In order to investigate the effect of front channel in DAL (dual active layer) TFT (thin film transistor), we successfully fabricated DAL TFT composed of ITZO and IGZO as active layer using the solution process. In this structure, ITZO and IGZO active layer were used as front and back channel, respectively. The front channel was changed from 0.05 to 0.2 M at fixed 0.3 M IGZO of back channel. When the mol concentration of front channel was increased, the threshold voltage (VTH) was increased from 2.0 to -11.9 V and off current also was increased from 10-12 to 10-11. This phenomenon is due to increasing the carrier concentration by increasing the volume of the front channel. The saturation mobility of DAL TFT with 0.05, 0.1, and 0.2 M ITZO were 0.45, 4.3, and $0.65cm2/V{\cdot}s$. Even though 0.2 M ITZO has higher carrier concentration than 0.05 and 0.1 M ITZO, the 0.1 M ITZO/0.3 M IGZO DAL TFT has the highest saturation mobility. This is due to channel defect such as pores and pin-holes. These defect sites were created during deposition process by solvent evaporation. Due to these defect sites, the 0.1 M ITZO/0.3 M IGZO DAL TFT shows the higher saturation mobility than that of DAL TFT with front channel of 0.2 M ITZO.

The circuit board of an electronic equipment were simulated with a vertical channel which had thermal blocks protruded from one of the channel walls. A rought front plate was made of a circuit board attached with short wires to simulate the back side of a printed circuit board. Natural convection experiments were carried out to study the effects of channel space and rough front plate and to find the suitable characteristic value after the fourth row. The effect of a rough front plate was negligble. There were negligible effects of the channel space on the first and second heaters. Heat transfer coefficients after the third row decreased as the channel space decreased. Heat transfer coefficients were almost constant for larger than 20 mm channel space. A characteristic length was suggested to non-dimensionalize Nu and Ra numbers in a vertical channel with protruded heaters. A correlation was obtained using the new characteristic lengths.

In this study, the process of freezing around two consecutively arranged channel tubes used for evaporator heat exchange was numerically investigated. Numerical results confirmed that the vortex occurred between the front channel and the rear channel and also that the vortex occurred due to the rapid change of the channel at the rear of the rear channel. These vortices were found to play a role in reducing the ice layer to some extent by the growth of the ice layer at the front and rear of the channel tube. The freezing layer showed a tendency to gradually increase as it passed through the channel pipe. As the wall temperature in the channel pipe decreased, the thickness of the freezing layer increased. As the flow rate of water slowed, the thickness of the freezing layer became thicker. In particular, in the case of a slow flow rate of 0.03 m/s, the freezing layers of the front channel pipe and the rear channel pipe were connected to each other. The narrower the channel, the thinner the freezing layer was in both the front and rear channel tubes. It is found that these thin freezing layers are caused by the low thickness of the temperature boundary layer formed around the channel tube.
In order to improve the performance of a speech recognition system in the presence of noise, we propose a noise robust front-end using two-channel speech signals by separating speech from noise based on the computational auditory scene analysis (CASA). The main cues for the separation are interaural time difference (ITD) and interaural level difference (ILD) between two-channel signal. As a result, we can extract 39 cepstral coefficients are extracted from separated speech components. It is shown from speech recognition experiments that proposed front-end has outperforms the ETSI front-end with single-channel speech.
In this paper, we analyzed the current path in the O/N/O (Oxide/Nitride/Oxide) structure of 3D NAND Flash memory and in the O/N/F (Oxide/Nitride/Ferroelectric) structure where the blocking oxide is replaced by a ferroelectric. In the O/N/O structure, when Vread is applied, a current path is formed on the backside of the channel due to the E-fields of neighboring cells. In contrast, the O/N/F structure exhibits a current path formed on the front side due to the polarization of the ferroelectric material, causing electrons to move toward the channel front. Additionally, we performed an examination of device characteristics considering channel thickness and channel length. The analysis results showed that the front electron current density in the O/N/F structure increased by 2.8 times compared to the O/N/O structure, and the front electron current density ratio of the O/N/F structure was 17.7% higher. Therefore, the front current path is formed more effectively in the O/N/F structure than in the O/N/O structure.

