마이크로스트립 라인에서 유한요소법을 이용한 전도노이즈 흡수체의 성능해석 (FEM Analysis of Conduction Noise Absorbers in Microstrip Line)

  • 전자기적 해석 시뮬레이션 프로그램인 유한요소 방식의 HFSS(High Frequency Structure Simulation)를 사용하여, 전도 노이즈 흡수 sheet의 흡수특성을 해석하고 그 결과 값을 실측값과 비교함으로써 해석방법의 타당성을 검토하였다. 마이크로스트립 선로는 $S_{11}\simeq-30dB,\;S_{21}=0dB$의 반사투과 특성을 보여 전도 노이즈 흡수율 측정에 이상적인 전송특성을 보였다. 순철 압분체-고무 복합체 sheet의 복소비투자율과 복소비유전율을 입력하여 노이즈 흡수율을 계산한 결과 실측치와 비교적 잘 일치하는 해석결과를 얻었다. 주파수, 흡수계의 크기(특히 선로를 덮는 길이)에 따라 노이즈 흡수율은 현저한 변화를 보였으며, 이는 재료의 손실 특성과 밀접히 연관되어 있음을 제시하였다. 이러한 해석방법은 다양한 조성 및 크기의 전도 노이즈 흡수체의 설계에 유용히 사용될 수 있음을 제안할 수 있다.

  • The reaction-sintered alumina and zirconia-alumina ceramics having low firing shrinkage were prepared from the Al/Al2O3 or Al/ZrO2(Ca-PSZ) powder mixtures via the attrition milling. And in this milling process the effect of the characteristics of used powders was investigated. Attrition milling was much more effective in reducing the particle size of ceramic/metal mixed powders than ball milling. Powder mixtures of flake-type Al with coarse alumina was much more effectively comminuted by the attrition milling than the mixtures of globular-type Al with coarse alumina powders. And coarse alumina than fine alumina was much more beneficial in cutting and reducing the ductile Al particles. In the contrary to Al/Al2O3 powder mixtures, Al/ZrO2 powder mixtures was not effectively comminutd. But whether using the alumina ball media or attrition milled with Al2O3 powder rather than Al, the milling efficiency was much more increased.

배향된 판상 기공구조를 통해 열전도도 이방성을 갖는 다공질 재료의 제조 (Fabrication of Porous Materials having an Anisotropic Thermal Conductivity through the Alignment of Plate-shaped Pores)

  • In order to fabricate porous materials having an anisotropic thermal conductivity by aligning plate-shaped pores structure, alumina powder (AM-21, mean particle size $4\mum$) and flake crystalline graphite was used. The aligned pore structure was realized using multi-pressing process. Degree of pore orientation increased with the number of pressing and thermal conductivity, parallel to the pressing direction, decreased with the number of pressing. Thermal conductivity decreased significantly to the addition of 30vol% crystalline graphite, however, in the case of 60vol%, thermal conductivity did not decrease significantly due to the breakage of crystalline graphite. An anisotropy of the thermal conductivity increased with the content of crystalline graphite up to 30vol%. Graded pore structure was fabricated by controlling the content and size of crystalline graphite, which provides, possibly, the enhancement in mechanical strength and thermal insulation properties of the insulating bricks.

화장품에 사용되는 백색분체의 미세구조와 실리카의 특성 (Property of Silica and Fine Structure of Cosmetic White Powders)

