Multimedia Technologies in Modern Educational Practices: Audiovisual Context

  • In modern educational practices, the issue of dependence on the experience of using multimedia by students and the adoption of technologies in education, the perception of their benefits and effectiveness in blended learning is little covered. The purpose of the academic paper lies in assessing the audiovisual context of multimedia technologies, its acceptance by students in practice on the example of using video lectures in blended learning. The methodology is based on an online survey of 120 students of Ukrainian universities who have assessed the experience level in using video lectures, as well as the constructs as follows: Technology Characteristics, Fit, Perceived Usefulness, Perceived Ease of Use, Attitude, Intention to Use, Actual Use. The results show that the majority of students use video lectures to a certain extent in their training (20,8% have used technology to a certain extent, 49,2% have often used technology in training, 20% are regular users of technology). It has been revealed that most students agree with the relevance of video lectures, the accuracy of lectures, the brevity of lectures, the clarity of lectures, as well as the high quality of lecture videos. It has been estimated that 42,5% believe that lecture videos are an effective tool towards supporting students in hybrid learning. 26,7% of students consider video lectures to be appropriate technologies for online / hybrid courses. In general, 37,5% of respondents find video lectures useful; however, 35,0% do not agree with this statement. 83,3% of students have rated the high level of ease of access to video. In total, 95% of students find lecture videos easy to use. In general, positive attitude of students to video lectures has been revealed.

다문화 사회의 위협인식에 대한 영향요인: 한국인과 거주 외국인의 인식차이를 중심으로 (Factors Affecting the Threat Awareness of Multiculture Society: Focusing on the Differences in Perception of Koreans and Resident Foreigners in Korea)

  • 한국사회에서 이주민의 증가는 서구 이민 국가에서 볼 수 있었던 인종, 문화적 다양성이 한국사회 전반에 나타나고 있음을 의미한다. 그동안 학계에서는 이러한 변화를 인지하고 관련 연구들을 지속적으로 시행해왔다. 그러나 점차 이주민이 확대되고 세분화되면서 주류 집단인 한국인들과 함께 이주민들에 대한 논의가 필요하다. 또한 한국 사회가 인종적, 민족적으로 다양화 되는 것을 위협으로 받아들이는 인식이 있음에도 그동안의 연구는 반이주적정서에 대한 요인이 아닌 다문화 지향에만 초점을 맞춰온 경향이 적지 않아 위협에 대한 연구 역시 필요한 시점이다. 따라서 본 연구는 다문화를 위협으로 인지하는데 있어 이주민과 한국인을 비교분석하여 향후 다문화 사회에 맞는 정책방향을 제안하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 선행 연구를 바탕으로 국민 정체성, 사회적 거리감, 차별인지 및 집단 편견으로 다문화 위협에 대한 한국인과 이주민의 인식지형을 파악하였다. 실증 분석 결과, 한국인과 이주민 사이의 인식차이는 존재하고 있으며 이에 대한 다른 정책 방향이 필요하다는 것이 밝혀졌다. 첫째, 한국인의 다문화 태도를 결정하는 것은 접촉경험이었다. 접촉경험의 영향력이 높다는 것은 다문화 사회를 당연시하게 받아들이고 있지만 실제 이주민을 접하는 경험이 낮아 접촉이 강화되었을 때 긍정적인 방향으로 전환시킬 수 있는 정책적 도구가 필요하다는 것이다. 둘째, 이주민들의 경우 자신들의 차별을 인정하지 않고 편견이 강화될수록 다문화를 위협으로 받아들이고 있었다. 이는 이들이 가진 이중정체성, 즉 한국인에 대해서는 외국인이지만 다른 외국인과 자신을 구별하는 경향이 나타나고 있는 것이다. 따라서 이들의 경우 한국 사회에서의 동화만이 대안이 아니며 자신들의 민족 정체성 강화를 위한 진정한 다문화 정책이 필요할 것으로 보인다. 이상의 결과가 갖는 함의를 심층적으로 논의하였다.

