제 1, 2회 학생 과학 공동탐구 토론대회의 종합적 평가 (Summative Evaluation of 1993, 1994 Discussion Contest of Scientific Investigation)

  • The first and the second "Discussion Contest of Scientific Investigation" was evaluated in this study. This contest was a part of 'Korean Youth Science Festival' held in 1993 and 1994. The evaluation was based on the data collected from the middle school students of final teams, their teachers, a large number of middle school students and college students who were audience of the final competition. Questionnaires, interviews, reports of final teams, and video tape of final competition were used to collect data. The study focussed on three research questions. The first was about the preparation and the research process of students of final teams. The second was about the format and the proceeding of the Contest. The third was whether participating the Contest was useful experience for the students and the teachers of the final teams. The first area, the preparation and the research process of students, were investigated in three aspects. One was the level of cooperation, participation, support and the role of teachers. The second was the information search and experiment, and the third was the report writing. The students of the final teams from both years, had positive opinion about the cooperation, students' active involvement, and support from family and school. Students considered their teachers to be a guide or a counsellor, showing their level of active participation. On the other hand, the interview of 1993 participants showed that there were times that teachers took strong leading role. Therefore one can conclude that students took active roles most of the time while the room for improvement still exists. To search the information they need during the period of the preparation, student visited various places such as libraries, bookstores, universities, and research institutes. Their search was not limited to reading the books, although the books were primary source of information. Students also learned how to organize the information they found and considered leaning of organizing skill useful and fun. Variety of experiments was an important part of preparation and students had positive opinion about it. Understanding related theory was considered most difficult and important, while designing and building proper equipments was considered difficult but not important. This reflects the students' school experience where the equipments were all set in advance and students were asked to confirm the theories presented in the previous class hours. About the reports recording the research process, students recognize the importance and the necessity of the report but had difficulty in writing it. Their reports showed tendency to list everything they did without clear connection to the problem to be solved. Most of the reports did not record the references and some of them confused report writing with story telling. Therefore most of them need training in writing the reports. It is also desirable to describe the process of student learning when theory or mathematics that are beyond the level of middle school curriculum were used because it is part of their investigation. The second area of evaluation was about the format and the proceeding of the Contest, the problems given to students, and the process of student discussion. The format of the Contests, which consisted of four parts, presentation, refutation, debate and review, received good evaluation from students because it made students think more and gave more difficult time but was meaningful and helped to remember longer time according to students. On the other hand, students said the time given to each part of the contest was too short. The problems given to students were short and open ended to stimulate students' imagination and to offer various possible routes to the solution. This type of problem was very unfamiliar and gave a lot of difficulty to students. Student had positive opinion about the research process they experienced but did not recognize the fact that such a process was possible because of the oneness of the task. The level of the problems was rated as too difficult by teachers and college students but as appropriate by the middle school students in audience and participating students. This suggests that it is possible for student to convert the problems to be challengeable and intellectually satisfactory appropriate for their level of understanding even when the problems were difficult for middle school students. During the process of student discussion, a few problems were observed. Some problems were related to the technics of the discussion, such as inappropriate behavior for the role he/she was taking, mismatching answers to the questions. Some problems were related to thinking. For example, students thinking was off balanced toward deductive reasoning, and reasoning based on experimental data was weak. The last area of evaluation was the effect of the Contest. It was measured through the change of the attitude toward science and science classes, and willingness to attend the next Contest. According to the result of the questionnaire, no meaningful change in attitude was observed. However, through the interview several students were observed to have significant positive change in attitude while no student with negative change was observed. Most of the students participated in Contest said they would participate again or recommend their friend to participate. Most of the teachers agreed that the Contest should continue and they would recommend their colleagues or students to participate. As described above, the "Discussion Contest of Scientific Investigation", which was developed and tried as a new science contest, had positive response from participating students and teachers, and the audience. Two among the list of results especially demonstrated that the goal of the Contest, "active and cooperative science learning experience", was reached. One is the fact that students recognized the experience of cooperation, discussion, information search, variety of experiments to be fun and valuable. The other is the fact that the students recognized the format of the contest consisting of presentation, refutation, discussion and review, required more thinking and was challenging, but was more meaningful. Despite a few problems such as, unfamiliarity with the technics of discussion, weakness in inductive and/or experiment based reasoning, and difficulty in report writing, The Contest demonstrated the possibility of new science learning environment and science contest by offering the chance to challenge open tasks by utilizing student science knowledge and ability to inquire and to discuss rationally and critically with other students.