  • 본 연구는 색조화장품에 사용되는 실리카, 이산화티탄, 탈크, 카올린과 BB크림 화장품에서 분리한 혼합물의 미세구조를 주사전자현미경을 사용하여 관찰하였다. 카올린은 판상의 다각형 구조로 매끄러운 표면을 가지고 있었고 가장자리는 탈크의 경계면과 비교하였을 때 상대적으로 부드러운 모양을 하고 있었다. 또한 여러 겹의 층으로 형성된 덩어리에서 각 층의 두께는 약 $0.1{\mu}M$로 측정되었다. 탈크는 아주 얇은 박편상으로 이들 박편들이 층을 이루고 있는 덩어리 형태로 관찰되었다. 이들 얇은 판상의 탈크 경계면은 뾰족하거나 각이진 형태로 관찰되었으며 박편두께는 약 600 nm로 관찰되었다. 카올린과 탈크의 박편두께를 비교하였을 때 카올린 박편의 두께가 두꺼운 것으로 나타났다. 이산화티탄은 직경이 0.2~0.3 ${\mu}M$로 측정되었고 입자 표면이 부드러운 입방형의 형태를 하고 있었다. 실리카는 구형의 형태로 크기가 200 nm에서부터 $15{\mu}M$까지 아주 다양한 크기로 관찰되었다. BB크림 화장품에서 무기안료들을 관찰한 결과 실리카는 균질하게 분산되어 있었고 이들 사이에 크기가 상대적으로 작은 탈크, 카올린, 이산화티탄, 산화철 등이 채워져 있었다. 결론적으로 색조화장품에서 실리카는 피부에 화장막을 형성하는 최소한의 두께로 작용한다.

인산형 연료전지 분리판용 천연흑연-불소수지계 복합재료의 흑연입도에 따른 전기비저항 변화 (Electrical Resistivity of Natural Graphite-Fluorine Resin Composite for Bipolar Plates of Phosphoric Acid Fuel Cell(PAFC) Depending on Graphite Particle Size)

  • A composite material was prepared for the bipolar plates of phosphoric acid fuel cells(PAFC) by hot pressing a flake type natural graphite powder as a filler material and a fluorine resin as a binder. Average particle sizes of the powders were 610.3, 401.6, 99.5, and $37.7{\mu}m$. The density of the composite increased from 2.25 to $2.72g/cm^3$ as the graphite size increased from 37.7 to $610.3{\mu}m$. The anisotropy ratio of the composite increased from 1.8 to 490.9 as the graphite size increased. The flexural strength of the composite decreased from 15.60 to 8.94MPa as the graphite size increased. The porosity and the resistivity of the composite showed the same tendencies, and decreased as the graphite size increased. The lowest resistivity and porosity of the composite were $1.99{\times}10^{-3}{\Omega}cm$ and 2.02 %, respectively, when the graphite size was $401.6{\mu}m$. The flexural strength of the composite was 10.3MPa when the graphite size was $401.6{\mu}m$. The lowest resistance to electron mobility was well correlated with the composite with lowest porosity. It was possible the flaky large graphite particles survive after the hot pressing process.

초음파 처리에 의한 수화제 현탁액의 분산 특성 (Dispersion Characteristics of Wettable Powder Suspension by Ultrasonication)

  • This study was carried out to settle the plugging problem which occurs frequently when agricultural wettable powder is used in pest control work using the crushing and the dispersing effects caused by irradiation of ultrasonic wave. Sonication was applied to the wettable powder suspension in a beaker for 30 seconds using a 28 kHz, 200 W PZT BLT, and the image of suspension before and after sonication was observed using a microscope and a SEM. The image of tow commercial wettable powder suspensions in water observed using an optics microscope showed that the agglomerated particles were irregularly distributed over the whole observed region when stirred mechanically, while showing more uniform distribution composed of comparatively single particles in the whole observed region after sonication. Concerning the above, the projected areas of particles in the four suspensions after sonication were decreased distinctively in the observed range of the microscope and the atomization of crystals was much developed. Over the measured range of 5.6∼4,157 ${\mu}$m particle size, the overall projected area of particles was decreased to 58.3∼89.6% on the average after sonication. When the SEM images of sonicated wettable powder suspensions dissolved in water and CH$_3$OH were compared to the suspensions before sonication, such phenomena as the atomization of particles, the expansion of voids between particles, the reduction and the decrease of agglomerated particle groups, and the progress of crack developments on the surface of flake-shaped particles were observed. It seemed possible that the plugging problem that occurs frequently in pest control machine when using wettable powder would be settled by the use of sonication.

