Beacon을 활용한 선박 탑승자 위치확인 시스템의 구현 (Implementation of the Passenger Positioning Systems using Beacon)

  • 본 논문에서는 선박 내에서 Bluetooth 기반의 Beacon을 활용하여 탑승객 및 선원들의 위치를 추적하는 시스템에 대하여 제안하였다. 추적된 탑승객들의 위치는 선박 침몰과 같은 치명적인 위급상황 발생시 구조대가 효율적으로 신속하게 승객들을 구조하는 데 활용될 수 있으며, 수집된 데이터들은 사용자들의 동선 패턴을 파악하여 부가적으로 활용될 수 있다. 이 논문에서 제안된 시스템은, 선실마다 AP(Access Point)라고 불리는 MAC 데이터 수집 장치를 설치하고, 설치된 AP에서는 탑승자들에게 제공된 Tag의 정보를 검색하고 수집한다. Tag는 개인 정보 보호를 위하여 고유의 MAC Address만을 가지며, 별도의 사용자 정보는 수집하지 않는다. 모든 데이터 통신은 MAC Address만을 송 수신하도록 하여 익명성을 보장하였다.

네일 건(Nail Gun) 사고에 의한 경부 관통상 1례 (A Case Study of a Patient with Penetrating Neck Injuries caused by a Nail Gun)

  • Powered by compressed air, a nail gun is an essential alternative tool to a hammer on any construction site. This useful machine launches nails at high speed, automatically embedding them in a piece of wood in only a fraction of a second. In spite of its convenience, life-threatening and fatal nail gun injuries can occur when a nail gun is misused, such as in a suicide attempt, or when the operator has insufficient training because combustion nail guns are capable of firing projectiles at velocities higher than 150 m per second. Although injuries by nail guns are rarely reported, there have been reports of nail gun injuries to the head and the trachea in Korea. In the emergency room, the authors experienced a patient injured by an accidental shooting of a nail gun while working in construction. In that accident, a nail penetrated the patient's cervical vertebra through the left cheek. This report is aimed at studying medical treatment for patients with penetrating injuries caused by nail guns.

포트홀 감지 시스템을 이용한 보수재료량 산출 알고리즘 개발 (A Study on Algorithm for Materials Take-off Using Pothole Detection System)

  • 최근 집중호우, 잦은 강설, 급격한 기온차이 등 환경변화의 가속화에 따라 균열, 단차, 포트홀 등 다양한 형태의 도로 파손이 급증하고 있다. 이중 포트홀 관련 사고는 파손 특징상 대형사고를 유발하며 08년 기준 5년간 약 5배 이상 증가하였다. 매년 포트홀로 인한 인명피해, 차량파손 등 직 간접적인 피해가 증가함에 따라 보다 신속하고 효율적인 관리 대책이 필요하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 포트홀 규모, 면적과의 상관관계를 통해 체적 보정계수와 보수재료 물량산출 알고리즘을 제시하였다. 제시된 물량산출 알고리즘의 검증을 위해 수도권 지역 15개소의 포트홀을 측정한 결과 통상적으로 개소당 약 5~7 kg까지 발생하던 재료 잔량이 1~2 kg까지 감소하는 것으로 나타났다. 작업자의 주관적인 판단에 의존하여 시공하고 있는 실정에서 포트홀 체적 감지 자동화 통합시스템은 재료/자원 절감뿐 아니라 적정한 보수물량 산정을 통해 다짐상태 등 포장 품질향상에 기여할 수 있을 것이다.

  • 해상에서의 대형 유류유출 사고 발생으로 인한 유류오염은 해양 생태계에 치명적인 영향을 미치게 되극 최종적으로는 인간에게 심각한 위험을 초래하게 된다. 따라서 해안을 접한 많은 나라들은 방제기술 향상을 위한 많은 노력을 하고 있다. 미생물제제를 이용한 유류 제거는 몇몇 국가에서 2차적인 방제방법이나 다른 방제 방법의 대안으로 제한적으로 사용하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 향후 유류사고 발생시 적용을 위해 미생물제제의 분해 효과와 영향을 실험실 규모의 실험을 통해 찾아보았다. 본 논문에서 유출유에 대한 미생물제제의 효과와 효율은 단기적으로 실험실에서 행해진 실험의 결과이므로 실제와는 많은 차이가 있다는 것을 염두에 두고 차후에는 장기적인 현장실험을 통한 미생물 제제를 이용한 유출유의 방제 가능성을 찾아보아야 할 것이다.

