  • The design and implementation of Ku-Band frequency synthesizer was accomplished by the use of PLL and frquency multiple method. Design procedure and operation characteristics of PLL circuit were analyzed on the basis of control theory to synthesize about 1 GHz frequency which should be stable. By connecting frequency doubler and frequency eighth multiplier to the designed PLL circuit in series, Ku-Band frequency was synthesized. The validity of design method of Ku-Band frequency synthesizer was verified through experimental results.

  • When we assign frequency resources to a new radio service, the existing services need not to be interfered with by the new service. Therefore, when we make a frequency assignment, a guard band is necessary to separate adjacent frequency bands so that both can transmit simultaneously without interfering with each other. In this paper, we propose an efficient frequency guard band decision rule for avoiding interference between radio services. The guard band is established based on the probability of interference in the previously arranged scenario. The interference probability is calculated using the spectrum engineering advanced Monte Carlo(MC) analysis tool(SEAMCAT). After applying the proposed algorithm to set up the frequency guard band, we can decide on the guard band appropriately because the result satisfies the predefined criterion.

  • In the proposed paper, we designed low noise frequency synthesizer with compact size for Multi-Band. The proposed frequency synthesizer consists of fundamental frequency band(2 GHz) and harmonic frequency band(4 GHz). To improve the phase noise and spurious level of frequency synthesizer, we analyze how the configuration of frequency synthesizer affect the phase noise and design the multi-band's structure. The implemented frequency synthesizer reduce both the phase noise and spurious level. The phase noise is -92.17 dBc/Hz at 1 kHz frequency offset in 2 GHz and -90.50 dBc/Hz at 1 kHz frequency offset in 4 GHz. All spurious signals including fundamental frequency are suppressed at least 20 dBc than the second harmonic frequency.

  • In FH-SS systems when the bopping band is enough wide to onerlap with conventional band limited communication cethod (CBM). The portion of suchacts as an interfering signal. Thus it is gard to use them all together. This paper presents how the frequency gopping systems can simultaneously share the same band with CBM. The proposed mithod is that the frequency gopping band can arbitraily controlled by setting the specific input bith of digital frequency synthesizer to logical zero state We realized this by putting the hopping band Controller between pseudeo random generater and frequency synthesizer.

  • The study aims to a design hybrid frequency synthesizer in spectrum analyzer and to propose new techniques designed for evasion of in-band spurious. The study focuses on calculating the exact location of multiple phase locked loop of hybrid frequency synthesizer and spurious of direct digital synthesizer to evade in-band spurious outside of frequency range that the user wants to see and thereby simulating technique to improve input related spurious of spectrum analyzer for algorithm. The proposed technique is designed to calculate spurious evasion algorithm in central processing system when in-band spurious arises, and to move output frequency of DDS(direct digital synthesizer) into the place where no in-band spurious exists thereby improving performance of frequency synthesizer. The study used simulation and result representation to prove the effectiveness of the proposed technique.

  • In this paper, w-band frequency synthesizer was developed for frequency-modulated continuous wave (FMCW) radar sensors. To achieve a small size and high performance, We designed and manufactured w-band MMIC chips such as up-converter one-chip, multiplier, DA (Drive Amplifier) MMIC(Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuit), etc. And interposer technology was applied between the W-band multiplier and the DA MMIC chip. As a result, the measured phase noise was -106.10 dBc@1MHz offset, and the frequency switching time of the frequency synthesizer was less than 0.1 usec. Compared with the w-band frequency synthesizer using purchased chips, the developed frequency synthesizer showed better performance.

  • This work describes the development of a D-band (110-170 GHz) signal source based on a SiGe BiCMOS technology. This D-band signal source consists of a V-band (50-75 GHz) oscillator, a V-band amplifier, and a D-band frequency doubler. The V-band signal from the oscillator is amplified for power boost, and then the frequency is doubled for D-band signal generation. The V-band oscillator showed an output power of 2.7 dBm at 67.3 GHz. Including a buffer stage, it had a DC power consumption of 145 mW. The peak gain of the V-band amplifier was 10.9 dB, which was achieved at 64.0 GHz and consumed 110 mW of DC power. The active frequency doubler consumed 60 mW for D-band signal generation. The integrated D-band source exhibited a measured output oscillation frequency of 133.2 GHz with an output power of 3.1 dBm and a phase noise of -107.2 dBc/Hz at 10 MHz offset. The chip size is $900{\times}1,890{\mu}m^2$, including RF and DC pads.

  • In this paper, we propose a new tinnitus treatment system that removes the frequency band where the ear noises is generated and amplifies the around frequency bands in order to treat a nonstop buzzing in the ears, that is one among the disease commonly generated in modern people. Mostly the tinnitus is generated by the tunability with the neighboring nerves while the part of the cerebral cortex which is unable to react to the stimuli by the sound of the specific frequency band reacts to other frequency band. Therefore, the excitability activity by the tunability of the cerebral cortex is suppressed and the remedial value is gotten by removing the tinnitus frequency band, and the around frequency bands are amplified to strengthen the remedial value. Experimental results show that the tinnitus can be treated conveniently if the patients use the android application which the proposed technique is applied to.

  • Terahertz dual-band frequency selective surface filters made by perforating two different rectangular holes in molybdenum have been designed, fabricated and measured. Physical mechanisms of the dual-band resonant responses are clarified by three differently configured filters and the electric field distribution diagrams. The design process is straightforward and simple according to the physical concept and some formulas. Due to the weak coupling between the two neighboring rectangle holes with different sizes in the unit cell, good dual-band frequency selectivity performance can be easily achieved both in the lower and higher bands by tuning dimensions of the two rectangular holes. Three samples are fabricated, and their dual-band characteristics have been demonstrated by a THz time-domain spectroscopy system. Different from most commonly used metal-dielectric structure or metal-dielectric-metal sandwiched filters, the designed dual-band filters have advantages of easy fabrication and low cost, the encouraging results afforded by these filters could find their applications in dual-band sensors, THz communication systems and other emerging THz technologies.

  • In this paper, we have implemented the reflection type band-rejection filter by employing the 3-㏈ hybrid and the frequency-selective loads. The frequency-selective loads have been achieved with the 3-pole bandpass filter terminated by a 50-ohm load. The reflection type band-rejection filter is less sensitive to unloaded Q-factor of resonator than the conventional one. Measurements and simulations on the presented band-rejection filter in this paper show the excellent performances in passband and rejection-band.
