  • In this paper we investigate an functional central limit theorem for a nonstatioary d-parameter array of associated random variables applying the crite-rion of the tightness condition in Bickel and Wichura[1971]. Our results imply an extension to the nonstatioary case of invariance principle of Burton and Kim(1988) and analogous results for the d-dimensional associated random measure. These re-sults are also applied to show a new functional central limit theorem for Poisson cluster random variables.

  • In this paper, we introduce two types of algebraic operations on fuzzy numbers using piecewise linear functions and then show that the Zadeh implication is smaller than the Diense-Rescher implication, which is smaller than the Lukasiewicz implication. If ($f$, *) is an available pair, then $A*_mB{\leq}A*_pB{\leq}A*_jB$.

  • Recently, Oussalah 〔Fuzzy Sets and Systems 128(2002) 247-260〕 investigated some theoretical results about some invariance properties concerning the relationships between the defuzzification outcomes and the arithmetic of fuzzy numbers. But, in this note we introduce some explicit calculations of the resulting fuzzy set or possibility distribution when the matter is the determination of the defuzzified value pertaining to the result of some manipulation of fuzzy quantities under t-norm based fuzzy arithmetic operations.

  • Many of the currently used PN code acquisition algorithms detect the phase of the incoming PN signal on the basis of ML estimation principle and utilize statistics grounded in taking inner products. As an extension of PN code acquisition algorithm using one auxiliary code introduced by Salih in 1996, we propose a more and optimal (hardware / time / space complexity wise) algorithm by using a vector space approach. We outline some important differences between our algorithm and that introduced by Salih and in the process point out some advantages of our algorithm.

  • In this note, we show that Theorem 2.1[Kybernetika, 28(1992) 45-49], a result of a functional relationship between the membership function of LR fuzzy numbers of T-sum and T-product, remains valid for convex additive generator and concave shape functions L and R with simple proof. We also consider the case for 0-symmetric R fuzzy numbers.

  • In this paper, the output feedback stabilizing problem is solved using any given state feedback control law. Compared to the linear systems is not so straightforward for nonlinear systems. We briefly explain the intrinsic obstructions for this problem and provide new output feedback scheme which achieves the semi-global stabilization with the high-gain state observer. THe overall uniform observability of the plant. Therefore, the result can be regarded as an extension of the separation principle for linear systems in some aspect.

  • Computation with fuzzy numbers is a prospective branch of a fuzzy set theory regarding the data processing applications. In this paper we consider an open problem about distributivity of fuzzy Quantities based on the extension principle suggested by Mares (1997). Indeed, we show that the distributivity on the class of fuzzy numbers holds and min-norm is the only continuous f-norm which holds the distributivity under f-norm based fuzzy arithmetic operations.

  • In this work, it is shown that the combination of operational techniques and the use of the principle of quasi-monomiality can be a very useful tool for a more general insight into the theory of matrix polynomials and for their extension. We explore the formal properties of the operational rules to derive a number of properties of certain class of matrix polynomials and discuss the operational links with various known matrix polynomials.

  • Linearized motions of as axisymmetrical dock freely floating in a regular plane wave are discussed. An extension of the Bessho variational principle(Bessho[3]) is derived to obtain a numerical procedure for a solution of the boundary value problem associated with the fluid motion. The added mass and the damping coefficients for a circular dock in vertical(heave) and horizontal(surge) oscillations are evaluated numerically, and the resulte seems to be satisfactory.
