  • This study was designed to examine the characteristics of Chinese-foreign Cooperation in Running Schools (CFCRS) to draw implications for the introduction and management of curriculum cooperation with foreign universities. For this study, relevant literatures and articles on CFCRS were collected and analyzed. This study summarized the characteristics of CFCRS from the perspectives of the running purpose, cooperation modes, and evaluation and quality management. The results show that the main characteristics of CFCRS are to promote the comprehensive development of China's higher education and cultivate talents for imminent national development by introducing the advanced educational resources and experience, to achieve the purpose of "not studying abroad" through diversified and high-quality co-operation programs, to conduct strict quality management over the introduction and operation stages, and to establish legal grounds by establishing enough relevant policies. Based on the results, this study proposes several areas of improvement such as the introduction and operation of foreign curriculum in Korea to foster global talents, enhancement of the evaluation and management of cooperation programs and institutions with foreign universities, regulation and examination of the foreign university curriculum introduction, and normalization of the curriculum operation through the policy review process and related policies.

  • This study investigated the application and satisfaction of the global industrial technology curriculum for foreign students at J University in Korea. In order to derive the global industrial technology curriculum, industry needs were analyzed, and the appropriateness of the curriculum was identified through the current status of the root industry. In order to investigate the satisfaction with the application of the global industrial technology curriculum, a questionnaire survey was conducted in the form of an in-person interview for two months from August to September 2021 for foreign students. The questionnaire surveys included general information of the subjects, the status of completion of the curriculum, questions about class satisfaction, the process of obtaining certifications, and whether or not they were employed. As a result of the study, the reasons for choosing the curriculum of the respondents were their interest in subjects related to the root industry (welding, machining, etc.) and the issuance of Korean employment and visas (E-7). The most preferred subject was welding practice at 36.8%, and in terms of subjects considered necessary, the subject of basic major terminology was the most at 29.2%. The difference in satisfaction between graduates and current students who applied the same curriculum was tested, and as a result of the analysis, it was confirmed that there was no difference in satisfaction between current students and graduates through the t test (significance level p=0.05). We believe that this study is meaningful in that it provides basic data for the domestic industrial technology curriculum for foreign students and suggests the direction of related research in a time when the existence of universities is threatened due to the decrease in the school-age population.

  • Since the enactment of the "Framework Act on the Korean Language (herein after "Act ), researchers have focused their studies on measuring whether the Act played a huge role in providing Korean education. This can be confirmed by many, that the Act has indeed played a huge part in providing Korean language education. However, little attention was given to the validity of the education curriculum for prospective Korean language teachers as provided by the Act. Therefore, this survey has been conducted to provide an insight to teachers' perception of the Korean language curriculum for prospective teachers and will test whether such perception meets the standards in which the Act has been enacted. In this survey, we have received response on the importance of each domain and subject in the areas of Korean language education as viewed by the Korean language teachers. The results revealed the importance in the following order: Teaching Practice, Korean Linguistics, Korean Educational Linguistics, General Linguistics, and Korean Culture. These results strongly suggest that there is a need for the current curriculum, laid out by the Act, to be reconsidered to stress different levels of importance and time assignment for each category. The survey analysis shows the disparity in importance within the curriculum between the Act and the views in which the Korean language teachers perceive Korean language education. While further research is needed to confirm the analysis of this survey, this area of research will be instrumental in determining the suggestive shapes of the curriculum governed by the Act in the years to come.

As a result of the study, foreign countries were reflecting their competencies in mathematics curriculum in various ways. In France mathematics curriculum, the achievement standards of learning competencies(compétences travaillées) that students should reach by cycle were presented, and the related common competencies(socle commun) were indicated. In Australia's mathematics curriculum, the general capabilities for achievement standards were identified, and the achievement criteria for proficiency strands to be reached by grade level were presented. British Columbia's mathematics curriculum actively reflected its competencies. In the mathematics curriculum, domains were reorganized based on the competencies, and achievement standards of the competencies were proposed. The results of this study will help in improving the ways in which were reflected competencies in mathematics curriculum.

  • One of the keyword in every nation's recent educational policy is key competencies. Considering national competitiveness originating from educational competitiveness, educational policy has been driven to identify key competencies and realize them through school education. Within this context some countries have developed competencies-based curriculum and discussed ways to relate key competencies and subject matter areas. However, there have been few researches on how to reflect or integrate key competencies into subject matter areas. Because of this reason, the ways to incorporate and integrate key competencies into three subject areas including mathematics were investigated. The recent trends of curriculum, teaching and learning, and assessment of domestic and foreign cases were explored by the subject of one Korean international middle school, one British foreign school in Seoul, one French foreign school in Seoul, and four middle schools in New Zealand. To establish competencies-based school education, there should be intimate connection system among curriculum, teaching and learning, assessment, and teacher education. Through analysis of domestic and foreign cases, some conclusions regarding how these aspects have changed with the emphasis of key competencies were drawn. In this paper, through classroom observation and teacher interview, a case of the competencies-based mathematics lessons of one French foreign school was investigated. As a result, summaries and recommendations related to ways to improve subject teaching and teacher education in light of key competencies were presented. In these recommendations, the ways to reconstruct subject-based curriculum, the content-specific teaching and learning, and educational assessment were included.

Accordingly, Korea is preparing a foothold for revitalizing artificial intelligence education in the future, such as announcing an artificial intelligence education plan by expanding from software (SW) education that has become a regular curriculum after the 2015 revised curriculum, and various studies are being conducted. However, research on the curriculum related to what and how to educate in artificial intelligence education is still in its infancy and further research is needed. A look at related research shows many similarities and differences in research related to domestic and foreign AI curriculum, because there are differences in the areas and content elements that each research focuses on. Therefore, in this study, in preparation for the future independence of the information subject and the formalization of AI education, literature studies on domestic and foreign AI curriculum are conducted, and based on this, the direction of the curriculum composition for elementary school AI education is to be explored.

  • The objective of this study is to suggest problems and complementation of Korean curriculum by comparatively analyzing curriculums of domestic/foreign musical-related departments. In order to compare differences in domestic/foreign curriculums, selecting musical-related departments of domestic colleges with four-year course and 2 or 3-year course, and also five musical-related schools in the US and another five schools in France, the actual lesson status of dance curriculum was researched. In the results, for the development of Korean musical, it would be necessary to reorganize its curriculum. First, the systematic dance curriculum suitable for musical site would be needed. Second, the dance technique lesson suitable for diversified musical expressions should be strengthened. Third, teaching methods for the characterized musical dance would be necessary. Above all, we need effective education method concerned with performance venues. Musical students are facing difficulties in performing acting, singing, and dancing at the same time. In reality, it is even tough to learn a single area among them. For the original Korean-style musical that could be imitated by no one, the systematic curriculum of college is very important.