결혼이주여성의 한국음식문화 적응 경험 분석 (Analysis of Korean Dietary Life Adaptation of Married Female Immigrants)

  • Objectives: This study aims to investigate the married female immigrants' experience on Korean dietary life adaptation, especially identifying the symbolic meaning and nature of experiences. Methods: This study was conducted with six married female immigrants through an analysis of the qualitative materials which consisted of in-depth interviews, field notes and materials. Data was analyzed using Giorgi's phenomenological research methods. Results: The results were deduced as 116 significant statements, 17 formulated meanings (sub-theme), and 6 theme clusters. Six theme clusters comprised of lack of preliminary knowledge and information, conflict and support in relationships, Korean food culture which is different from homeland, adaptation attitudes of Korean food culture according to situation, sharing of homeland food culture, and practical difficulty and expectative service. The participants started Korean life in the dark about Korea and Korean food culture, so they were subjected to trial and error. The conflict between Korean mother-in-law and foreign daughter-in-law came from lack of consideration of daughter-in-law's cultural background. Some participants were hurt because of misunderstanding and nitpicking. They were learning about cooking method, ingredient, seasoning, table setting and manner. Some participants integrated Korean food culture and their homeland food culture. Some of them assimilated with Korean food culture. One of them maintained homeland food culture. The participants who adapted Korean food culture well could share homeland food amicably. They sometimes didn't apply the services which were offered by the government, because the services did not fit their needs. Some of them didn't know the usage route of the services or information. They had resistance about home teaching and it showed that outreach service was not always effective. Conclusions: This study suggested that it is necessary to develop a practical support plan which covers married female immigrants' real needs and system improvement measures.

범이론적 모형에 근거한 고등학생의 흡연시작 관련요인 (Related Factors for the Initiation of Smoking in High School Students Based on the Transtheoretical Model)

  • Objective: This study was conducted to investigate the relationship between the intention of smoking and its related factors in high school students. Methods: Our study subjects were 1,203 high school students who resided in one city and in one county region. We conducted a self-administered questionnaire survey from June 7 to June 19, 2004. Both the decisional balance and temptation inventory showed high reliability estimates. We provided good fit for the 12-item decisional balance inventory and the 10-item temptation inventory by using a confirmatory factor analysis. We also used multiple logistic regression analysis to identify the major contributing factors for the intention to start smoking. Results: On the univariate analysis, the subjects who were female, the 2nd and 3rd grade students, the students in vocational high school, the ex-drinkers or current drinkers, and ex-smokers were found to be significantly more distributed in the groups with intention to start smoking. Except for the concept of the cons, the group with intention to start smoking showed significantly higher standardized T scores for the 7 concepts of decisional balance and temptations. On the multiple logistic regression analysis, the females, the 2nd and 3rd grade students, the students in vocational high school, the experience of cigarette smoking and low T score of the cons were significantly related to the intention to start smoking. Conclusions: The intention to start smoking in high school students was affected by various factors such as gender, the school grade and the experience of smoking. Therefore, further research should be conducted for providing the essential data for developing a brief instrument for selecting the groups with intention of starting smoking among adolescents.

여성교대근무 간호사의 수면의 질 구조모형 (Structural Equation Model for Sleep Quality of Female Shift Work Nurses)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to develop and test a structural model for sleep quality in female shift work nurses. The hypothetical model was constructed on the basis of Spielman's 3P model of insomnia and previous research related to the sleep quality of shift nurses. Methods: This cross-sectional study used structural equation modeling and recruited 285 female shift work nurses from four general and university hospitals with over 300 beds located in C and J cities in Gyeongsangnamdo. Data were collected from September 27 to October 20, 2016, and then analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation, and structural equation modeling. The study used SPSS/Win 18.0 and AMOS 18.0 in processing the data. Results: The final model showed good fit to the empirical data: ${\chi}^2/df=2.19$, SRMR=.07, RMSEA=.07, AGFI=.85, TLI=.91, GFI=.93, GFI=.89, NFI=.87. The factors that influenced sleep quality were sleep hygiene (${\beta}=.32$), perceived shift work status (${\beta}=-.16$), stress response (${\beta}=.16$), shift work experience (${\beta}=.15$), perceived health status (${\beta}=-.14)$, and circadian rhythm (${\beta}=-.13$) explaining 36.0% of the variance. Conclusion: The model of sleep quality of the shift work nurses constructed in this study is recommended as a model to understand and predict the sleep quality of shift work nurses. The results suggest that strategies for improving the sleep quality of shift work nurses should focus on sleep hygiene, perceived health status, stress response, circadian rhythm, perceived shift work status, and shift work experience.

