  • Optical and electrical characteristics of the fluorocarbon films deposited in a high-density C4F8 plasma under various source powers and pressures were investigated. The F/C ratio of the fluorocarbon film deposited in a high-density C4F8 plasma increased with increasing source power and decreasing pressure due to two-step deposition mechanism. The change in the F/C ratio of the film directly affected the optical and electrical characteristics of the fluorocarbon films deposited in a high-density C4F8 plasma. The refractive index of the fluorocarbon film increased with decreasing source power and increasing pressure contrary to the dependence of the film's F/C ratio on the source power and pressure. This was because the increase in the F/C ratio suppressed electronic polarization and weakened the network structures of the film. The resistivity of the fluorocarbon film showed the same behavior as its F/C ratio. In other words, the resistivity increased with increasing source power and decreasing pressure, resulting from stronger repellence of electrons at higher F/C ratios. This work offers the feasibility of the use of the fluorocarbon films deposited in a high-density C4F8 plasma as an alternative to low dielectric constant materials because the optical and electrical properties of the fluorocarbon film can be directly controlled by its F/C ratio.

  • This study investigates the 3D printing characteristics of strain hardening cement composites (SHCC) reinforced by PVA fibers. Three SHCC mixtures with diverse fiber volume fractions (1.0% for F1.0 mixture, 1.5% for F1.5 mixture, and 1.8% for F1.8 mixture) were designed. Except for the F1.0 mixture, all mixtures met the necessary conditions for multiple micro-cracking, with higher fiber volume fractions more readily satisfying these conditions. The flow values of three SHCC mixtures were within the 3D printable range of 120~160 mm, exhibiting decreased flow values with increasing the fiber volume fractions. Observation of the printed SHCC surfaces indicated that the F1.0 mixture had a Level-3 (good) rating, while F1.5 and F1.8 were rated as Level-2 (average). Higher fiber volume fractions resulted in poorer surface quality, thus, further research needs to be performed for modulating SHCC mixture suitable for 3D printing. The uniaxial tension behavior showed that the F1.0 mixture failed at lower strain, whereas F1.5 and F1.8 exhibited higher strain performance with multiple micro-cracks occurring.

  • This study presents one universal mean formula of implicate quantity for speed, temperature, consistency, density, unit cost, and the national income per person in order to avoid the inconvenience of applying different formulas for each one of them. This work is done by using the principle of lever and was led to the formula of two implicate quantity, $M=\frac{x_1f_1+x_2f_2}{f_1+f_2}$, and to help the understanding of relationships in this formula. The value of ratio of fraction cannot be added but it shows that it can be calculated depending on the size of the ratio. It is intended to solve multiple additions with one formula which is the expansion of the mean formula of implicate quantity. $M=\frac{x_1f_1+x_2f_2+{\cdots}+x_nf_n}{N}$, where $f_1+f_2+{\cdots}+f_n=N$. For this reason, this mean formula will be able to help in physics as well as many other different fields in solving complication of structures.

  • Let f be a function which assigns a positive integer f(v) to each vertex v $\in$ V (G), let r, s and t be non-negative integers. An f-coloring of G is an edge-coloring of G such that each vertex v $\in$ V (G) has at most f(v) incident edges colored with the same color. The minimum number of colors needed to f-color G is called the f-chromatic index of G and denoted by ${\chi}'_f$(G). An [r, s, t; f]-coloring of a graph G is a mapping c from V(G) $\bigcup$ E(G) to the color set C = {0, 1, $\ldots$; k - 1} such that |c($v_i$) - c($v_j$ )| $\geq$ r for every two adjacent vertices $v_i$ and $v_j$, |c($e_i$ - c($e_j$)| $\geq$ s and ${\alpha}(v_i)$ $\leq$ f($v_i$) for all $v_i$ $\in$ V (G), ${\alpha}$ $\in$ C where ${\alpha}(v_i)$ denotes the number of ${\alpha}$-edges incident with the vertex $v_i$ and $e_i$, $e_j$ are edges which are incident with $v_i$ but colored with different colors, |c($e_i$)-c($v_j$)| $\geq$ t for all pairs of incident vertices and edges. The minimum k such that G has an [r, s, t; f]-coloring with k colors is defined as the [r, s, t; f]-chromatic number and denoted by ${\chi}_{r,s,t;f}$ (G). In this paper, we present some general bounds for [r, s, t; f]-coloring firstly. After that, we obtain some important properties under the restriction min{r, s, t} = 0 or min{r, s, t} = 1. Finally, we present some problems for further research.

