The present research study emphasizes the utilization of mathematical simulation on a nanoelectromechanical systems (NEMS) sensor to facilitate the detection of injuries in players and equipment. Specifically, an investigation is conducted on the thermal buckling behavior of a small-scale truncated conical, cylindrical beam, which is fabricated using porous functionally graded (FG) material. The beam exhibits non-uniform characteristics in terms of porosity, thickness, and material distribution along both radial and axial directions. To assess the thermal buckling performance under various environmental heat conditions, classical and first-order nonlocal beam theories are employed. The governing equations for thermal stability are derived through the application of the energy technique and subsequently numerically solved using the extended differential quadratic technique (GDQM). The obtained results are comprehensively analyzed, taking into account the diverse range of effective parameters employed in this meticulous study.
In the current paper, an exact solution method is carried out for analyzing the thermo-mechanical vibration of curved FG nano-beams subjected to uniform thermal environmental conditions, by considering porosity distribution via nonlocal strain gradient beam theory for the first time. Nonlocal strain gradient elasticity theory is adopted to consider the size effects in which the stress for not only the nonlocal stress field but also the strain gradients stress field is considered. It is perceived that during manufacturing of functionally graded materials (FGMs) porosities and micro-voids can be occurred inside the material. Material properties of curved porous FG nanobeam are assumed to be temperature-dependent and are supposed to vary through the thickness direction of beam which modeled via modified power-law rule. Since variation of pores along the thickness direction influences the mechanical and physical properties, porosity play a key role in the mechanical response of curved FG nano-structures. The governing equations and related boundary condition of curved porous FG nanobeam under temperature field are derived via the energy method based on Timoshenko beam theory. An analytical Navier solution procedure is utilized to achieve the natural frequencies of porous FG curved nanobeam supposed to thermal loading. The results for simpler states are confirmed with known data in the literature. The effects of various parameters such as nonlocality parameter, porosity volume fractions, thermal effect, gradient index, opening angle and aspect ratio on the natural frequency of curved FG porous nanobeam are successfully discussed. It is concluded that these parameters play key roles on the dynamic behavior of porous FG curved nanobeam. Presented numerical results can serve as benchmarks for future analyses of curve FG nanobeam with porosity phases.
By using the first order shear deformation plate theory (FSDT) in the present paper, the effect of porosity on the buckling behavior of carbon nanotube-reinforced composite porous plates has been investigated analytically. Two types of distributions of uniaxially aligned reinforcement material are utilized which uniformly (UD-CNT) and functionally graded (FG-CNT) of plates. The analytical equations of the model are derived and the exact solutions for critical buckling load of such type's plates are obtained. The convergence of the method is demonstrated and the present solutions are numerically validated by comparison with some available solutions in the literature. The central thesis studied and discussed in this paper is the Influence of Various parameters on the buckling of carbon nanotube-reinforced porous plate such as aspect ratios, volume fraction, types of reinforcement, the degree of porosity and plate thickness. On the question of porosity, this study found that there is a great influence of their variation on the critical buckling load. It is revealed that the critical buckling load decreases as increasing coefficients of porosity.

This research is aimed at studying the asymmetric thermal buckling of porous functionally graded (FG) annular nanoplates resting on an elastic substrate which are made of two different sets of porous distribution, based on nonlocal elasticity theory. Porosity-dependent properties of inhomogeneous nanoplates are supposed to vary through the thickness direction and are defined via a modified power law function in which the porosities with even and uneven type are approximated. In this model, three types of thermal loading, i.e., uniform temperature rise, linear temperature distribution and heat conduction across the thickness direction are considered. Based on Hamilton's principle and the adjacent equilibrium criterion, the stability equations of nanoporous annular plates on elastic substrate are obtained. Afterwards, an analytical solution procedure is established to achieve the critical buckling temperatures of annular nanoplates with porosities under different loading conditions. Detailed numerical studies are performed to demonstrate the influences of the porosity volume fraction, various thermal loading, material gradation, nonlocal parameter for higher modes, elastic substrate coefficients and geometrical dimensions on the critical buckling temperatures of a nanoporous annular plate. Also, it is discussed that because of present of thermal moment at the boundary conditions, porous nanoplate with simply supported boundary condition doesn't buckle.

