홈트레이닝 시 발목 부상 예방을 위한 EMS 양말 효과 - 20대 후반 남성을 중심으로 - (EMS socks for Preventing Ankle Injuries during Home Training -Focusing on Men in Their Late 20s-)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of using socks combined with EMS on ankle pain reduction and ankle function improvement in home training participants. In this study, the conductive fabric was combined using socks that can properly compress the ankle. First, VAS was measured during EMS training after fatigue was induced and compared with fatigue during rest. It was confirmed that the level of VAS after EMS training was lower than after rest and fatigue. It was also confirmed that EMS training, which combines EMS with socks, was effective in reducing pain. The experimental action is a measurement action of WBLT and lying posture, and the situation before and after EMS training was compared by performing 30 minutes on the treadmill to cause delayed muscle pain during exercise. As a result of this study, it was found that pain reduction and ROM function were improved when electrical stimulation was performed using EMS socks. It was also confirmed that the application of electrical stimulation to EMS socks effected on ankle fatigue and function improvement. From the study results, it is expected that wearing socks equipped with EMS significantly reduces ankle injuries and improves functional recovery for home training participants.

운동강도에 따라 유발된 근피로가 슬관절 위치감각 인지에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Graded Exercise-Induced Fatigue on the Knee Joint Position Perception)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 운동강도(최대근수축의 10, 30, 50, 70%)에 따라 유발되는 국소적인 근피로가 슬관절의 위치감각 인지에 미치는 영향을 연구함으로써 근력강화의 운동치료적 효과와 운동학습과 관련된 효과를 동시에 만족시키는 최적의 운동강도를 제시하는 것이었다. 대상자는 건강한 성인여자 40명이었다. 청각을 통한 위치감각 정보를 제공하는 장치와 원판 각도계가 부착된 등속성 Cybex를 사용하였다. 근피로의 상태를 확인하기 위해서 근전도를 이용하여 주파수 스펙트럼 분석을 실시하였다. 청각되먹임이 주어진 각도와 대상자에 의해 재생되어진 각도의 오차값들과 근피로의 변화를 비교하기 위해 일요인 분산분석을 이용하였다. 오차값들의 평균은 50%의 군에서 가장 작았으며 근피로 또한 70%의 군에서만 크게 생성되었다. 따라서 최대 근 수축력의 50%가 운동치료 시 가장 효과적인 운동강도임을 알 수 있었다.

  • 제1늑골의 피로골절은 드물다. 반복되는 근육수축으로 인한 뼈의 피로가 골절의 원인이라고 생각된다. 자세한 병력 조사와 컴퓨터 단층 촬영 및 전자기 공명영상 등으로 진단할 수 있다. 진통제 등 보존적 요법으로 치료한다. 농구를 취미로 하는 18세 남자 대학생 환자에서 운동연습으로 인한 제1늑골의 피로골절을 경험하였기에 문헌 고찰과 함께 이에 보고한다.

지연성근육통 유발 후 수동적 스트레칭이 혈중피로물질 및 VAS에 미치는 융합연구 (Convergence Study on Effects of Passive Stretching on Blood Fatigue and VAS after Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness)

  • 본 연구는 대학생을 대상으로 지연성근육통 유발 후 수동적 스트레칭의 효과를 확인하고 부상 시 효과적인 통증완화 및 예방을 위한 재활 운동프로그램을 제안하고자 한다. 연구대상자는 20대 남자 대학생을 대상으로 수동적 스트레칭그룹과 통제그룹으로 구분하였다. 수동적 스트레칭 그룹은 지연성근육통 유발 후 수동적 스트레칭을 실시하였으며 통제그룹은 지연성근육통 유발 후 어떠한 처치도 실시하지 않았다. 지연성근육통 유발 방법은 벤치 스텝 운동을 통하여 유발하였으며, 스텝박스의 높이는 50cm이며, 착지 시 왼쪽 하지 쪽으로 착지하도록 하였다. 측정변인은 혈중피로물질과 주관적 통증척도를 알아보았으며 자료처리는 수동적 스트레칭 그룹과 통제그룹의 비교를 위하여 2-way RGRM ANOVA를 실시하였다. 결론적으로 지연성근육통 유발 후 수동적 스트레칭이 혈중피로물질(CRP, LDH)과 주관적 통증척도(VAS)에 긍정적 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다.

