  • This study is a qualitative investigation that used Colaizzi's (1978) phenomenological method to evaluate the meaning and nature of the experience of dialysis of eight long-term (>30 years) hemodialysis patients with chronic renal failure. Data were collected from February 27, 2017 to May 30, 2017 by in-depth interviews. Respondents were then divided into three categories, 'entirely different life', 'getting back up again' and 'focusing on survival' with nine theme clusters and 22 themes. In general, patients initially experienced an entirely different life and overcame a difficult situation when beginning dialysis, then came to know methods for self-care, shared the experience of dialysis, and focused on survival while receiving dialysis over the long-term. Development of variety of education methods depending on long-term experience of dialysis and nursing care intervention to enable chronic patients to adapt to dialysis and continue their own self-management is necessary.

A total of 1,240 119 rescue workers who worked in 14 fire stations across the country were surveyed. The survey was conducted by self-administered questionnaires from 1 March, to 30 April, 2016. As a result, the score of job satisfaction according to violence experience, job stress, and burn-out were significantly lower in the group with higher scores of violence experience, job stress, and burn-out. Regarding the correlation of job satisfaction with violence experience, job stress, and burn-out, the score of job satisfaction was negatively correlated with the violence experience, job stress, and burn-out. With an analysis of the covariance structure, the job stress was more influential on the job satisfaction than violence experience and burn-out. On the other hand, a higher the job stress and violence experience resulted in higher burn-out rates. • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of job experience while attending college on the turnover risk in the first job following graduation. Data was obtained from the 2015 Graduates Occupational Mobility Survey (GOMS). Subjects included college graduates under 30 years of age, who graduated from high school and entered college in the same year. The results of this study are as follows: First, students who had job experience while attending school were relatively low in economic characteristics, but showed active employment preparation behavior. Second, there was a significant difference in the characteristics of entry into the labor market according to whether they had job experience while attending school. It was found that the securing their first job of graduates with job experience was shorter, and the period of tenure was longer, but their wage was smaller than non-experienced graduates. Third, the Cox regression analysis confirmed what factors affected their employment period, and that job experience, experience frequency, and experience period while attending school had a positive effect on lowering turnover risk. Therefore, this study found that job experience during schooling years makes the employment period of the job longer after graduation, which is consistent with those who had previous job experience. However, the greater amount of job experience during the period of study positively affects job retention.
