  • The health of feet is connected with individual's health and affects a man's activity. Shoes need to be designed to protect feet and to absorb the impact of land. Thus, design, comfort and economical efficiency are important factors of shoes. Consumers can choose suitable shoes for their feet in off-line shopping. However, in on-line shopping, because they can not wear shoes, compare to the off-line shopping, there are many problems in internet shopping. First, consumers can get limited information of shoes because they must search information of purchase without other's help. Second, because consumers can not get important information such as design, size and a comfort of wearing, they can not make a careful decision. Above these, the solution of user-oriented internet shopping is development of new type of prototype which is accessible to user and to offer visual information through 3D-virtual reality. The purpose of this study is to develpoment of shoes easy-order prototype so to reduce of internet shopping risk and offer to shopping convenience. Contents of the new prototype are as follows; 1. Consumers can print out a foot shaped plane figure and compare it to their foot. If the size of printed sheet is not proper, consumers can choose another size. Through this step, they can get their own size. 2. In 3D-virtual reality, consumers can get a various visual information. So they feel wearing comfort indirectly. It is expected that the result of this study would be an important case study to develop of shoes' easy-order prototype for a disabled person.

  • We characterize multipath fading channel dynamics at the packet level and analyze the corresponding data queueing performance in various environments. We identify the similarity between wire-line queueing analysis and wireless network per-formance analysis. The second order channel statistics, i.e. channel power spectrum, is fecund to play an important role in the modeling of multipath fading channels. However, it is identified that the first order statistics, i.e. channel CDF also has significant impact on queueing performance. We use a special Markov chain, so-called CMPP, throughout this paper.

  • The aim of this study is to investigate the direction of improvement of safety experience education through the analysis of the evacuation time experiment. For the study, test subjects were divided into groups of similar body size and weight. The test subjects were directly experienced four evacuation devices, and the experience time was measured. As a result of the analysis of the total time from the installation of the evacuation device to the escape, the time was measured in the order of Descending Life Line-Tilt-Down Rescue Line-Vertical Escape Chute-air safety mat. In the case of evaluating the evacuation time using evacuation mechanisms, the evacuation time was measured in the order of air safety mat-Tilt-Tilt-Down Rescue Line-Descending Life Line-Vertical Escape Chute. In the first and second experiments of the Descending Life Line, time differences were observed. The escape time using the Descending Life Line was reduced in the second experiment than in the first experiment. As shown in this result, education through experience has shown that behavioral confidence and time can be managed. The conclusion of this study is that the goal of safety education is to minimize human life and property damage. Therefore, in order to bring this effect to more people, it is necessary to make efforts to keep self-safe through experiential education.

  • This paper presents a method for real-time estimation of TCSC quantity in order to enhance the power system transient stability energy margin using fuzzy neural network in multi-machine system. This paper has two parts, the first part is to estimate the energy margin. To set critical energy, we use the potential energy boundary surface(PEBS) method which one of the transient energy function(TEF) method. And the second is to determine the TCSC quantify and the line to be injected. In order to make training data in this step, we use genetic algorithm. The proposed method is applied to 6-bus, 7-line, 4-machine model system to show its effectiveness.

  • In this paper, we propose a stroke matching method for the off-line recognition of handprinted Hangul. In this method, the preprocessing steps such as position normalization, contour tracing and thinning are carried out first. Then, after extracting features such as the firection component distribution of contour, the direction component distribution of skeleton, and the distribution of structural feature points, strokes are extracted and matched based on the midpont distribution of the direction and the length of each stroke. In order to reduce the recognition time, a preliminary classification based on the direction component distribution features of the contour is performed. In order to domonstrate the performance of the proposed method, experiments with 520 most frequently used Hangul were performed, and 90.7% of correct recognition rate and 0.46second of recognition time per one character has been obtained. This results reveal that the proposed method can absorb effectively the noise in input character and the variations of stroke slant.

