A Study on the Factors about Job Satisfaction and Social Workers' Turnover -Focused on the Differences Between Using Facility and Living Facility- (사회복지사의 직무만족과 이직의도 영향 요인에 관한 연구 -이용시설과 생활시설 사회복지사 비교 연구-)

  • The purpose of this study is by classifying social welfare facility's workers into community facility and using facility to apprehend the standard of their organize causes, job satisfaction, intention of turnover and influence cause by these. As a result, in organize causes, using facility's workers are more satisfied than community facility's workers. By influence causes of working satisfaction's result, there is a difference between using facility and community facility's working satisfaction influence causes, the working satisfaction deciding causes of community facility's social workers are level of qualification, contents of works and working environment, using facility's workers are contents of works, superior and director, wages, job environment, promotion and improvement and co-workers. Living facility's social workers's influence causes of intention of changing jobs are level of qualification, contents of works and working environment and using facility's workers are only working environment. Finally, based on this study, we suggested various discussions and practical implications for effective staffing.

Relationship between psychological wellbeing of social welfare facility workers and their organizational commitment

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the relationship between psychological wellbeing of social welfare facility workers and their organizational commitment. The subjects of this study were 230 social welfare facility workers in OO city, Gyeongsangbuk-do, Korea. Analysis was conducted using the SPSS program, including frequency analysis, reliability analysis and correlation analysis, and regression analysis on the causal relationship between variables. The results of the study showed that the psychological wellbeing of social welfare facility workers had a meaningful effect on their emotional commitment, continuous commitment and normative commitment. These results confirmed that the higher the psychological wellbeing of social welfare facility workers, the higher the sub-factors of organizational commitment, such as emotional, continuous, normative commitment, resulting in positive effects on the achievement of goals and values that are pursued by the welfare facilities. This study aims to become foundational data for the improvement of working conditions to improve psychological wellbeing of social welfare facility workers to increase organizational commitment.

Effect of disabled facility worker's social support on their job satisfaction

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the difference in social support and job satisfaction of disabled facility workers according to their general characteristics and job characteristics, and to understand the effect of social support on job satisfaction. A questionnaire was conducted against 143 disabled facility workers in D metropolitan city, from 5 January to 29 February 2016. The results of the study are as follows: first, no significant difference was found in the social support of disabled facility workers according to their general characteristics, and only the factor of job area showed significant difference in social support according to job characteristics. Secondly, there was no significant difference in job satisfaction of disabled facility workers according to their general characteristics or job characteristics. Thirdly, support of the superior, as a sub-factor of social support recognised by the disabled facility worker, was found to have a significant positive effect on job satisfaction. This study seeks to become foundational data for the development of plans to improve the job satisfaction of disabled facility workers.

Factors affecting Insomnia by Degree of Subjective Noise Perception in School Meal Facility Workers (학교 급식시설 종사자의 주관적 소음 인지 정도가 불면증에 영향을 미치는 요인)

  • Purpose: This study aims to identify the level of subjective noise perception among School Meal Facility Workers and analyze the relationship between subjective noise perception and insomnia, as well as the factors affecting insomnia. Methods: School meal facility workers were surveyed from November 1 to December 31, 2021, and 717 people were selected as participants for the study. Using SPSS/WIN 25.0, t-test, x2 test, and multiple logistic regression analysis were conducted. The Korean Insomnia Severity Index (ISI-K) was used to evaluate insomnia. Results: The variables that showed significant differences in insomnia in general characteristics, health-related characteristics, subjective health perception, and subjective noise perception of the study participants were mental disorders such as subjective health perception, work stress, depression, etc., gastrointestinal disorders, and subjective noise perception, among which subjective health perception, mental disorders such as depression, and subjective noise perception were analyzed as factors influencing insomnia. Conclusion: To improve the quality of insomnia and sleep among school meal facility workers, there is a need to improve healthcare, emotional management, and noisy work environments.

The Art Therapy in Groups' on the work Stresses and Emotional Burnouts of Social Workers for Diabled Facility (집단미술치료가 성인지적장애인 이용시설 사회복지사의 직무스트레스와 심리적소진에 미치는 효과)

  • The purpose of this study is to see the effect of the art therapy in group on the work stresses and emotional burnouts of social workers for diabled facility. The subjects are the 8 members of social workers at the facility for disabled located in city A. From Feb 16, 2016 to May 31, 2016, 70 minutes per session, overall 13 therapies were given. To see the therapeutic effects, there were test of stress and burnout before, afterwards and 4 weeks later. To find out the similarities in group, Mann Whitney U test was done, and Wilcoxon's signed ranks test was done to see the difference afterwards. As a result, art therapy in group was effective on the work stress and burnout of social workers in daisabled facility and the positive effect lasted. This results suggests a developed ways to reduce work stress and emotional burnout of social workers for disabled facility.

