  • Online reviews written by tourists provide important information for the management and operation of the tourism industry. The star rating of online reviews is a simple quantitative evaluation of a product or service, but it is difficult to reflect the sincere attitude of tourists. There is also an issue; the star rating and review content are not matched. In this study, a star rating prediction model based on online review content was proposed to solve the discrepancy problem. We compared the differences in star ratings and sentiment by continent through sentiment analysis on tourist attractions and hotels written by foreign tourists who visited Korea. Variables were selected through TF-IDF vectorization and sentiment analysis results. Logit, artificial neural network, and SVM(Support Vector Machine) were used for the classification model, and artificial neural network and SVR(Support Vector regression) were applied for the rating prediction model. The online review rating prediction model proposed in this study could solve inconsistency problems and also could be applied even if when there is no star rating.

Most foreign tourists have difficulty using existing methods that require internet connection because internet communication is restrictive. In this paper, we propose a mobile device based digital signage via WPAN that can support multi-lingual for foreign tourists. the proposed method shows a menu by combining a template of mobile client with fundamental contents from digital signage through WPAN. To evaluate the performance of the proposed method, it is compared with a conventional webpage method. The results of the evaluation confirm that the latency decreases compared to the conventional webpage method due to the improved loading time.

Time series monthly data for the investigation were collected ranging from 1995 to 2010. A total of 192 observations were used for data analysis. The date showed that a big difference existed between on-season and off-season of the number of foreign tourists in Kyeongju. In the forecast multiplicative seasonal ARIMA(1,1,0) $(4,0,0)_{12}$ model was found the most appropriate model. Results show that the number of tourists was 694 thousands in 2011, 715 thousands in 2012, 725 thousands in 2013, 738 thousands in 2014, and 884 thousands in 2015. • Recently the tourism industry has achieved rapid growth and thus stands out as a means for the improvement of international payments and the acquirement of foreign currency. In particular, the hotel and major tourist travel industries have been developed for the inducement of foreign tourists. However, the manu-facturing and sales indust\ulcornerries of tourism folklore haven't developed. The reason is that the endeavor to attract tourists has been more emphasized than the development of tourism folklore which includes chief shopping items and indust-rialization. Tourism folklore plays a great role not only as material evidence of a tourist's visit to a country or region but also as a gift and a souvenir. Also it represents the image and the degree of the industrial development of the nation, so it should be congruent with the nature and the images of the region. Nevertheless, our tourism folklore has been merely mass produced by specific companies that do not represent the region's image and nature in their products. Tourism folklore development can raise the image of Choongnam and serve as a catalyst to induce tourists. Also, it can be an avenue for com$$\mu$ity publicity and industrialization. Thus, this study has examined and analyzed original products made with textiles and metal materials whether can be developed into tourism folklore. Also this study presents the example of developed tourism folklore works in a foreign country. It tries to give the unique symbolic image of Choongnam by developing the original products with Choongnam' s own materials. However, this study has shown that the actual conditions of tourism folklore development in Choongnam are seriously inferior to other industries. The producers are limited. Moreover, the product items are coarse. Many problems are being brought up which should be improved. Hereafter, to develop Choongnam's own tourism folklore, it should be carried out with financial and political support from the government, design development by industrial circles, professional design training and marketing research by the sellers.

This study examined the significance of major economic factors affecting the increase in Chinese tourists arriving in Malaysia. Other factors that induced their arrival included income, tourism prices, transportation costs and promotional activities. Short-run shocks from the Asian economic crisis and the outbreak of SARS were included to understand how tourism demand in Malaysia was affected. Finally this study found that the combination of the ARDL and the Error Correction Model were useful to statistically estimate the elasticities of tourism demand.

Between March 14 and May 31, 2005, about two to three months after the 2005 Seoul International Sports & Leisure Industry Show ended, 153 tourists from America, 129 from China, and 156 from the Japan completed the survey instrument. The results from a General Linear Model (GLM) with repeated measures showed that tourists from all three countries had more positive images after the Seoul International Sports & Leisure Industry Show than before it. It was concluded that the 2005 Seoul International Sports & Leisure Industry Show appeared to have a significant positive effect in enhancing the image of South Korea.