  • This paper presents a novel and efficient method to calculate the critical point of voltage collapse. Conjugate gradient and modified Newton-Raphson methods are employed to calculate two pairs of multiple load flow solutions for two operating conditions, i.e., both +mode and -mode voltages for two loading conditions respectively. Then these four voltage magnitude-load data sets of the bus which is most susceptible to voltage collapse, are fitted to third order polynomial using Lagrangian interpolation in order to represent approximate nose curve (P-V curve). This nose curve locates first estimate of the critical point of voltage collapse. The procedure described above is repeated near the critical point and the new estimate will be very close to the critical point. The proposed method is tested for the eleven bus Klos-Kerner system, with good accuracy and fast computation time.

  • This is preliminary study concerning the future construction and operation of 345KV power transmission line in Korea which will be added to the existing 161KV power system by the end of 1970 in order to increase the power carrying capacity between Seoul and Pusan area; 350 kilo meters aparts, in accordance with the ambitious second five years power development schedule of Korea Electric Company. The result of this study says that an intermidiate switching station should be installed at the middle position of the line to improve the transient stability of the system, considerable amount of capacitors or synchronous condenser are to be installed to reduce the voltage drop at receving end of line during the heavy load hours, and also in some measure to avoid the voltage rise by self-excitation of power generators during the light load hours and while energizing the line. This is the first attempt to realize the EHV power transmission line in Korea so that the additional study is necessary on the kind and size of conductors, the necessary number of insulators and the suitable clearance distances between conductor and steel tower or earth from the technical and economical view points. These are necessary steps to be taken by the writer before getting into the calculation on the transient stablity of the power system.

  • Cold rolled steel has much plastic strain in the material surface produced by manufacturing process. The strain causes the variation of surface residual stress, in which influences the fatigue behavior under repeated loading. As experimental results, it was confirmed that the behavior of residual stress ${\sigma}_r$, with cycle N consisted of three stages except stress amplitude near fatigue limit in SPCC steel. On the first stage compressive residual stress decreased rapidly, on the second stage gradually, and on the last stage slightly. The relation between ${\sigma}_r$, and log N appeared linear behavior except the early part of cycle ratio $N/N_f$. The average gradient of ${\sigma}_r$, with respect to log N seemed to take a constant value without initial cycle ratio. On the other hand, the $N_f$ line was regressed by the first-order polynomial equation on ${\sigma}_r-log\;N_f$ diagram. Therefore, this study showed that both the gradient of ${\sigma}_r$, with respect to log N and the $N_f$ line was useful in predicting the cycle ratio $N/N_f$.

  • If the ambient temperature rises for AC PDP, some of the discharge cells are turned off because of the misfiring during address period. Particularly, the misfiring of the 'last scan line is more serious than that of the first. In order to compensate the misfiring in such that case, different addressing voltage is applied at each cell such as progressively increasing pulse voltage instead of constant one. As a result, the addressing time and discharge charge of the last scan line have become similar to those of the first scan line and the phenomenon of misfiring has disappeared.

  • This paper presents an integrated analysis about dynamic performance of a Floating Offshore Wind Turbine (FOWT) OC4 DeepCwind with semi-submersible platform under real sea environment. The emphasis of this paper is to investigate how the wave mean drift force and slow-drift wave excitation load (Quadratic transfer function, namely QTF) influence the platform motions, mooring line tension and tower base bending moments. Second order potential theory is being used for computing linear and nonlinear wave effects, including first order wave force, mean drift force and slow-drift excitation loads. Morison model is utilized to account the viscous effect from fluid. This approach considers floating wind turbine as an integrated coupled system. Two time-domain solvers, SIMA (SIMO/RIFLEX/AERODYN) and FAST are being chosen to analyze the global response of the integrated coupled system under small, moderate and severe sea condition. Results show that second order mean drift force and slow-drift force will drift the floater away along wave propagation direction. At the same time, slow-drift force has larger effect than mean drift force. Also tension of the mooring line at fairlead and tower base loads are increased accordingly in all sea conditions under investigation.
