지연제가 물씻기 공법에 의한 골재 노출콘크리트의 물성에 미치는 영향 (Effect of retarding agent on the properties of aggregate-exposed concrete produced by water jet washing method)

  • In this research, the effect of the amount of retarder and the washing timing on the quality of aggregate-exposed concrete produced by water-jet washing method is evaluated as a series of test to develop the aggregate-exposed concrete as a concrete finishing method. As a result, the amount of losing aggregate and surface mortar was increased as the dosage of retarder was increased because of the hydration retarding effect of the retarder. Furthermore, as the washing timing was extended, the mortar on the surface of the concrete was not blown by water jet with 8 to 24 ml of retarder because of hydration of cement, hence the surface quality was poor. Therefore, washing timing of one day after concrete placement showed 90 % of aggregate exposed rate and 24 ml of retarder showed the most favorable result of aggregate exposure.

  • Generally, Portland cement concrete(PCC) pavements have the advantage of durability and superior surface friction when compared to most dense-graded asphalt. However, It is known that PCC pavements create more noise than asphaltic surfaces due to the noise from interaction of tire and pavement surface. Recently exposed aggregate concrete(EAC) pavement was sugested to reduce traffic noise. So in this paper, we considered several materials and mixture proportions for proper depth of exposed aggregate which was measured by the sand patching test, and then according to those relationships, we tried to find out dosage of retarding agents and optimum mixture proportions for expecting good effects to noise reduction. It were also evaluated sound level at every conditions of surface texture as like depth of aggregate exposed, profile peak, distance of aggregate and types of aggregate.

Performance Evaluation of Exposed Aggregate Texturing in Concrete Pavement Based on In-Situ Noise Measurements

  • Environmental noise at high intensities directly affects human health by causing hearing loss. Although scientific evidence currently is not conclusive, noise is suspected of causing or aggravating other diseases. Environmental noise indirectly affects human welfare by interfering with sleep, thought, and conversation. Noise emission from motorized vehicle includes power unit noise, tire/pavement noise and aerodynamic noise. Among them, tire/pavement noise is noise emission from interaction of the tire and road surface when the vehicle cruises over the surface of pavement. In general, portland cement concrete(PCC) pavement is known to create more noise than asphaltic surfaces though it has the advantage of durability and superior surface friction. However, the results of preliminary laboratory test showed exposed aggregate concrete(EAC) has and effect on reducing tire/pavement noise. Based on the laboratory test. pilot construction of exposed aggregate concrete pavement was completed and series of in-situ measurements were conducted for noise analysis including the pass-by noise measurement and the close-proximity method. Conclusively, it is expected that tire/pavement noise represent significant portion of noise levels at higher frequencies and it would be reduced on special textures of pavement such as exposed aggregate concrete.

  • Portland cement concrete (PCC) pavements are more durable and have superior surface friction compared to most dense-graded asphalt. However, data collected to date generally show PCC pavements to create more noise than asphaltic surfaces. Recent research has shown that some of the new concrete pavement textures are worthy of further examination. One of these, exposed aggregate surfaces, appear to provide better noise quality characteristics as well as good frictional characteristics and durability. In this paper, we considered the relationship between noise level and various textures of exposed aggregate concrete (EAC) pavement by tire impact noise measurement. As the results of that, it was suggested that optimum surface texture and manufacturing condition of EAC in order to reduce tire and pavement interaction noise. Conclusively, we would like to recommend optimum condition of EAC pavement at the respects of materials and treatment. Furthermore, Frequency spectrum as well as A-weighted noise level was also evaluated to analyze properties of noise between PCC and EAC.

  • 소입경 골재노출 콘크리트포장은 콘크리트 타설 직후 포장표면에 응결지연제를 살포하여 표면으로부터 2~3mm 정도의 모르타르 경화를 늦추게 한 후 표면의 모르타르 제거를 통해 굵은 골재를 포장표면에 노출시키는 공법이다. 소입경 골재노출 콘크리트포장의 타이어-노면 소음은 일반 콘크리트포장보다 작으면서도 적정한 미끄럼저항을 장기간 유지한다는 장점을 가지고 있다. 성공적인 소입경 골재노출 콘크리트포장의 건설을 위해서는 굵은골재의 최대입경이 적정하여야 하며 적정량의 굵은골재를 포장표면에 균일하게 노출하도록 해야 하기 때문에 이를 위한 적절한 배합과 노출기법의 도출이 요구된다. 본 연구에서는 소입경 골재노출 콘크리트포장의 시험시공을 실시하여 초기 공용성을 평가하였으며, 이를 통하여 적정 강도, 저소음 및 적정 미끄럼저항을 확보함을 확인하였다.

