  • Field classes are necessary to grow the ability of and an attitude toward exploring nature and to shape the basic concept of natural science. I tried to develop a site for field classes and the old road Naori's hill is an ideal place with convenient traffic and established youth camps. As a result the vegetation was divided into five associations and communities. The vegetation units obtained in the present study were as follow: Quercus acutissima community, Pinus densiflora community, Pinus densiflora-Quercus acutissima community, Quercus acutissima-Pinus densiflora community, and Quercus mongolica community. In all survey areas 100 family 336 genus 587 species of palants was found. Furthermore, it provides lots of plants throughout the seasons. Not only the flora but also flowering phenology, variety of floral color and growth habits can be used as teaching items. Incorporation of diverse knowledge of plants at the old road Naori's hill into biology teaching will give students academic stimuli and teachers an opportunity of retraining. With a combination of use of visual instruments, the purpose of conceptual and exploring biology is more easily achieved.

  • The quality of environmental education in school depends on the quality of environment teacher, who develops his/her ability through avalible courses such as in-service training and communication et al. This study was performed with the questionnaire to 179 teachers who participated in certificate in-service training for [Environment] subjects on winter of '95 and summer of '96. The questionnaire included 28 items, which could be categorized 5 parts : the environmental consciousness of teachers, their awareness of environmental education in schools, the reason of participation, the limits and requirements of learning field, avalible teaching and learning methods. The improvements and suggestions derived from this study are summarized as follows: First, it is necessary to differentiate in-service training concerning environment, because the motive of teacher's participation is diverse and is not always suitable to the purpose of certificate in-service training for [Environment] subjects. Second, the teaching contents and programs of certificate in-service training for [Environment] subjects have to be various according to the characteristics and major subjects of teachers. Third, it deserves special emphasis that the field trips and survey for the experiential study in field is supplemented in the teaching contents and programs of certificate in-service training for [Environment] subjects. Also, it is necessary to strengthen the environmental ethics and philosophy in the teaching contents and programs.

  • This study was analyzed in a phenomenological way to identify the depth of the experience from the perspective of students who participated in field trips and to understand in-depth the practical knowledge and meaning of the process. The subjects of the study were nine people with experience in field training for beauty college students, and they were in-depth stories from October to December 2020. The collected data were analyzed by Colaizzi method. The results of this study showed four essential topic vowels: "Expectation on Field Practice," "Necessity of Practical Education," "Difficulties Experienced in Field Practice," and "The Endurance of Field Practice." Based on the results of this study, the importance of being designed more systematically to enhance the effectiveness of learning experiences so that the effectiveness of learning experiences can be improved with confidence to cope with field practice.

  • In this study, a related literature study was conducted to diagnose the status of overseas field practice and overseas employment programs, and a questionnaire was constructed and analyzed according to the CIPP model, and policy suggestions to promote effective overseas advancement programs in the future are presented. As a major result, it was investigated that in order to increase the satisfaction level of participants, it is necessary to have strong willingness to participate and to clearly set the goal of the overseas field practice and overseas employment program. In addition, it was analyzed that a system that can guarantee continuous support, such as local business trips and maintenance of relationships with companies, should be established even after successful overseas field practice and overseas employment. This study presents implications that may be helpful in establishing overseas field practice and overseas employment program policies of the national government, university, and local governments by confirming the positive effects and problems of current overseas field practice and overseas employment programs.

  • South korea's education system recently expands discretion activity classes for raising self-leading learning ability based on autonomy and creativity, and also recommends students to perform diverse field trips in order to learn the contents which can be obtained only from field learning. However most schools come hard to go on a field trip because they face many difficulties such as lack of time, expense, weather, and safety. In this paper, in order to get over these difficulties we design a teaching model for field based learning activities using a virtual reality tool. And using the developed virtual reality tool, we taught 4th grade students of an elementary school located in Seoul. As a result, most of students were engaged and interested in the class and improved their academic achievement during one semester.

  • The purpose of this study was to compare the difference of semantic network about sedimentary environment between science gifted students and non-gifted students through field trip. The fifteen high school science gifted students and non-gifted students were participated in the field trip for this study. The geological field trip was performed in Chaseokgang, which suitable learning place for sedimentary environments. Data included field trip observation and students' inquiry activity reports. The inquiry activity reports were analyzed using the semantic network analysis method. The results of this study were as follows: First, the semantic network of science gifted students was larger and complex structures than that of the non-gifted students. Second, science gifted students were interpreted that changes of sedimentary environment was connected with the sorting and the roundness. On the other hand, semantic network of non-gifted students were become fragmented because they were not interpreted sedimentary environment related to scientific concepts.

  • The samples of 26 lichens were collected during two field trips to Ullung Island in May and October, 1995. From the samples collected, three species in two genera were identified; Graphis rikuziensis (Vain.) Nak., G. scripta (L.) Ach. and Pyrenula japonica Kurok. Among them, P. japonica was identified for the first time in Korea and is described here in detail.

  • This research proposes the composition logic of an Active Learning Environment (ALE), to enable discovery by learning through experience, whilst increasing knowledge about modern architectural heritage. Linking information to the historical heritage using Information and Communication Technology (ICT) helps to overcome the limits of previous learning methods, by providing rich learning resources on site. Existing field trips of cultural heritages are created to impart limited experience content from web resources, or receive content at a specific place through humanities Geographic Information System (GIS). Therefore, on the basis of the blended space theory, an augmented space experience method for overcoming these shortages was composed. An ALE space framework is proposed to enable discovery through learning in an expanded space. The operation of ALE space is needed to create full coordination, such as a Content Management System (CMS). It involves a relation network to provide knowledge to the rule engine of the CMS. The application is represented with the Deoksugung Palace Seokjojeon hall example, by describing a user experience scenario.

  • The lichenicolous fungi flora of South Korea is poorly known. During recent field trips to various parts of South Korea and after an extensive examination of herbarium lichen specimens, we encountered a lichenicolous fungi growing over a thallus of the lichen Ochrolechia yasudae Vain., characterized by small black apothecia with mostly three-septate brown ascospores. It was identified as Dactylospora glaucomarioides. This is the first report of this lichenicolous fungus from South Korea. A taxonomic description and comments are presented.
