The physical parameters of controlled systems are uncertain and are accompanied with nonlinearity. The transfer function of the controlled system should, therefore, be expressed by interval polynomials. This paper describes the realization of robust performance for that type of control system (interval system) via model reference feedback. First, we will analyze an invariance problem of dynamic characteristics such that the dominant roots do not break away from a specified circular area, and will present a discrimination algorithm (i.e., a division algorithm) for the extreme points of the uncertain coefficients. Then, we will present a design method of control systems which have a robust performance such that the location of the dominant roots dose not vary excessively.
The aerodynamic and aero-elastic model tests of the China''s highest cooling tower has been carried out in the TJ-3 Boundary Layer Wind Tunnel of Tongji University. By adopting a scanivalve system, the external wind pressure is firstly measured on $12{\times}36$ taps for a single tower, two and four grouped towers under the condition of both smooth flow and the boundary layer due to surrounding geographic and building topography. The measurements of internal wind pressure distribution of $6{\times}36$ taps are taken for a single tower under the various ventilation ratios ranging from 0% to 100% of stuffing layers located at the bottom of the tower. In the last stage, the wind tunnel tests with an aero-elastic model are carefully conducted to determine wind-induced displacements at six levels (each with eight points) with laser displacement sensors. According to the measurement results of wind pressure or vibration response, the extreme aerodynamic loading values of the single or grouped towers are accordingly analyzed based on probability correlation technique.
This paper presents an efficient approach for solving the economic dispatch (ED) problems with prohibited operating zones using an improved particle swarm optimization (PSO). Although the PSO-based approaches have several advantages suitable to the heavily constrained nonconvex optimization problems, they still have the drawbacks such as local optimal trapping due to the premature convergence (i.e., exploration problem) and insufficient capability to find nearly-by extreme points (i.e., exploitation problem). This paper proposes an improved PSO framework adopting a crossover operation scheme to increase both exploration and exploitation capability of the PSO. The proposed method is applied to ED problem with prohibited operating zones. Also, the results are compared with those of the state-of-the-art methods.
In this talk, our recent progress in experiment study on microscopic surface phonons has been reviewed. After the brief introduction concerning the concept of surface phonons, exprimental apparatus of HREELS and the principle of the measurment for surface phonon dispersions, I show the experimental data of some solide surfaces. The following points are discussed ; (1) lattice dynamical analysis of the phonon dispersions of some transi tion metal carbide (100) surfaces indicates the large changes in the force constant near the surface, which is consistent wi th a rippled structure of a topmost layer. (2) the phonon dispersions of a graphite overlayer show the modified phonon structure, which indicates that the thickness of the overlayer is one atomic layer, and in addition, the electronic structure is also modified. (3) The phonon structure of $LaB_6$ (100) surface is discussed. Lastly I telJ about new technology of extreme high vaccum less than $10^{-10}$ Pa.EX> Pa.
A Satellite shipping container must afford the satellite a relatively benign thermal, vibration, and particle environment that is oblivious to the extreme temperatures, sand, dust, vibrations and shocks that can accompany the transportation. In this study, we have designed a vibration isolation system of a spacecraft container that will be used to transport a satellite called KOMPSAT (KOrea Multi-Purpose SATellite) -2 from KARI (Korea Aerospace Research Institute) Taejon to its launch site. To identify the dynamic characteristics of the system, a 1/3-scaled mockup of the container was developed. A large electro-magnetic shaker (Max. 240 KN) was used to excite the mockup, and vibration signals from 20 points were collected for modal tests. Numerical simulations through CATIA 3D Modeling were performed to identify the behavior of isolation springs. The results showed that a simplified model predicts the behavior in a reasonable accuracy. Moreover, the model guides us how to design a full-scaled satellite-shipping container.
