Glutamine Deprivation Inhibits Invasion of Human Prostate Carcinoma LnCap Cells through Inactivation of Matrix Metalloproteinases and Modulation of Tight Junctions (글루타민 결핍에 따른 Tight Junction 및 MMPs 활성 조절을 통한 전립선 암세포의 침윤 억제 현상)

  • Cancer cells exhibit increased demand for glutamine-derived carbons to support anabolic processes. Indeed, the spectrum of glutamine-dependent tumors and the mechanisms through which glutamine supports cancer metabolism remain areas of active investigation. In the present study, we investigated the effects of glutamine deprivation on the correlation between tightening of tight junctions (TJs) and anti-invasive activity in human prostate carcinoma LnCap cells. Glutamine deprivation markedly inhibited cell motility and invasiveness in a time-dependent manner. The anti-invasive activity of glutamine deprivation was associated with an increased tightness of the TJ, which was demonstrated by an increase in transepithelial electrical resistance (TER). The activities of matrix metalloproteinase (MMP)-2 and MMP-9 were inhibited in a time-dependent fashion by glutamine deprivation, which was correlated with a decrease in expression of their mRNA and proteins and up-regulation of tissue inhibitors of metalloproteinases (TIMPs) expression. Furthermore, glutamine deprivation repressed the levels of the claudin family members, which are major components of TJs that play a key role in the control and selectivity of paracellular transport. Moreover, the levels of E-cadherin, a type I transmembrane glycoprotein, and snail, an epithelial to mesenchymal transition regulator and zinc finger transcription factor, were markedly modulated by glutamine deprivation. Taken together, these findings suggest that TJs and MMPs are critical targets of glutamine deprivation-induced anti-invasion in human prostate carcinoma LnCap cells.

Analysis of Tack Properties of Aramid/Phenolic Prepreg (아라미드섬유/페놀수지 프리프레그의 Tack성 분석)

  • The prepreg material is a sheet of the reinforcement pre-impregnated with a resin. In this study, two types of prepreg were prepared with a general phenolic resin and the polyvinyl butyral (PVB) modified phenolic resin, respectively, with resin content of 40 wt%. After resin impregnation, the prepregs were heat treated in an oven to make them the B-stage. Surface morphology of the prepreg was observed by using a scanning electron microscope (SEM). Tack property of the prepreg is one of the major properties that govern the ability of prepreg to be laid up. In this study, the tack of prepreg was measured under various test parameters by a probe tact test. Test parameters were contact time, contact force and debonding rate. Most of the tack properties of the prepreg increased with the test parameters. Then tack properties exhibited a linear behavior with test parameters before a saturation point. Also, the tack of prepreg was investigated in relation with the fibrillation phenomena involved in the prepreg surface with the debonding rate.

  • Recently, ICT Retail Convergence(IRC) has been rapidly increasing to improve consumer satisfaction and consumer experience. In this paper, we aim to diagnose IRC from consumers' point of view by reviewing the present status and value of IRC according to consumer purchase decision making process. Based on the previous studies in retail industry, we classified IRC into 4 types: Experience-specific tech(Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality); Information-specific tech(Artificial Intelligence and Big Data); Location-based tech(Radio Frequency Identification and Beacon); Payment-related tech(Fin-tech and Biometrics). Next, we found that there is a difference in value provided to consumers according to the type of technology, analysing the value by consumer purchase decision making process. This study can be useful to introduce IRC for improving consumer satisfaction as well as ICT and Retail. Also, it can be basic data for future technology studies with a consumer perspective.