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of various exercise intensity on Excess post exercise energy expenditure (EPEE), Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR),thyroid hormonal changes and biochemical variables in obese and NIDDM patients. The subject of the present study were divided into four groups and four periods: trained (T; n=10), control (C; n=10), obese (O; n=10) and NIDDM (N; n=10) group. And the periods were divided as follows; Resting (RE), Maximal (MA), High intensity (HI), and Low intensity (LI). There was significant difference in RMR among different intensity of exercise. in the T (p<0.05) not in the C, O, and N groups. however, there was no significant different percent body fat among all groups. In the energy expenditure, there was significant different among C, O, N groups compare to T in HIEE (high intensity exercise energy expenditure), LIEE (low intensity exercise energy expenditure), HIEEPE (high intensity exercise energy expenditure post exercise) and LIEEPE (low intensity exercise expenditure post exercise). In the hormonal level, there was significant different in T4 level in the T group at LI period and there was also significant difference in T4, Free T3, & Free T4 levels in T group at LI period, however there was no significant different in the O and N groups except LI period. In the fatigue variables, there was significant different in lactate and ammonia levels in the N group in the period of HI compare to C. The present cross-sectional study was design to investigate the relationship between exercise intensity and RMR in four groups. The focus of this investigation was to compare RMR in aerobically trained (T), control (C), obese (O) and NIDDM (N) group. The relationship among RMR, exercise intensity and percent body fat would best be investigated using Meta Lyzer 3B, MMX3B and body composition analyzer. Each subject completed measurement of percent body fat, RMR, hormone in the period of maximal oxygen uptake exercise (MA), high intensity exercise (HI), and low intensity exercise (LI). From the results, High and Low intensity of exercise, there was a trend for an increased RMR (kcal/day) in the trained groups and control group (in case of LI) not for the obese and N groups. This is best explained not by the reduced percent body fat but by the highly induced energy expenditure (during exercise and post exercise energy expenditure) and increased T4, Free T3, and Free T4 hormonal levels in the low intensity exercise for the T group and sometimes C group.

Protein target identification of ginsenosides in skeletal muscle tissues: discovery of natural small-molecule activators of muscle-type creatine kinase

  • Background: Ginseng effectively reduces fatigue in both animal models and clinical trials. However, the mechanism of action is not completely understood, and its molecular targets remain largely unknown. Methods: By screening for proteins that interact with the primary components of ginseng (ginsenosides) in an affinity chromatography assay, we have identified muscle-type creatine kinase (CK-MM) as a potential target in skeletal muscle tissues. Results: Biolayer interferometry analysis showed that ginsenoside metabolites, instead of parent ginsenosides, had direct interaction with recombinant human CK-MM. Subsequently, 20(S)-protopanaxadiol (PPD), which is a ginsenoside metabolite and displayed the strongest interaction with CK-MM in the study, was selected as a representative to confirm direct binding and its biological importance. Biolayer interferometry kinetics analysis and isothermal titration calorimetry assay demonstrated that PPD specifically bound to human CK-MM. Moreover, the mutation of key amino acids predicted by molecular docking decreased the affinity between PPD and CK-MM. The direct binding activated CK-MM activity in vitro and in vivo, which increased the levels of tissue phosphocreatine and strengthened the function of the creatine kinase/phosphocreatine system in skeletal muscle, thus buffering cellular ATP, delaying exercise-induced lactate accumulation, and improving exercise performance in mice. Conclusion: Our results suggest a cellular target and an initiating molecular event by which ginseng reduces fatigue. All these findings indicate PPD as a small molecular activator of CK-MM, which can help in further developing better CK-MM activators based on the dammarane-type triterpenoid structure.

