In this paper, we design a Wibro / WiFi dual band microstrip antenna for wireless broadband communication. The proposed antenna is designed to have the characteristics of FR-4 (er = 4.3), size of $40[mm]{\times}40[mm]$, and usable in 2.31[GHz] and 5.8[GHz] bands of Wibro / WiFi. The simulation is performed by CST Microwave Studio 2014 The simulation result shows that the gain is 2.308[dB] at 2.31[GHz] and 2.985[dB] at 5.8[GHz]. S-parameters were also found to be less than -10[dB] (WSWR2: 1) in the desired frequency band, and a small number of parameters and a compact antenna were designed. It is expected that many users will use the mobile communication antenna for accurate and fast communication for smooth wireless broadband communication.
Two-dimensional (2-D) inversion of magnetotelluric (MT) data for two survey lines having south-north direction from Jeiu Island has been carried out. The 2-D models show a thick layer having around 10 ohm-m in the depth of a few hundred meters throughout the survey area, which can be considered as the unconsolidated sedimentary layer. And they also show a conductive anomaly at the central part of each survey lines. But unfortunately by now, we do not have any further information about the anomaly. Comparison of the 2-D inversion model using MT band only and that using both AMT and MT bands said that it is helpful for us to include AMT band as well as MT band in the inversion to interpret not only the shallow part but also the deep structures.
$Dy^{3+}$ and $Eu^{3+}$-codoped $SrWO_4$ phosphor thin films were deposited on sapphire substrates by radio frequency magnetron sputtering by changing the growth and thermal annealing temperatures. The results show that the structural and optical properties of the phosphor thin films depended on the growth and thermal annealing temperatures. All the phosphor thin films, irrespective of the growth or the thermal annealing temperatures, exhibited tetragonal structures with a dominant (112) diffraction peak. The thin films deposited at a growth temperature of $100^{\circ}C$ and a thermal annealing temperature of $650^{\circ}C$ showed average transmittances of 87.5% and 88.4% in the wavelength range of 500-1100 nm and band gap energy values of 4.00 and 4.20 eV, respectively. The excitation spectra of the phosphor thin films showed a broad charge transfer band that peaked at 234 nm, which is in the range of 200-270 nm. The emission spectra under ultraviolet excitation at 234 nm showed an intense emission peak at 572 nm and several weaker bands at 479, 612, 660, and 758 nm. These results suggest that the $SrWO_4$: $Dy^{3+}$, $Eu^{3+}$ thin films can be used as white light emitting materials suitable for applications in display and solid-state lighting.
The gauge control of the fishing mill is very important because more and more accurately sized hot rolled coils are demanded by customers recently. Because the mill constant and the plasticity coefficient vary with the specifications of the mill, the classification of steel, the strip width, the strip thickness and the slab temperature, the variation of these parameters should be considered in the automatic gauge control system(AGC). Generally, the AGC gain is used to minimize the effect of the uncertain parameters. In a practical field, operators set the AGC gain as a constant value calculated by FSU (Finishing-mill Set-Up model) and it is not changed during the operating time. In this paper, the thickness data signals that occupy different frequency bands are respectively extracted by adaptive filters and then the main cause of the thickness variation is analyzed. Additionally, the AGC gain is adaptively tuned to reduce this variation using the online tuning model. Especially ANFIS(Adaptive-Neuro-based Fuzzy Interface System) which unifies both fuzzy logics and neural networks, is used for this gain adjustment system because fuzzy logics use the professionals' experiences about the uncertainty and the nonlinearity of the system. Simulation is performed by using POSCO's data and the results show that proposed on-line gain adjustment algorithm has a good performance.

The proposed method inserts a watermark information not mto a whole Image region but only into regions of interest(ROIs) To extract the ROIs, we divide an original Image into sub-blocks and use modified Shi-Kuo Chang's PIM(picture information measure) as the criteria to select the ROIs Considering the directional information and frequency bands, we insert the watermark information into sub-blocks m the DCT domain. The proposed method can reduce the distortion in comparison With the other methods which utilize the whole Image as an nor The proposed method makes much less damaged Images m comparison to the other methods And those Images processed by the proposed algorithm are more robust to the changes caused by signal processing operations such as resampling, clipping. noise, and so on Also due to the block-based watermark insertion, the proposed method has the robustness to the Image compression processes such as JPEG and MPEG.

