In this study, 70 national brands among men's wear brands were selected to examine linguistic characteristics of domestic national men's wear brand names. Linguistic factors which were used in national men's wear brand names were analyzed to understand their characteristics. Formative and semantic characteristics of each brand name were analyzed on the basis of the results from previous studies. It was found that long words with over four syllables are preferred than short words and single words in the form of noun are frequently used for domestic national men's wear brand names in terms of linguistic formality. English is most widely used in brand names, and European languages such as French, Spanish, and Italian are also used frequently under the influence of the country of origin. Next, the analysis result on the semantic characteristics of domestic national men's wear brand names showed that descriptive brand names are used to convey brand information directly and easily, or freestanding brand names which are absolutely irrelevant and newly coined words are chosen to create a characteristic image. In other words, brand names represent detailed business and product category of men's wear by forming a brand image of men's wear (ex. Man, Homme, Zio), and provide the information about properties and benefits related to the product such as dignity, masterpiece, and luxurious lifestyle to consumers by presenting the concept of the brand.

The economy blocking and price competitiveness caused by globalization has generated an on-going controversy of global sourcing among high-priced luxury brands. The consumers in the global market purchase luxury goods based on both craftsmanship and the reputation of luxury brands. Factors such as the origin, brand and pricing can affect the intention of consumers to buy luxury goods. This study analyzed the optimum brand combination using conjoint analysis. The analysis was based on the selection of origin, brand name and price as extrinsic factors among attributes of customer choice. These factors were subdivided into Italian and Chinese origins, Gucci, Prada, and Miu Miu in terms of brand names, and 450,000, 750,000, and 1,500,000 Won in terms of price levels. The result showed that origin was considered the most important factor followed by brand name and pricing. This tendency tells us that customers consider origin, brand name and price in that order when purchasing luxury brands. In regards to each factor, respondents preferred Italian to Chinese origins, the Gucci to Miu Miu brand name, and 750,000 to 450,000 won for price level. Generally, women in their 20s and 30s preferred products from advanced nations at a medium-level price.
This paper is an exploratory study about perceived risks related to career women's fashion lifestyles in case of catalogue shopping. Three research questions are proposed: 1. The first is to examine the types of career women's fashion lifestyles. 2. The second is to find out the kinds of perceived risks when career women purchase fashion apparels through catalogues. 3. The third is to investigate the relationships between fashion lifestyles and perceived risks. The empirical results were as follows. First, career women's fashion lifestyles were distinctively divided into the fashion-oriented group, the casual preference group, and the brand-name preference group. Second, seven unique perceived risks such as socio-psychological perceived risks, product assortment perceived risks, quality/function perceived risks, customer services & conveniences perceive risks, economic perceived risks, and order waiting-time perceived risks were manifested when career women purchase fashion apparels using catalogues. Finally, significant differences in socio-psychological perceived risks, product assortment perceived risks, and quality/function perceived risks were shown among fashion lifestyle clusters. However, the others were not.
This thesis researches consumers' behaviors in Purchasing avatar fashion products depending on their motives and point of reference as the avatar fashion marketing is conducted. Also, it explores the correlation between avatar's fashion products and the point of reference by which consumers actually purchase casual wear. The results were as follows: First, Avatar's fashion product purchasing motivation is done through four classified dimensions, conformity, differentiation, fashionability, and substitution. The standard of Avatar's fashion product choice was classified by the symbol (Product name recognition) and two dimensions of aesthetics. Second. the more valued the aesthetic component of Avatar's fashion product the greater effect on the order the dimensions used in correlation in this case being substitution, differentiation, conformity, and fashionability. Should the consumer place greater value on the Product symbol the dimension order is affected in order by fashionability, conformity, and differentiation. Third, fashionability was a stronger consideration for women as opposed to men in terms of demographical feature. whereas symbol (Product recognition) was of greater importance to higher income people. Last, when aesthetics is considered to buy Avatar's fashion products it is favorably comparable to other casual wear lines. In other words, symbol is considered to buy casual's, it brings to the same result when buying Avatar's. Avatar's fashion product was great tool to research new casual wear line because of approving by the correlation to each other.
The purpose of this study was 1) to find out the consumer patronage mix of department and fashion outlet stores, 2) to compare the clothing and price attitudes among store patronage groups and 3) to compare the importance of the stores' attributes among the store patronage groups. The subjects were 381 female consumers in the Seoul and Gyeonggi areas. Questionnaires were used to collect the data. The data was analyzed by frequency, factor analysis, ANOVA, Duncan's Multiple Range Test and Cronbach's Alpha. The results were as follows. First, clothing purchasing attitudes of the total respondents were classified by three factors: fashion/confident oriented, appearance oriented, and brand-name oriented. Also, clothing price attitudes were composed of three factors: price/quality-prestige inference, discount/low price pursuit and benefit/value pursuit. In addition, the importance of the store's attributes was composed of five factors: convenience/service, concern of fashion outlet store, brand-name/fashionability, awareness of fashion outlet store, and practical advantage of the store. Second, the department store patronage group was significantly different from the fashion outlet store patronage group in clothing attitude, price attitude, and the importance of the store attribute. Third, the responses of the department store patronage group were significantly different from those of the fashion outlet store patronage group in product reliability and awareness of the fashion outlet store.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the various expressions in fashion design using logo. For this study, fashion magazines such as Vogue, Elle, WWD, Hi Fashion, Mode et Mode, Fashion News, Collezioni were analyzed. A corporate identity consists of the logo and name owned by a company together with the rules and guidance on how these are to be used, for example in printed material such as letterheads, catalogues and reports, in advertising, marketing and promotion, and on produsts and services. Logos provide the bedrock for the development of corporate identities, for the evolution of commercial brands, and for the nurturing of corporate culture. Logo is a primary means of communicating corporate values to customers and designers. It represents an asset of incalculable value, because it has been consistently maintained and protected over the years. The logo is the cornerstone of the company‘s image and the style of a logo or products name must harmonize with the feeling of the product or brand image. Fashion designers today are using their logos in different forms of communication. It is common to see a brand’s logo proudly emblazoned the classic chic garments as well as accessories such as bags, shoes, caps. The consumer, then becomes a ‘walking ad’ for the brand.
This study aims to identify the special features of high-concept funology observed in fashion products and expressional media by exploring funology in an era of high-concept, the emotional paradigm of the 21st century. High-concept funology in today's fashion can be explained as follows: First, 'virtual reality', which is often seen in fashion shows and fashion commercials, enhances consumer participation and involvement with blurred boundaries between the real world and the virtual world. With the expansion of various forms of real-time communication with consumers, positive images of the brand are being projected to the consumers. Second, 'form transformability', which is often found in fashion products, promotes customers' purchase desire as they are able to present themselves in a more versatile way in the fashion product that is changeable in various designs. Third, 'integration of different fields', which is easily found in various fashion goods, engages consumers in a mutual interaction under an entertaining setting with the product that is made to satisfy their needs attuned to their digital lifestyle. Fourth, 'interactive responsiveness', which is mainly recognized in fashion stores and commercials, is characterized by its interactive playfulness that encourages consumer participation through entertainment contents and promotes brand intimacy, eventually adding more value to its name.