    • Genetic polymorphism of transferrin $(T_f)$ subtypes in Jeju population was studied by isoelectric focusing of human sera on polyacrylamide gels under high voltage, and haptolobin (Hp) polymorphism in Seoul and Jeju population was studied by polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. Among 946 normal samples, three common types of transferrin, $T_{f}C_{1}, T_{f}C_{1}-C_{2} and T_{f}C_{2}$ were observed with some variants migrating slower than $T_{f}C$ subtypes, while among 139 patient (hepatitis) samples, only three common types were found. The gene frequencies were calculated as follows; in normal population, $T_{f}C^{1}$ was 0.7220; $T_{f}C^{2}, 0.2743; T_{f}D^{Jeju}, 0.0037$, and in patient population, $T_{f}C^{1} was 0.7194; T_{f}C^{2}, 0.2806$ respectively. Among 460 samples in Seoul and 502 in Jeju population, three types of haptoglobin, Hp 1-1, Hp 2-1 and Hp 2-2 were observed. The gene frequency of $Hp^1$ was 0.304, $Hp^2$, 0.696 in Seoul and in Jeju, $Hp^1$ was 0.269 and $Hp^2$, 0.731, respectively. The frequencies of the genes and the polymorphic phenotypes were discussed comparatively with the other populations.

    • We demonstrated an optical frequency synthesizer based on a femtosecond (fs) mode-locked Ti:sapphire (Ti:s) laser by simultaneously stabilizing the carrier-offset frequency, $f_{ceo}$, and repetition rate, $f_{ rep}$, referenced to the Cs atomic frequency standard. By using two wide-band digital phase-detectors we realized a phase-coherent link between $f_{rep} and f_{ceo} with the relation f_{ceo} = f_{AOM} 5/6f_{rep} ≡ 0, where f_{AOM} = 5/6f_{rep}$ is the phase-locked driving frequency of an acousto-optic modulator (AOM) in a self-referencing interferometer and $f_{rep}$ = 100 MHz. As a result, we could stabilize all components of the fs laser comb at once with an equal frequency separation $f_{rep}$ = 100 MHz with $f_{ceo}$ = 0. In our optical frequency synthesizer, the frequency of the nth component ($f_{n}$) is given exactly by the simple relation $f_n = nf_{rep}$, enabling us to use the fs laser comb as a frequency ruler in the optical frequency metrology.

    • Filippinodillo flavimaculis and F. palawanensis from Philippines, are described as new species. For the presence of a ledge on pereonal epimeron 1, F. flavimaculis resembles both of the previously known species, F. maculatus Schmalfuss, 1987 and F. kimberleyensis Lewis, 1998, but differs from F. maculatus in the shape of frontal shield and from F. kimberleyensis in the shape of ventral surface of pereonal epimera 3-7 and pleonal epimeron 3. F. palawanensis is easily distinguished from all the others in the genus by the shape of the pereonal epimeron 1 not forming a ledge and with lateral margin grooved entirely.

    • A survival variable is a non-negative random variable X with distribution function F(t) satisfying F(0) : 0 and a survival function F(t): 1-F(t). This variable is said to be New Better than Used of specified age t$_{0}$ if F(x+ t$_{0}$)$\leq$F(x).F(t$_{0}$) for all x$\geq$0 and a fixed t$_{0}$. We propose the test for H$_{0}$ : F(x+t$_{0}$)=F(x).F(t$_{0}$) for all x$\geq$0 against H$_1$: F(x+t$_{0}$) $\leq$ F(x).F(t$_{0}$) for all x$\geq$0 when the specified age to is unknown but can be estimated from the data when t$_{0}$$_{p}$, the pth percentile of F. This test statistic, which is based on the normalized spacings between the ordered observations, is readily applied in the case of small sample. Also, our test is more simple than Ahmad's test (1998). Finally, the performance of our test is presented.our test is presented.
