The goal of this study is to investigate the current conditions of apparels for the handicapped, identify the problems and recommend what are appropriate and functional apparels for the handicapped. The research method was to statistically process a survey on 200 handicapped by frequency analysis and cross tabulations. The study results are as follows. First, the degree of discomfort in daily activities was shown during toilet use and eating. Among clothes categories owned by the handicapped, most discomfort was felt in the order of everyday clothes, workout clothes, underwear, athletic shoes and working clothes. Second, children's clothing was most commonly preferred clothing style by handicap for the dwarfism. Comfortable clothes was preferred and relaxed, decent, and unique styles were preferred in the order. Soft feeling texture and absorbency was considered important as preferred clothing material. Third, sizes and designs were improvements wanted by the handicapped in apparel in the order. In addition, they wanted to wear apparel sensitive to the fashion just like the non-handicapped without showing the handicapped parts. There is a necessity for the government or municipalitiesto establish and run protected workplaces or independent workplaces for those who have studied apparel. The field is thought to require continuous and numerous follow-up studies such as researches on different physiques, standardization of apparel, segmentation of sizes and methods of producing custom apparel by function and handicap.

The purpose of this study was to identify characteristics and consumer attitude on purchasing apparel through Cable TV home-shopping. The questionnaire was administered to 4y5 May through September in 1996 and the data were analyzed by using frequency, factor analysis, crosstab, 1-test, ANOVA, MANOVA, scheffe with utilizing SPSS/PC+ The results of this study were as follows: 1. The most favorite media in purchasing apparel through home-shopping was Cable TV in all over ages except 50's. Women showed Cable TV the most interested, whereas men showed printed media and computer on-line shopping as home shopping media. 2. Home-shopping favor in region' was higher than that of Seoul. In the degree of favor, college students showed the highest, followed by part time employees, housewives and full time employees. Those who lived individual houses in other than Seoul area showed higher purchasing intention. 3. Sweater item was shown as the highest purchasing interested item and coat/business suit items were shown as lower among 10 different apparel items. 4. Five dimensions of Perceived benefits of apparel purchasing through Cable TV were derived by factor analysis such as variety of merchandise information, purchase convenience, efficiency, saving time, and convenience of physical inactivity. The convenience of physical inactivity showed the most important benefit through Cable TV home-shopping. Perceived risk of apparel purchasing through Cable TV was factor analyzed as merchandise related risk, size and appearance related risk, delivery related risk, TV watching related risk, and unplanned purchasing related risk. The sixte and appearance related risk was shown as the highest risk.

This study was intended to present basic materials for the direction of product planning and marketing strategy to increase the market share of men's underwear. For this purpose, it attempted to classify the groups according to the benefit of pursuing men's underwear and analyze the differences in purchase behavior among the segmented groups. The specific purposes of the study were to investigate the purchase behavior of men's underwear, to segment the consumers into groups according to underwear benefits sought, to investigate the differences in purchase behavior among the groups, and to investigate the differences in demographics among the groups. The questionnaire was distributed to men aged the 20s to the 40s living in Seoul. A total of 297 questionnaires were used for the final analysis. As a result, the following findings were obtained. It was found that 84.8% of the respondents showed there was no favorite underwear brand. They showed the favorite color of translucent color, the favorite style of trunk and brief, the favorite post-processing of silver nano, deo processing, and the favorite material of charcoal. In purchasing men's underwear, the respondents showed a preference for simple image, and the discount store as the place of purchase. The results also showed that there were four groups of underwear benefits sought: sex appeal/individuality, comfort, practicality, and fashion/brand groups. In regard to the group differences, there were significant differences in underwear purchase motives, underwear preferences, store selection criteria, and demographics.