  • The traffic noise from automobiles have been causing so serious problems in urban areas that the study and solutions to reduce noise and air pollution have been required. In general, Portland cement concrete(PCC) pavements have the advantage of durability and superior surface friction when compared to most dense-graded asphalt. However, data collected to date generally show PCC pavements to create more noise than asphaltic surfaces. Therefore, recent research has shown some new concrete pavement textures to be worth further examination. Exposed Aggregate Pavements have also been evaluated for noise impacts. This PCC surface is accomplished by brushing the surface of the plastic concrete to expose the aggregate, increasing the macro texture. In this study, in order to manufacture Aggregate Exposed Concrete for low noise pavements, we considered the effects of retarder agents according to dosage and curing conditions. So we tried to find out relationship between textures of surface and effects of retarder.

Effect of aggregate type on heated self-compacting concrete

  • In this study, two types of aggregate were used for making self-compacting concrete. Standard cubic specimens were exposed to different temperatures. Seventy-two standard cylindrical specimens ($150{\times}300mm$) and Seventy-two cubic specimens (150 mm) were tested. Compressive strengths of the manufactured specimens at $23^{\circ}C$ were about 33 MPa to 40 MPa. The variable parameters among the self-compacting concrete specimens were of sand stone type. The specimens were exposed to 23, 100, 200, 400, 600, and $800^{\circ}C$ and their mechanical specifications were controlled. The heated specimens were subjected to the unconfined compression test with a quasi-static loading rate. The corresponding stress-strain curves and modulus of elasticity were compared. The results showed that, at higher temperatures, Scoria aggregate showed less sensitivity than ordinary aggregate. The concrete made with Scoria aggregate exhibited less strain. The heated self-compacting concrete had similar slopes before and after the peak. In fact, increasing heat produced gradual symmetrical stress-strain diagram span.

골재종류 및 폴리프로필렌 섬유 혼입률 변화에 따른 고성능 콘크리트의 폭열 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Spalling Properties of High-Performance Concrete with the Kinds of Aggregate and Polypropylene Fiber Contents)

  • A spalling is defined as the damages of concrete exposed to high temperature during the fire by causing cracks and localized bursting of small pieces of concrete. It is reported that spalling is caused by the vapor pressure and polypropylene(PP) fiber has an important role in protecting from spalling. This paper is a study on the properties and spalling resistance of high-performance concrete with the kinds of aggregate and the contents of PP fiber. According to the experimental results, concrete contained no PP fiber take place in the form of the surface spalling and the failure of specimenns after fire test regardless of the kinds of aggregate. Concrete contained more than 0.05% of PP fiber with the aggregate of basalt does not take place the spalling, while the concrete using granite and limestone does the surface spalling. It is found that residual compressive strength after exposed at high temperature has 50~60% of its original strength. Although specimens after exposed at high temperature is cured at water for 28days, they do not recover their original strength.

소입경 골재노출콘크리트포장의 최적 배합 및 노출기법에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Optimum Mix and Exposing Method of the Fine-Size Exposed Aggregate PCC Pavements)

  • 골재노출콘크리트포장은 콘크리트 타설 직후 포장표면에 응결지연제를 살포하여 표면으로부터 깊이 2$\sim$3mm 정도의 모르타르 경화를 늦추게 한 후 표면의 모르타르 제거를 통해 굵은골재를 포장표면에 노출시키는 공법이다. 골재노출콘크리트포장의 타이어-노면 소음이 일반 콘크리트포장보다 작으면서도 적정한 미끄럼저항을 장기간 유지한다는 장점을 가지고 있다. 특히 굵은골재가 소입경일수록 소음저감효과가 우수한 것으로 알려져 있다. 성공적인 소입경 골재노출콘크리트포장의 건설을 위해서는 굵은골재의 최대입경이 적정하여야 하며, 적정량의 굵은골재를 포장표면에 균일하게 노출하도록 해야 하며 이를 위한 적절한 배합과 노출기법의 도출이 요구된다. 일반적인 콘크리트포장의 배합기준은 강도설계로 이루어지지만 소입경 골재노출콘크리트포장의 경우 강도뿐만 아니라 소음저감효과, 미끄럼저항을 적절히 발현시킬 수 있는 배합설계를 실시하기 위해서는 강도실험 외에도 노면의 미끄럼저항, 소음을 고려할 필요가 있다. 본 연구에서는 소입경 골재노출콘크리트포장에 대하여 적정 강도를 유지하며 포장표면조직의 소음 저감효과 및 적정 미끄럼저항성을 동시에 만족시킬 수 있도록 표면조직을 형성할 수 있는 최적배합에 대해 제시하였다. 또한 콘크리트포장은 온도, 습도 및 대기환경에 의해 모르타르의 경화속도가 달라지므로 콘크리트의 물리적 성질을 정량적으로 고려한 최적 노출기법이 제시되었다.
