  • In developing the avionics system, a system integration laboratory (SIL) is established to verify the function and interworking of individual components. In case of individual verification of SIL's components and system integration, a SIL model that simulates the function and interworking of each equipment is developed and used. A SIL model shall be pre-verified against all data defined in the interface control document (ICD) before interworking with the actual equipment and reverified even when the ICD changes or functions change. However, if the verification of the SIL model is performed manually, the verification of the individual SIL model takes considerable time. For this reason, selective regression tests are often performed to determine a impact of SIL models on ICD changes and some functional changes. In this paper, we designed SIL model verification automation method to perform regession test by reducing verification time of SIL model and verify the usefulness of verification automation design by developing SIL model verification automation tool.

  • Objectives: Patient dose verification is clinically the most important parts in the treatment delivery of radiation therapy. The three dimensional(3D) reconstruction of dose distribution delivered to target volume helps to verify patient dose and determine the physical characteristics of beams used in intensity modulated radiation therapy(IMRT). We present Beam Intensity Scanner(BInS) system for the pre treatment dosimetric verification of two dimensional photon intensity. The BInS is a radiation detector with a custom made software for relative dose conversion of fluorescence signals from scintillator. Methods: This scintillator is fabricated by phosphor Gadolinium Oxysulphide and is used to produce fluorescence from the irradiation of 6MV photons on a Varian Clinac 21EX. The digitized fluoroscopic signals obtained by digital video camera will be processed by our custom made software to reproduce 3D relative dose distribution. For the intensity modulated beam(IMB), the BInS calculates absorbed dose in absolute beam fluence, which are used for the patient dose distribution. Results: Using BInS, we performed various measurements related to IMRT and found the followings: (1) The 3D dose profiles of the IMBs measured by the BInS demonstrate good agreement with radiographic film, pin type ionization chamber and Monte Carlo simulation. (2) The delivered beam intensity is altered by the mechanical and dosimetric properties of the collimating of dynamic and/or static MLC system. This is mostly due to leaf transmission, leaf penumbra, scattered photons from the round edges of leaves, and geometry of leaf. (3) The delivered dose depends on the operational detail of how to make multileaf opening. Conclusions: These phenomena result in a fluence distribution that can be substantially different from the initial and calculative intensity modulation and therefore, should be taken into account by the treatment planing for accurate dose calculations delivered to the target volume in IMRT.

  • This paper is a study on the modeling of the quantity estimation model for offshore plant Material handling equipment in FEED(Front End Engineering Design) verification stage using system engineering approach which is an engineering design methods. The relevant engineering execution procedure is not systemized although the operation method and Material handling equipment selection with weight and space constraints is a key part of the FEED. Using the system engineering process, the stakeholder requirements analysis process, the system requirements analysis, and the final system architecture design were sequentially performed, and the process developed through the functional development diagram and Requirement traceability matrix (RTM) was verified. In addition, based on the established process, we propose a Material handling quantity estimation model and Quantity calculation verification Table that can be applied at the FEED verification stage and we verify the applicability through case studies.

  • This paper proposes an efficient verification environment of PCI Express controller that is the future I/O interface. This verification environment consists of a test vector generator, a test bench, and two abstract memories. We also define the assembler set to generate the verification scenarios. In this paper, we propose the random test environment which consists of a random vector generator, a .simulator part, and a compare engine. This verification methodology is useful to find the special errors which are not detected by the basic-behavioral test and hardware-design test.

  • In this paper, we present a SystemC model of a 32-Bit RISC core wi)ich is based on the ARMTTDMI architecture. The RISC core model was first modeled in C for architecture verification and then refined down to a level that allows concurrent behavior lot hardware timing using the SystcmC class library. It was driven in timed functional level that uses handshake protocol. It was compiled using standard C++ compiler. The functional simulation result was verified by comparing the contents of memory, the result of execution with the result from the ARMulator of ADS(Arm Developer Suite).

  • A safety class field programmable gate array based system in nuclear power plant has been developed to improve the diversity. Testbench is necessary to satisfy the technical reference, IEC-62566, for verification and validation of register transfer level code. We use the open verification methodology(OVM) developed by standard body. We show that our testbench can use random input for test. And also we show that reusability of block level testbench for the integration level testbench, which is very efficient for large scale system like nuclear reactor protection system.

  • The memory coherence problem occurs while mapping shared virtual memory in a loosely coupled multiprocessors setup. Memory is considered coherent if a read operation provides same data written in the last write operation. The problem is addressed in the literature using different algorithms. The big question is on the correctness of such a distributed algorithm. Formal verification is the principal term for a group of techniques that routinely use an analysis that is established on mathematical transformations to conclude the rightness of hardware or software behavior in divergence to dynamic verification techniques. This paper uses UPPAAL model checker to model the dynamic distributed algorithm for shared virtual memory given by K.Li and P.Hudak. We analyse the mechanism to keep the coherence of memory in every read and write operation by using a dynamic distributed algorithm. Our results show that the dynamic distributed algorithm for shared virtual memory partially fulfils its functional requirements.

  • This study explains the planning practical training that researches the process of functional game planning approach by developing functional games. The main focus of this study is the practical training process of planning which is an important part of game development jobs by developing games with proper functional materials, 'Framework of Planning Functional Game', and the verification of framework by developing functional games. This paper suggests that the functional game planning approach with the right function requires progressive/quantitative standard, which is different from typical process. Therefore, this paper is useful as reference materials of a functional game education through the cases of games developed by the progressive/quantitative approach standard.

  • In this study, the effect of wearing functional compression pants is verified using a lower-limb wearable robot through a bio-signal analysis and subjective fit evaluation. First, the compression area to be applied to the functional compression pants is derived using the quad method for nine men in their 20s. Subsequently, functional compression pants are prepared, and changes in Electroencephalogram (EEG) and Electrocardiogram (ECG) signals when wearing the functional compression and normal regular pants inside a wearable robot are measured. The EEG and ECG signals are measured with eyes closed and open. Results indicate that the Relative alpha (RA) and Relative gamma wave (RG) of the EEG signal differ significantly, resulting in increased stability and reduced anxiety and stress when wearing the functional compression pants. Furthermore, the ECG analysis results indicate statistically significant differences in the Low frequency (LF)/High frequency (HF) index, which reflect the overall balance of the autonomic nervous system and can be interpreted as feeling comfortable and balanced when wearing the functional compression pants. Moreover, subjective sense is discovered to be effective in assessing wear fit, ease of movement, skin friction, and wear comfort when wearing the functional compression pants.
