국내에 수입되는 어류의 코드 부여를 위한 목록 재정립 (Reestablishment of the List for Code Assignment for Fish Imported into Korea)

  • Many fish species are imported into Korea from various countries. However, in the case of some fish species, there are many that do not have Korean names. Species similar in morphology to domestically produced aquatic products are often disguised as being domestically produced and distributed. Therefore, this study presents a species list for 1,032 fish imported into Korea. Fish species that have not been given Korean names have been given a Korean name using a scientific method to prevent confusion during seafood distribution. Standards for naming stingrays, skates, and mackerel, which are often confused when a country name is being assigned are presented.

통발어선의 작업안전 재해 분석 (A analysis of occupational accidents in the Korea trap fishing vessel)

  • Fisheries is known as a high-risk industry in Korea, and various efforts have been made to reduce occupational accidents. Trap fisheries represent crustacean production, accounting for 4.7% of total fisheries production and 10.7% of its production value, which is classified as a relatively high-risk industry. With the disaster insurance payment data of the National Federation of Fisheries Cooperatives (NFFC) from 2016 to 2020, the accident rate of the entire fishery, the accident rate of trap fisheries, and the type of disasters in the past five years were analyzed. As a result, the average fishery accident rate for the past five years was 5.31%, but it was high at 6.15% for coastal trap fisheries and 5.59% for offshore trap fisheries. Slips and trips, struck by objects and contact with machinery were the most common types of the accident according to the characteristics of the work, and hand injuries were analyzed the most. Additional efforts, including education for accident prevention, development of personal protective equipment and improvement of the working environment, are needed to prevent accidents caused by repeated types of disasters.

  • This study is aimed to analyze the establishing of fisheries management consulting system by case study of similar organizations. For a gradual extension of new technology of fisheries, National Fisheries Research and Development Institute(NFRDI) has launched fisheries consulting project including management in 2010. Fisheries management consulting needs practical and theoretical background regarding its standardization of process, systematization. To achieve this, fisheries management consulting system has to follow farm management consulting system by means of benchmarking. In order to analyze farm management consulting system, I investigated its role organizations(MIFAFF, RDA, KFRI), farm consulting guide. And also, it was conducted to investigated establishing of fisheries management consulting system through development of standard management consulting table and consulting indicators. The research results showed that the realm of fisheries management consulting should be redefined and systematized apposite to the case of fisheries actual conditions. In recent years, to enhance improvement of the fisheries income, there is need to be focused on the efficient utilization of fisheries management consulting system. It is expected that fisheries management consulting system be main issue in fisheries industry.

전라북도의 수산교육에 관한 사적 고찰;- 중등교육기관을 중심으로 - (A Historical Study on the Fisheries Education in Chonbuk Province;- Focused in the School of Secondary Grade -)

  • The purpose of this paper is to consolidate historical documents and witnesses about the school of secondary grade which have taken charge of fisheries education in Chonbuk province. It is found out that Kunsan Fisheries School is the first one establised in 1915 among the regular fisheries education institute in Korea. It is suspected that the reason Chonbuk province has no a school of secondary grade since Kunsan Fisheries High School was closed in 1968(all province which have coastal area have the secondary school of fisheries education) is because agriculture is more important industry-than fisheries from the geographical point of view in Chonbuk province.

남·북·일 붉은 대게 산업협력 (South·North Korea, Japan Red Snow Crab Industry Cooperation)

  • This study focuses on red snow crabs for fisheries cooperation in South Korea, North Korea, and Japan. South Korea, North Korea, and Japan have had experience in promoting red snow crab fisheries cooperation. However, this cooperation is now discontinued. South Korea, North Korea, and Japan are required to play a role in mediating South Korea in order to promote red snow crabs fisheries cooperation. South Korea has the capacity to carry out economic intervention in North Korea and Japan. This is even more so in the red snow crabs. On the other, South Korea, North Korea and Japan's red snow crabs fisheries cooperation can develop into Northeast Asian fisheries cooperation including Russia and China. This can be done through the major fisheries of the East Sea, the squid and the alaska pollocks. The role of the Korean peninsula is important in Northeast Asian fisheries cooperation.

