Despite efforts to apply 3D print (3DP) technology in the field of fashion and endless discussions about the possibility of future development, in reality, it is difficult to utilize 3DP technology in fashion for reasons related to material, technology, and cost constraints. The purpose of this study was to supplement the limitations of 3DP technology in order to promote its utilization in fashion and simultaneously find a solution to achieve aesthetic satisfaction in the design method. Specifically, through the development of fashion products with a 3DP polymer-fabric structure to which the parametric design methodology has been applied, this study explored the possibility of practical application and proposes a new 3DP fashion design method. The 3DP polymer-fabric developed as a result of the research was stably adhered to the fabric. Additionally, the study confirmed the possibility of making 3DP clothes that are amenable to the wearer's activities, as it was verified that cutting and sewing tailored to the human body's curvature and structure can be performed. The design process using the 3DP polymer-fabric presented in this study is meaningful in that it suggests a solution to complement the limitations of modern technology in connection with designers' creativity. Moreover, the design process presented in this study is expected to contribute to the commercialization and generalization of 3DP by providing practical help to allow fashion experts to utilize 3DP technology.
National Competency Standards(NCS) is to systemize the competency that is necessary for performing duties in industrial fields and to utilize synthetically duty, vocational education training, and qualification at the national level. The purpose of this study is to analyze the process of NCS development and verification, which systemizes competency units and competency unit elements through the analysis of duty in pattern field. It is to cultivate competent people to be able to promote the development of pattern industry ultimately through being a complementary to educational circles and industry then to give them practical knowledge that is demanded in the field. Furthermore, it is to be utilized as a fundamental data for reforming the system of duty competency evaluation so as to manage personnel career systematically and to improve their competency. Focus Group Interview(FGI) was adapted as the method of this study, which was proceeded 3 times, and validity of the drawn result is verified through expert questionnaire survey. Research result, which is competency units, is 10 as follows; Fit trend analysis, Analysis of sample garment Specification sheet, Pattern making for sample garment, Pattern making for manufacturing garment, Creation of sewing specification, Instruction of manufacturing technique, Sample garment Inspection for quality control, Grading, Calculation of the required material quantities, Quality control.
In this study, in-depth interviews with Hanbok experts on the development direction of the Hanbok culture industry were performed to listen to professional and future-oriented opinions for the development of Hanbok culture and the Hanbok industry. Interviews were conducted with 12 experts to identify the perception of the Hanbok culture industry and to confirm the possibility of sustainable development of Hanbok as a global culture. First, the results of this study should be preceded by the establishment of concepts such as traditional Hanbok, daily Hanbok, fusion Hanbok, and new Hanbok, and design, education, and government support suitable for each field are required. Second, the responsible craftsmanship of the Hanbok industry, the development of Hanbok design with the aesthetics and convenience of Hanbok designers, multi-dimensional research with high academic use, and systematic support for various Hanbok-related programs and events by the government are needed. Third, the government should promote and actively wear Hanbok through various media to revitalize the Hanbok culture, such as establishing a Hanbok wearing day, reviving etiquette education in school, and providing local-based Hanbok wearing experience education. Fourth, in order to cultivate professional manpower, detailed Hanbok education by field is necessary, and specialized education tools, such as distribution, VMD, and stylist are proposed.
In the rapidly advancing modern world, Fashion Illustrations are being utilized in various aspects of art and industrial works. Fashion illustrations are especially useful in fields like trend books thats show advanced trends where photographs are difficult to be utilized due to the fact the real object does not exist. Both the academic and industrial worlds have realized the importance of Fashion illustration and have started to study the field as a way of expressing the general image of a costume rather than a diagram for making clothes. The focus of this study is on Fashion illustrations using Photo Montages that express modern fashion using various and unique textures. The study is composed of a literature review on Fashion illustration and Photo Montages. and five work pieces are made focusing on expressing compounded images.

As the online industry is vitalized by the fashion market, there is a tendency to believe that the recruitment of manpower in the online distribution field is increasing. Thus, this study attempts to analyze the job types and job functions for recruitment in the fashion industry based on job search sites and based on this, suggest an educational direction within the department of fashion design. First, when examining the size (number of employees) of fashion companies that posted jobs, the fashion companies with 30 or fewer employees accounted for 60.7% of the postings, and the location of the fashion companies was most commonly in Seoul with 144 companies located in Gangnam (Seocho-gu, Gangnam-gu). As for the recruitment conditions of the fashion companies, "academic level-irrelevant" was the highest with 42.6%, and in terms of gender and age, 59.3% of the cases were marked as "gender and/or age-irrelevant". Examining the types of jobs for recruitment in the fashion industry, fashion designers were the most popular at 52.6%, followed by on and off-line companies' MD, VMD, and stylist in that order. In the results of examining job function change, it is thought that the fashion design department should have basic educationon in that respect.
