The Influence of Self-Image and Pursued-Image of Clothes on the Clothing Purchase Decision Making According to the Residence (거주지 별 자기이미지와 의복 추구이미지가 의복구매 의사결정에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the role of consumers' self-image and pursued-image of clothes on the clothing purchase decision making according to the location. Data were obtained from a questionnaire filled out by 575 women living in Seoul and Jechon. For data comparative analysis, paired t-test, t-test, factor analysis and multiple regression analysis were used. The results of this study are as follows: 1. There were significant differences in self-image and pursued-image in terms of clothing purchases between women who live in Seoul and Jechon residents. 2. Demographic variables influenced to the self-image and pursued-image of clothes factor. Among them, size of the city was the most important factor which influence to the clothing purchase behavior. 3. Self-image, pursued-image of clothes, problem recognition and evaluative criteria factors significantly differed between Seoul and Jechon residents. In two cities, problem recognition factor which was arisen by external stimulus and all of the evaluative criteria factors showed significant differences. 4. When the cities were partitioned by size(large and small city), the influence of self-image and pursued-image of clothes on the clothing purchase behavior showed different phases. Generally, self image and pursued-image of clothes were more important to various problem recognition and evaluative criteria factors in large city(i.e. Seoul) than in small city(i.e. Jechon). However economic rational factor was the exception.

Investigating vibration behavior of smart imperfect functionally graded beam subjected to magnetic-electric fields based on refined shear deformation theory

  • In this disquisition, an exact solution method is developed for analyzing the vibration characteristics of magneto-electro-elastic functionally graded (MEE-FG) beams by considering porosity distribution and various boundary conditions via a four-variable shear deformation refined beam theory for the first time. Magneto-electroelastic properties of porous FG beam are supposed to vary through the thickness direction and are modeled via modified power-law rule which is formulated using the concept of even and uneven porosity distributions. Porosities possibly occurring inside functionally graded materials (FGMs) during fabrication because of technical problem that lead to creation micro-voids in FG materials. So, it is necessary to consider the effect of porosities on the vibration behavior of MEE-FG beam in the present study. The governing differential equations and related boundary conditions of porous MEE-FG beam subjected to physical field are derived by Hamilton's principle based on a four-variable tangential-exponential refined theory which avoids the use of shear correction factor. An analytical solution procedure is used to achieve the natural frequencies of porous-FG beam supposed to magneto-electrical field which satisfies various boundary conditions. A parametric study is led to carry out the effects of material graduation exponent, porosity parameter, external magnetic potential, external electric voltage, slenderness ratio and various boundary conditions on dimensionless frequencies of porous MEE-FG beam. It is concluded that these parameters play noticeable roles on the vibration behavior of MEE-FG beam with porosities. Presented numerical results can be applied as benchmarks for future design of MEE-FG structures with porosity phases.

Empirical Study on the Supervisor's Responses to the Subordinate's Poor Performance (부하의 낮은 업적에 대한 상사의 반응에 관한 연구)

  • Performance evaluation continues to receive attention today as it has for the past few decades. The problem addressed in this paper concerns the relationship between supervisor's causal attributions and their subsequent responses behavior. Previous study in personnel and other disciplines has indicated the importance of causal attributions in the interpretation of poor performance. However, most study has focused on antecedents of attributions than supervisor's responses to the subordinate's poor performance. The objective of this study was to investigate the effects of supervisor's causal attributions and subordinate's responses to a subordinate's poor performance. Specifically, using in the public sector context, the study examined the effects to two dimensions of causal attributions: locus of causality and stability, as well as on the punitiveness of supervisors's responses. The result supported that when the subordinate is internal causes for the performance failure, supervisor's responses were more punitive. Consistent with previous studies, internal attributions were found to result in more punitive behavior than external attribution. In addition, attributions to effort and luck were found to result in more punitive behavior than attributions to ability and task difficulty. Thus, the first hypothesis and second hypothesis supported. These result suggest the importance of appropriately for performance evaluation.

An Analysis of Child Care and Education Teacher's Current Practices and Difficulties in Supporting Children with Problem Behaviors (국공립 어린이집 재원 유아의 문제행동과 교사의 현재 교수 실태 및 지원요구에 대한 탐색)

