ON SUFFICIENT CONDITIONS FOR CARATHÉODORY FUNCTIONS WITH THE FIXED SECOND COEFFICIENT

  • In the present paper, we derive several sufficient conditions for $Carath{\acute{e}}odory$ functions in the open unit disk ${\mathbb{D}}:=\{z{\in}{\mathbb{C}}:{\mid}z{\mid}<1\}$ under the constraint that the second coefficient of the function is preassigned. And, we obtain some sufficient conditions for strongly starlike functions in ${\mathbb{D}}$.

  • Sharp radius constants for certain classes of normalized analytic functions with fixed second coefficient, to be in the classes of starlike functions of positive order, parabolic starlike functions, and Sokół-Stankiewicz starlike functions are obtained. Our results extend several earlier works.

  • For functions $f(z)=z+a_2z^2+a_3z^3+{\cdots}$ with ${\mid}a_2{\mid}=2b$, $b{\geq}0$, sharp radii of starlikeness of order ${\alpha}(0{\leq}{\alpha}<1)$, convexity of order ${\alpha}(0{\leq}{\alpha}<1)$, parabolic starlikeness and uniform convexity are derived when ${\mid}a_n{\mid}{\leq}M/n^2$ or ${\mid}a_n{\mid}{\leq}Mn^2$ (M>0). Radii constants in other instances are also obtained.

SIR 기반 대칭 헤어핀 광대역 대역저지 여파기 (Design of SIR-based Bandstop Filter with Symmetrical Hairpin Wideband)

  • 본 논문은 향상된 성능을 가진 개선 된 헤어핀 커플 링 구조인 스텝 임피던스 공진기 (SIR : Stepped Impedance Resonator)를 이용한 광대역 대역저지 여파기 (WBSF : Wide Band Stop Filter)를 설계하였다. SIR WBSF는 크기가 작고 탁월한 대역저지 특성을 갖는 장점이 있다. 설계된 BSF는 ${\lambda}/4$길이의 사각 모양의 헤어핀형을 입력과 출력 전송 라인 상측과 하측에 배치하여 대칭형이 되도록한 구조이다. 입출력 단자는시스템 응용을 위해 50 ohm으로 종단 되었다. SIR WBSF의 중심 주파수는 3.15 GHz의 제2 고조파 인 6.3 GHz이다. 설계된 여파기의 3dB 대역폭은 2.9 GHz이고 전송계수 ($S_{21}$)는 33.2 dB이다. 중심 주파수에서 반사계수 ($S_{11}$)은 0.106 dB이다. 응용분야는 육상고정 마이크로웨이브 중계국, 고정된 위성과 지구국, 고정 위성간 통신에 사용된다. 전체 크기는 $20mm{\times}10mm$이다.

Seismic responses of structure isolated by FPB subject to pounding between the sliding interfaces considering soil-structure interaction

  • The study aims to investigate the pounding that occurs between the isolator's ring and slider of isolated structures resulting from excessive seismic excitation, while considering soil-structure interaction. The dynamic responses and poundings of structures subjected a series seismic records were comparatively analyzed for three different soil types and fixed-base structures. A series of parametric studies were conducted to thoroughly discuss the effects of the impact displacement ratio, the FPB friction coefficient ratio, and the radius ratio on the structural dynamic response when considering impact and SSI. It was found that the pounding is extremely brief, with an exceptionally large pounding force generated by impact, resulting in significant acceleration pulse. The acceleration and inter-story shear force of the structure experiencing pounding were greater than those without considering pounding. Sudden changes in the inter-story shear force between the first and second floors of the structure were also observed. The dynamic response of structures in soft ground was significantly lower than that of structures in other ground conditions under the same conditions, regardless of the earthquake wave exciting the structure. When the structure is influenced by pulse-type earthquake records, its dynamic response exhibits a trend of first intensifying and then weakening as the equivalent radius ratio and friction coefficient ratio increase. However, it increases with an increase in the pounding displacement ratio, equivalent radius ratio, friction coefficient ratio, and displacement ratio when the structures are subjected to non-pulse-type seismic record.