Surprising Incentive: An Instrument for Promoting Safety Performance of Construction Employees

  • Background: In comparison with other industries, the construction industry still has a higher rate of fatal injuries, and thus, there is a need to apply new and innovative approaches for preventing accidents and promoting safe conditions at construction sites. Methods: In this study, the effectiveness of a new incentive system-the surprising incentive system-was assessed. One year after the implementation of this new incentive system, behavioral changes of employees with respect to seven types of activities were observed. Results: The results of this study showed that there is a significant relationship between the new incentive system and the safety performance of frontline employees. The new incentive system had a greater positive impact in the first 6 months since its implementation. In the long term, however, safety performance experienced a gradual reduction. Based on previous studies, all activities selected in this study are important indicators of the safety conditions at workplaces. However, there is a need for a comprehensive and simple-to-apply tool for assessing frontline employees' safety performance. Shortening the intervals between incentives is more effective in promoting safety performance. Conclusion: The results of this study proved that the surprising incentive would improve the employees' safety performance just in the short term because the surprising value of the incentives dwindle over time. For this reason and to maintain the surprising value of the incentive system, the amount and types of incentives need to be evaluated and modified annually or biannually.

Poisson분포를 이용한 도시가스 화재 폭발사고의 발생 예측프로그램 및 사회적 위험기준에 관한 연구 (Study on Predictable Program of Fire.Explosion Accident Using Poisson Distribution Function & Societal Risk Criteria in City Gas)

  • 가스로 인한 화재 및 폭발사고의 예측 가능한 프로그램을 구체화하고, 적절한 사회적 위험기준을 제시하기 위하여 최근 11년간의 가스사고 데이터베이스를 분석하였다. 먼저 동일유형의 가스사고 발생가능 성을 판단할 수 있는 Poisson 분석 방법을 적용하기 위해 3개의 사고유형, 즉 누출, 폭발, 화재로 구분하여 총 16개 항목으로 나누어서 적용하였다. 그 결과, 시공 작업 부주의-폭발-배관의 항목의 사고발생반도가 가장 작았으며, 배관연결부이완부식-누출-배관의 경우는 가장 높은 빈도를 나타내었다. 따라서 이에 대한 적절한 가스사고 대응책이 마련되어야 할 것이다. 또한 치명적인 가스사고의 추세와 합리적인 위험정책에 대한 지침을 결정하기위해 D. O. Hagon 방정식과 회기직선식을 이용하여 F.N 곡선의 누적사망자의 최소 및 최대점에 대응시켜 허용가능영역을 설정하였다. 향후 가스사고에 대한 신뢰성 있는 분석을 위해서는 가스로 인한 화재 폭발사고에 대한 데이터베이스를 지속적으로 확충보완을 시켜야 되며, 이를 위한 표준 코드화 작업이 요구된다.

미끄럼방지 노인화에 대한 생체역학적 분석 (Biomechanical Analysis of the Non-slip Shoes for Older People)

  • Fall is very fatal accident causes death to older people. Shoe may affect to fall. Shoe influences risk of slips, trips, and falls by altering somatosensory feedback to the foot. The purpose of this study was to investigate the analysis of non-slip shoes for older people and influence on older people's lower extremity. For this study twenty three healthy older people were recruited. Each subjects walked over slippery surfaces (COF 0.08). Four pairs of non-slip shoes (shoe A had the greatest COF, 0.23 while shoe B, C, and D had smaller COF relatively) for older people were selected and tested mechanical and biomechanical experiment. For data collection motion capture and ground reaction forces were synchronized. There were statistically significant differences for slip-displacement, coefficient of friction, braking force, propulsion force, knee range of motion and knee joint stiffness by shoes. It was concluded that shoe A was the best for non-slip function because of the lowest slip displacement, the highest braking and propulsion forces, and the highest mechanical and biomechanical coefficient of friction where as shoe B, C, D were identified as a negative effect on the knee joint than shoe A. To prevent fall and slip, older people have to take a appropriate non-slip shoes such as shoe A.

