유연빔의 충격응답에 대한 단순 피드포워드 능동제어 실험 및 성능분석 (Experiment of a Simple Feed-forward Active Control Method for the Shock Response of a Flexible Beam and Performance Analysis)

  • Active control method is applied to a flexible beam excited by a shock impulse in order to reduce the residual vibrations after the shock event. It is assumed that the shock input can be measured and is always occurred on the same point of the beam. If the system is well identified and the corresponding inverse system is designed reliably, it has shown that a very simple feed-forward active control method may be applied to suppress the residual vibrations without using error sensors and adaptive algorithm. Both numerical simulations and experimental results show a promising possibility of applying to a practical problem. Also, the performance of the method is examined by considering various practical aspects : shock duration, shock magnitude, and control point.

  • In this paper, we introduce the architecture of Genetic Algorithm(GA) based Feed-forward Polynomial Neural Networks(PNNs) and discuss a comprehensive design methodology. A conventional PNN consists of Polynomial Neurons, or nodes, located in several layers through a network growth process. In order to generate structurally optimized PNNs, a GA-based design procedure for each layer of the PNN leads to the selection of preferred nodes(PNs) with optimal parameters available within the PNN. To evaluate the performance of the GA-based PNN, experiments are done on a model by applying Medical Imaging System(MIS) data to a multi-variable software process. A comparative analysis shows that the proposed GA-based PNN is modeled with higher accuracy and more superb predictive capability than previously presented intelligent models.

  • Two major obstacles in the utilization of electrical vehicles are their price and range. The collaboration of direct torque control (DTC) with induction motor (IM) is preferred for its low cost, easy implementation, and parameter independency. However, in terms of edges, the method has drawbacks, such as variable switching frequency and undesired current harmonic distortion. These drawbacks result in acoustic noise, reduced efficiency, and electromagnetic interference. A feed-forward approach for stator-flux-oriented DTC with space vector pulse-width modulation is presented in in this paper. The outcome of the proposed method is low current harmonic distortion with fixed switching frequency while preserving the torque performance and simple application feature of basic DTC. The method is applicable to existing and forthcoming IM drive systems via software adaptation. The validity of the proposed method is confirmed by simulation and experimental results.

  • This paper focuses on the analysis and compensation of thrust ripples in permanent magnet linear synchronous motors (PMLSM). The main drawback in PMLSMs is the presence of thrust ripples, which are mainly due to the interaction between the permanent magnets and armature slotted core. These thrust ripples reduce the performance of the drive system in high precision applications especially at low speeds. This paper analyzes thrust ripples using the discrete wavelet transform. These undesired thrust ripples are compensated by using an adaptive feed forward controller. It is observed that this novel controller reduces about 65 percent of the thrust ripples. An extensive simulation is performed through MATLAB and it is validated through experimental results using a d-SPACE system with a DS1104 control board.

  • This study proposes a new islanding detection method that uses the phase shift of feed-forward voltage and evaluates the performance of an existing method and the proposed method when the grid frequency changes within the allowable range under steady-state conditions. The investigated existing method, which is slip mode frequency shift (SMS), uses current phase shift to detect islanding. The SMS method supplies reactive current to the grid under this condition, but the proposed method does not generate additional reactive power because it does not depend on the current control loop. The performance in steady-state grid condition is evaluated through simulations and experiments.

  • Keeping cooling water temperature higher within the allowable range helps marine engines to run in more efficient condition especially when the engine load is low. Temperature control of jacket cooling water in outlet side of main engine has been more widely adopted to ships these days for the purpose to reduce fuel consumption rate. But If the temperature sensor for the control loop is placed at the outlet of engine, it brings more difficulties in attaining stable and desirable properties due to dead times included in pipe length and engine itself comparing to the case where the measuring point is at the inlet side of main engine. In relation with this problem, Feed-forward control could be one of realistic solutions as it reveals good properties and requires less cost for system configuration. This study suggests a forward control system which leads to improved temperature control performances to disturbance signals which could arise from variation of engine load or weather condition. Two dead times in the modelling were described, considering pipe length between the actuator and the engine as well as the thermal process inside the engine. The results of analysis were shown by simulations to confirm responses under different conditions.

  • IMT-2000 서비스의 전송제한은 3GPP에 규정하고 있다. IS-95A 서비스보다 IMT-2000 서비스는 3배의 대역폭을 가짐으로 해서 Peak to Average가 높아졌고, 이 때문에 인접채널에 대한 영향을 줄이는 쪽으로 더 주위 깊게 설계하여야 하는 어려움이 발생하였다. 이러한 요소에 가장 민감하게 동작하는 모듈이 이동통신 시스템에 최종단에 위치하여 멀리까지 서비스를 가능케 하는 HPA(High Power Amplifier)이다. HPA는 Pl㏈ 근처에 동작시킴으로 인해 3차 5차 신호로 인해 인접채널에 영향을 미치며, 신호가 포화됨으로 인해 왜곡이 발생한다. 이에 HPA를 어떻게 선형화 시킬 수 있을 것이냐가 중요한 요소로써 작용하는데, 본 논문에서는 가장 복잡한 구조로 이루어져 있지만 선형화 방법에 있어 탁월한 개선 능력을 갖는 Feed-forward 방식을 설계 제작하였다. 본 논문은 Feed-forward의 1차 궤환부인 신호 제거 궤환부에서 얻어진 전류를 검출하여 알고리즘을 수행케 함으로써 환경변화에서도 무리 없이 동작하는 적응형 40Watt Feed-forward 선형화 증폭기가 되도록 하였다. 일반적인 RF 출력 신호를 검출하는 방식은 회로가 복잡하며, 합성기 출력에서 검출을 하기 때문에 신호검출의 정확성에서도 떨어지는 단점이 있다. 또한 선형화 증폭기의 최종 출력에서의 에러 신호를 감지하여 최적화시키는 알고리즘 역시 기존 방식인 Pilot 신호를 이용하지 않고 에러량 검출 방식을 적용하셔 W-CDMA용 선형화 증폭기가 되도록 하였다. 결과적으로 54㏈의 이득특성을 얻으면서 IW에서 40W 출력시까지 어느 동작에서도 30㎑ 대역폭 내에서 -26㏈m Max@3.515㎒ ACPR(Adjacent Channel Power Ratio) 특성, 48㏈c Max@±5㎒ ACLR (Adjacent Channel Leakage Power Ratio) 특성을 모두 만족하여 3GPP의 국제규격을 만족하는 선형화 증폭기가 되도록 하였다.

  • This paper deals with stability of active EMI filter. Feed-forward type voltage-sensing voltage-injection (VSVI) AEF is best topology when considering the filter size and leakage current. But it is not studied in stability. Therefore, the detailed and simplified transfer function is derived and it is used to analyze stability. The experimental results are provided to verify the effectiveness of the analysis.

  • A novel control strategy for the induction motor drive, based on the field acceleration method, is presented. The torque is controlled through variations of the stator flux angular velocity. The stator flux is controlled by using a feed forward control scheme, with the stator flux reference vector adjusted so as to obtain the fixed rotor flux amplitude.