자동차용 터보차저의 오버헝 압축기 볼류트의 두 형태에 대한 유동장 특성 (Flow Characteristics of Two Types of Overhung Compressor Volute for Automobile Turbocharger)

  • 자동차용 터보차저 원심압축기의 오버헝 볼류트의 두 가지 타입에 대한 유동장 특성이 수치적으로 연구되었다. 볼류트의 성능을 높이기 위해서는 높은 압력회복계수와 낮은 손실계수를 갖도록 함이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 디퓨저 입구각을 $24^{\circ}$, 질량유량을 0.055 kg/s 로 유지하고 두 가지 타입의 오버헝 볼류트에 대한 유동장 특성을 조사하였다. 하나는 1 개의 원호로 이루어진 볼류트 단면(타입 1)이며, 다른 하나는 3 개의 원호로 이루어진 볼류트 단면(타입 2)이다. 타입 2 볼류트가 타입 1 볼류트 보다 원주방향 전체를 통틀어 높은 압력회복계수와 낮은 손실계수를 보여주었다.

FINITE-DIFFERENCE BISECTION ALGORITHMS FOR FREE BOUNDARIES OF AMERICAN OPTIONS

  • This paper presents two algorithms based on the Jamshidian equation which is from the Black-Scholes partial differential equation. The first algorithm is for American call options and the second one is for American put options. They compute numerically free boundary and then option price, iteratively, because the free boundary and the option price are coupled implicitly. By the upwind finite-difference scheme, we discretize the Jamshidian equation with respect to asset variable s and set up a linear system whose solution is an approximation to the option value. Using the property that the coefficient matrix of this linear system is an M-matrix, we prove several theorems in order to formulate a bisection method, which generates a sequence of intervals converging to the fixed interval containing the free boundary value with error bound h. These algorithms have the accuracy of O(k + h), where k and h are step sizes of variables t and s, respectively. We prove that they are unconditionally stable. We applied our algorithms for a series of numerical experiments and compared them with other algorithms. Our algorithms are efficient and applicable to options with such constraints as r > d, $r{\leq}d$, long-time or short-time maturity T.

PWM-Based Sliding Mode Controller for Three-Level Full-Bridge DC-DC Converter that Eliminates Static Output Voltage Error

  • This paper proposes a pulse width modulation (PWM)-based sliding mode controller (SMC) for a full-bridge DC-DC converter that can eliminate static output voltage error. Hysteretic SMC in DC-DC converter does not have a fixed switching frequency, and applying hysteretic SMC to full-bridge converters is difficult. Fixed-frequency SMC, which is also called PWM-based SMC, based on equivalent control overcomes these shortcomings. However, the controller order reduction in equivalent control in PWM-based SMC causes static output voltage error. To resolve this issue, an integral item is added to the PWM-based SMC. Sliding mode coefficients are designed by applying a standard second-order system to the sliding mode surface. The effect of adding an integral item on the controller is analyzed, and an integral coefficient design method is proposed. Experiment results on a three-level full-bridge DC-DC converter verify the control scheme and design method proposed in this paper.

A damage model predicting moderate temperature and size effects on concrete in compression

  • Experimental isotherm compressive tests show that concrete behaviour is dependent on temperature. The aim of such tests is to reproduce how concrete will behave under environmental changes within a moderate range of temperature. In this paper, a novel constitutive elastic damage behaviour law is proposed based on a free energy with an apparent damage depending on temperature. The proposed constitutive behaviour leads to classical theory of thermo-elasticity at small strains. Fixed elastic mechanical characteristics and fixed evolution law of damage independent of temperature and the material volume element size are considered. This approach is applied to compressive tests. The model predicts compressive strength and secant modulus of elasticity decrease as temperature increases. A power scaling law is assumed for specific entropy as function of the specimen size which leads to a volume size effect on the stress-strain compressive behaviour. The proposed model reproduces theoretical and experimental results from literature for tempertaures ranging between $20^{\circ}C$ and $70^{\circ}C$. The effect of the difference in the coefficient of thermal expansion between the mortar and coarse aggregates is also considered which gives a better agreement with FIB recommendations. It is shown that this effect is of a second order in the considered moderate range of temperature.

  • This paper presents the control algorithm of single-phase hybrid active power filter for the compensation of harmonic current components in nonlinear R-L load with passive active Power filters. To construct two phase system, an imaginary second phase was made. In this proposed method, the new signal which is the delayed through the filtering by the phase-delay property of low-pass filter is used as the secondary phase. Because two-phases have the different phase, the instantaneous calculation of harmonic current is possible. In this paper, a reference voltage is created by multiplying the coefficient k by the compensation current using the rotating reference frame synchronized with the source-frequency, not applying to instantaneous reactive power theory which has been used with the existing fixed reference frames In order to verify the validities of the proposed control methods, experiments are carried out with the prototypes of single-phase hybrid active power filter.
