In this paper, for eliminating the spurious solutions which have been necessarily included in the solutions of earlier vectorial finite-element method, we have proposed the improved finite-element method for the analysis of dielectric waveguides in the three-component magnetic field.

We count the isomorphism classes of elliptic curves over finite fields $\mathbb{F}_{3^{n}}$ and list a representative of each isomorphism class. Also we give the number of rational points for each supersingular elliptic curve over $\mathbb{F}_{3^{n}}$.

In general, polygonal products of free groups are not residually finite. Using the residual finiteness of polygonal products of nilpotent groups, we show that certain polygonal products of free groups are residually finite.

Compact schemes are shown to be effective for a class of problems including convection-diffusion equations when combined with multigrid algorithms [7, 8] and V-cycle convergence is proved[5]. We apply the multigrid algorithm for an semianalytic finite difference scheme, which is desinged to preserve high order accuracy despite of singularities.

In this paper, we introduce duadic codes over finite local rings and concentrate on quadratic residue codes. We study their properties and give the comprehensive method for the computing the unique idempotent generator of quadratic residue codes.
