  • The main object of this work is the development of an intelligent multi-sensor integration and fusion model that uses fuzzy inference system. Sensor data from different types of sensors are integrated and fused together based on the confidence which is not typically used in traditional data fusion methods. The information is fed as input to a fuzzy inference system(FIS). The output of the FIS is weights that are assigned to the different sensor data reflecting the confidence En the sensor´s behavior and performance.   • 본 논문은 능동카메라가 장착된 이동로봇의 장애물 회피를 위한 퍼지추론방법 제시하였다. 영상센서를 이용하여 상황적 판단에 근거한 명령융합을 사용하여 미지의 환경에서의 목적지까지의 지능적인 탐색을 수행하도록 하였다. 본 연구를 검증하기 위하여 환경모델과 센서데이터에 기반 한 이동로봇의 경로생성을 위한 물리적 센서융합을 시도하지 않고, 환경에 따른 각각의 로봇의 주행행동을 제어하기 위한 명령융합 적용하였다. 주행을 위한 전략으로는 목적지 접근과 장애물 회피를 수행할 수 있도록 퍼지규칙 조합을 통해 판단하도록 수행하였다. 제안한 방법을 검증하기 위하여 영상데이터를 사용한 성공적인 주행 실험 결과를 제시하였다.

레이더/카메라 센서융합을 이용한 전방차량 충돌경보 시스템 (Forward Collision Warning System based on Radar driven Fusion with Camera)

  • This paper describes a Forward Collision Warning (FCW) system based on the radar driven fusion with camera. The objective of FCW system is to provide an appropriate alert with satisfying the evaluation scenarios of US-NCAP and a driver acceptance. For this purpose, this paper proposed a data fusion algorithm and a collision warning algorithm. The data fusion algorithm generates information of fusion target depending on the confidence of camera sensor. The collision warning algorithm calculates indexes and determines an appropriate alert-timing by using analysis results of manual driving data. The FCW system with the proposed data fusion and collision warning algorithm was investigated via scenarios of US-NCAP and a real-road driving. It is shown that the proposed FCW system can improve the accuracy of an alarm-timing and reduce the false alarm in real roads.

비가우시안 잡음 채널을 갖는 무선 센서 네트워크의 준 최적화 결정 융합에 관한 연구 (Suboptimal Decision Fusion in Wireless Sensor Networks under Non-Gaussian Noise Channels)

  • 본 논문에서는 무선 센서 네트워크에서 비 가우시안 채널 환경에서, 결정 융합 검출 규칙에 관한 연구를 수행하였다. 결정 융합에 대한 잡음 분포의 테일 특성이 갖는 영향을 고려하기 위하여 exponentially-tailed 분포를 사용하였다. 페이딩과 잡음 채널로 구성된 병렬 결정 융합 모델로부터 우도비율 기반 융합 규칙을 Neyman-Pearson 평가 하에서 최적화 규칙으로 고려하였으며, 이 최적화 규칙으로부터 높은 신호대 잡음비와 낮은 신호대 잡음비 근사를 통하여 몇 가지 준 최적화 규칙들을 구하였다. 또한 최소한의 사전 정보를 가지고 강인한 검파 성능을 제공하기 위하여 리미터 형태의 간략화 된 준 최적화 검출 규칙을 제안하였다. 모의실험을 통하여 결정 융합 규칙들의 성능을 비교 분석 하였으며 실험 결과들로부터 제안된 리미터 형태의 결정 융합 규칙의 강인성을 입증하였다.

Application of Random Forests to Assessment of Importance of Variables in Multi-sensor Data Fusion for Land-cover Classification

  • A random forests classifier is applied to multi-sensor data fusion for supervised land-cover classification in order to account for the importance of variable. The random forests approach is a non-parametric ensemble classifier based on CART-like trees. The distinguished feature is that the importance of variable can be estimated by randomly permuting the variable of interest in all the out-of-bag samples for each classifier. Two different multi-sensor data sets for supervised classification were used to illustrate the applicability of random forests: one with optical and polarimetric SAR data and the other with multi-temporal Radarsat-l and ENVISAT ASAR data sets. From the experimental results, the random forests approach could extract important variables or bands for land-cover discrimination and showed reasonably good performance in terms of classification accuracy.