A set of experiments of Counter-Current Flow Limit(CCFL or Flooding) was performed to improve the drawbacks of Wallis' Correlation which neglects the effects of channel size, channel length, injection method and the boundary conditions at the inlet of liquid and gas phase. In these experiments using water and air, the followings were found ; (i) The effects of channel size and length were quite significant. In large tubes(D>20mm), the flooding front occurred at the bottom of the channel and when the gas flow increased the front moved upward ; however, in small tubes(D<20mm), there were no upward movement of flooding front and the flooding just occurred at the liquid inlet. (ii) The effect of water inlet device was not as significant as that of channel length though the inlet boundary conditions could affect the flow development and flooding afterward. (iii) Once the flooding front reached the inlet of water injection device, an newly reduced flow condition was set up and resulted in another flooding corresponding to the new condition.
Recent developments such as concern over global warming, depletion of fossil fuels and increase in energy demands by the increasing world population has eventually lead to mass production of electricity using renewable sources. Apart from wind and solar, ocean holds tremendous amount of untapped energy in forms such as geothermal vents, tides and waves. The current study looks at generating power using waves and the focus is on the primary energy conversion (first stage conversion) of incoming waves for different models. Observation of flow characteristics and the velocity in the augmentation channel as well as the front guide nozzle are presented in the paper. A numerical wave tank was used to simulate the waves and after obtaining the desired wave properties; the augmentation channel plus the front guide nozzle and rear chamber were integrated to the numerical wave tank. The waves in the numerical wave tank were generated by a piston type wave maker which was located at the wave tank inlet. The inlet which was modeled as a plate wall moved sinusoidally with the general function, x=asin$\omega$t The augmentation channel consisted of a front nozzle, rear nozzle and an internal fluid region representing the turbine housing. The analysis was performed using the commercial CFD code ANSYS-CFX.
The detailed structure of a tidal front and its ebb-to flood variation in the main tidal channel of the Kyunggi Bay in the mid-west coast of Korea were investigated by analyzing CTD data and drifter trajectories collected in late July 1999. A typical tidal front was formed in water about 60 m deep at the mouth of the channel. Isotherms and isohalines in the upper layer above the seasonal pycnocline in the offshore stratified zone inclined upward to the sea surface to form a surface front, while those in the lower layer declined to the bottom front. The location of the front is consistent with $100 S^3/cm^2$ of the mixing index H/U defined by Simpson and Hunter (1974), where H is the water depth and U is the amplitude of tidal current. The potential energy anomaly in the frontal zone varied at an ebb-to flood tidal cycle, showing a minimum at slack water after ebb but a maximum at slack water after flood. This ebb-to flood variation in potential energy anomaly is not accounted for by the mixing index. We conclude that on- and offshore displacement of the water column by tidal advection is responsible for the ebb-to-flood variation in the frontal zone.
We propose 8.2-GHz band radar RFICs for an 8 × 8 phased-array frequency-modulated continuous-wave receiver developed using 65-nm CMOS technology. This receiver panel is constructed using a multichip solution comprising fabricated 2 × 2 low-noise amplifier phase-shifter (LNA-PS) chips and a 4ch RX front-end chip. The LNA-PS chip has a novel phase-shifter circuit for low-voltage operation, novel active single-to-differential/differential-to-single circuits, and a current-mode combiner to utilize a small area. The LNA-PS chip shows a power gain range of 5 dB to 20 dB per channel with gain control and a single-channel NF of 6.4 dB at maximum gain. The measured result of the chip shows 6-bit phase states with a 0.35° RMS phase error. The input P1 dB of the chip is approximately -27.5 dBm at high gain and is enough to cover the highest input power from the TX-to-RX leakage in the radar system. The gain range of the 4ch RX front-end chip is 9 dB to 30 dB per channel. The LNA-PS chip consumes 82 mA, and the 4ch RX front-end chip consumes 97 mA from a 1.2 V supply voltage. The chip sizes of the 2 × 2 LNA-PS and the 4ch RX front end are 2.39 mm × 1.3 mm and 2.42 mm × 1.62 mm, respectively.

In this paper, a wireless spectrum sensing receiver system is proposed. While a conventional Cognitive Radio(CR) system utilizes frequency down-conversion and demodulation to recognize wireless spectral signal, the proposed one is able to recover and sense valid signal at an RF front-end. It has been designed with a super-regeneration type circuit with a channel selectivity and variability for FDM applications with which a conventional single-channel super-regeneration circuit could not provide. From experimental evaluation, the implemented system has been optimized for channel allocation with quenching signal, and verified for 5 MHz-channel spacing.