  • The purpose of this study was to find out various problem behaviors of children who were not diagnosed with any disability, but instead, engaged in problem behaviors. This study also intended to review the difficulties of children with problem behaviors, their teachers' difficulties and needs, to suggest support for child care and education teachers. This study conducted semi-structured qualitative interviews with eight child care and education teachers. The interviews were transcribed into text and analyzed by contents. The results of this study are as follows. Problem behaviors of children described by teachers were classified into external and internal types. In addition, children with problem behaviors had experienced difficulties in maintaining relationships with their teachers, peers and parents. Many teachers were not successful to provide appropriate support for preschoolers who demonstrated problem behaviors in classrooms or some teachers provided individualized support. Teachers adapted the behavioral and the psychological approaches to problem behaviors of preschoolers. However, teachers reported difficulties with children with problem behavior and brought up the following issues on teaching children with problem behaviors; managing troubled matters happening in the class, difficulty in controlling teacher's emotions on problem behaviors, the lack of time, the integrated child care time without teacher in charge of child, the interruption in activity progress, the lack of a special way to deal with problem behaviors, and difficulty in cooperation with families through parents-teacher counseling sessions. Teachers counseled with parents who had a child with problem behaviors and revealed that parents reacted to problem behaviors in various ways such as embarrassment, acceptance, ignorance, or avoidance. Most teachers received assistance and support for teaching children with problem behaviors, from families, local communities and in-service training. Lastly, teachers with preschoolers with problem behaviors needed the support of experts on managing behavior problems, assistant teaching personnel, education for parents and teachers, respects for teachers, psychological counseling or play therapy from professional service agencies, diagnosis service at child care and education centers which children attended, and support networking with agencies. Teachers also required the family support of medical diagnosis and psychological counseling and financial support from the government.

  • A simple route of external mechanical force is presented for enhancing the electrical properties of polymer nanocomposite consisted of nanowires. By dispersing ZnO nanowires in polymer solution and drop casting on substrates, nanocomposite transistors containing ZnO nanowires are successfully fabricated. Even though the ZnO nanowires density is properly controlled for device fabrication, as-cast device doesn't show any detectable currents, because nanowires are separated far from each other with the insulating polymer matrix intervening between them. Compared to the device pressed at 300 kPa, the device pressed at 600 kPa currents increased by 50times showing the linear behavior against drain voltage and exhibits promising electrical properties, which operates in the depletion mode with higher mobility and on-current. Such an improved device performance would be realized by the contacts improvement and the increase of the number of electrical path induced by external force. This approach provides a viable solution for serious contact resistance problem of nanocomposite materials and promises for future manufacturing of high-performance devices.

  • There is a close interaction between the linguistic-syntactic representation system and the affective representation system that appear in the mathematical process. On the other hand, since the mathematical conceptual system is fundamentally metaphoric, the analysis of the mathematical concept structure through linguistic representation can help to identify the source of cognitive and affective obstacles that interfere with mathematics learning. In this study, we analyzed the problem-solving protocols of mathematical gifted children from the perspective of cognitive language and meta-affect to identify the relationship between the functional characteristics of the text and metaphor they use and the functional characteristics of meta-affect. As a result, the behavior of the cognitive and affective characteristics of mathematically gifted children differed according to the success of problem solving. In the case of unsuccessful problem-solving, the use of metaphor as an internal representation system was relatively more frequent than in the successful case. In addition, while the cognitive linguistic aspects of metaphors play an important role in problem-solving, meta-affective attributes are closely related to the external representation of metaphors.

  • Recently, use of Continuous Welded rail(CWR) is increased for structural, economical reason but new problem is caused accordingly and phenomenon that give threat in traveling by ship stability of train is led. According as rail is prolonged, excessive relative displacement and longitudinal force can happen to rail by temperature change and external force. Specially, buckling or fracture of rail can happen in railroad bridges because relative displacement by bridge and properties of matter difference between rail grows and additional axial force happens to rail by behavior of bridge. According to several study, longitudinal force of rail in bridge is influenced with ballast resistance, elongation length, boundary condition, stiffness of framework. Non-linear behavior of ballast acts by the most important factor in interaction between rail and bridge. Therefore, must consider stiffness of bridge construction with non-linear characteristic of ballast and stiffness of base for accuracy with longitudinal force calculation and analyze. In this study, perform material non-linear analysis for longitudinal force of CWR and three dimensional buckling analysis to decide buckling force.

  • The structural system that discreterized continuous shells is frequently used to make dome-type structures and these structures show the unstable phenomena by snap-through or bifurcation when a load level reaches certain critical value. The characteristic structural behaviour of a cable dome shows a strong nonlinearity and very sensitive according to the initial imperfection. In this study the shape finding problem by applying initial tension stress is investigated and using this the unstable phenomena of perfectly shaped and initially imperfected shape model by external forces are examined to grasp the unstable behavior of cable dome using the Geiger-type model.

  • In this paper addresses the low-level behavior of fuzzy control and the high-level behavior selector for Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs) based on a Fuzzy Artificial Immune Network. The sensing information that comes from ultrasonic sensors is the antigen it, and stimulates antibodies. There are many possible combinations of actions between action-patterns and external situations. The question is how to handle the situations to decide the proper action. We propose a fuzzy artificial immune network to solve the above problem. and the computer simulation for an AMR action selector shows the usefulness of the proposed action selector.