This paper studies the effects of porosity distributions on buckling and post-buckling behaviors of a functionally graded saturated porous (FGSP) circular plate. The plate is under the uniformly distributed radial loading and simply supported and clamped boundary conditions. Pores are saturated with compressible fluid (e.g., gases) that cannot escape from the porous solid. Elastic modulus is assumed to vary continuously through the thickness according to three different functions corresponding to three different cases of porosity distributions, including monotonous, symmetric, and asymmetric cases. Governing equations are derived utilizing the classical plate theory and Sanders nonlinear strain-displacement relations, and they are solved numerically via shooting method. Results are verified with the known results in the literature. The obtained results for the monotonous and symmetric cases with the asymmetric case presented in the literature are shown in comparative figures. Effects of the poroelastic material parameters, boundary conditions, and thickness change on the post-buckling behavior of the plate are discussed in details. The results reveal that buckling and post-buckling behaviors of the plate in the monotonous and symmetric cases differ from the asymmetric case, especially in small deflections, that asymmetric distribution of elastic moduli can be the cause.
The present research examines the primary resonance (PR) behaviors of oblique stiffened multilayer functionally graded (OSMFG) shallow shells featuring an FG porous (FGP) core under an external excitation. The research considers two distinct types of FGP cores: one characterized by uniform porosity distribution (UPD) and the other by non-uniform porosity distribution (NPD) along the thickness direction. Furthermore, the study explores two types of shallow shells: one with external oblique stiffeners and one with internal oblique stiffeners, which might have angles that are similar or different from each other. Using the stress function alongside the first-order shear deformation theory (FSDT), the research establishes a nonlinear model for OSMFG shallow shells. The strain-displacement relationships are obtained utilizing FSDT and von-Kármán's geometric assumptions. The Galerkin approach is utilized to discretize the nonlinear governing equations, allowing for the analysis of stiffeners at varied angles. To validate the obtained results, a comparison is made not only with the findings of previous research but also with the response of PR obtained theoretically with the method of multiple scales, using the P-T method. Renowned for its superior accuracy and reliability, the P-T method is deemed an apt selection within this framework. Additionally, the study investigates how differences in material characteristics and stiffener angles affect the system's PR behaviors. The results of this study can be used as standards by engineers and researchers working in this area, and they can offer important information for the design and evaluation of the shell systems under consideration.
The use of functionally graded materials in applications involving severe thermal gradients is quickly gaining acceptance in the composite mechanics community, the aerospace and aircraft industry. In the present study, a refined sandwich plate model is applied to study the free vibration analysis of porous functionally graded material (FGM) sandwich plates with various distribution rate of porosity. Two types of common FG sandwich plates are considered. The first sandwich plate is composed of two FG material (FGM) face sheets and a homogeneous ceramic or metal core. The second one consists of two homogeneous fully metal and ceramic face sheets at the top and bottom, respectively, and a FGM core. The displacement field of the present theory is chosen based on nonlinear variations in the in-plane displacements through the thickness of the sandwich plate. The number of unknowns and equations of motion of the present theory is reduced and hence makes them simple to use. In the analysis, the equation of motion for simply supported sandwich plates is obtained using Hamilton's principle. In order to present the effect of the variation of the porosity distribution on the dynamic behavior of the FGM sandwich plates, new mixtures are proposed which take into account different rate of porosity distribution between the ceramic and the metal. The present method is applicable to study the dynamic behavior of FGM plates and sandwich plates. The frequencies of two kinds of FGM sandwich structures are analyzed and discussed. Several numerical results have been compared with the ones available in the literature.
In this research, bending and buckling analyses of porous functionally graded (FG) plate under mechanical load are presented. The properties of the FG plate vary gradually across the thickness according to power-law and exponential functions. The material imperfection is considered to vary depending to a logarithmic function. The plate is modeled by a refined trigonometric shear deformation theory where the use of the shear correction factor is unnecessary. The governing equations of the FG plate are derived via virtual work principle and resolved via Navier solutions. The accuracy of the present model is checked by comparing the obtained results with those found in the literature. The various effects influencing the stresses, displacements and critical buckling loads of the plate are also examined and discussed in detail.
STATEMENT OF PROBLEM: It is known that an anodic oxidation technique, one of the methods for the implant surface treatment, remarkably increased surface area, enhanced wettability and accelerated the initial bone healing. Purpose: This study was performed to evaluate the wettability of anodized titanium surface which has a nanotubular structure, to assess osseointegration after the placement of implant with nano-size tubes on tibia of rats and to analyze quantitatively transferable rhBMP-2 on each surface. MATERIAL AND METHOD: Four different kinds of surface-treated titanium discs (polished (machined surface) group, micro (blasting surface) group, nano (anodizedmachined surface) group, and nano-micro (anodized-blasting surface) group) were fabricated (n=10). Three different media were chosen to measure the surface contact angles; distilled water, plasma and rhBMP-2 solution. After a single drop (0.025 $m{\ell}$) of solution, the picture was taken with the image camera, and contact angle was measured by using image analysis system. For the test of osseointegration, 2 kinds of anodized surface (anodized-machined surface, anodized-blasting surface) implants having 2.0 mm in diameter and 5.0 mm in length inserted into the tibia of Wistar rats. After 3 weeks, tibia were harvested and the specimens were stained with hematoxylin and eosin for histological analysis. To test the possibility of drug delivery, after soaking sample groups in the concentration of 250 ng/$m{\ell}$l of rhBMP-2 for 48 hours, the excess solution of rhBMP-2 were removed. After that, they were lyophilized for 24 hours, and then the rhBMP-2 on the surface of titanium was resolved for 72 hours in PBS. All the extracted solution was analyzed by ELISA. One-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) was performed on the data. RESULTS: The wettability is improved by anodic oxidation. The best wettability was shown on the nano-micro group, and it was followed by nano group, micro group, and polished group. In the histological findings, all implants showed good healing and the new bone formation were observed along the implant surface. After 3 days, nano-micro group delivered the most amount of rhBMP-2, followed by nano group, micro group, and polished group. CONCLUSION: It indicated that anodic oxidation on blasting surface produce functionally graded nano-micro porous structure and enhance hydrophilicity of the surface and osseointegration. The findings suggest that the nano-micro porous structure could be a useful carrier of osteogenic molecules like rhBMP-2.

Equilibrium equations of a porous FG plate resting on Winkler-Pasternak foundations with various boundary conditions are derived using a new refined shear deformation theory. Different types of porosity distribution rate are considered. Governing equations are obtained including the plate-foundation interaction. This new model meets the nullity of the transverse shear stress at the upper and lower surfaces of the plate. The novel rule of mixture is proposed to describe and approximate material properties of the FG plates with different distribution case of porosity. The validity of this theory is studied by comparing some of the present results with other higher-order theories reported in the literature. Effects of variation of porosity distribution rate, boundary conditions, foundation parameter, power law index, plate aspect ratio, side-to-thickness ratio on the deflections and stresses are all discussed.
