The purpose of this study was to find out effects of textile motifs and the application methods on wearer's image perception. A survey was conducted to total of 255 male and female university students who are residing in Daejeon and Chungnam province. The stimuli were composed of 2 level tones(dark and light), 3 level complexity(simple, medial and complex), 3 patterns(polka dot, stripe and check) and the 2 way of stimuli application methods(fabric and garment). The instrument for measuring preference of stimuli consisted of 4 items, encouraging, preference, purchasing and popularity. The instrument for measuring image of stimuli consisted 24 pair items. Factor analysis for the adjective pair images(24 inquiries) about the textile patterns which were used in this study was performed. It resulted as three factors which are attraction, salience, and potential. Attraction, salience, and potency dimensions showed the most significant interaction effects of application methods and patterns. And tone and application method effected attraction and salience, tones and patterns effected attraction, tones and complex effected salience. Application methods and patterns effected potential and patterns and complex effected salience. The preferences toward stimuli, it resulted only interaction of tones and patterns affected the preferences('total preference' and 'purchasing'). Pearson's product-moment correlation analysis carried out to find out the relation of images of clothing and preferences. As a result, salience was significant relation with attraction and potency. In correlation between image of textile pattern and preference, attraction is most significant relation with the preference. The results of the study could be used for the marketing strategies of the motif in fashion product.
The purpose of this research is to study the cause of obstruction in various knit pattern structures by understanding the needs of the customers, and to develop knitted fabric goods that satisfy the individual taste of consumers and that reflecting the latest fashions. Actual conditions of the manufacturer's designing processes must be examined. In addition, a comparison analysis of fashion sensibilities and preferences between producers and consumers had been made in order to study developing knit pattern structures. Questionnaires and interviews had been used as research methods. The research involved two groups: one group consisted of 57 producers, which included designers, programmers, and merchandisers working for a knit manufacturer in Seoul, while the other group consisted of 74 consumers, which included students with knitted fabric design as their major and those who have working knowledge of knitted fabrics. For a more accurate evaluation, 28 out of 150 patterns have been selected through a preliminary study conducted by 24 designers. On the 28 knit patterns, a sensibility evaluation had been made through the use of the sense of sight and sense of touch, which was followed by a frequency analysis, cluster analysis, and t-test using SPSS 12.0. The results are as follows: the fashion sensibility evaluation on knit patterns showed that structures, such as racking II or lace II, are typically elegant ('elegance'), while structures, such as links I or racking I, are typically 'active.' Furthermore, a 'country' image was displayed in structures such as cable I, cable II, and miss II. Links I appeared as 'sophisticated'. Miss I and milano were said to have 'modem' images. Lace II was regarded as 'ethnic', while racking II was said to have a 'romantic' image. 2:1 rib and milano were generally thought to be manly ('manish'). The fashion sensibility scale for each knit pattern has been made based on the above results. Based on producer and consumer responses, the sensibility evaluation on knit pattern structures showed that the two groups had similar preferences in knit pattern structures. Therefore, the fashion sensibility scale developed in this study can be used as a basic data for structure development when designing knitted fabric goods.
Today, the uniform is perceived being important, because it transmits the unique company image through visualization of images, improves efficiency of work, and increases the feeling of belonging. Therefore, the purpose of this project was to make the winter uniform for the personnel in the manufacturing and the business departments of Korea Tobacco and Ginseng Corporation. The functional, aesthetic, and symbolic aspects were fully considered throughout the design process for the new uniform. To reflect the worker's opinions, the questionnaire method was used. The questionnaire was made up of the questions about the evaluation criteria and design preference for uniform. The result of the survey was reflected on the uniform design. The uniform consists of a jumper and a pair of pants. The jumper for manufacturing workers has two patched pockets with gussets. It has a convertible collar and a horizontal tuck on front panel. It has an open fastener on the front and a flap to cover the fastener. It has two types of pockets inside for functional reason. The welt one is for a wallet and the small one is for a pen. For the material, melanges with two tones of gray color was used, so it gave the sophisticated look on the uniform. The jumper for business workers also has a convertible collar and inside pockets. It has two slant slash pockets with welt. In addition, it has an attachable fur collar which gives thermal protection and aesthetic effect. The fabric has small check pattern and was made of wool. The pants are a basic trouser style with two pleats on the front.

The subjects were 719 university students in Daejeon and Chungnam province, and the measuring instruments were 12 stimuli manipulated by the combination of chromatic and achromatic colors, and self-administrated questionnaires consisted of general color preference, emotional images, preference, and purchasing intention items of the knitwear cultural goods, and subjects' demographics attributions. The data were analyzed by Cronbach's ${\alpha}$, factor analysis, t test, ${\chi}^2$ test, ANOVA and Duncan's multiple range test, using SPSS program. The results were as follows. University students highly preferred black and gray color and deep tone on knitwear items, while they generally preferred blue and black color, and deep and pastel tone. The chromatic color combination was perceived as warm and conspicuous, but unattractive image. The achromatic color combination was perceived as cold and ordinary, but attractive image. Among the combination of chromatic and achromatic colors, gray & blue combination was perceived as more attractive image than red & dark gray combination. Color combination types of chromatic and achromatic color was showed some important differences on emotional image, preference and purchasing intention of knitwear cultural goods. For example, in the case of western style they often seek to convey a sophisticated and stylish street sense, while Koreans add a more cute, lovely, and feminine touch. Second, western restrained eroticism, Japanese fetishism and domestic mono-bosom images all have a common interest in sex. They is something, however, which they all express this differently. In Japan, they prefer a stimulating image. In the West, however, this is restrained by controlling and limiting overt sexual elements, while in Korea, we seek to capture a more simple sensual beauty. Third, western couture luxury, Japanese orientalism and Korean utopia narcissism have classy images in common including splendid materials and decorations with embroidery. They all differ depending on their nationality. This study is baseds on the documents study. This study is baseds on the documents study.

We observed outfits of jean styles on the street using photography method and conducted a survey to 400 females to get information of consumers. Four hundred questionnaires were analyzed using SPSS. As a result of street research, the majority of people were wearing jean pants with T-shirts, sandal/high heel shoes and totes. The results of market research showed that preferred jean styles were significantly associated with age and marital status. Preferred color of jean pants was also significantly associated with age variable. Current popular jean style was a skinny style. We evaluated results of styling with different jean pants, creating five different images. There was a significant relationship between age/marital status and styling image in different jean styles.