A Study on the functional pattern design for brassiere-focusing on large-breasted women- (기능성 브래지어 패턴디자인 연구 -돌출.하수 유방유형을 중심으로-)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop designs and patterns of a functional brassiere. For this purpose, women who have protruding and drooping breasts with 75B for their brassiere size were sampled. The fitting test for the fitness and function of test brassiere and control brassiere were carried out twice and compared the results from the both in terms of front, rear and side looks. The results of this study can be summarized as follows; 1. The results from measuring the level of sag and spread, and volume and protrusion of breasts shows that there are some distinctive differences in the measurements before and after wearing the test brassiere and the test brassiere is proved to be very effective in correcting breasts' shapes. 2. Front look: Since the two front cutting lines of the test brassiere served to have the curved main part pressing against the breasts, it could support breasts to more than satisfactory level. In addition, upperline panel and side panels of the test brassiere were found to have the upperline of the upper cup pressed against the breasts and at the same time it pressed and gathered the flab around upper part of the breasts and armpits that helped to rearrange the shape of the breasts. It is also proved that the two-pieced test brassier was found to be more functional in supporting the lower cup of the breasts. 3. Rear look: The test brassier was made up of two wide U-shaped wings with 2.5cm tape on its lower sides. Each wing has 4 lines and 3 hems (5.5cm). For this reason, the test brassiere was tighter and better fitted on its back. 4. Side look and entire look: The wings of the test brassiere might look wider than that of the control brassier which has conventional straight-shaped wings, but it was analyzed that the test brassiere held the upper and lower sides of the wings more effectively to be more pressed against the breast. Therefore, the test brassiere scored higher in terms of adjusting to body movements, while the control brassiere looked better in overall terms. 5. The functional brassier fur protruding and drooping breasts developed from the experiments of this study is a full side stretch brassiere which covers the entire breasts satisfactorily. Comparative Analysis of Korean and American Body Sizes & Shapes using 3D Scanned Anthropometric Data (한국과 미국 성인의 3차원 인체 치수 비교)

  • This research is the initial step for establishing a convertible body sizing table applicable to the Korean and American female apparel industry. All 3D female measurement data of the two countries were obtained from Size Korea Project and SizeUSA Project. The sample subjects used in this study were 1,988 Korean and 6,306 American females. Thirty-four(34) variables were chosen as the principal measurements in making garments. The conclusion of this research was as follow: First, it was determined that American women were larger and longer than Korean women in all measurement except shoulder slope measurement. Second, according to the differences analysis of the each age group in Korean Females, all measurements except hip girth had significant differences among the age groups. In case of American females, all measurements except arm length(shoulder to wrist) had significant differences among the age groups. Third, in the comparison of differences between the age groups of the two countries' women, some dimensions varied significantly with age, while others did not show any statistical significance among the age groups. Fourth, according to the t-tests of same age groups between Korean & American female measurements, American female measurements were larger and longer than Korean in all measurements except crotch length total, shoulder slope, hip girth-bust girth and hip girth-waist girth.

  • In this research, the writer investigated the thought in realism and view on education appeared in the text, GUANZI("管子") roughly. The thoughts and contemplation in GUANZI mostly contain practical issues of politics, law and economy, as well as military policy and also get involved in the education pursuing an organic relationship therewith. In GUANZI, the rule of law and morality were applied to the politics in a harmonious fashion. Although the text upheld agrarian-oriented policy in connection with nation's economy, it, however, succeeded to secure the national wealth by having implemented the polices concerned with industry and commerce in an appropriate manner. In addition, he established strong military organization through political stability and by securing economic strength. In short, this is the policy in order to pursue 'a rich nation with a strong military.' Under such situation, education made a positive contribution to meet the realistic needs in order for reinforcement of politics, economy, and military. In the level of moral education that will set right the decorum and proprieties of the people, and their loyalty and integrity, vocational training that enabled the four divisions of society, that is, the official class, farmers, artisans and merchants, to carry out their given jobs successfully was highly valued in GUANZI. These are substantial efforts in order to establish the order of community by means of putting emphasis on people's morality and loyalty, and also to create the public weal through reinforcement of producing activities of each class of society. After all, the realistic thought and view on education appeared in GUANZI can be understood as an expression of strong will to accomplish national prosperity and military strength in order to overcome disturbing situations in the society in those days.