The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of brand-related and corporate-realted knowledge on brand-name extension and corporate-name extension, respectively in fashion market. Here, it is designed into three types of brand and corporate awareness; 1) Higher brand awareness and corporate awareness, 2) higher brand awareness and lower corporate awareness, and 3) lower brand awareness and higher corporate awareness. For this study, questionnaires were administered to 700 single women in twenties. The questionnaires were designed to measure evaluations of brand-name extension and corporate-name extension and brand-related and corporate-related knowledge in terms of familiarity, use experience, self-assessed knowledge, evaluation of attributes and attitude. Employing a sample of 621 women, data were analyzed by Multi-Regression analysis. Major findings of this study are summarized as follows; 1) In level of higher brand and corporate awareness, the evaluations of brand-name extension were influenced by corporate-related knowledge such as brand use experience, evaluation of brand attributes and brand attitude. Also, the evaluations of corporate-name extension were influenced by both brand-related knowledge such as brand attitude and corporate-related knowledge such as use experience of product awareness and lower corporate awareness, brand-related knowledge such as evaluation of brand attributes and brand attitude was identified as the important factor in the evaluations of brand-name extension. 3) In level of lower brand awareness and higher corporate awareness, corporate-related knowledge such as attitude toward corporate was identified as the important factor in the evaluations of corporate-name extension.

Green Marketing, a response to the serious environment problems of the 21st century, is an important point for trends in both art and fashion. It is a strategy for reminding consumers of the threatening environment problems and to recognize that everyone must take responsibility for these problems. Green marketing is a concept that is the point at issue and social reform movement. The purpose of this study was to find examples of Green Marketing in fashion and classify them into four groups. The results of this study were as follows. First, the terms related to green marketing as related to fashion can be categorized into four areas: 1. Eco-friendly product marketing: product merchandising that usually uses organic materials and green manufacturing processes. 2. Green-communication marketing: PR strategies that use green slogans through deep impression advertising or special promotional events relating reducing, reusing and recycling, etc., with the brand's name. 3. Green environmental-marketing: marketing strategies that is an enlightenment campaign for environmental preservation and sustainable fashion design such as reusing, recycling, and reducing. 4. Cause-related marketing: marketing plans that return profits to society and that take an active part in the causes of the community. It was expected that these types of green marketing strategies would yield positive effects in enhancing brand value and consumer confidence as well as increasing profits.
The purpose of this study was to classify consumption value and analyze the relationship between consumption value typology and fashion product purchasing behavior of college students as consumers. Data were gathered by surveying college students living in Daegu and Kyungbook area using convenient sampling, and 513 questionnaires were used in the statistical analysis. Data were analyzed by frequency, factor analysis, cluster analysis, ANOVA, Duncan-test, Chi-square, and t-test. The findings are as follows. According to the consumption value typologies of college students were classified into three groups such as Social Value oriented, Functional Value oriented, and Differentiated Individuality oriented group. The Social Value oriented group and the Differentiated Individuality oriented group were more conscious of clothing pursuit propensities behavior such as brand, shopping place, and price than Functional Value oriented group. The Functional Value oriented group showed the lowest interest in brand name. Purchasing behavior of casual wear and bags fashion product had the significant effects on the shopping place, and price.