순천 상내리 갯벌역에 출현하는 풀망둑(Synechogobius hasta)의 식성 (Feeding Habits of Javelin Goby Synechogobius hasta on Tide Flat in Sangnae-ri Suncheon, Korea)

  • During the study period, a total of 158 individuals of Synechogobius hasta were collected. The range of body length (BL) was 15.4-44.5 cm. The stomachs of 26.6% of the individuals were empty. The most abundant prey was shrimp. Among shrimp, Exopalaemon orientis was the most abundant species, being present in 27% in %IRI (index of relative importance). Fishes and crabs were also abundant prey. Analysis of ontogenetic changes, suggested that shrimp were the main prey of S. hasta of two size classes (<20 and 20-25 cm). The proportion of shrimp decreased, but that of fishes and crabs increased, with increasing body length, beginning at the 25-30 cm size class. In spring, fishes were the dominant prey, while shrimps, and crabs and fishes dominated in autumn and winter, respectively.

  • The diet of Glyptocephalus stelleri was studied using 475 specimens collected in the coastal waters of the East Sea of Korea. The specimens ranged from 6.8 to 43.4 cm in total length (TL). G. stelleri was a crustacean feeder that consumed mainly euphausiids [percent index of relative importance (%IRI)=63.7%]. Polychaetes were the second largest prey component. The diet also included small quantities of bivalves, copepods, amphipods and shrimps. Individuals smaller than 15 cm TL fed mainly on euphausiids. The proportion of euphausiids decreased as body size increased, whereas the consumption of polychaetes increased gradually.

한국 남해에 출현하는 삼치(Scomberomorus niphonius)의 위내용물 조성 (Diet Composition of Spanish Mackerel Scomberomorus niphonius, in the South Sea of Korea)

  • The diet composition of Spanish mackerel Scomberomorus niphonius, was investigated using 853 specimens collected using two-boat trawl, stow net, gill net and set net from January to December 2019 from the South Sea of Korea. The size of the specimens ranged from 25.2 to 114.8 cm in fork length. S. niphonius fed mostly on fishes. Its diets also included small quantities of shrimps, cephalopods, crabs, stomatopods, etc. Among them, Engraulis japonicus was the dominant species. The dietary composition of S. niphonius exhibited significant differences based on their size. The proportion of Trichiurus japonicus increased as body size of S. niphonius increased, whereas the proportion of E. japonicus decreased gradually. As the body size of S. niphonius increased, the mean weight of prey per the stomach (mW/ST) tended to increase significantly (one-way ANOVA, P<0.05).

한국 동해에 출현하는 살오징어(Todarodes pacificus)의 위내용물 조성 (Diet Composition of Common Flying Squid Todarodes pacificus in the Coastal Waters of East Sea, Korea)

  • The diet composition of common flying squid Todarodes pacificus was studied using 1,084 specimens collected through trawl and jigging from June 2018 to June 2020 in the East Sea of Korea. The mantle length (ML) of the collected individuals ranged from 13.6 to 31.1 cm. Todarodes pacificus is a carnivore. In the study area, T. pacificus was observed feeding mainly on fish and cephalopods, in addition to small quantities of crustaceans. The calculated trophic level value for T. pacificus was 4.10. Small individuals (ML, <18.0 cm) mainly fed on cephalopods, while intermediate (ML, 18.0-23.0 cm) and large (ML, ≥23.0 cm) individuals fed mainly on fish and occasionally on cephalopods. Overall, as the body size of T. pacificus increased, the mean weight of the consumed prey increased (one-way ANOVA, P<0.05).

한국 여수 연안에 출현하는 참문어(Octopus vulgaris)의 위내용물 조성 (Diet Composition of Common Octopus Octopus vulgaris in the Coastal Waters of Yeosu, Korea)

  • The diet composition of octopus Octopus vulgaris was studied using 392 specimens collected from January to December 2020 in the coastal waters of Yeosu, Korea. The body weight ranged from 86.4 to 3,645.4 g. The most important prey item in the diet of O. vulgaris was decapods, which constituted 43.9% in ranking index (%RI). The second largest prey item was Pisces (%RI=27.9%), and cephalopods (%RI=21.8%) constituted the third largest prey item. The average trophic level of O. vulgaris was 3.97±0.59. Ontogenetic changes were significant among size classes (<400 g, 400-800 g, ≥800 g). The small size class (<400 g) mainly fed on decapods, whereas the medium (400-800 g) and large size (≥800 g) classes mainly fed on cephalopods and Pisces, respectively. The dietary composition varied significantly with season.