Occupational risk factors influencing subjective oral symptoms in hospital facility Temp·Contract Workers (병원 시설 파견·용역 근로자들의 주관적 구강 증상에 영향을 미치는 직무 위험 요인에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the occupational risk factors that affect oral symptoms in hospital facility workers. This study surveyed 627 hospital facility temp·contract workers in the metropolitan area from November 17, 2020 to May 20, 2021. The results of the study indicate that oral symptoms were higher among workers with high risk of musculoskeletal disorders and injuries. Also, symptoms of oral mucosa, temporomandibular joint disorder, and dry mouth were high in the areas of job insecurity and organizational injustice. As the occupational risk factors and occupational stress of workers increased, the risk of oral symptoms increased. In the future, this study can be used as basic data for improving oral health policies to better the oral health of hospital facility workers.

A study on effects of resting facility on the Reduction of Disasters in Construction Projects (건설 사업장 휴게시설이 재해감소에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • This researcher selected basic variable to investigate the effective relations of establishment and management of resting facility on reduction of constructional disasters and safety accidents and improvement of working efficiency for construction workers. Based on the measured variables, this researcher investigated phenomenon, recognition and satisfaction for using and demanding resting facility by long-term construction in construction site for workers of huge construction site in Seoul, conducted survey of total 219 questionnaires so as to grasp implications of workers' resting facility demanded in long-term huge construction site and effects on reduction of disasters and conducted structural equation analysis. As a result, resting faciity factor, management factor, and hygienic service factor were significant and resting and food factors were not significant. Therefore, it's expected to reduce personal disaster by improving quality of constructional resting facility, hygienic service, and resting facility management and especially, resting facility management factor makes lots of effects on prevention of personal disasters, so it was a strongly main factor. By suggesting the guideline of establishment and management service of proper resting facility through this research, positive recognition and constructional disaster reduction can be expected in construction site.

A Phenomenological Study on the Experiences of Long Term Care Facility Workers during the COVID-19 Pandemic (코로나19 대유행 시 일 노인요양시설에 종사하는 요양보호사의 직무경험에 대한 연구)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to understand the experiences of those who take care of the elderly at a long-term care facility during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: Colaizzi's phenomenological research method was applied to describe the meaning and nature of the experiences of eight workers in an elderly care facility during the COVID-19 crisis. Results: Studies have shown that these workers experienced 'fear from infectious disease' and had the opportunity to 'reflect upon life changed by infectious disease.' They also worked together to overcome the crisis by 'protect nursing home with the nurses at COVID-19 sites' and felt 'safety from the nursing home,' and experienced 'a strong sense of calling for the job' through the crisis. Conclusion: This study is the first of its kind conducted in Korea on workers in an elderly care facility. The results indicate that it is necessary to supports these workers with practical useful education, counseling, and emotional support during the epidemic.

Effects of Occupational Risk Factors on Mental Health of Hospital Facility Temporary and Contract Workers (병원 시설 파견·용역 근로자들의 업무상 위험요인이 정신건강에 미치는 효과)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study is to examine occupational risk factors that affect the mental health (depression, anxiety, anger, insomnia, self-esteem, trauma) of hospital facility workers. Methods: A survey was conducted from November 17, 2020 to December 1, 2020 for 700 non-medical workers (Temporary and contract workers: cleaning, security, information, office workers, etc.) working at a general hospital in Seoul. Results: As a result of the study, the risk of musculoskeletal disorders was found to have a significant effect on depression, anxiety, insomnia, and trauma. Noise had a significant effect on depression and anger, dust hazard had an effect on depression and self-esteem, and high temperature had a significant effect on anxiety and insomnia. Conclusions: Based on these results, it is necessary to examine the influence of occupational risk factors to improve the mental health of non-medical hospital facility workers.

An Effect of Aged Care Facility Worker's Psychological Capital on Turnover Intension and Job Satisfaction (노인요양기관종사자의 심리적 자본이 이직의도 및 직무만족에 미치는 영향)

  • Objectives: This study aims to examine the effect of psychological capital on turnover intension and job satisfaction by aged care facility workers. Methods : Samples were obtained from 147 aged care facility workers in one county of Kyungsangbukdo. The study conducted a correlation and a regression analysis to learn how psychological capital (self-efficacy, hope, optimism, resilience) would affect turnover intension and job satisfaction. Results : First, age and marital status turned out to have a positive (+) influence on job satisfaction which would be negative (-) affected by tenure of office. Second, hope, sub-variable of Psychological Capital, affected a negative (-) influence on turnover intension. Third, resilience, sub-variable of Psychological Capital, affected a positive(+) influence on job satisfaction. Conclusions: It is suggested to develop the psychological capital of aged care facility workers, effective welfare system and educational program are required for better job satisfaction.