The purpose of this study was 1) to find out Market segmentation possibilities according to consumer's store selection factors by analysis of Consumer's attitude and oriteria of apparel store selection, 2) to provide marketing strategies of segment marker for apparel stores Research problems were as follows. 1) To find out the important factors of consumer's store selection and to segment markets according to their factors. 2) To find out consumer characteristics (demographic variables, clothing life factors, cloth-ing purchase behaviors) according to segment markets. 3) To find out preference store types and preference factors according to segment markets. 4) To provide marketing mix strategy for retail apparel store sales. The subjects selected for the final analysis were 586 female college students, housewives, and workers living in Seoul. A questionnaire was developed in order to measure consumer's selection criteria of apparel store, consumer characteristics and preferred store types and preferential factors. The results of this study were as follows: 1. There were 8 factors of consumer's store selection such that: the high quality, convenience, store atmosphere, economy, dependency commercials, store patronage, the conformity, product assortment. the result of cluster analysis based on these 8 factors of store selection verified that market was able to be segmented as four different market, which were the store loyalty group, the aligned economical group, the assortment pursuing group, the store fame dependent group. 2. There were significant differences among four groups, for 4 variables related to consumer's characteristics such as demographic characteristics (sex, age, job, level of education, the living quarters, marrige or unmarrige), clothing life factors, clothing evaluating criteria, and favorite fashion information sources. 3. There were significant differences among four groups for 2 variable related to store preference such as preference types of store and preference factors of store.
The purposes of this study were to identify point makeup purchasing and using behavior according to the personal color awareness. Most women considered their favorite color first when purchasing lipsticks and skin color when purchasing cheek powder or foundation. They considered makeup concept first when applying lipsticks, eye shadows, and cheek powder but skin color applying foundations and manicures. Factors of personal color awareness were preferences & utilization awareness, other's advice, and direct awareness, and were segmented into PC intermediate group, high PC group, and PC retard group. PC intermediate group were in the late 20's and the early 30's, average incomes with high education, and patronized discount stores for point makeups, used fashion color as a criterion when selecting lipsticks, foundations, and manicures, apparel color when applying eye shadows, skin color when applying cheek creams, and preferred imported lipsticks and manicures. High PC group were among unmarried women in the early 20's, university students, high income households with medium level of pocket money, spent more for point makeup, and patronized department stores and internet shopping mall, used skin color or fashion color as criteria when selecting point makeup, referenced makeup concept when applying point makeup, preferred imported point makeup. PC retard group were among married women in the late 30's with low education and low income, spent less for point makeup and pocket money, and selected domestic point makeup, used their favorite color as a criterion when selecting point makeups and apparel color when applying lipsticks and cheek creams.
When parents and their children wear matching clothes, ranging from one item to the entire wardrobe, we call this the "family look." The purpose of this study was to identify the factors that influence family look clothes consumption. It was proposed that mothers' familism tendencies, playfulness, and demographic characteristics were the main factors that decided the extent of the purchase and usage of family look clothes. A survey was conducted between September 23 and 29, 2013 with mothers who have purchased and wore family look clothes. The age of the women ranged from 20s to 40s. The results showed that the number of family look items is influenced by mothers' familism tendencies and playfulness. Also the favorite family look style depended on the familism tendency, playfulness, and the age of the child(ren). The results of this study are expected to provide implications to apparel companies that produce family looks.

The experiment aimed at knowing the effect of physiology and psychology according to season on color preference. Two tests, one of the spring and the other of the autumn was conducted. Seventy subjects with normal color vision served as subjects. The subjects entered a bioclimatic chamber controlled at a temperature of $25\pm1^{\circ}C$, a relative humidity of $50\pm5\%$ and a light of 1000 1x. The subjects wearing white shirts and trousers sat quietly on a sofa for one our. Sensation from warm to cool colors might be possibly different individually Therefore, a subject asked to array 41 randomly placed cloth colors from very warm to very cool colors during rest quietly for one our. All subjects arrayed these cloth colors in the order from red through yellow and green to blue, which had the reproducibility. After rest, they were instructed to choose a single one out of 41 cloth colors, preferred by themselves, every 10min during one our 0-ring test were measured to red, yellow, white, blue, black, favorite color, and dislike color. Most subjects preferred warmer color in April than in December. Tympanic temperature was significantly lower in December than in April. Finger presser was significantly higher in like color than in dislike color but it was no significant differences between spring and autumn. The preferring the warm color in April toward summer when basal metabolic rate is decreased than in December toward winter when it is increased can explain that physiology reaction by load error between actual core temperature and set-point induces psychological reaction to pursue visual alliesthesia. Our present experiment revealed that the preferred color could be determined by the relationship between the internal temperature and its set point according to season. It should be emphasized that the alliesthesia was observed also in the realm of visual system.