초등학생과 중학생의 간호사에 대한 이미지 비교 (Nurse Image Perceived by Elementary and Middle School Students)

  • Purpose: This study was to investigate the image of nurse perceives by students of elementary and middle schools in Seoul, Korea. Methods: The data were collected through questionnaire survey on 860 students. The survey was performed during May to Jun. 2003. The nurse image was analyzed through the instrument conceived by Il-Sim, Yang(1998) on the basis of four dimensions; traditional, social, professional and personal. The collected data analyzed using SPSS 11.0 with frequency, mean, standard deviation and t-test. Results: The results of this study were as follows. 1. There was a significant difference in the nurse's image between elementary and middle school students(p=.000), and the elementary students had more positive image. 2. The nurse's image of elementary school students had more positive than middle school students in traditional(p=.000), social(p=.000), professional(p=.000) and personal dimension(p=.015). In elementary school students, score of nurse's image was the highest in personal dimension, followed by traditional, professional and social in order. In middle school students, score of nurse's image was the highest in personal dimension, followed by professional, traditional and social in order. 3. The difference of nurse's image not showed statistical significance in sex, religion, experience of hospitalization(self), experience of hospitalization (family), nurses in family by general characteristics. Conclusion: As a result, elementary school student had more positive nurse's image than middle school student in all the aspects. But as they grow old, it changed negative. It is required to develop public information or education fit with student's age to image making by broadcasting and to improve the image nurses themselves.

몰입경험구조 결정 요인연구: 한류 브랜드 몰입경험을 중심으로 (A Study on Flow Experience Structures of Korean Wave Tourists: Focused on Effect Model of Flow)

  • 본 연구는 한류로 인해 한국의 문화와 엔터테인먼트에 대해 고도의 관여도를 보이는 한류관광객을 대상으로 몰입(flow)의 결정요인과 몰입(flow)정도, 각 몰입(flow)요인간의 경로 등을 규명하여 한류의 성장과 지속의 전략과 이론적 근거를 도출해내고자 하는 것을 연구목적으로 한다. 이 연구목적의 달성을 위해 첫째, 관광활동의 새로운 패턴으로 부각되는 방문 혹은 잠재적 한류관광의 현황과 문제점을 파악한 후에 한류관광객을 대상으로 한류브랜드에 대한 몰입(flow)경험의 결정요인을 도출한다. 둘째, 도출된 몰입 결정요인들이 몰입(flow)을 경험하기 위한 단계별 과정에서 어떠한 상관관계를 갖는지 밝혀내고 그 관계를 검증한다. 셋째, 한류를 통한 한국 방문동기나 관여정도가 한류에 의해 유발된 관광활동이나 몰입경험과 어떤 상관관계를 갖는지 구조적으로 살펴본다. 넷째, 제시된 몰입경험구조 모형의 실증적 영향력 검증을 통하여 한류 브랜드의 몰입경험구조를 파악하고, 이에 따른 모델의 적합성과 타당성을 검토한다. 다섯째, 한류 시장의 몰입단계별 관광 마케팅 차원의 객관적 자료를 도출하여, 한류 브랜드의 성장에 필요한 한류에 대한 몰입효과 유지 및 증대를 도모할 수 있는 방향성을 제시한다.

e-Book 인터페이스에서 시각적 경험 설계를 위한 디지털 텍스트 구조의 물리적 요인분석 및 콘텐츠 개발 (Factor Analysis and Content Development of Digital Text Structure for Designing Visual Experience in e-Book Interface)