한의약소재 스포츠음료수 섭취가 운동-유발성 피로의 단시간 회복에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Oral Sport Beverages with Medicinal Herbs Added on Short-term Recovery from Exercise-induced Fatigue)

  • Objectives : Ginseng Research Group in Korea Food Research Institute developed Saeng Mac San (KFRI-2)and Je Ho Tang (KFRI-3) with their sensory factors more acceptable. And we examined their effects on the short-term recovery capacity for cycling exercise (EX) maintained to all-out. Methods : Seven healthy young subjects (aged $24.0{\pm}2.1yr$) were volunteered at this double blind test. Each of KFRI-2, 3, a commercial sport beverage and control (CON) was offered randomly on a series of EX protocol including 65% VO2max-90min EX (D-ride). 1h-recovery and 85% VO2max EX to all-out (P-ride) under the control of their heart rate (HR) and rating perception of exertion (RPE). Blood samples were collected before D-ride, 30, 60 and 90min in D-ride, 30 and 60min in the recovery period and each 10min in P-ride. Plasma analysis items were glucose, insulin, cortisol (CORT), testosterone (TEST), free fatty acid (FFA), $Na^+$, Cl-and $K^+$. The collected data (Means${\pm}$SE) were analysed by two-way ANOVA and statistically significant differences between treatments (p<0.05) by LSD.; the significant level in FFA, $Na^+$, Cl-and $Na^+$ was p<0.01 Results : At 30min during recovery. plasma glucose level in KFRI-3 was significantly higher than CON, and also insulin in KFRI-3 was than CON and KFRI-2. FFA in KFRI-3 was significantly lower than CON during recovery. $Na^+$ in KFRI-3 significantly higher than CON at 90min in D-ride, and also KFRI-2 was at 60min during recovery. However CORT, TEST, Cl-and $Na^+$ in treated beverages were not significant. KFRI-2, 3 elevated the time for P-ride more than CON did. Conclusions : KFRI-2, 3 elevated the time for P-ride about 12% more than CON did. It is based on rapid recovery of plasma glucose level and inhibition of lipolysis during recovery.

자화침 시스템을 이용한 경락전위 유발효과 및 근피로 회복 평가 (Evaluation of Muscle Fatigue Recovery Effect and Meridian Potential Change using Magnetic Acupuncture System)

  • Objectives : The purpose of this research was to develop the magnetic acupuncture system which used solenoid coil for magnetizing acupuncture needle. The system could generate the meridian electric potential (MEP) similar to the potential by manual acupuncture. Thus, we tried to confirm the therapeutic effect that is caused by the MEP generation. Methods : To confirm the MEP, we stimulated the magnetic acupuncture with at 2Hz, $92.7{\pm}2mT$, PEMFs (Pulsed Electro-Magnetic Fields) at ST37 and measured the evoked potential between ST36 and ST41. Also, we conducted a fatigue recovery test using isokinetic exercise in order to identify the therapeutic effect on musculoskeletal disorders. We chose LR9 as a stimulation point. To observe the state of fatigue, we measured the EMG and analyzed median frequency and peak torque for 20minutes. Results : We observed that MEP which incurred from magnetic acupuncture was higher than he reported MEP induced by manual acupuncture. Moreover, its modes were divided into two types by the direction of magnetic flux. When generating magnetic flux in the direction of acupoint, the positive peak voltage of the MEP was generated. In contrast, negative peak voltage of the MEP was generated whenever meganetic flux generated in the outward direction. As a result of fatigue recovery, the median frequency (MF) of the magnetic acupuncture group were recovered faster than that of the non-stimulation group. However, the peak torques of both groups were not restored until after 20 minutes. Conclusions : We confirmed that the magnetic acupuncture system can lead to the MEP similar to manual acupuncture. Moreover, the MEP had a therapeutic effect on the musculoskeletal disorders.