20세기 한국미술사 연구를 위한 소고: 1960-70년대 미술을 중심으로 (A Study on the $20^{th}$-century Korean Art History: Focusing on the 1960s-70s Art)

  • Historian Eric J. Hobsbawm once said "the task that historians have is to analyze the meanings of the past within the context of society and to track the changes and implementation." It would not be too far of a stretch to apply Hobsbawm's quote to art historian since art history, although quite specific, is still history. In addition, Hobsbaum also asserted that, "a mold called the past continuously forms the present or at least thought to be." It is my recognition that the major westernization of the last century took place under the Japanese colonization which served as the channel to usher in western art; however, the current 20thcentury Korean art history fails to recognize that the mold of the past, namely western art in this case, has formed the modern art of the present. Based on this recognition, attention was given to what lacked in the analysis of the current 20th-century Korean art history in terms of "Informel" which was identified as the turning point towards "modern art" in the Korean art history as well as the following "experimental art." My belief is that the art history of Korea has to be reassessed from, a socio-cultural perspective as well as adopting multi-level and diachronic understanding. However, the existing Korean art, especially the one between the end of 1950s to the 1970s was based on the perspective of "severance"; thus, raising the needs for the starting point of a new perspective. It is my conviction that meta perspective on writing is most essential in order to lay a solid basis for the Korean art scene to have a productive discussion. I feel the utmost necessity to reinterpret the typified history analysis and criticism which stemmed from the trauma under the Japanese colonization. The most urgent task is to avoid academic closeness and to share the research. Painting is an individual expression of the artist, but the act of expression is not free from the cultural and societal influence to which the artist belongs.

기능적 활동의 수행에 대한 상상연습이 뇌졸중 환자의 편측무시와 일상생활활동에 미치는 효과 (The Effects of Mental Practice for Performing of Functional Activities to Unilateral Neglect and ADL in Person With Stroke)

  • 본 연구는 손상된 사지의 기능적 활동 수행에 대한 상상연습이 뇌졸중 환자의 편측무시와 일상생활활동에 미치는 효과를 알아보는 것이었다. 연구는 개별실험연구방법(single-subject experimental research design) 중 ABA 설계를 사용하였다. 실험은 총 18회로 구성하였으며, 기초선 과정이 5회, 상상연습을 시행한 중재 과정이 10회, 기초선 회귀 과정은 중재 과정을 마친 2주 뒤에 3회를 측정하였다. 상상연습은 3개의 기능적인 활동(옷 입기, 화장품을 사용하여 화장한 뒤 정리하기, 옷을 개기)을 수행하는 것으로, 각 활동에 대해서 5분씩, 1일 총 15분을 상상하도록 하였다. 편측무시는 읽기 검사, 쓰기 검사, Baking Tray Task를 사용하여 측정하였고, 일상생활활동은 COPM(Canada Occupational Performance Measure)으로 평가하였다. 연구 결과 상상연습 후 편측무시 검사의 점수가 모두 감소되었고, 일상생활활동에 대한 검사 점수도 임상적으로 유의한 효과가 있는 것으로 나타나, 상상연습이 뇌졸중 환자의 편측무시를 감소시키고, 일상생활활동을 증진시키는 것으로 나타났다.

구조화된 인지적 성찰일지가 메타인지와 학업성취에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (A Study on Effects of Well-structured Cognitive Reflection Journal on Metacognition and Learning Achievement)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 공학교육에서 구조화된 인지적 성찰일지 적용이 학습자의 메타인지와 학업성취에 어떤 변화가 나타나는지를 분석해 보는 것이다. 연구대상은 수도권 소재 D대학교 공과대학 '기초반도체공학'을 수강하는 학생 총 143(실험집단 52명, 통제집단 91명)명이다. 연구절차는 먼저 두 집단이 메타인지와 학업성취도 측면에서 동질집단임을 검증한후, 실험집단의 경우 구조화된 성찰일지를 4주간 제공하였고 통제집단의 경우 구조화된 인지적 성찰일지를 제공하지 않았다. 그리고 4주가 지난 후 메타인지와 학업성취도를 측정하였다. 연구도구로는 Sperling(2002)의 메타인지 측정문항을 번안하여 사용하였고, 구조화된 인지적 성찰일지를 사용하였다. 연구결과, 구조화된 인지적 성찰일지 제공이 메타인지 능력 지속성 측면에 긍정적인 영향을 주었고, 학업성취 측면에도 긍정적인 영향을 주었다.