  • e-Book의 인터페이스 설계는 인쇄 텍스트를 읽고 이해하는 과정에서 시각적 경험에 의해 획득되는 물리적 요인을 반영할 필요가 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 e-Book 인터페이스 설계를 위한 디지털 텍스트 구조의 물리적 요인은 무엇인지를 규명하고, 이를 반영한 프로토타입의 e-Book 인터페이스를 개발해 봄으로써 그 가능성을 확보하고자 하였다. 디지털 텍스트 구조의 물리적 요인을 규명하기 위하여 탐색적 요인분석과 확인적 요인분석이 실시되었으며, 이를 위해 237명의 대학생들이 설문조사에 참여하였다. 연구결과, 디지털 텍스트 구조의 물리적 요인에 대한 29개의 문항이 개발되었으며 신뢰도는 0.91이었다. 탐색적 요인분석 결과, 부피(volume), 깊이(depth), 밀도(density), 공간(space), 배열(layout), 형태 (format), 단서(signal), 크기(size), 그리고 길이(length) 등 9개의 요인이 도출되었으며, 설명량은 71.49%였다. 9개 요인의 구조에 대한 확인적 요인분석 결과, 각 요인의 적재량은 p<.01 수준에서 유의미한 것으로 나타났으며, 전체적인 모형 적합지수도 양호한 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 연구결과의 논의와 추후연구를 위한 시사점이 제시되었다.

산후 2주 축약형 모유수유 적응 측정도구의 구성 타당도, 신뢰도와 측정 불변성 (Breastfeeding Adaptation Scale-Short Form for mothers at 2 weeks postpartum: construct validity, reliability, and measurement invariance)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to evaluate the construct validity, reliability, measurement invariance, and latent mean differences in the Breastfeeding Adaptation Scale-Short Form (BFAS-SF) for use with mothers at 2 weeks postpartum. Methods: This methodological study was designed to evaluate the validity, reliability, and measurement invariance of the BFAS-SF at 2 weeks postpartum, with data collected from 431 breastfeeding mothers. Confirmatory factor analysis and multi-group confirmatory factor analysis were conducted to assess the factor structure and the measurement invariance across employment status, delivery mode, parity, and previous breastfeeding experience, and the latent mean differences were then examined. Results: The goodness of fit of the six-factor model at 2 weeks postpartum was acceptable. Multi-group confirmatory factor analysis supported strict invariance of the BFAS-SF across employment status and delivery mode. Full configural invariance, full metric invariance, and partial scalar invariance across parity and full configural invariance and full metric invariance across previous breastfeeding experience were supported, respectively. The results for latent mean differences suggested that mothers who were employed showed significantly higher scores for breastfeeding confidence. Mothers who had a vaginal delivery showed significantly higher scores for sufficient breast milk and baby's feeding capability. Multiparous mothers showed significantly higher scores for baby's feeding capability and baby's satisfaction with breastfeeding. Conclusion: The validity and reliability of the BFAS-SF at 2 weeks postpartum are acceptable. It can be used to compare mean scores of breastfeeding adaptation according to employment status, delivery mode, and parity.

e-Learning 환경에서의 몰입(Flow) 경험을 위한 교수 학습 전략 연구 (A Study on Teaching-Learning Strategies for Flow Experience in e-Learning Environment)

  • e-Learning 시스템이 그 장점과 효과성을 충분히 발휘하기 위해서는 학습자의 동기 유발 및 학습 지속을 위한 세심한 교수 학습 설계가 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 동기 유발 및 학습 지속의 문제를 해결하기 위해 몰입(Flow) 이론과 그와 관련된 선행 연구 자료들을 분석하고 e-Learning의 기술적 환경적 특성을 분석하여 그에 적합한 몰입 경험 촉진을 위한 교수 학습 전략들을 개발하였다. 또한 이러한 전략들의 효과성을 검증하기 위해 해당 전략들을 적용한 시스템을 구현한 후 실제교수 학습 현장에 적용하였다. 그 결과 본 연구에서 개발한 몰입 경험을 위한 교수 학습 전략들은 실제 학습자의 몰입 수준 향상에 도움을 주었으며, 그에 따라 학업 성취도 향상에도 기여했음을 확인하였다.