생약조성물 투여가 지구력 향상과 항산화 물질에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Formula (JR-22) Maybe Containing Traditional Herbs on Maximal Exercise Performance and Antioxidant Meterials in Murine Model)

  • 근육은 지속적인 수축운동 과정상에서 근육 세포내의 에너지원인 ATP가 고갈되고, 근육피로를 나타내는 물질이 축적되어 근력이 약해지고 피로도가 증가하게 된다. 지구력을 향상시키기 위하여 ATP의 합성 증가 및 근육내 피로 물질의 축적 방지 등이 요구되어지는데, 본 연구에서는 전통 생약재로부터 추출 증류한 조성물 JR-22를 이용하여 지구력 향상 효과를 확인하고자 하였다. JR-22를 4주간 실험 동물에게 투여한 이후 체중의 4-8%에 해당하는 무게를 부가하고 강제수영 시간을 통하여 지구력 향상효과를 확인한 결과 JR-22의 투여로 인하여 지구력이 향상되는 효과를 확인하였다 JR-22에 의한 지구력 향상효과의 기작을 관찰하기 위하여 체중의 4%에 해당하는 무게를 부가한 뒤 90분간 강제 수영시킨 실험 동물로부터 근육 피로 물질들과 근육내 ATP 함량을 측정한 결과 JR-22의 투여가 근육내 ATP 함량을 증가시키는 것으로 나타나 JR-22의 투여가 근육내 ATP를 증가시킴으로서 지구력을 향상시키는 효과를 나타내는 것으로 추측되었다. 또한 근육세포의 강화와 연관성이 있는 IGF-1과의 관련성을 알아보기 위하여 JR-22를 투여한 이후 혈액중의 IGF-1의 농도를 측정하였을 때도 JR-22에 의해서 유의성이 있는 IGF-1의 증가가 관찰되어 JR-22의 투여가 근력 강화에 도움을 줄 수 있다고 추측되었다. 이러한 운동 과정상에서 발생하는 체내의 산화적 손상은 JR-22의 투여를 통해 완화되고 있음을 확인하여 JR-22의 투여가 체내의 항산화력 증진에 도움을 줄 수 있는 것으로 추측되었다. 한편 JR-22를 4주 이상 투여하였을 경우에도 간독성 지표인 GOT, GPT를 비롯한 각종 혈액 생화학적 수치들의 변화가 나타나지 않았으며, 기타 이상 소견이 발견되지 않아 JR-22의 식용으로서의 안전성에도 문제가 없는 것으로 판단되었다. 이상의 결과에서 JR-22는 IGF-1의 증가 및 근육내 ATP 농도를 증가시킴으로서 지구력을 강화시키는 효과가 있을 뿐 아니라 운동시 발생하는 부작용중 하나인 산화적 손상을 억제시키는 항산화 효과 또한 겸비하고 있는 것으로 판단된다.

홍경천(紅景天)추출물(KH101)이 강제유영 흰쥐의 피로회복에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Rhodiola rosea (KH101) on Anti-fatigue in Forced Swimming Rats)

  • Objectives : Rhodiola rosea has been used in herbal medicine to treat various conditions, such as antimelancholia, antifatigue, improvement of work competence and prevention of altitude sickness. In this study, we investigated effects of Rhodiola rosea extract (KH101) on fatigue in forced swimming rats. Methods : Sprague-Dawley rats were induced with fatigue by forced swimming, then rats in each group were treated with KH101. We observed changes of glucose, LDH and cortisol in serum and LDH, glycogen, hexokinase, citrate synthase MDH, SDH and CK in muscle. Results : Obtained results were as follows: 1. Continuance times of exercise significantly increased in all groups at day 1, in the 50 mg/kg concentration group at day 2, in all groups at day 3 and in the 50 mg/kg conc. group at day 4. 2. In serum, glucose significantly decreased in all concentration groups. 3. In the soleus muscle, LDH significantly decreased in the 50 mg/kg concentration group. HK significantly decreased in the 100 mg/kg conc. group. SDH significantly increased in the 100 mg/kg conc. MDH were significantly decreased in all conc. groups. 4. In the gastrocnemius muscle, HK significantly decreased in all concentration groups, while MDH significantly increased all conc. groups. Conclusions : It is concluded that the KH101 has and anti-fatigue effect in rats. Additional studies are needed to find the mechanism of the association between each single herb.