Characteristics of Expanded Graphite Filled Conductive Polymer Composites for PEM Fuel Cell Bipolar Plates

  • This study aims to optimize the mechanical and electrical properties of electrically conductive polymer composites (CPCs) for use as a material of bipolar plates for PEM fuel cells. The thin CPCs consisting of conductive fillers and polymer resin were fabricated by a preform molding technique. Expanded graphite (EG), flake-type graphite (FG) and carbon fiber (CF) were used as conductive fillers. This study tested two types of CPCs, EG/FG filled CPCs and EG/CF filled CPCs, to optimize the material properties. First, the characteristics of EG/FG filled CPCs were investigated according to the FG ratio for 7 and $100{\mu}m$ sized FG. CPCs using $100{\mu}m$ FG showed optimal material properties at 60 wt% FG ratio, which were an electrical conductivity of 390 S/cm and flexural strength of 51 MPa. The particle size was an important parameter to change the mechanical and electrical behaviors. The flexural strength was sensitive to the particle size due to the different levels of densification. The electrical conductivity also showed size-dependent behavior because of the different contributions to the conductive network. Meanwhile, the material properties of EG/CF filled CPCs was also optimized according to the CF ratio, and the optimized electrical conductivity and flexural strength were 290 S/cm and 58 MPa, respectively. The electrical conductivity of this case decreased similarly to the EG/FG filled case. On the other hand, the behavior of the flexural strength was more complicated than the EG/FG filled case, and the reason was attributed to the interaction between the strengthening effect of CF and the deterioration of voids.

  • The research on electromagnetic shielding has been advanced for military applications as well as for commercial products. Utilizing the reflective properties and absorptive properties of shielding material, the replied signal measured at the rear surface or at the signal source can be minimized. The shielding effect was obtained from materials having special absorptive properties or from structural characteristics such as stacking sequence. Recently researchers studied the electromagnetic properties of nano size particles. In this research {glass fiber}/{epoxy}/{nano particle} composites(GFR-Nano composites), was fabricated using various nano particles, and their properties in electromagnetic shielding were compared. For the visual observation of the nano composite materials, SEM(Scanning Electron Microscope) and TEM(Transmission Electron Microscope) were used. For the measurement of electromagnetic shielding, HP8719ES S-parameter Vector Network Analyser System was used on the frequency range of 8 GHz~12GHz. Among the nano particles, carbon black and Multi-Walled Carbon Nano-Tube (MWCNT) revealed outstanding electromagnetic shielding. Although silver nano particles (flake and powder) were expected to have effective electromagnetic shielding due to their excellent electric conductivities, test showed little shielding effect.

서브 마이크론급 구형 동분말의 볼 밀링을 통한 플레이크 동분말의 제조 (Fabrication of Cu Flakes by Ball Milling of Sub-micrometer Spherical Cu Particles)

  • 직경 수 마이크론급의 Ag 코팅 Cu 플레이크를 제조하기 위한 선행공정으로 습식 화학적 합성법으로 제조된 서브마이크론급의 Cu 입자를 볼 밀링 공정을 통해 프레이크화 하였다. 입자들의 산화 및 응집을 막기 위해 볼 밀링 유체로는 에틸렌글리콜을 사용하였고, 에틸아세테이트 표면개질제도 첨가하였다. 용기의 회전수에 따른 실험 결과를 통해 회전수에 따른 회전 모드의 변화가 밀링 후 Cu 입자들의 평균적인 형상과 형상 균일도를 크게 변화시킴을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한 첨가한 지르코니아 볼의 직경 역시 Cu 입자들의 플레이크화 균일도를 결정하는 대표 공정변수임을 확인할 수 있었다. 그 결과 다소간의 응집체를 포함한 서브마이크론급의 Cu 입자를 사용했음에도 불구하고, 회전수, 표면개질제 첨가량, 그리고 지르코니아 볼의 직경 등의 대표 공정변수들을 최적화한 볼 밀링 공정을 통해 분산성이 우수한 수 마이크론급의 Cu 플레이크를 성공적으로 제조할 수 있었다.