The purposes of this study were to investigate, analyze, and consider the feature and practical situation of Apparel CAD education and distribution situation of CAD system so that CAD education can be effectively operated and managed in various kinds of relevant schools and universities. 32 colleges and universities that are performing CAD educational system are selected for the study. The author of the study has investigated and obtained the information through questionnaires to 32 professors who are in charge of CAD lectures and 301 students who are receiving CAD education. The result is as follows. 1. It showed that 62.5% of CAD educational systems have been practically introduced after 1995. Regarding the using system, YUKA occupies 46.9%, PAD 21.8%, and GERBER 18.8% and these three kinds of system have been chiefly supplied. 40.6% of them own only one system, 37.5% of them own 2~5 systems and 78% of them own less than 5 systems. 2. The most seriously pointed problems during the operation of CAD system were the lack of experimental materials and the frustration of manpower supply. Thus, the CAD education programs in schools and universities are practiced in inferior environments internally and externally. 3. Regarding the practical situation of CAD education, 28 among 32 schools and universities are performing CAD as one of the regular subjects for the curriculum. 4. Regarding satisfaction degree of the using system, professors showed higher satisfaction degree than students did. In conclusion, it showed that although the practical situations of CAD education in schools and universities have been changed and improved so much since 1995 owing to the increase of the positive recognition of the necessity of CAD, many students in the educational sites cannot study their favorite subjects related with CAD program with interest due to the lack of experimental facilities, the poor computer management systems, and the problems of manpower supply, etc.
The purpose of this study is to provide for the basic data useful to the effective production and marketing of the brassiere befitting adult women's body shapes and preferences, and thereby, help them improve their apparel life. For this purpose, 563 Korean adult women aged between 20-59 were sampled to survey their practices of purchasing the brassieres and positively identify the factors affecting the practices and thereupon, determine the correlations among them by age group. Data is processed by a computer(SAS) and analyzed by using frequency, percentage, $\chi^2$-test, ANOVA, Duncan-test. The main results of this study are as follows; 1. The adult women tend to use such mass media as TV, magazines, catalogues and DM to decide for themselves which brassiere befits them most, and to check the brand-name(78.8%) or the sizes(93.4%), but more than 90% of them purchase their brassieres without trying on them. 2. The places of purchasing on which adult women rely most for their brassiere are department stores(32.6%), agencies(26.1%) and discount or pension shops(25.4%), while more than 90% of the sample women often visit bargain sale shops. The average number of brassieres possessed by our adult women is 5.7, and an adult women buys 2.6 brassiere costing 10-30 thousand wons a year on average and consumes a brassiere for the period from 6 months to 2 years. 3. It had been disclosed that the brand favored most by adult women is Venus(56.2%), followed by Vivien (17.6%), Wacoal(6.8%), Amie(2.5%) and Body Guard(2.3%). The most influential factors for the popularity of brands are fitting condition(40.3%) and design(23.8%), which suggests that consumers appreciate functionality and aesthetics. The most important reference affecting our women's choice of brassiere is size(64.4%), followed by design and functionality. The brassiere style favored most by adult women is a wire-type 3/4 cup brassiere made of thin material with sewing lines, while the most favorite color is white. In all, it has been found through this study that adult women's practices of buying their brassieres differ by age group, which may well suggest that brassiere production need to take such age-wise practices into consideration in setting up their brassiere production and marketing strategies.