DVD-ROM 시스템에 적용한 신경망 등화기에 관한 성능 (Performance of Neural Equalizers for DVD-ROM System)

  • 차세대 저장매체로서 이미 그 규격이 확정된 재생 전용 디지털 다기능 디스크 시스템에 등화기를 적용하여 그 성능을 분석한다. 재생 전용 디지털 다기능 디스크 시스템에서는 정보 기록 시에 비선형 왜곡현상을 유발할 수 있으므로 이의 보상을 위해 비선형 입출력 사상능력이 뛰어나다고 알려져 있는 신경망 등화기를 적용한다. 또한, 결정궤환 구조의 등화기는 변조부호와 결합하여 사용하면 성능 개선을 보장할 수 없다는 것을 확인하기 위한 실험을 한다. 두 종류의 시스템에 대한 등화 실험으로 신경망을 이용한 등화기가 기존의 등화기에 비해 더 좋은 등화성능을 보이며 이는 채널의 비선형성이 증가할수록 확연해지는 결과를 얻었다. 또한, 랜덤한 데이터열의 간섭 보상에는 결정궤환 구조의 등화기가 우수한 성능을 보이지만 변조 부호화된 데이터열의 간섭 보상에는 결정궤환이 없는 구조와 비교하여 성능 개선이 없다는 결과를 얻었다.

우포늪 체험 학습을 위한 습지 생태 지도 프로그램 개발 및 적용 (The Development and Application of Wetland Ecology Map Program for the Study through Experience at Upo Swamp)

  • The study aims to comprehend the effect of the wetland ecology education on the elementary school students' changes of recognition about wetland through the wetland ecology map program. In this study, the literary research, the experimental research and the survey methods were operated. Through the literary research, the environmental factors were extracted, and the writing item of ecology map was reconstructed based on the literary research, so the experimental research was operated with the wetland ecology map program. Through four areas of test items such as the information and knowledge, values and attitudes, development and conservation, behavior and participation, and the analysis of children's study results, the effect of the wetland ecology map program on changes of recognition about wetland was verified quantitatively and qualitatively. Wetland ecology map program would be able to be an educational approach which can achieve the 'personalization of environment' setting up predictable environmental improvement goals and satisfying the needs of spatial information of the appropriate regions from the holistic perspective that students themselves plan and participate beyond a one-time experience program. Production of ecological map through continuous monitoring is expected to improve the possibility of subjective environmental actions by operating self-directed learning. Based on the conclusion of this study, we would suggest the following. For wetland ecology map program to be supplemented and utilized, the basic education of wetland should be organized in regular school curriculum, ecology map program including various teaching learning methods be prepared actively, and in future studies, studies of ecosystem-wide wetland ecology map program including animals like birds and fish are necessary.

국내 간호사와 간호대학생의 문화적 역량 연구에 대한 문헌고찰 (A Literature Review of the Studies on Cultural Competency of Nurses and Nursing Students in Korea)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to identify trends in research on cultural competency of nursing students and nurses in Korea and to provide suggestions for future studies. Methods: A literature search was conducted with 432 papers published between 1985 and 2016 from five electronic databases and other sources using such key words as 'cultural competency', 'cultural nursing', 'multi-cultural competency', 'nursing students', 'nurses', etc. Results: The research design of 86 nursing researches on the cultural competence of nurses and nursing students analyzed in this study was 90.7% in quantitative research, 9.3% in qualitative research, and 2.3% in mixed research. Cultural competence was the most measured concept. A total of 41 papers (47.7%) out of 86 papers were used to measure cultural competence. Ten different tools were used various instruments of cultural competency were used in 41 papers. In 11 experimental studies, new methods such as role playing, case study, four stage 3D puzzle model, newspaper reading, and writing reflection note were used other than traditional method of lecture. Conclusion: The overall findings of this study suggest that future research should include more well-designed experimental studies, qualitative studies and repeated studies to confirm the effects of findings from previous studies. Development of effective and highly diverse teaching methods is recommended to increase cultural competency. Supporting systems and funding are required to help activate research of nurses.

