  • Electrohydrodynamics is a good approach to produce uniform-sized colloids and fibers in a continuous process. The dimension can be controlled from tens of nanometers to a few micrometers. The structure of the colloids and nanofibers from electrohydrodynamics has been diversified according to the uses. Especially, core-shell structure and hybridization with functional nanomaterials are fascinating due to their possible uses in drug-delivery systems, multifunctional scaffolds, organic/inorganic hybrids with new functions, and highly sensitive gas- or bio-sensors. This talk will present the structural variations in the colloids and fibers by simply employing phase separation during electrohydrodynamic process and demonstrate their possible applications.

  • Using the fixed point method, we prove the generalized Hyers-Ulam stability of the following cubic-quartic functional equation (0.1) f(2x + y) + f(2x - y) = 3f(x + y) + f(-x - y) + 3f(x - y) + f(y - x) + 18f(x) + 6f(-x) - 3f(y) - 3f(-y) in fuzzy Banach spaces.

  • Using the fixed point method, we prove the generalized Hyers-Ulam stability of the following cubic-quadratic functional equation $$(0.1)\;\frac{1}{2}(f(2x+y)+f(2x-y)-f(-2x-y)-f(y- 2x))\\{\hspace{35}}=2f(x+y)+2f(x-y)+4f(x)-8f(-x)-2f(y)-2f(-y)$$ in fuzzy Banach spaces.

  • This study is concerned how to construct a model of life as physical/ mathematical representation. This model is called here a bionic model and vibrating potential field is introduced as fundamental world background of the model. Namely, required information creating/ processing/ controlling are done on this field. Especially this paper reports how to realize the simulation of a bionic self organization and its functional expression based on the mutual actions among a set of life units.

  • It is shown that the problem of minimizing (maximizing) a quadratic cost functional (quadratic gain functional) given the dynamics dx = (fx + gu)dt + hdb(t, a) where b(t, a) is a fractional Brownian motion of order a, 0 < 2a < 1, can be solved completely (and meaningfully!) by using the dynamical equations of the moments of x(t). The key is to use fractional Taylor's series to obtain a relation between differential and differential of fractional order.

  • We use the fixed alternative theorem to establish Hyers-Ulam-Rassias stability of the quadratic functional equation where functions map a linear space into a complete quasi p-normed space. Moreover, we will show that the continuity behavior of an approximately quadratic mapping, which is controlled by a suitable continuous function, implies the continuity of a unique quadratic function, which is a good approximation to the mapping. We also give a few applications of our results in some special cases.