초기·중기·후기 고령운전자의 사망자 발생위험도 분석과 시사점 (Study on Fatality Risk of Senior Driver with Aging Classification)

  • A traffic fatality by young people marked average annual decrease of 4.5% since 2011. Meanwhile, a traffic fatality by senior over 65 years old marked average annual increase of 7.9% for the last five years which means that the annual increase of traffic fatality by senior will be a serious problem. This study started questioning that senior drivers over 65 years old did not retain the same causal factor of fatal traffic accidents and thus extensively analyzed a risk of it by age group quantitatively, dividing the senior driver group into the early, middle and latter stages. Depending on the aging level, the risk of traffic fatality showed a wide difference in seven different types of traffic accidents generally, and happened to increase with latter and middle parts of the senior driver more than the early part. Therefore, this study proposes four policy suggestions: 1) The senior driver need to be offered customized driving educations and the improvement of road environment is also recommended. 2) Political assistance is needed to support and guide a safety related technology installation for the new or existing car. 3) Renewal of driving license and an aptitude test(physical examination, cognitive test) for drivers over 75 years old should take in a less than 3 years and an additional road test is needed as occasion demands. 4) Like the United States and Europe, development and extension of customized treatment guidebook for medical teams who examine senior drivers is needed and establishment of education and administration system that a supervisor of driving license renewal can impose safety restriction and American anonymity reporting system is considered to institutionalize in the medium to longer term.

A Case of Traumatic Bilateral Adrenal Hemorrhage Mimicking Bilateral Adrenal Adenomas

  • Adrenal hemorrhages caused by blunt abdominal trauma have been frequently reported, and most of the lesions are unilateral. In contrast, bilateral hemorrhage of the adrenal glands after trauma rarely occurs in subjects with predisposing conditions such as coagulopathy, thromboembolism, and sepsis. Furthermore, bilateral hemorrhage of the adrenal glands is potentially fatal by inducing acute adrenal insufficiency. Here,a case of a 40-year-old man who developed traumatic bilateral adrenal hemorrhage after a car accident, without any predisposing condition, is reported. The spontaneous shrinkage of the bilateral lesions revealed in the follow-up abdominal computed tomography (CT) scansupported the aforementioned diagnosis. Fortunately, the patient had no clinical or biochemical evidence suggesting acute adrenal insufficiency. To these authors' knowledge, this is the first South Korean report of traumatic bilateral adrenal hemorrhage in a subject with no predisposing factors.

피부 찰과상을 통한 파라쿼트 중독에 의한 사망 1례 (The Fatal Paraquat Poisoning Through Skin Abrasion -Case Report-)

  • Paraquat, is a widely used for its great effect as a herbicide. But the mortality rate by paraquat intoxication is known to be very high. It is thought to act by changing form to superoxide and peroxide free radical. Almost paraquat intoxication is through ingestion. A few intoxication of paraquat is through skin absorption. But there was no known death case through skin absorption. We experienced a case of a expired patient by paraquat intoxication through skin abrasion and scratching wound. A 75-year-old man was visited emergency room after motorcycle accident during transporting paraquat. He has multiple abrasion and scratching wound on extremities, and pelvic bone fracture. There was no evidence of ingestion of paraquat. But serum/urine gramoxone level was all positive. In spite of wound irrigation and hemoperfusion, his condition was been gone form bed to worse. 2 days after, multiple organ failure and the respiratory arrest were developed and he was expired. Paraquat intoxication through skin wound is extremely dangerous and death by that could possibly happen
