  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the first birthday Hanboks on Internet shopping malls and to find the reason why the costume has various types. From April to May 2012, first birthday costumes were sold on 154 Internet shopping mall sites. On 48 of the shopping malls, traditional Hanboks were sold, on 33 of the shopping malls, fusion Hanboks were sold, and on 73 of the shopping malls, Western formal wear was sold. The percentage of the Hanboks and Western costumes for the first birthday was almost the same. Boys costumes in the traditional Hanbok consisted of 'Magoja, Joggi, Jeogori, and Baji" or 'Baeja, Jeogori, and Baji" with Jeonbok or Sagyusam. Boys' headgear consisted of Bokgun and Hogun. Girls' costumes in the traditional Hanbok consisted of 'Jeogori, Chima' or 'Dangui, Chima or Seuranchima'. Girls' headgear was Gulle, Jobawui, and Baessidaenggi. Boys' costumes in the fusion Hanbok consisted of 'Jeogori, Baji, and Wanggunmo' which is different from the traditional Hanbok in materials, colors, and parts of construction. Girls' costumes in the fusion Hanbok could be divided into 3 different types; a modified traditional skirt, Chima, 'Chima and Jeogori" with new materials and colors, and Western dress with traditional materials. The first birthday Hanboks on the Internet shopping malls are simple and convenient compared to the traditional ones. Furthermore, parts of the costumes are influenced by some popular historical dramas. One of the reasons why the costumes have changed is because the customers have few experiences about traditional Korean costumes and their interests have been affected by the modern media.

  • Optical camera communication (OCC) is an extension of Visible Light Communication. Different from traditional visible light communication, optical camera communications is an almost no additional cost technology by taking the advantage of build-in camera in devices. It was became a candidate for communication protocol for IoT. Camera module can be easy attached to IoT device, because it is small and flexible. Furthermore almost smartphone equip one or two camera for both back and font side with high quality and resolution. It can be utilized for receiving the data from LED or positioning. Actually, OCC combines illumination and communication. It can supply communication for special areas or environment where do not allow Radio frequency such as hospital, airplane etc. There are many concept and experiment be proposed. In this paper we proposed utilizing Android smart-phone camera for receiver and introduce new approach in modulation scheme for LED at transmitter. It also show how Manchester coding can be used encode bits while at the same time being successfully decoded by Android smart-phone camera. We introduce new data frame format for easy decoded and can be achieve high bit rate. This format can be easy to adapt to performance limit of Android operator or embedded system.

  • In recent years, the number of single-person elderly households has increased, but when an emergency situation occurs inside the house in the case of single-person households, it is difficult to inform the outside world. Various smart home solutions have been proposed to detect emergency situations in single-person households, but it is difficult to use video media such as home CCTV, which has problems in the privacy area. Furthermore, if only a single sensor is used to analyze the abnormal situation of the elderly in the house, accurate situational analysis is limited due to the constraint of data amount. In this paper, therefore, we propose an algorithm of abnormal situation detection fusion inside the house by fusing 2DLiDAR, dust, and voice sensors, which are closely related to everyday life while protecting privacy, based on their correlations. Moreover, this paper proves the algorithm's reliability through data collected in a real-world environment. Adnormal situations that are detectable and undetectable by the proposed algorithm are presented. This study focuses on the detection of adnormal situations in the house and will be helpful in the lives of single-household users.

  • Observers usually experience visual fatigue when they watch contents displayed on 3D display. There has been various research on visual fatigue incurred in stereoscopic displays that use 3D glasses, but relatively less studies have been done in the area of autostereoscopic displays. i3D system refers to interactive 3D system that makes it possible for users to interact with contents using their hands. Current research measured visual fatigue that users experience from i3D under various visual environments. We examined the effects of viewing distance, disparities and visual orientation on visual fatigue in i3D. The results indicated that visual fatigue decreased with longer distance and smaller disparity. Visual fatigue increased with angle when 3D fusion was unstable. In addition, there was an interaction effect between angle and distance in which visual fatigue increased with distance under stable 3D fusion but there was no difference in visual fatigue as a function of distance when 3D fusion was unstable. These results would be importantly used to develop autostereoscopic displays that minimize visual fatigue.

  • Pyridoxine-5-P oxidase catalyses the terminal step in the biosynthesis of pyridoxal-S-P, the biologically active form of vitamin $B_6$ Which acts as an essential cofactor. Here, a human brain pyridoxine-5-P oxidase gene was fused with a gene fragment encoding the HIV-1 Tat protein transduction domain (RKKRRQRRR) in a bacterial expression vector to produce a genetic in-frame Tat-pyridoxine-5-P oxidase fusion protein. Expressed and purified Tat-pyridoxine-5-P oxidase fusion protein transduced efficiently into PC12 cells in a time- and dose-dependent manner when added exogenously to culture media. Once inside the cells, the transduced Tat-pyridoxine-5-P oxidase protein showed catalytic activity and was stable for 48 h. Moreover, the formation of pyridoxal-5-P was increased by adding exogenous Tat-pyridoxine-5-P oxidase to media pre-treated with the vitamin $B_6$ precursor pyridoxine. In addition, the intracellular concentration of pyridoxal-S-P was markedly increased when Tat-pyridoxal kinase was transduced together with Tat-pyridoxine-5-P oxidase into cells. These results suggest that the transduction of Tat-pyridoxine-5-P oxidase fusion protein presents a means of regulating the level of pyridoxal-5-P and of replenishing this enzyme in various neurological disorders related to vitamin $B_6$.

  • Although the incidence and severity of atopic dermatitis (AD) is steadily increasing at an alarming rate, its pathogenic mechanisms remain poorly understood yet. Recently, we found that the expression of Grb7 protein was markedly decreased in AD patients using proteomic analysis. In the present study, human Grb7 gene was fused with PEP-1 peptide in a bacterial expression vector to produce a genetic in-frame PEP-1-Grb7 fusion protein. The expressed and purified PEP-1-Grb7 fusion proteins transduced efficiently into skin cells in a time- and dose-dependent manner when added exogenously in culture media. Once inside the cells, the transduced PEP-1-Grb7 protein was stable for 48 h. In addition, transduced PEP-1-Grb7 fusion protein markedly increased cell viability in macrophage RAW 264.7 cells treated with LPS by inhibition of the COX-2 expression level. These results suggest that the PEP-1-Grb7 fusion protein can be used in protein therapy for inflammatory skin disorders, including AD.

  • Arginine deiminase (ADI), an arginine-degrading enzyme, has anti-proliferative and anti-tumor activities and is capable of inhibiting the production of nitric oxide (NO). Modulation of nitric oxide (NO) production is considered a promising approach for the treatment of various diseases including cancer, inflammation and neuronal disorders. In this study, an ADI gene was fused with an HIV-1 Tat peptide in a bacterial expression vector to produce an genetic in-frame Tat-ADI fusion protein. When added exogenously to the culture media, the expressed and purified Tat-ADI fusion proteins were efficiently transduced into macrophage Raw 264.7 cells in a time- and dose-dependent manner. Furthermore, transduced Tat-ADI fusion proteins markedly increased cell viability in cells treated with lipopolysaccharide (LPS). This increase in viability was mediated by an inhibition of NO production. These results suggest that this Tat-ADI fusion protein can be used in protein therapies of NO-related disorders such as cancer, inflammation and neuronal diseases.
