The purpose of the study is to analyze the perception and expectation made by parents, regarding the goal, methods and management of kindergarten education. The study is designed to identify social needs for the early childhood education and to produce some important information necessary for the development of education programs for kindergarteners and for the management of a kindergarten. As subjects of the study, 623 mothers of kindergartens were sampled from kindergartens. The researcher constructed a questionnaire of multiple-choice type for surveying opinions of the subjects, based on the analysis of curriculum materials published by Korean Ministry of Education. In data analysis, frequency of response on each item of the questionnaire was tabulated, and chi-square test was applied for testing the difference between independent samples. The results of the study are summarized as followings: First, parents feel kindergarten education necessary because 'interaction with peers' itself must be an important condition for socialization of younger children. For an 'ideal personality' to be pursued in kindergarten education, parents place 'moral personality' in the first priority.' And for educational objective of kindergarten they select 'development of cooperative attitude' as the most important one. Second, 'play method' is emphasized by parents as the most desirable educational method for kindergartener. Third, they think it is necessary for parents to participate in the management of kindergarten. And they also feel that parents of kindergartener should be educated on the early childhood education. Fourth, parents emphasize that the early childhood education should be integrated into a public educational system in order to provide equal educational opportunity for all preschoolers.

Purpose: This study was to investigate the stress of parents while they were rearing their children. Method: This study reviewed the preceding research related to parents' stress and breeding stress with consideration of modem society, family system and parents' role. Results: In the parent-child relationship, parents feel stressed when they found it difficult to come up with an expectation to the parents' role of rearing child. Therefore, considering the health of parents and children, it is important to mediate parents who are under stress. Moreover, since parents cannot handle this problem all alone, it should be discussed and solved not only by individual but also by family, and further by social context. The parent-child relationship in early infancy is a core element to the development of an individual. Parents have influence on a child's development the most and play a big role. In particular, many parents these days believe that parent-child relationship is changing in a democratic way and a couple breeds their child together. However, in reality, the relationship has not been changed and is even regarded as more difficult situation than it was in the traditional society. Parents are oppressed with not being adapted to social changes and advance, and child also feels the same. Conclusion: Parents need education and support for child rearing without having any stresses. Health care provider consider this issues and to build a healthy parent-child relationship by helping parents.
Purpose: This paper is a report of a concept analysis of 'quality of pediatric nursing care', Methods: Rodgers's evolutionary method of concept analysis was used. Data were collected from published literature related to quality of pediatric nursing care. Results: Quality of pediatric nursing care was identified with three dimensions and seven attributes: 1) nurse's character: technical competence, interpersonal competence, 2) nurse's activities: developmentally appropriate care, attentiveness, entertainment, 3) nurse-parent interaction: nurse-parent partnership, emotional support. Antecedents of quality of pediatric nursing care were 'child and parent's expectation about pediatric nursing care', 'previous caring experience of pediatric nurses'. Consequences of quality of pediatric nursing care were 'meet child and parent's needs' and 'better health outcomes.' The purpose of this study was to analyze the mediating effects of parental academic expectations and adolescent's optimism in the influence of perceived parental attachment on learning flow. The subjects of this study were 184 middle and high school students in Seoul. The results of this study are as follows. First, academic expectation and optimism showed significant full mediation effects on the relationship between parent attachment and learning flow. Second, there was no statistically significant difference in the difference between the indirect effects of academic expectation and optimism by the bootstrapping method. Based on the results of this study, it was found that the healthy attachment relationship with the parents increases the parent's supportive expectancy, improves the optimism for the youth, and improves the learning commitment for effective learning. Finally, we discussed the role and expectations of parents and adolescents in promoting the learning commitment of adolescents.

The parents of subjects completed the Child Behavior Checklist, Parent-General Behavior Inventory 10-item Mania Scale (P-GBI-10M), Parent-Mood Disorder Questionnaire, and FRS. Independent t-tests, analysis of covariance, and partial correlation analysis were used. Results : The Intimacy (p=.002) and Respect (p=.029) scores of the PCRI were significantly higher in adolescents without depression compared to those with depression. The Intimacy scores of the PCRI showed negative correlation with the BDI and P-GBI-10M and the Strictness scores of the PCRI showed positive correlation with the A-GBI, A-MDQ, and BDI. The Inconsistency, Punishment, and Excessive Expectation scores of the PAT-Y showed positive correlation with the A-GBI and BDI scores. The purpose of this study was to examine which aspects of coresident intergenerational relationships were associated with the life satisfaction of unmarried children in established adulthood and of their parents. In this study, the coresident relationship characteristics included support exchange, emotion, interference-conflict, and perceptions of coresidence. Data were collected from (a) 250 never-married adults who were 35+ years old and lived in Seoul with at least one parent aged 75 years or younger and (b) 250 older adults who were 75 years old or younger and had at least one unmarried child aged 35+ years living in the same household. Our multiple regression analysis of unmarried children showed that the adult child's financial support, the adult child's psychological reliance on parents, the parent's psychological reliance on the child, and relationship quality were significantly related to higher levels of life satisfaction. In contrast, the parent's daily interference, daily conflicts, and anticipation of future care of parents were related to lower levels of life satisfaction. Second, the characteristics that were positively associated with the parent's life satisfaction were the parent's instrumental support, relationship quality, the coresident child's daily interference, positive perceptions of intergenerational coresidence, and expectation of future care of parents. In contrast, the parent's financial support, daily conflicts with the child, and taking intergenerational coresidence for granted were negatively related to the parent's life satisfaction. This study advances our understanding of coresidence between unmarried children in established adulthood and their older parents by focusing on the multiple aspects of intergenerational coresidence.
