are not considered and make it more difficult to compute the NE in the heuristics approach. This paper addresses an effect of generation capacity limits on the NE, and suggest a solution technique for the mixed strategy NE including generation capacity constraints as two heuristic rules. It is reported in this paper that a role of the key player who controls congestion in a NE can be transferred to other player depending on the generation capacity of the key player. The suggested heuristic rules are verified to compute the mixed strategy NE with a consideration of generation capacity constraints, and the effect of the generation constraints on the mixed strategy NE is analyzed in simulations of IEEE 30 bus systems.

  • This study aims at empiricallly designing method to increase player's play capability through determining of the relations of player's behavior pattern and emotion factors when having gameplay experiences in MMORPG. For modeling emotion factors on gameplay, Our preliminary studies are considered in the process of rule-based systems on cognitive science approach. These study estabilished game architecture process applied of player's cognitieve emotion reactions in specific situation of role playing games that have most noticeable interaction with players based on quest system. This approach is expected to extend instant responses, which can be controlled behind all of anti-main behavior pattern and main behavior pattern in game playing. Therefore, such study is meaningful that is proposed the analysis framework of player's emotion factors to design game playing capability in game interactions.

  • In order to improve players' satisfaction with the game NPC (Non Plyer Character), a Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was made, and NPC design elements were analyzed. First, extract the design elements (entertainment, artistry, interaction, and presence) that affect player satisfaction. And it is assumed that these factors will affect the satisfaction of players, and empirical research is carried out through quantitative research ideas. The results of the analysis of the questionnaire survey data show that four elements have a meaningful impact on player satisfaction, and artistry has the greatest impact on player satisfaction. Finally, according to the analysis results, a proposal for NPC design is proposed. It is expected that this research will provide a reference frame for the design direction of NPC in the future.
