The photovoltaic/thermal collectors (PV/T collectors) combine the solar thermal collector and photovoltaic modules. They can produce thermal energy in the form of hot air or hot water, and converts solar radiation into electricity. The collecctors can improve the electrical performance of PV modules as the heat from the PV module carried away by the thermal part of the system keeping temperatures lower. The basic water cooled PVT collector has metallic water pipes attached to the back of a PV collector. There are main parameters affecting the performance (electrical and thermal) of PVT collectors. This paper analyzed the experimental performance of glazed water PVT module, considering the parameters of solar radiation, inlet water temperature and ambient temperature. It found that solar radiation is the dominant factor for the electrical performance of the collector, and for the thermal performance the inlet water temperature and ambient temperature appeared to be more related.
The integration of PV modules into building facades or roof could raise their temperature that results in the reduction of PV system's electrical power generation. Hot air can be extracted from the space between PV modules and building envelope, and used for heating in buildings. The extraction of hot air from the space will enhance the performance of BIPV systems. The solar collector utilizing these two aspects is called PV/T(photovoltaic/thermal) solar collector. This paper compares the experimental performance of two different types of air type PV/T collector units: the base case of a collector unit with 10cm gap for forced ventilation and the other unit with copper pin attached to PV module to enhance its thermal performance. The experimental results shows that the base case unit had the overall efficiency of 41.9% and the improved unit with copper pin attached to PV module had 50.1% efficiency. For these air type PV/T units, the forced ventilation of the air space improved the electrical performance as well as the thermal performance.
This paper focuses on the efficient arrangement plan of buoyancy modules, which plan is used to secure the safe operation and structural stability of a marine riser. The marine riser is connected between a vessel and seabed devices. The movement of the vessel and the seabed devices are affected by the motion of the riser. The riser of a deep-seabed integrated mining system exerts a strong influence on the healthy transfer of minerals. So, buoyancy modules must be equipped to compensate for the problem which is the structure stability and the dynamic motion. Installation locations and quantities of the buoyancy modules are determined by real sea experiments. But this is not easy to do because in real sea experimental conditions the cost is expensive as well as being, time-consuming and dangerous. Therefore, the locations and quantities should be determined by numerical simulation. This method is called simulation-based design. The dynamic analysis models of the riser and the buoyancy modules are built into the commercial software of DAFUL.

We develop heat exchanger modules for a multi-burner boiler. The heat exchanger module is kind of a heat recovery steam generator (HRSG). This heat recovery system has 4 heat exchanger modules. The 1st module consists of 27 bare tubes due to high temperature exhaust gas and the others consist of 27 finned tubes. The maximum steam pressure of each module is 10 bar and tested steam pressure is 4 bar. In order to test these heat exchanger modules, we make a 0.5t/h flue tube boiler (LNG, $40\;Nm^3/h$). The test results of 100% boiler load show that heat transfer rate of 1st module is 49.7 Mcal/h which is 34% of total heat transfer rate and that of 2nd module is 82.6 Mcal/h which is 57% of total heat transfer rate. The reason of higher the heat transfer rate of 2nd module than that of 1st module is that the 2nd heat exchanger module has finned tubes instead of bare tube. The boiler load 50% results show that only 2 heat exchanger modules are needed to extract the heat from the flue gas to water. From this result, it is very important of optimum design of the first finned tube among all water tubes.