  • Advances in MEMS and CMOS technologies have motivated the development of low cost/power sensors and wireless multimedia sensor networks (WMSN). The WMSNs were created to ubiquitously harvest multimedia content. Such networks have allowed researchers and engineers to glimpse at new Machine-to-Machine (M2M) Systems, such as remote monitoring of biosignals for telemedicine networks. These systems require the acquisition of a large number of data streams that are simultaneously generated by multiple distributed devices. This paradigm of data generation and transmission is known as event-streaming. In order to be useful to the application, the collected data requires a preprocessing called data fusion, which entails the temporal alignment task of multimedia data. A practical way to perform this task is in a centralized manner, assuming that the network nodes only function as collector entities. However, by following this scheme, a considerable amount of redundant information is transmitted to the central entity. To decrease such redundancy, data fusion must be performed in a collaborative way. In this paper, we propose a collaborative data alignment approach for event-streaming. Our approach identifies temporal relationships by translating temporal dependencies based on a timeline to causal dependencies of the media involved.

센서융합을 이용한 모바일로봇 실내 위치인식 기법 (An Indoor Localization of Mobile Robot through Sensor Data Fusion)

  • This paper proposes a low-complexity indoor localization method of mobile robot under the dynamic environment by fusing the landmark image information from an ordinary camera and the distance information from sensor nodes in an indoor environment, which is based on sensor network. Basically, the sensor network provides an effective method for the mobile robot to adapt to environmental changes and guides it across a geographical network area. To enhance the performance of localization, we used an ordinary CCD camera and the artificial landmarks, which are devised for self-localization. Experimental results show that the real-time localization of mobile robot can be achieved with robustness and accurateness using the proposed localization method.

  • 다중센서 시스템에서 센서 바이어스를 제거하는 센서 등록 과정은 각각의 센서가 공통된 좌표를 갖게 하기 위해 반드시 필요하다. 만약 센서 등록 과정을 적절하게 처리하지 않는다면, 거대한 추적 에러 또는 같은 목표물을 향한 다수의 허수 트랙이 발생하게 되어 추적에 실패하게 된다. 특히, 발사체 추적에 있어서 각각의 추적 장비는 반드시 적절한 센서등록 과정을 거쳐야 하며, 이 후 다중센서 융합알고리즘을 활용하면 발사체 추적 성능을 높이고 다중 추적 시스템에 정확한 지향입력으로 활용 가능하게 된다. 본 논문에서는 실시간 바이어스 추정/제거 알고리즘과 비동기 다중 센서 융합 기법을 제안하였다. 제안된 바이어스 추정 알고리즘은 GPS와 다중 레이더 간의 의사 바이어스 측정치를 활용하였고, 비동기 센서 융합알고리즘 적용을 통해 추적 성능을 향상하였다.

시전달 측정치 융합에 기반한 압축필트 (Compression Filters Based on Time-Propagated Measurement Fusion)

  • To complement the conventional fusion methodologies of state fusion and measurement fusion, a time-propagated measurement fusion methodology is proposed. Various aspects of common process noise are investigated regarding information preservation. Based on time-propagated measurement fusion methodology, four compression filters are derived. The derived compression filters are efficient in asynchronous sensor fusion and fault detection since they maintain correct statistical information. A new batch Kalman recursion is proposed to show the optimality under the time-propagated measurement fusion methodology. A simple simulation result evaluates estimation efficiency and characteristic.

역공학에서 센서융합에 의한 효율적인 데이터 획득 (Efficient Digitizing in Reverse Engineering By Sensor Fusion)

  • This paper introduces a new digitization method with sensor fusion for shape measurement in reverse engineering. Digitization can be classified into contact and non-contact type according to the measurement devices. Important thing in digitization is speed and accuracy. The former is excellent in speed and the latter is good for accuracy. Sensor fusion in digitization intends to incorporate the merits of both types so that the system can be automatized. Firstly, non-contact sensor with vision system acquires coarse 3D point data rapidly. This process is needed to identify and loco]ice the object located at unknown position on the table. Secondly, accurate 3D point data can be automatically obtained using scanning probe based on the previously measured coarse 3D point data. In the research, a great number of measuring points of equi-distance were instructed along the line acquired by the vision system. Finally, the digitized 3D point data are approximated to the rational B-spline surface equation, and the free-formed surface information can be transferred to a commercial CAD/CAM system via IGES translation in order to machine the modeled geometric shape.
