The SPSS Ver. 18.0 statistical package was used for descriptive statistics analysis, correlation analysis, and hierarchical regression analysis. Results: The major findings were as follows; First, problem drinking was found to have a negative impact on family conflict, depression, and life satisfaction. Second, family conflict and depression were identified to cause decreasing life satisfaction. Third, family conflict and depression was found to have a mediating effect between problem drinking and life satisfaction. Data were drawn from the first wave of the Korean Longitudinal Study of Ageing (KLoSA). The sample consisted of 278 retired middle-aged and elderly Korean men aged between 45 and 64. The results showed that middle-aged and elderly Korean retirees' reasons for retirement differed depending on their health satisfaction. In addition, their retirement satisfaction varied according to their education, health satisfaction, economic satisfaction, and reasons for retirement. Regarding their life satisfaction, it was predicted by their age and satisfaction with health status, economic situation, marriage, and relationship with their children.
This study investigated the influence that the family rituals of unmarried males and females have on satisfaction with life and family role salience, recognizing the necessity to illuminate perceptions related to the original families of unmarried males and females through more diverse perspectives. Questionnaires were given to 601 unmarried male and female adults over 20 years of age. For data analysis, SPSS Win 18.0 was used, and the results are summarized as follows. First, the males and females were divided into three groups: "family with inactive family rituals", "family with active family rituals" or "family with moderate family rituals". There was a significant difference in family role salience depending on family type. Second, family type was classified as a degree of "relation" through common points of two variables, and each group was named as having a family with "satisfying relations," "general relations," or "deficient relations." Third, in the case of males, life satisfaction was high when the level of family economy was high, when parents' first marriage and family actively participated in family rituals.
The purposes of this study were to identify the factors that affect the life satisfaction of unmarried one-person households and to examine how these factors influence this population. This study targeted 308 unmarried one-person households. The results found the following: one-person households without marriage experience had higher levels of job stress than one-person households with marriage experience, and the level of differentiation of family projections was lower; the overall level of life satisfaction was higher in one-person households without marriage experience than in one-person households with marriage experience; in one-person households without marriage experience, higher life satisfaction correlated with higher levels of self-integration, family projection processes, and family retirement differentiation, and lower job stress, which was correlated with higher self-control ability, higher evaluation and higher material support; and life satisfaction was found to be higher in unmarried one-person households that received more information and had a lower age, lower job stress, and higher monthly income. This study contributes to the literature in that it explores how marital experience interacts with demographic variables, occupational factors, psychological factors, and social support factors and consequently affects the life satisfaction of unmarried one-person households.
The purpose of this study is to investigate personality adaptation factors related to life satisfaction of the aged. Personality adaptation factors were classified into four factors(The active-intergration, The dependent-passivity, The failing-overaboundance, The self-negativity). The hypothesises of this study are as follow : (1) Personality adaptation factors can be predited by demographic variables and family environmental variables. (2) Life Satisfaction can be predited by demogaphic variables and family environmental variables. (3) Each personality adaptation factors will be correlated with life satisfaction. For the test of hypothesises, Questionnaries were given to the randomly selected 332 persons over age 60 in Pusan. Questionnaries consist of 4 parts. These are demographic part, family environment part, personality adaptation factor part, and life satisfaction part. The data collected were analyzed by satistical methods such as Case, Percentage Factor Analysis, Multiple Regression Analysis, and Pearson's Correlation. According to the results of the analysis of this study, primary, personality adaptation factor is decided by personal problem. But, this personality adaptation factor of the aged is affected by family environment. Particulary, in the results of the study, frequent communication with their family is more important than physical solidary.

Data were analyzed by using the t-test, Pearson's correlation and regression. Major findings were as follows: (1) There were significant differences in parent and teacher support, satisfaction with school life, home environment, and family relations between early adolescents and mid adolescents. (2) Parental, peer, and teacher support, contentment with oneself, school life, home environment, and family relations were negatively related to the fifth-grade early adolescent's loneliness. Peer support and contentment with oneself, school life, and home environment were negatively related to the second-grade middle adolescent's loneliness. (3) Life satisfaction had a mediation effect between peer, parental, and teacher support and loneliness in fifth grade early adolescence.
This study aimed to explore the moderating effect of social support resources on the life satisfaction and caregiving burden of family caregivers taking care of the elderly in long-term care services. The study participants were selected from among the family caregivers utilizing 30 home care centers in Seoul, Korea. Of the candidates who agreed to participate in the study, 250 caregivers who had supported the elderly at home for at least 6 months were selected. The data collected were analyzed using SPSS ver. 21.0. The study findings were as follows. First, the whole family caregivers' caregiving burden of family caregivers was found to be slightly higher than the median value. More specifically, the physical burden was the heaviest, followed by the family relationship burden, the social activity burden, the emotional burden, and the financial burden. Social support resources and life satisfaction were found to be a little bit higher than the median value. Second, the variables that statistically significantly increased life satisfaction, starting with the strongest effect, were a lower psycho emotional burden, greater informational support resources, a lower economical burden, greater emotional support, a younger caregiver age, a higher monthly income, and a shorter care period. Third, informational support resources were found to have a moderating effect on the relationship between the support burden and life satisfaction. The more the participants used the informational support resource subcategory of the social support resources, the narrower the life satisfaction decrease, even though the caregivers felt a support burden. Informational support resources appear to have a statistically significant buffering effect.