In medium- and long-range optical imaging systems, atmospheric turbulence causes blurring and distortion of images, resulting in loss of image information. An image-restoration method based on an adaptive feature-fusion multi-input-multi-output (MIMO) dense U-shaped network (Unet) is proposed, to restore a single image degraded by atmospheric turbulence. The network's model is based on the MIMO-Unet framework and incorporates patch-embedding shallow-convolution modules. These modules help in extracting shallow features of images and facilitate the processing of the multi-input dense encoding modules that follow. The combination of these modules improves the model's ability to analyze and extract features effectively. An asymmetric feature-fusion module is utilized to combine encoded features at varying scales, facilitating the feature reconstruction of the subsequent multi-output decoding modules for restoration of turbulence-degraded images. Based on experimental results, the adaptive feature-fusion MIMO dense U-shaped network outperforms traditional restoration methods, CMFNet network models, and standard MIMO-Unet network models, in terms of image-quality restoration. It effectively minimizes geometric deformation and blurring of images.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the effects of Science Writing Heuristic(SWH) strategy on problem-solving type inquiry modules through student-student verbal interactions. The modules were applied to 23 students of the 3rd grade in middle school and the SWH strategy was applied to 3 experimental groups. The SWH is the strategy that each student, first of all, has a chance to think and propose ways of problem-solving by individual writing a blue card when problems were emerged, and then students discuss ways of problem-solving with group members by writing a green card. Verbal interactions during small group discussions were audio- and video-taped, transcribed and analyzed to compare the effect of the SWH strategy. As a results, experimental groups tended to force solely on questions and suggestions about problem-solving, but controlled groups executed experiment and discussed about problem-solving simultaneously. The analysis also showed that the experimental students dialogued more on the deep-leveled argumental interactions than the controlled students did; in particular, show more SS3 and SD1 verbal interaction regarding suggestions of problem solving. We argue, therefore, that the SWH strategy is effective to the problem-solving type inquiry modules.
This study has the purpose to review the way of experience element and property of space design appearing in vocational experience space and accumulate basic study material for children's vocational experience space and build systematic and specialized modules. Analysing the marketing elements of experience space through pilot research to arrange frame of analysis, and in a determined range, experimental marketing's property appearing in children's vocational experience center is analysed. This researcher analysed experimental displaying space's function of recognition, emotional, behavior, sense marketing and experimental marketing induced from pilot research on space design expressive elements of experimental marketing when it is applied to spaces through the frame of analysis with the combination of total 8 kind's experience display space function such as investigative, conceptional, aesthetic, entertaining, logical, relative, participating, and comprehensive experience based on 5 vocational experience spaces located in Seoul and Gyeonggi, opened after 2010, being operated at present with more than 500 pyeong (about 1,650 square meter) and targeted for children, after this researcher visited the site directly to make check list with the frame of analysis together with the staff and administrator in charge of vocational experience education. As a conclusion, vocational experience center is a space of edutainment helping children experience various profession more easily to find their interest and to bring up their dream. By analysing current vocational experience center through the element called experimental marketing, current status of vocational experience center could be known. the experience itself in vocational experience center becomes a merchandise. The year 2011 witnessed interactive communication media and digital instrument experience a substantial growth in popularity within developed nations as well as developing nations in part due to the ongoing development of internet and information technology. The development of interactive media and technology have contributed to the increased progress of not only digital contents but also to the development of diverse interactive arts. This study will demonstrate how the direction of interactive media moving images through interactive media by utilizing the use of interactive art directing modules which will aid by expressing the theme and the directing concept of the art. To aid in the understanding of interaction directing module, two examples of art works are used as samples cases - "Room Two"(Mixing Lab in a museum; Interactive media art & Experimental mixing, Seoul Art Center, 2006) and a RPG(Role-playing game) style Game. Through these cases, this study intends to enhance the yet insufficient reference for interactive media art and assist artists attempting interactive media moving images through interactive media.
Heat transfer from three-dimensional heat-generating modules was investigated. A simulated electronic module in an array configured with dummy module elements was used to measure the average heat transfer coefficients. Various module arrangements were tested using module spacings of 0.85 and 1.15 cm for six Reynolds numbers ranging from 500 to 975. The results show that a module placed in-line with and upstream of a heated module results in the heat transfer enhancement due to a high level in turbulence prompted by upstream modules. The highest enhancement occurs when the separation distance between modules is close to the module length in the flow direction. Flow visualization reveals laminar flow on the front of the first module, slow recirculation regions on the sides parallel to the air stream, and turbulence on the back side. It appears that the first module serves to trip the air stream and produce a high level of turbulence, which enhances the heat transfer rate downstream.
This paper reports a simulation-based design method for the optimized arrangement design of buoyancy modules in a marine riser system. A buoyancy module is used for the safe operation and structural stability of the riser. Engineers design buoyancy modules based on experience and experimental data. However, they are difficult to design because of the difficulty of conducting real sea experiments and quantifying the data. Therefore, a simulation-based design method is needed to tackle this problem. In this study, we developed a simulation-based design algorithm using a multi-body dynamic simulation and genetic algorithm to perform optimization arrangement design of a buoyancy module. The design results are discussed in this paper.