The purpose of this study is to offer the basic data regarding the career development supporting system of senior fashion students. This study investigated contents of required vocational information and vocational information seeking behavior of senior fashion students. And this study also intended to analyse vocational choice anxiety factors and its relationship with level of vocational information requirement. The subjects of this study consisted 261 senior fashion students at eleven universities in the nation. The results of the study are as follows. First, five dimensions of required vocational information of fashion students were identified by factor analysis; information related to judgement of eligibility to apply for the job & company, information of work environment, information of fashion company that has the potential to hire them, information of level of compensation, stability of employment and promotion, and information of kind of job & job roles in the fashion field. Second, the senior fashion students faced few obstacles obtaining vocational information such as insufficient online vocational information, difficulties in discovering the sources of vocational information and time restriction for job search & career indecision. Third, the fashion students perceived diverse anxieties about making vocational choices. The survey identified five categories of the anxieties; anxiety about adapting to new job environment & recruiting process of the fashion company, anxiety about too heavy workload, anxiety about stability of employment & level of compensation, anxiety about lack confidence of their ability to do the job and anxiety about ability in English & the qualification for application. And there was significant relationship between vocational choice anxiety and requirement level of vocational information. This result proved providing vocational information relieves anxiety about getting a job.
Various types of industry, from manufacturing industry to service industry, can be a subject of exhibition. So, subdivided studies about exhibition for each type of industry or field are necessary. However, there are still insufficient studies about them. Also, fashion industry related exhibitions should be classified differently from other industries' exhibitions because of their special features. Therefore, this study examines that how an exhibition is utilized as a promotion means of a company and the present condition of a fashion exhibition. It also compares a fashion exhibition with other industrial exhibitions to suggest the effective operations and the progressive promotion of the fashion exhibition. This study uses questionnaire from 140 companies for 5 exhibitions, which participated fashion related exhibitions. Data of this study is statistically analyzed using SPSS for window ver. 10.0 program. It also uses frequency, cross tabs, paired t-test, Independent Samples t-test. As a result of this study, fashion related companies' recognition of exhibitions has been increased. However; in terms of exhibition participation, attitudes such as pre-promotion or pre-education for the staff, who are in charge of the exhibition booths, and the outcome of the exhibition aren't maximized because the right understanding concerning exhibitions is lacking and long-term preparation is insufficient. Also, advertisement for the exhibitions isn't enough because of insufficient preparation and absence of pre-promotion, so consultation with promising buyers can't be activated. Even though there are consultations, the consultations don't have much effect.
This study aims to gain a deeper understanding of the fashion styles of underground rappers in China and South Korea. Due to rappers' fashion influence on modern fashion trends, research on rapper fashion has been conducted steadily in the field of apparel. Qualitative research methodologies including literature research and in-depth interviews were the primary techniques used to solve the research questions. In-depth interviews were conducted with 10 Chinese underground rappers and 10 Korean underground rappers to reveal and explore their fashion style and view of fashion. As a result, the participants' fashion styles were categorized into four styles: authentic hip-hop fashion style, popularized hip-hop fashion style, easy sports casual style, and trendy street style. Rappers from both countries consider that their identity as rappers can be demonstrated through their hip-hop fashion style. The influence of hip-hop culture and the popularity of rap music differs between China and Korea. It affects not only the rapper's musical characteristics, but also their fashion style. While Korean underground rappers' fashions style is trendier, Chinese underground rappers' fashions style displays stronger characteristics of hip-hop fashion. Due to the public's negative view of rappers, some Korean underground rappers intentionally try to hide their identity by wearing a fashion style that differs from the authentic rapper image. Understanding the fashion styles of underground rappers in Korea and China is expected to assist in predicting future hip-hop culture and rapper fashion trends.
This study, which focuses on a masquerade, starts from the concept that all men exist as visual objects as well as visual subjects before discussing an issue of sexuality to inquire into masquerade characteristics of fashion photography. Masquerade is a concept that can describe various and multidimensional attributes of humans in social norms prescribed separately for men and women till now, and the concept has not yet been introduced in the field of fashion. However, it is considered a measure to analyze contemporary expressions of sexuality, on which a need for this research is raised. This study looks into the basic concept of the object and the ego through a psychoanalysis-related literature review. This study, then inquires into Jacques Lacan's notion of gaze and Roger Caillois's theory of mimicry through related specialty publications. This study reinterprets the concept of masquerade from Lacan's perspective and carries out an empirical analysis of masquerade characteristics in contemporary fashion photography based on the result drawn in parallel. Sexual masquerade shown in fashion photography based on the concept of masquerade is as follows: first, it appears as normative sexual description, divided into male and female by social norms; second, sexual ambiguity, obscuring the distinction between the sexes through playful and bombastic forms; and lastly, sexual subversion, disguising as the opposite sex through putting on clothes of the opposite sex.
The fashion industry has distinctive characteristics. It is important to understand the specific working environment and unique problems at fashion corporations in order enhance employee efficiency. However, studies on job stress for fashion employees remain limited. This study used qualitative research to examine major job stress factors for fashion company workers. In-depth interviews were conducted on 6 respondents who work in various departments at fashion manufacturing companies. We identified task-related factors and structural factors as the two major job stress factors. Task-related factors consisted of 4 elements (necessity of massive knowledge, overtime outside work, tight schedules, and organizational tasks); structural factors consisted of 3 elements (burden of sales outcome, formal relationships, and anxiety of salary retirement). The results indicated that respondents consistently tried to gain knowledge about the latest trends and field experiences that caused mental and physical exhaustion due to the necessity of working late. Designers and workers in the sales department were constantly evaluated by their sales results compared to other workers that caused high levels of stress. Respondents answered that building relationships was an important factor in the fashion industry and sometimes felt that building formal relationships was more important than the ability to do work.
