  • Seoul Metropolitan Rapid Transit Corporation has 148's stations. Total length is 152km and most of the station is located in the basement and Groundwater occur inflow of 700,000 tons per day. Groundwater is treated as a natural flow way instead of artificial ways. Therefore, most of the collection wells is located in the low place or station for the efficient induction and collecting water. Manhole overtopping is occurring frequently because groundwater is concentrated in the drain pipe near the collecting well and heavy rainfall in summer. As a result, ballast contamination and radon levels are increased in tunnel. This paper introduces a solution is increasing overflow in tunnel, which introduces drainage system of non-motorized that uses differencial head between collecting well and manhole.

  • This paper presents the experiment and characteristics analysis of electromagnetic pump using linear induction motor(LIM). The electromagnetic pump is used to transfer the molten metals by electromagnetic force of LIM. The characteristics of LIM pump for molten metals: zinc, tin, aluminum are analysed solving the magnetohydrodynamics at constant magnetic flux. The molten zinc is used in the experiment and the experimental results are compared with the analysis.

  • Microstructures and mechanical properties of VIM/VAR/VAR-processed Ni-based Alloy718 ingot were investigated. Vacuum arc remelting(VAR) results in chill grain zone, columnar grain zone, and equi-axed grain zone in the ingot due to the difference in local solidification processes. Different grain structures of the remelting ingot result in the different hot workability for the given cogging conditions. Experimental results on microstructural inhomogeniety and material flow behavior under billet cogging conditions were presented, and their potential effects on the billet cogging process are discussed.

  • The end-ring may contribute a significant influence to the performance of machine. The induced currents flow through the bars of a cage rotor and complete their closed paths by passing around the end-ring. This dissertation is to describe a method for calculating end-ring resistance of squirrel cage rotor, based on 3-D finite element method(A-$\Phi$). The resistance under consideration of skin effect is calculated by using Joule's loss equation.

  • A propulsion system apparatus is needed for a railroad vehicle to test and estimate propulsion performance. The electrical inertia simulator to facilitate the development and testing of propulsion systems, is presented in this paper. It is based on a vector-controlled induction motor drive supplied from the AC mains through a double PWM converter that provides desirable features such as bi-directional power flow, nearly unity power factor and low harmonic factor at the AC mains. A theoretical analysis is first presented, followed by a detailed simulation study to assess the overall system performance under dynamic conditions.

  • In this study we investigated the effect of 3-methoxy-6-allylthiopyridazine on cell growth in BxPC3 and PANC1 human pancreatic cancer cells. The treatment with 3-methoxy-6-allylthiopyridazine for 48h decreased cell viability and induced apoptotic cell death in a dose-dependent manner, assessed by using the MTT assay and the flow cytometry, respectively. These results suggest that 3-methoxy-6-allylthiopyridazine may be a good candidate for the therapeutic management of human pancreatic cancers.

  • Electrorheological fluids(ERFs) show a rapid and reversible increase in viscosity by applied electric field. It is called the electrorheological effect (ER effect). The reason for ER effect is the induction of an electric dipole in each particle, leading to the formation of clusters in the direction of the field, which resist fluid flow. Generally, the behavior of ER fluids has been modeled on those of Bingham fluids. But there are some differences between Bingham fluids and ER fluids. The visualization of ER fliuds are presented and ER effects by the forming, growing and breaking of clusters are discussed. In the low shear rate area, the pressure drop is measured by a pressure sensor and the formation of ER particles is visualized by video camera. The reason for the nonlinear behavior of ER fluids at low shear rate is explained through results of visualization.

  • Superconducting tape easily can applied to distribution of electricity. It designs basic model of Saturable Reactor type Fault Current Limiter which used superconducting tape, and observes a specific character by means of simulation. Saturable Reactor type Fault Current Limiter is not influenced by saturation of Magnet core appeared in Induction Fault Current Limiter, because it exploit saturation of Iron core. But, it is possible that superconducting tape quenched when AC current flow to superconducting tape which biased DC voltage.

  • We cytogenetically analyzed a triploid King-Nupchi strain of the olive flounder Paralichthys olivaceus to define the simplest, most rapid, and most effective method of ploidy analysis in aquaculture farms. Female triploidy of the flounder King-Nupchi strain was induced by cold shock (3 min post-fertilization at 2-4℃ for 45 min). Triploid induction was confirmed by erythrocyte measurement (nuclear volume, 29.15±2.10 μm3); flow cytometry (2.14±0.03 pg/cell); chromosome count (3N=72); Ag-NOR banding; and silver staining. Silver staining of finned cells obtained using a solid tissue technique was the most effective method of ploidy verification.

  • 최근 전력계통의 전기품질에 대한 관심이 증가되고 있으며, 특히 배전계통에서의 고조파 발생은 수용가의 전기기기에 영향을 미칠 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 고조파 전류에 의한 유도전통기의 전기적 특성과 전기품질에 대한 영향을 분석하였으며, 리액터 설치에 의한 고조파전류의 흐름을 측정하였고, 전기품질 을 개선하기 위한 리액터 및 고조파 필터의 설치효과를 비교하였다. 고조파전류가 유도전동기에 유입되면 회전수, 토크, 슬립의 변동폭이 증가하였으며, 고조파 저감을 위하여 전원 측에 리액터를 설치하면 파형왜곡은 개선되었으나, 전압 강하가 발생하였다. 고조파 필터를 설치한 경우에는 전압 강하 및 파형왜곡이 크게 개선되는 효과가 있었으며, 유효전력이 약간 상승하였다.