This paper mainly deals with the tilted Carath$\acute{e}$odory class by angle ${\lambda}$${\in}$ ($-{\pi}/2$, ${\pi}/2$), denoted by $P{\lambda}$) an element of which maps the unit disc into the tilted right half-plane {<${\omega}$ : Re $e^{i{\lambda}}{\omega}$ > 0}. Firstly we will characterize $P{\lambda}$ from different aspects, for example by subordination and convolution. Then various estimates of functionals over $P{\lambda}$ are deduced by considering these over the extreme points of $P{\lambda}$ or the knowledge of functional analysis. Finally some subsets of analytic functions related to $P{\lambda}$ including close-to-convex functions with argument ${\lambda}$, ${\lambda}$-spirallike functions and analytic functions whose derivative is in $P{\lambda}$ are also considered as applications.
In this paper, we have introduced a generalized class SiH (m, n, 𝛾, 𝜙, 𝜓; 𝛼), i ∈ {0, 1} of harmonic univalent functions in unit disc 𝕌, a sufficient coefficient condition for the normalized harmonic function in this class is obtained. It is also shown that this coefficient condition is necessary for its subclass 𝒯 SiH (m, n, 𝛾, 𝜙, 𝜓; 𝛼). We further obtained extreme points, bounds and a covering result for the class 𝒯 SiH (m, n, 𝛾, 𝜙, 𝜓; 𝛼). Also, show that this class is closed under convolution and convex combination. While proving our results, certain conditions related to the coefficients of 𝜙 and 𝜓 are considered, which lead to various well-known results.
In the 1990's several economically important marine fisheries collapsed or showed signs of extreme hardship owing to overcapitalization and excessive fishing pressure on the resources. Public concern was raised and demands voiced for more prudent fishery management practices. The United Nations responded and developed international guidelines, such as the FAO Code of Conduct for Responsible Fishing and the UN Straddling Fish Socks and Highly Migratory Fish Stocks Agreement These guidelines task fishery managers to take prudent steps to ensure the long-term viability of fisheries and fishery resources. Included in the guidelines are two particular demands that will challenge stock assessment scientists in the new millennium. They are application of the precautionary approach and the inclusion of ecological considerations in assessments and management advice. High-lighted in the presentation are examples from the central-western Pacifi skipjack tuna fishery and the eastern Pacific thresher shark fishery where insufficien information is affecting stock assessments. The shortcomings are further linked t the new challenges of applying the precautionary approach, such as reference points, and ecological considerations, such as predator-prey and oceanographic-regime shift.(omitted)
The object of this study is to introduce a new subclass of univalent analytic functions on the open unit disk. This subclass is created by utilizing univalent analytic functions with negative coefficients. We first explore the specific properties that functions in this subclass must possess before examining their coefficient characterization. By applying this approach, we observe several fascinating features, including coefficient approximations, growth and distortion theorems, extreme points and a demonstration of the radius of starlikeness and convexity for functions belonging to this subclass.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to set up an anomaly detection criteria for sensor data coming from a motorcycle. Methods: Five sensor values for accelerator pedal, engine rpm, transmission rpm, gear and speed are obtained every 0.02 second from a motorcycle. Exploratory data analysis is used to find any pattern in the data. Traditional process control methods such as X control chart and time series models are fitted to find any anomaly behavior in the data. Finally unsupervised learning algorithm such as k-means clustering is used to find any anomaly spot in the sensor data. Results: According to exploratory data analysis, the distribution of accelerator pedal sensor values is very much skewed to the left. The motorcycle seemed to have been driven in a city at speed less than 45 kilometers per hour. Traditional process control charts such as X control chart fail due to severe autocorrelation in each sensor data. However, ARIMA model found three abnormal points where they are beyond 2 sigma limits in the control chart. We applied a copula based Markov chain to perform statistical process control for correlated observations. Copula based Markov model found anomaly behavior in the similar places as ARIMA model. In an unsupervised learning algorithm, large sensor values get subdivided into two, three, and four disjoint regions. So extreme sensor values are the ones that need to be tracked down for any sign of anomaly behavior in the sensor values. Conclusion: Exploratory data analysis is useful to find any pattern in the sensor data. Process control chart using ARIMA and Joe's copula based Markov model also give warnings near similar places in the data. Unsupervised learning algorithm shows us that the extreme sensor values are the ones that need to be tracked down for any sign of anomaly behavior.