  • This study is a study on a methodology that can extract various factors that affect purchase and use of products/services from the consumer's point of view through previous studies, and analyze the types and tendencies of consumers according to age and gender. To this end, we quantify factors in terms of general personal propensity, consumption influence, consumption decision, etc. to check the consistency of data, and based on these studies, we conduct research to suggest and prove data analysis methodologies of consumer types that are meaningful from the perspectives of startups and SMEs. did As a result, it was confirmed through cross-validation that there is a correlation between the three main factors assumed for data analysis from the consumer's point of view, the general tendency, the general consumption tendency, and the factors influencing the consumption decision. verified. This study presented a data analysis methodology and a framework for consumer data analysis from the consumer's point of view. In the current data analysis trend, where digital infrastructure develops exponentially and seeks ways to project individual preferences, this data analysis perspective can be a valid insight.

  • As online transactions increase, the image of clothing has a great influence on consumer purchasing decisions. The importance of image information for clothing materials has been emphasized, and it is important for the fashion industry to analyze clothing images and grasp the materials used. Textile materials used for clothing are difficult to identify with the naked eye, and much time and cost are consumed in sorting. This study aims to classify the materials of textiles from clothing images based on deep learning algorithms. Classifying materials can help reduce clothing production costs, increase the efficiency of the manufacturing process, and contribute to the service of recommending products of specific materials to consumers. We used machine vision-based deep learning algorithms ResNet and Vision Transformer to classify clothing images. A total of 760,949 images were collected and preprocessed to detect abnormal images. Finally, a total of 167,299 clothing images, 19 textile labels and 20 fabric labels were used. We used ResNet and Vision Transformer to classify clothing materials and compared the performance of the algorithms with the Top-k Accuracy Score metric. As a result of comparing the performance, the Vision Transformer algorithm outperforms ResNet.

  • Korean engineering firms need to improve their performance in order to stay competitive in the globalize environments which has been led by some international movements including World Trade Organization (WTO) and Free Trade Agreements (FTA). There have been various activities and researches focusing on how to improve competitiveness of Korean engineering firms and the out-of-fashion Engineering Project Delivery System (EPDS) has repetitively identified as one of main barriers to deter advancements of Korean engineering industry. Therefore, this research attempted to investigate global standards of EPDS such as International Federation of Consulting Engineers (FIDIC), American Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Brooks Act, and so on. The procedures of international EPDSs along with a few case studies were comprehensively analyzed and compared with Korean EPDS in order to propose recommendations of improving Korean EPDS. Some major differences between international and Korean EPDS were identified and they includes emphasis on qualifications of engineers and/or firms rather than their proposed cost, extensive use of long and short-list, common use of negotiation process, etc. Research findings are envisioned to guide the Korean public engineering sector to innovate Korean EPDS.

A Study on the Perceived Value and Intention of Use of Mobile Shopping Apps Using Value-Based Adoption Model (VAM) (가치기반수용모델(VAM)을 활용한 모바일 쇼핑 앱의 지각된 가치와 사용의도에 관한 연구)

  • As the spread of smartphones has become more common and the utilization rate has increased, the mobile shopping market is also growing and expectations for related industries are also increasing. Mobile shopping apps are converging with various industries such as fashion, beauty, and lifestyle, and competition among companies to increase the number of users is intensifying with the activation of non-face-to-face. Accordingly, in this study, a study on the perceived value and intention to use mobile shopping apps was conducted based on a VAM. In order to test the hypothesis of this study, a questionnaire was conducted on 266 people who had used a mobile shopping app and it was used for analysis. Looking at the results, it was confirmed that both usefulness and enjoyment among the perceived benefit of mobile shopping apps have a positive (+) effect on the perceived value. However, it was found that the technicality and perceived risk among the perceived sacrifices of mobile shopping apps did not significantly affect the perceived value. Finally, it was confirmed that the perceived value of the mobile shopping app had a positive (+) effect on the intention to use. Through this study, we would like to examine the factors that can affect perceived value and usage intention in the mobile shopping app industry, which is increasingly competitive among companies along with the rapid growth of mobile technology and market, and suggest practical implications for related companies and officials to establish efficient strategies to further increase mobile shopping app users.