This paper proposes a frequency reconfigurable antenna which operates at not only LTE but also other currently serviced bands. The high band(1,710-2,170 MHz) performance was satisfied through PIFA structure, and the low band performance through the additional RF Switch by changing the state between SW1 and SW2. When the RF switch is SW1 state, the operation bandwidth is 782-907 MHz (GSM), and 738-861 MHz (LTE) at OFF state. The proposed antenna has a omni-directional radiation pattern and measured peak gains were 0.04-4.68 dBi at the SW1 state and 0.92-1.53 dBi at the SW2 state, respectively. Judging from the results, proposed reconfigurable antenna is expected to be applied to LTE-Advanced mobile terminals since the antenna shows an outstanding performance.
The main purpose of this study is to apply spatial analysis using semivariograms to small-loop electromagnetic survey data to assess the extent of seawater intrusion in an experimental watershed. To indicate the extent of seawater intrusion over the study area, vertical electrical soundings at 33 points and electrical conductivity logging in two wells were conducted. From the correlation between resistivities obtained by inversion and the depth of the aquifer at the two wells, the region of seawater intrusion was identified and demonstrated by electrical conductivity logging results obtained over two years. To measure the variation of apparent conductivity with depth, an electromagnetic survey in six frequency bands was adopted. Apparent conductivity mapping with spatial analysis using semivariograms is an effective technique for identifying the region of seawater intrusion at shallow depth.

While Long Term Evolution-Frequency Division Duplexing (LTE-FDD) is regarded as one of the strong candidates for "4G" wireless broadband access in FDD field, LTE-Time Division Duplexing (TDD) is emerging as one possible migration path for WiMAX-TDD in some cases as well as the migration path for Time Division-Synchronous Code Division Multiple Access (TD-SCDMA). In this paper, we analyze the feasibility of dual mode with LTE-TDD in two combinations: dual mode LTE-FDD/TDD and dual mode Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMAX)-TDD/LTE-TDD. Thanks to the commonality in numerology, terminology, and frame structure between LTE-FDD and LTE-TDD, dual mode LTE-FDD/TDD looks feasible in a cost-effective manner. Thanks to the commonality in scheduling algorithm, control mechanism, and supported spectrum bands, it is shown that dual mode WiMAX-TDD/LTE-TDD looks feasible as well. It should be also noted that the commonality in numerology and frame structure is critical for building a chip while the commonality in algorithms and control mechanisms is critical to make it work.

This paper presents a design of spiral antenna with broad bandwidth for non-linear junction detector(NLJD). An elliptical patch as radiating element located on center position of radiating surface, as well as the spiral elements on radiating surface was designed for broad bandwidth of spiral antenna. An antenna ground structure generating the multi resonance by spiral slit inserted on ground surface was also proposed. In order to realize high directivity and high gain of the proposed antenna, the cavity wall made of Fr4-epoxy and the metal cap were considered in design. As a result, the calculated gain of antenna with metal cap was improved about 3 dB with comparison of antenna without metal cap and the measured main beam directivity toward -z axis direction agreed well with calculation result. The measured axial ratio satisfied the circular polarization within -z axis ${\pm}45^{\circ}$ at design frequency bands and showed reasonable agreement with prediction.

In this paper, the authors present a new design for a broad-band metamaterial(MTM) absorber that utilizes flexible substrate. The proposed MTM unit cell is constructed by a electric-inducive-capacitive(ELC) resonator and a cut-wire on the same side of the flexible polyimide substrate. To reduce the radar cross section at frequencies other than the targeted frequency bands, the metallic pattern layer of the proposed structure is placed facing toward the incident wave propagation direction. A prototype absorber was fabricated with a planar array of $33{\times}45$ unit cells. Our experiments showed that the proposed absorber exhibits a peak absorption rate of 92 % and 93 % at 9.06 GHz and 15.0 GHz, respectively, and 75 % of the full-width at half-maximum(FWHM) bandwidth is achieved. The proposed backplane-less MTM structure can be used for a broad-band microwave absorber and irregular surface applications.
