In this paper, we give a necessary and sufficient condition for an essential simple loop on a 2-bridge sphere in an even Heckoid orbifold for the trivial knot to be null-homotopic, peripheral or torsion in the orbifold. We also give a necessary and sufficient condition for two essential simple loops on a 2-bridge sphere in an even Heckoid orbifold for the trivial knot to be homotopic in the orbifold.

We show that if an even length filter has the same length complementary filter in a generalized linear phase case, the complementary filter is unique, we find sufficient conditions for a unique existence of even length N complementary filter in a quadrature mirror filter bank, and we find all higher degree symmetric filters of length N + 4m which are complementary to a given symmetric filter of even length N.

In this paper, we announce that the strategy of comparing the complex moments of L(1, χ_u) to that of a random Euler product L(1, 𝕏) is also valid in even characteristic case. We give an asymptotic formulas for the complex moments of L(1, χ_u) in a large uniform range. We also give Ω-results for the extreme values of L(1, χ_u).

Previous studies present the mixed results on online reputation mechanism. In this study, we have found that an approach based on Bayesian statistics can explain most results of previous studies which are conflicting with each others. With this model, we explain why negative ratings have more significant marginal impacts on sellers' reputation than positive ones do. Furthermore, we even show why the feedbacks with a few negative ratings may increase the value of the item and final prices by confirming buyers' prior beliefs on the sellers' reputation much more than those without negative ratings. Also, we explain why there are not many negative ratings. Even though some studies suggest this because of generosity of users, our model shows that the reason is that the existence of FS itself prevents bad sellers from participating to the market as a signal itself. Even further, we show how this extreme tendency of positive ratings gets even stronger as markets evolve. Finally, to validate our analytical results, we examine the previous studies and see what factors effect the outcomes of their analyses.

This research was carried out to improve the productivity in the subassembly process of shipbuilding through optimal work planning for the shortest work time. The work time consist of welding time, moving time of gantry, teaching time of robot and robot motion time. The shortest work time is accomplished by even distribution of work and the shortest welding sequence. Even distribution of work was done by appling the simple algorithm. The shortest work sequence was determined by using GA. The optimal work planning decreased the total work time of the subassembly process by 4.1%. The result showed the effectiveness of the suggested simple algorithm for even distribution of work and GA for the shortest welding sequence.

Consider the even-order neutral difference equation (*) ${\delta}^m(x_n{-}p_ng(x_{n-k}))-q_nh(x_{n-1})=0$, n=0,1,2,... where $\Delta$ is the forward difference operator, m is even, ${-p_n},{q_n}$ are sequences of nonnegative real numbers, k, l are nonnegative integers, g(x), h(x) ${\in}$ C(R, R) with xg(x) > 0 for $x\;{\neq}\;0$. In this paper, we obtain some linearized oscillation theorems of (*) for $p_n\;{\in}\;(-{\infty},0)$ which are discrete results of the open problem by Gyori and Ladas.

Nodal transport methods are studied for the solution of two dimensional discrete-ordinates, simplified even-parity transport equation(SEP) which is known to be an approximation to the true transport equation. The polynomial expansion nodal method(PEN) and the analytic function expansion nodal method(AFEN）which have been developed for the diffusion theory are used for the solution of the discrete-ordinates form of SEP equation. Our study shows that while the PEN method in diffusion theory can directly be converted without complication, the AFEN method requires a theoretical modification due to the nonhomogeneous property of the transport equation. The numerical results show that the proposed two methods work well with the SEP transport equation with higher accuracies compared with the conventional finite difference method.

An effective do-blurring algorithm is proposed to remove the blur of the even and the odd line images of the interlaced scan type camera. n the object or the camera moves fast while the interlaced scan type digital camera is acquiring images, blur is often created due to the misalignment between two images of even and odd lines. In this paper, the blurred original image is separated into the even and the odd line images of the half size. Two full sized images are generated using interpolation technique based on these two in ages. Again, these images are signed and combined through the processes of feature extraction, matching, sub-pixel matching, outlier removal, and mosaicking. De-blurring simulations about the images of different camera motions have been done.

This paper described the performance test and sound characteristics of helicopter 'Tail-Fan' anti-torque system. In this research, Korea Aerospace Research Institute(KARI) developed 'Tail-Fan' anti-torque system for a helicopter and carried out performance and sound capturing tests of even and uneven tail fans. The performance test is carried out and the noise signals which are generated during the test are saved with microphones at the same time. The performance test's results meet the design requirements. Tone-corrected perceived noise level is reduced by replacing the even product with the uneven one.

We determine interval of two eigenvalues for which there existence and nonexistence of positive solution for a system of even-order dynamic equation on time scales subject to Sturm-Liouville boundary conditions.