게이미피케이션 기반의 퀴즈 활동이 정형화 배열 회상에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Using Gamification-Based Quiz on Recalling Formulaic Sequences)

  • 본 연구는 게이미피케이션 기반의 퀴즈 활동이 정형화 배열의 회상에 미치는 영향을 알아보는 것을 목적으로 한다. 서울 소재 대학의 교양 영어 수업을 듣는 신입생 87명을 대상으로 실험을 진행하였다. 교재는 Marvel Cinematic Universe과 Twilight 및 Harry Potter 등 유명 프랜차이즈의 내용을 소재로 하는 EFL 교재를 이용하였다. 실험은 어휘 학습, 독해하기, 작문하기 순서로 진행하였다. 네 번째 활동은 두 집단에서 다르게 진행하였다. 실험집단은 게이미피케이션 기반의 퀴즈를 이용하여 정형화 배열을 연습하는 활동을 하였고, 비교집단은 독해한 내용을 요약하는 활동을 하였다. 평가는 정형화 배열 의미 회상과 형태 회상으로 나누어 실시하였다. 평가 결과, 정형화 배열 의미 회상 평가에서는 집단 간의 차이가 없었으나 사후 정형화 배열의 형태 회상 평가에서 실험집단이 비교집단에 비해 높은 점수를 나타냈고 이는 유의미한 차이로 나타났다.

설명적 그림을 활용한 정리가 초등학생의 학업 성취도 및 과학적 태도에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Pictorial Representation on Academic Achievement and Scientific Attitude of Elementary Students)

  • 본 연구는 학업 성취도와 과학적 태도를 향상시키기 위한 수업전략으로 수업을 정리하는 단계에서 설명적 그림의 효과를 조사하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 연구 대상은 초등학교 5학년 6개 학급의 학생 152명(실험 집단 남학생 38명, 여학생 39명, 비교 집단 남학생 36명, 여학생 39명)이었으며, 실험 집단의 학생들은 총 7차시에 걸쳐 학습 내용의 정리를 설명적 그림을 이용하여 하도록 하였고, 비교 집단의 학생들은 학습내용을 전통적인 방법인 글로 정리하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 설명적 그림으로 학습 내용을 정리한 실험 집단과 전통적 정리 방법을 사용한 비교 집단의 사후 성취도 검사 결과, 두 집단의 차이는 유의하지 않았다. 하지만 지연된 사후 성취도 검사에서는 실험 집단이 비교 집단에 비해 학업 성취도가 통계적으로 유의하게 높게 나타났다. 둘째, 성별에 따라 설명적 그림이 미치는 영향을 살펴보았을 때, 사후 성취도 검사에서는 성별에 따른 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났지만 지연된 사후 성취도 검사에서는 남학생 중 실험 집단의 성취도 검사 점수가 비교 집단의 성취도 검사 점수보다 높게 나타났으며 통계적으로도 유의한 차이가 있었다. 셋째, 과학적 태도의 향상 측면에서 설명적 그림을 통해 정리하는 방법이 미친 영향을 보면 실험 집단의 점수가 전통적 정리 방법을 활용한 비교 집단의 점수에 비해 호기심, 개방성, 비판성, 협동성, 자진성, 끈기성의 과학적 태도 전 영역에서 통계적으로 유의하게 높게 나타났다. 결론적으로 과학 개념의 이해와 과학적 태도의 향상에 설명적 그림의 활용이 효과적이라고 할 수 있다.

증명학습에서 생성-수렴 수업 모형의 개발과 적용 (Development and Applications of Mathematical Proof Learning-Teaching Methods: the Generative-Convergent Model)

  • 본 연구에서는 중학생들이 증명학습을 할 때 범하는 수학적 오류를 교수학적으로 처방할 뿐만 아니라 올바른 증명의 역할과 본질을 이해하여 증명과정을 스스로 구성할 수 있도록, '생성-수렴 모형에 의한 증명학습'이라는 증명 학습-지도 방법을 제시하였다. 이 수업모형을 8학년 학생 160명을 대상으로 10주 동안 40시간에 걸쳐 여러 가지 사각형의 성질과 관계를 학습할 때 적용하여 학생들의 증명능력 향상과 오류 교정에 미치는 효과 및 학생들의 정당화 유형 양상으로 세분화하여 그 결과를 살펴보았다. 첫째, 생성-수렴 모형에 의한 증명학습을 실시한 실험집단의 학생들은 통제집단의 학생들보다 증명능력 검사에서 평균점수는 높았다. 그러나 유의수준 .01에서 통계적 검정을 실시한 결과, 두 집단 간의 증명능력은 유의적인 차이가 없었다. 둘째, 학생들은 논증기하 영역에서 증명을 할 때 범하는 오류 교정율에 있어서 생성-수렴 모형에 의한 증명학습을 한 학생들의 오류 교정율이 통제집단보다 더 큰폭으로 감소하였다. 셋째, 학생들의 정당화 유형은 실험집단과 통제집단 모두 경험적 정당화에서 분석적 정당화로의 이행을 보였으나, 생성-수렴 모형에 의한 증명학습을 한 학생들이 통제집단의 학생들보다 분석적 정당화를 구성하는 학생들이 현저하게 증가하였다.
