Composite Bonding Methods of Steel Pipe Piles into Pile Caps Using Steel Couplers (강재결합구를 이용한 강관말뚝 합성형 두부결합 방법)

  • The existing bonding methods of steel pipe piles into pile caps have many problems during construction or design. To overcome these, the composite bonding method of the bolting type and the welding type are proposed in this stud\ulcorner. The full scale test and the numerical analysis using finite element method were performed to verify the function of them. As results, the method of the filled with concrete in steel pipe piles head was good effective to increse strength. And the composite bonding methods are effective to protect the damage caused by earthquake than the bolted bonding method. Also, the composite bonding methods are cheaper than the existing bonding methods and a good construction as well.

  • Feature Simplification is an essential method for multiple representations of spatial features in GIS. However, spatial features re various, complex and a alrge size. Among spatial features which describe spatial information. linear feature is the msot common. Therefore, an efficient linear feature simplification method is most critical for spatial feature simplification in GIS. This paper propose an original method, by which the problem of linear feature simplification is mapped into the signal processing field. This method avoids conventional geometric computing in existing methods and exploits the advantageous properties of wavelet transform. Experimental results are presented to show that the proposed method outperforms the existing methods and achieves the time complexity of O(n), where n is the number of points of a linear feature. Furthermore, this method is not bound to two-dimension but can be extended to high-dimension space.

  • Social networking services have changed the way people communicate. Rapid growth of information generated by social networking services requires effective search methods to give useful results. Over the last decade, social search methods have rapidly evolved. Traditional techniques become unqualified because they ignore social relation data. Existing social recommendation approaches consider social network structure, but social context has not been fully considered. Especially, the friend recommendation is an important feature of SNSs. People tend to trust the opinions of friends they know rather than the opinions of strangers. In this paper, we propose a levelized data processing method for social search in ubiquitous environment. We study previous researches about social search methods in ubiquitous environment. Our method is a new paradigm of levelelized data processing method which can utilize information in social networks, using location and friendship weight. Several experiments are performed and the results verify that the proposed method's performance is better than other existing method.

A Study on Korean Connected Digit Recognizer Based on Semi-syllable and Post-processing (반음절기반의 한국어 연속숫자음인식과 그 후처리에 대한 연구)

  • This paper describes the effect of new recognition unit, a unit based on semisyllable, and its post processing method. A recognition unit based on semi-syllable expresses Korean connected digit's coarticulation effect. An existing method using semi-syllable limits next models, derived from current recognized models, to make complete connected digit sequence. However, this paper uses a new method to make complete connected digit sequence. The new post-processing method recognizes isolated digit words which include digits sequence from the digit combinations being able to occur from current recognized semi-syllable sequence. This method gives an improved accuracy rate than that of existing method. This new post processing provides two advantages. 1) It corrects current mis-recognized semi-syllable unit. 2) When people say each digit, they say it without regard to saying duration.

  • This paper proposes a calculation of compensation current using phase shift to eliminate ripple components of instantaneous active power under unbalanced or non-linear loads condition. The proposed phase shift method instead of existing method(LPF; Low Pass Filter) to remove ripple components and this proposed method improves performances of transient and steady state response. To compare proposed method with existing method, experiments have been done for calculating an average active power at load side. Their results show that transient response and steady state response of proposed method is improved.

  • A certificate revocation list(CRL) should be distributed quickly to all the vehicles in the network to protect them from malicious users and malfunctioning equipments as well as to increase the overall security and safety of vehicular networks. However, a major challenge is how to distribute CRLs efficiently. In this paper, we propose a novel Regional CRL distribution method based on the vehicle location registration locally to manage vehicle mobility. The method makes Regional CRLs based on the vehicles' location and distributes them, which can reduce CRL size and distribution time efficiently. According to the simulation results, the proposed method's signaling performance of vehicle's registration is enhanced from 22% to 37% compared to the existing Regional CRL distribution method. It's CRL distribution time is also decreased from 37% to 67% compared to the existing Full CRL distribution method.

  • We propose the method of analysis, separation, and express from normalized and standard method to reduce the problem with the existing scene change detection and the complicated and variety of images of real change. In this paper, we propose a new local ${\lambda}^2$-test which was combined the ${\lambda}^2$-existing test methods and local color histograms. This method is robust method of abrupt and gradual detection and solve the problem of traditional method.

  • In this research, we propose efficient demand forecasting scheme for intermittent demand. For this purpose, we first extensively analyze the drawbacks of the existing forecasting methods such as Croston method and Syntetos-Boylan approximation, then using these findings we propose the new demand forecasting method. Our goal is to develop forecasting method robust across many situations, not necessarily optimal for a limited number of specific situations. For this end, we adopt combining forecasting method that utilizes unbiased forecasting methods such as simple exponential smoothing and simple moving average. Various simulation results show that the proposed forecasting method performed better than the existing forecasting methods.

  • Recently, advance in technology have increased the importance of visual inspection in semiconductor inspection areas. In PCB visual inspection, accurate line estimation is critical to the accuracy of the entire process, since it is utilized in preprocessing steps such as calibration and alignment. We propose a line estimation method that is differently weighted for the line candidates using a histogram of gradient information, when the position of the initial approximate corner points is known. Using the obtained line equation of the outline, corner points can be calculated accurately. The proposed method is compared with the existing method in terms of the accuracy of the detected corner points. The proposed method accurately detects corner points even when the existing method fails. For high-resolution frames of 3.5mega-pixels, the proposed method is performed in 89.01ms.

  • Dynamic adaptation method is an effective technique to enhance the usability by personalizing the soft keyboard layout using the user's key input information. In this paper, we propose a dynamic adaptation method of a keyboard by automatically extracting typos from key input information and using adjacent-typo information classified through the relationship between typos. This technique does not limit a range of adaptation to the inside of the key but extends the range to the neighbor key so that the adaptation effect can be achieved in a wide range at a high speed, thereby the proposed method improves the usability of the keyboard with a small number of inputs. The proposed method showed 25% increase in usability compared to the existing method through experiment and it was confirmed that usability improves up to 33% when used with the existing method.
